The Stoop

they sit outside the penny candy store,
old men slap dominoes on chipped tables,
smoke curling up like prayers
their wives gave up saying.
i lean on the fire escape,
watch them call me mami
like it’s my birthright —
call me solid, thick like the block,
hips wide enough to hold the gossip
and still swing.
they say ju got that caramel skin,
that soft bite in your mouth
when you try to say sweet —
they say i’m loud, i’m stubborn,
i argue with my hands and my hips,
i got too much to say for a girl
that comes from stoops and window sills.
but this is my gospel —
my curvy body a prayer,
my no’s a sermon,
my laugh breaks their cigar smoke,
my name rides the domino slam —
mira, mami, this girl ain’t leaving
her corner for nobody.

Remembering Mira

Up your seconds
stretch every moment
Joy in the instant
— present sublime

Mounts Mighty and Mira

''Mighty: 'Mira, have you seen the dam's reservoir level rise?''
Its water spills over, a dangerous disguise
Mira: ''Yes, I have, my friend. It is a terrible sight
The flood brings a destructive might".

Mighty: ''The Engineers, they say it is all for good.
To generate power, for the people's hood.
But what about the homes and lands below?
The waters rage, will they ever know?''

Mira: ''The dam stands tall between us two.
A symbol of man's power, but also their woo.
Nature's force, cannot withstand.
The flood's fury will sweep through this land''.

Mighty: ''Oh! Mira, I fear for those downstream.
Their safety and homes seem like a terrible dream.
The water's rise knows no bounds.
Its power is immense, it knows no grounds."

Mira: '' But still, we stand strong, like guardians of old.
Witnesses to man's might, and to nature's hold.
And though the flood may come, with all its might.
We'll stand here forever, throughout day and night".

So let the flood rage on, with all its might
For man and nature, will surely fight
And though the dam may falter, and the water may spill.
Our strength will stand steadfast still.

La Pasion De La Voluntad

Hoy me he sentido extrañamente melancolico,

Meera’s song - Updated 2023

Meera is a dancer
So simple and sincere,
But only a simple heart knows the answer:
It’s the fire of Love that melts our fear.

Meera was a dancer
But people were afraid:
She was wild and seemed in a trance,
For her partner was no mortal,
Only with God would she dance.

Meera danced outside in the darkness
And in storms and rain,
Men threw her out of the temple
Told her she was sacrilegious
And insane.

Sangeet Portals, October 2023

Meera (or: Mira) Bai lived six hundred years ago and was a devotee of Krishna. She was born a princess in Rajasthan, India and became a spiritual rebel. She expressed her deep love for Krishna through (ecstatic) dance and many devotional songs (Bajans) which are still sung today.

One Day Away Biden Wiil Say

without any delay
biden president next day
trump waddled away

about trump did shout
you always will seem to pout
and take the wrong route

my mind did engage
history was on each page
always stage to stage

never was faded
my hair which had been braided
eyebrows are shaded

out all light did keep
while she counted sheep
then went fast asleep

God we are needing
To Him we have been pleading
His food be feeding

likes being with pimp
trump surely a shrimp
walks with a slight limp

flew in on a stork
we spent new years in New York
bottle would uncork

much money did spend
trump finally reached his end
what we did intend

trump will have to leave
sad going while he will grieve
Mira Lago receive

God is only way
everyone will always say
do day after day

to rhyme do attempt
my family is exempt.
adding will attempt

Holiday Season Horn Haiku

God gave me sources
about all of the courses
how to ride horses

had been a big blow
lifeline out did throw
after bombed by foe

we were all upset
Trump at Mira Lago I bet
with his hair all wet

hair had been thinning
we had known from beginning
that he was sinning

would be examiner
each distinct diameter
of parameter

God were receiving
In Him we are believing
hearts have been grieving

God on judgement
we suffered from sin and heat
Him one day will meet

So sad when we sin
had started and would begin
never do again

be glad when it halts
all our sins which in would waltz
had been all our faults

Out Door and Not Around Anymore

Had kicked Trump of out the door;
We will not see around anymore;
With him could not make a truce;
Was always making an excuse.

His head was pointed like a pin;
Will lie and sin again and again;
Should see him in golden shower;
Was result of his poor will power.

More and more pardons did grant;
Like a dog he had loved to pant;
Found him with a female flipper,
While pulling down her zipper.

Knew he would be a lost cause;
Had puckered lips with small paws;
No matter what with are confiding;
He has been on way to Mira Lago.
While driving in a his wild Winebago.

SOPLAR VIENTO- SOPLAR

Blow wind blow;
Donde soplan los vientos;
De dónde viene;

Tiene Comienzos, pero solo sentimos los fines;
 Soplar viento,soplar ;
Blow wind blow;

Como un tornado;
Mira las copas de los árboles inclinarse;
Soplan vientos fuertes;
BLOW WIND- BLOW
Where the winds blow;
Where does it come from;

It has Beginnings,
but we only feel the ends;
 Blow wind, blow;

Like a tornado;
Watch the treetops tilt;
Strong winds blow;

Isolation N 46 Every Sweet Arrival

under this gray sky
to the name rose they gave sharp thorns
to the name nettles nothing to suggest the itch when touching them

maybe it's just fate and nothing but appearance
although
every sweet arrival is preceded by a steep path
and every profound evil is hidden to the world
only if whoever whatches has no heart to see

...........

Trump Has Been In White House Staying

Trump Has Been In White House Staying

Looks like all the hens have been laying;
Children in a cold yard could be playing;
So still preaching;
Mira Lago beaching;
Trump is in White House there staying.
