Yankee-two-kilo
Can you read me?
Y2K
The year 2000's on the way
The new millennium's almost here
To write January 1, 2000 will be weird
Star Trek's beam me up Scottie was
A far out idea
But now the space shuttle goes up
Several times a year
The crew of seven went up that day
(don't look up to watch it burn)
they had no fear, now their view from heaven
Is crystal clear
When January 1 comes will
My computer freeze?
Will I get my money from the
ATM with the greatest of ease?
Did I store any staples and canned
Goods to keep my mind at ease?
Will I be able to trade in the
Stock market as I please?
Y2K
Yankee-two-kilo
Calling all earthlings!
Come aboard
The space center on the moon is
Ready (it has so much more
More than you'd ever imagined before)
Don't look back to watch it burn

Equilibrium
Quite unique
To search as deep
Receptive through initiative
You are ready to live
Acceptance through decendants
Your future show evidence
Spread your wings
Time to sing
Allowed yourself to rise
No love devides
Oh fearless warrior
Enjoy your endeavors
Stability has been restored

Somehow it seems sacriligious
To impose
A day's order on a day like this.
The space between sleeping night
and waking day stretches elastic
as if I occupy a hole in time.
Others pass by
and disappear,
but the mist lies magic below
promising a day of enchanted delights.
Today
or tomorrow
I shall wake up
in Avalon

The first decade
This millennium
Ends. 2019 ends.
What's in store for the next decade?
Shall we fly to Mars and live there?
Hard to predict the unknown.
Lots of surprises.
Just wait and see
Goes the maxim.
We only know the past
And the ongoing present.
The future is oft unknown.

Unicorns and Amazons
chasing in a derby race;
what a noble thing for us to see!
Saint Peter tapping-out the rhythm
whilst old Gabriel leads a tune,
and Saint Francis sings harmony!
Mary and the Ladies hence-
spin and play
making and baking!
The Heavens envelop
and Eden's times are warm-
Man, Earth and Love!
Rhymes that make no reason
seem all splendid in this season-
betwixt has made the scene!
Jesus site beside His Father,
and ponders with the children-
dashing as a noble Prince!
Could things be any Grandeur?

St Paul’s gazes out over the modernising City
Where the Tower shrinks in its corner
Fearful of the vicious Shard
The Abbey and Houses of Parliament
Keep Westminster alive
Under the gaze of a watchful Eye
The hustle of the restless Oxford Street
Is matched by the bustle of Soho
The British Museum still reigns supreme in Bloomsbury
Despite constant tourist invasion
On the river the Cutty Sark is rehabilitated
And Tower Bridge still opens
The Boat Race can be seen every year but not from the new Garden Bridge

This is a time for celebration
Let's join hands across the nations
Peace on earth goodwill to men
Should be the song of the millenium
To heal the sick, to feed the poor
Are as important as before
If the human race wants real success
We need to find true happiness
Let's form a global identity
Then maybe mankind will be free
Free from hatred, free from war
Free to love for evermore
This a dawn of a new age
A chance to start with a fresh page
Ring out the old, ring in the new
A new beginning for me and you
This goes back a bit, written for The Millenium

My revolutionary heart smiled at its private joke:
“The poor can’t eat the rich because they’d gag and they’d choke
On toxins like guilt, cynism and greed,
Prozac and Botox – not quite what the poor need.”
But, the above-mentioned attitudes, I hear you demur,
Are found just as commonly amongst the poor.
Yes, I retort, it’s just as you say –
But they have better reasons to feel that way.
For those with soft beds, their futures assured,
Their needs taken care of, their investments secured,
No wolves near their doors, their faces unlined -
Surely these ones can simply afford to be kind?
For the poor each gesture has a real cost –
A loaf of bread given may mean a meal lost,
But the rich can donatecratefuls, it takes no nerve,
It is only a snack, a missed hors’d’oevre!

(New Year’s Eve, 2000)
The world holds a collective breath
The specter of Y2K looms
Darkly on the western horizon
Like a fabled tsunami
Rolling all the way from Japan
Stock markets crash
Free falling
The economy
Plummets
Through time and space
To meet the future
Hate crime is on the rise
Promising to become a Holy War
An oily filth clings to
The underside of clouds—
Godzilla’s breath?

MILLENIUM GRAND MILLENIUM
Alpha hast thy beginning
Thou end hath omega
O lambs of freedom
Praise thy millennium.
Aethiopia Hoy!, Ye honeymoon
God’s blessings and promise.
Non-life hast thy power
To change thy course of love.
Nonself hast thy strength
To change thy stream of life.
Millenium Aethiopia!
Millenium Africa!
Millenium Grand Millenium!
