The brilliance of Jesus can never be destroyed

Jesus the Genius
Humble, Powerful, and All-Sufficien
The brilliance of Jesus can never be destroyed.
He is still working in the 21st century.
He is still saving lives and doing miracles.
He is present for anyone who calls on Him.

The genius of Jesus can never be destroyed.
His words will live on forevermore.
His deeds will infiltrate any organization.
His passion will deviate from any ritual.
He is the man of the moment, and He will not be stopped.
He will visit any place because of His unique grace.

Death could not defeat Jesus.
He remains the GENIUS for everyone to SEE.
The magnitude of the Lord’s fire should never be forgotten!
If you call on Him, He will take you higher.
Jesus is a genius; Jesus is the Specialist.
History has not quenched His power, and
The problems in life can be touched by a genius
Simply because Jesus is the Specialist!

Yasmine Just Didnt Like Dancing

Aisha her strong, independent sister, was a listener,
Very quiet in her observations, but strident in her judgement,
She didn't know why Yasmine didn’t want to be a dancer,
She constantly gossiped about it when Yasmine was absent.

Ahmed, the man of the moment, the one they all look up to,
Wondered why she hesitated and didn't rise from her seat.
He humiliated her by calling her an “empty shoe”.
Her loving family thought Yasmine might have mis-shapened feet.

The ladies of the dull mirror with their butterfly ideas,
None of them knew why she didn't want to even learn to dance,
Or the angel man on the pedestal who she loved for years,
He didn't know why she would sit back and didn’t take a chance.

The lone, ghostly spirits that peacefully float through skies of blue,
The invisible ones that caused her contented smile, they knew.
There is eternal joy in hiding from the oppressive blue.

Man of the Moment

Roll out the drums
Let the beaded waists twist and wind
Loud the music to the peak
Shoot the guns in the air
Let the smoke wander to the east

Draw out the swords and hold back the spears
Let the warriors form a passage and not a wall
For we are out to celebrate and not a war
With all your might shout and hail the man of the moment

We hail thee and praise thee
The king of the moment we hail thee
Not the king of the jungle but to the head of the empire
We hail the king of grammar
Who acts no drama
Praises showering from the drummers

Blessed be your day
Honoured be your years
Hope filling the years ahead
But this day just for you to conquer
We rise from the south
Joining the force from the far north and the near west
The east submits at thy foot
And we all say
Happy birthday to our brother.

Country Churchyard

The dainty hills surrounded a level slice of earth
Where cocooned in times’ misty distance
Ancient gathering concluded that this flat gift
Would provide home for their number.

At the physical, but no longer spiritual centre,
Of the village, was an old country chapel
A monument to a bygone age
Sparsely populated by gently ageing folk.

I am here for a special ceremony
The son of a friend is making his communion
A step on the road to maturity
For the young man of the moment

I sit in my pew at the rear of the chapel
Too many yummy mummies in their finery
Distracting me from the main event;
Irreverent thoughts amongst the reverence.

Presently outside into the sunshine
The young lads return to their immaturity
Bedecked in their communion suits,
Playing football in the church grounds.

Fleeting Power

Look who is trembling in the corner, helpless
As a dog that has lost its fearful bark and bite;
Man of the moment he used to be, merciless,
Endlessly going after perceived rivals in sight.

Driven by greed for power and devoid of civility,
Undoing old statutes to fit his crazed ideology,
Cast from the throne, a sorry image of a man,
King of the hill, king of clowns, is now all done.
