Autumn’s breath playfully teases
and does what it pleases
to her already mussed-up hair
as she swears it isn’t fair
to go to the dance
looking for romance
while the beauty queen
enters the scene
getting all the wow
posing for photos under the bough.
Little Ricky grew up quite nice
and all the girls would like to entice
him to perhaps grab a kiss
like some wanton miss
forgetting her manners,
becoming a seducing enchanter~
Autumn’s breath like fine wine
teases young lovers to entwine~
Now her daddy is planning
a shotgun wedding.
“All grown-ups were once children... but only few of them remember it.” ~ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
Childhood's magic once cast spells of wonder.
Wildwood berries turned to pirate's plunder.
That bright hummingbird, extraordinary,
in flight, became a wish-bestowing fairy.
Then, imagination made a carpet fly.
Men were heroes, never falling from the sky.
I miss that genie spell that lasts but twenty years.
I kiss childhood goodbye as it disappears.
Whole milk was good than it became two percent
than skim milk next, forget it being fat I was meant
Milk at breakfast and always for school lunch
milk at suppertime and at a restaurants brunch
Milk with cereal the easy breakfast meal
Chocolate milkshakes were such a big deal
First in cartons than a gallon plastic jug
Milk was one thing you never had enough of
Drink so much milk in my childhood youth
but now is an old adult milk is poo poof
Lactose intolerant or just tired of milk
vitamin D take a supplement for health
Don't eat cereal and milk seems quick to sour
for some reason milk lost its mystic power
Milk upsets my stomach and makes me go
got to take tablets and drink Pepto Bismol
Don't use milk much unless for a recipe
drinking milk now just doesn't appeal to me
Still like cheese and great ice cream
yogurt seems healthy real butter keen
So I guess I enjoy milk just in other forms
maybe milk is really for babies and newborns.
The asking
A request
No answer in the Earthly sense
Maybe that surrounds
Time frame period
How long the wait?
It seems more like hesitate
Emotionally drained
What is thought could remain
Then a higher Heavenly reply
Granted in favor
Unseen becomes seen
Test of Faith
Passing Grade

From Thy
Connected and true
Promise uncertain in the human tense
Spiritually results came through
Nothing to do but lift those praising hands
Heaven is known throughout the land.
Busy bee with fuzzy wings,
Flies around and softly
sings,
Sweetest honey home she
brings!
A rose is still just a rose.

A little steel robot named
Spark had a dream,
To join in a family and
eat some ice cream.
He watched from the
window as children would
play.
And wished he could join
them and laugh through the
day.
His dogs were all shiny, his
wires were all bright,
But he wanted a hug when
he turned off at night.
He made a cardboard heart
with a big red design,
And taped it right over his
battery line.
He walked to the park with a
hopeful metal grin,
And asked a kind family, "Can
I please fit in?"
The mother knelt down and
she patted his head,
"You don't need real skin to
be family, " she said.
The children cheered loudly
and gave him a squeeze,
While Spark felt a warmth
from his head to his knees.
He helped bake the cookies
and sweep up the floor,
And watched for the
mailman right by the front
door.
Even though made out of metal
and powered by gears,
He shared in their laughter
and wiped away tears.
He didn't need blood or a
heartbeat to strive,
The love from his family
made Spark feel alive.
warm sunshine on pale skin a cup of joe in hand
The noisy train runs down
the track.
It carries boxes on its back.
It blows out smoke both grey
and black.
Sun under skies froze to places,
Its shade of darker, runs my skin —
I thirst for lost kisses' spaces.
Sun under skies froze to places,
Bleach on clothes that mask my faces;
There light's story is forgiven —
Sun under skies froze to places,
Its shade of darker; runs my skin —
Sun rise
wet dew
morning glow
subtle hues
noontime haze
tea and crumpets
afternoon walk
good book closing
sun ending
It starts off as a tingle
A fizzy tickle in your nose
Gets up behind your eyeballs
And makes you scrunch your toes
It’s bright light that does it
That sharp, crispy kind of sun
That makes your arm hair stand on end
And your nose begin to run
Whether the weather is hot and toasty
Or cold enough to freeze
Or dry and mild; or wet and wild
The sunshine makes me sneeze
The bureaucracy of being
Can’t remember my ID
Passport data is short living
Your Police Supremacy
Choose one of the empty pages
Put your stamp and let me come
If I look disadvantageous
Kick me off to where I’m from
Passport sings your best folk song
Passport makes the man
It reveals where you belong
Who are you to them
It’s the world of nations, countries,
Guardians of the universe
I was taught to understand this
But foreseeably dispersed
It’s the world of great traditions
Sacred territories, man!
My feigned ignorance is suspicious
As their curious concern
Passport is my entropy
Passport opens gates
Or it keeps them closed for me
Cos I book no dates..
Picking twenty-five to be profound or dazzle,
concisely, causes coach's mind to frazzle.
A word choice made - "You're on my roster.
Suit up, 'snollygoster'".
God
Makes no junk, invites us to create
Love....
