Main Reason

The Main Reason why we are here, is to improve the world.
To try our endeavour best to mitigate and alleviate Malice, strife and stress in this dark world.
Not so much to attain some worthless Degree, or to achieve some useless achievement.
Not to gain more money than we could even ever spend. Not to compete for so called greatness.
But moreso to assist where and when we can and to help enlighten others.

Try to do at least One Good Deed Everyday.

Puffed with warmth for my birthday dinner treat
0n the plate of a pure veg restaurant
Tempting entree ignites the classy taste,
A delight, each bite, spread with tamarind chutney,
Together with kindred sharing stories
Of flavour, care and chefs` talents.

Savoury paneer masala
And dal makhani* served with mutter pulao
Make the main course, added with garlic nan,
Oozing with taste, a real relish,
Side-lined with pickled onions and rice kheer as desert,
A feast for the senses, a love we all share.

Friday night's main event

Subtle tee preferred the company of those in sweet repose
His presence needless to say, an easiness would impose
We tried to engage him but this seemed to enrage him
So we settled for making him the subject of this prose.

Main Street's Out-of-Order

Since last June they’ve been working our main street
waiting in lines had us all off our beat.
Now in the middle of March
can we lose any more starch?
With all four lanes closed, for routes we compete.

Perhaps next June, when the pipes all are done,
cables in place and concrete has hardened,
     all the bumps will be leveled;
we can get back on schedule.
Can a year’s aggravation be pardoned?

What is Phat Tuesday?
And Why does it make
some people mad?
Phat Tuesday or Fat Tuesday?

Still the singer sang
the music arranged in such
a soothing harmony
Still the Singer sang
the music played
the music played

The main bane on society

Restrictions; the man's enemy
They are imaginary lines
That we simply choose to abide
False walls that keep us caged away
Stopping us from doing our best
Limiting our kind constantly
Living lies which won't ever die
Being too stubborn to let go
And let mankind finally thrive
Without horrid limitations
Which cause many headaches for all
And hinder our development
But despite our better judgement
We let these road stops control us
And for no good reason at all
We stop all movement in its tracks

A windswept mist whispers possibility
trickling down cheeks of strangers as she sashays on
Main Street’s square bares a brimming moon
hammocked on a muted sundown’s casting glow
Eclipsing from view is the last café,
a perky bouquet, a lonely sojourner
fleur-de-lis— yellow iris profuse
With an unwavering discipline held
as if carrying the coat of arms
Gisèle proceeds down the rue de chagrin

Ye Dard-e-be-dawa Hai Aur Main Hoon

ye dard-e-be-dawa hai aur main hoon
magar ye dil-kusha hai aur main hoon

museebat aur lambi zindagaani
buzurgon kii dua hai aur main hoon

dayaar-e-ishq mein hoon aur labon par
tera hi tazkira hai aur main hoon

muqaddar ne nigaahen fer li hain
dukhon ka silsila hai aur main hoon

udhar to naam tera chal raha hai
idhar zikr-e-wafa hai aur main hoon

ghazal likhne chala furqat pe apni
radif-o-qaafiya hai aur main hoon

sunaau ehtishaam apni kahaani
yahan bas aaina hai aur main hoon

Premium Member Poetry Soup Main Fixings: Words

Words that stem from the heart seldom a mind,
would update fellow captives of a world
they knew--spent or saved since, much like the word
they are ... or were. Absentia defined
the heart's favor or mayhaps realigned
for its survival. Nonetheless, the heart
becomes the key element or stalwart
of their concern for life to be designed
for that world's fruition, taste a la carte.
Spent and saved ills time, victims objective;
spotlight, be recognized, and make your claim:
--author, I live, create me ... for I'm yours.
Words from the heart spur a rare perspective
melds in inkwells, mutes parchment, voice frame
heartfelt words fused presence ... eternal years.

Main Street

Living on Main Street
 life keeps on flowing,

Monday mornings
 trucks pound the pavement
shaking awake the apartments and homes
regardless of the hour, ever on the ride
 moving, trucking along.

Here, you can see the world go by
at its best, at its worst,

Sleepers on the street wake
 pushed along by ignoring crowds
 rushing, hurrying to and from
 home to work
 work to home.

Where do they come from
where was their place in life before this?

Parked cars give up their time
 metering's expire
 they move on
just a little down the line
or just across to the other side.

So many now
 make this their home,

Wanderers, wanderings, survival
from the havens that once were
 to this point
 a journey taken up
by necessity, loss of hope, help for the body and the soul.

This is Main Street living
on the threshold of future pasts.

Premium Member The Church Is the Main Thing

The church is the main thing
but for most today this isn't true
reject it's message of hope and faith
not liking the picture that's in view

The church is the main thing
complaints that it's so middle-class
no time for the poor or the destitute
just looking after number one, so flash

The church is the main thing
many think it's the building that counts
but scripture shows it's the people
that's the true church at the fount

The church is the main thing
for God says He'll build it to stand
even hell can't tear it down
check its label to see the maker's brand

The church is the main thing
wherever the crowd decides to meet
at Church Street or on Main Street
Christ came to redeem His elect wing

The church is the main thing
God's love is poured out upon it
such perfect love, only He can bring
so man will seek salvation from the pit

(Church Street and Main Street are the two most common street names in the USA, so I have written this to bring these two names together with a real meaning to what they could mean to many folk.)
