Gorgeousness

Arranged by their color, the tulips await
Every camera phone holder to stop
And capture in photos the dazzling array,
All varieties planted to pop:

The lipstick-bright reds and magentas and rose,
The velvet-like purples and types
Like the traffic-light yellows, the whites edged with pink
And some two-tones with contrasting stripes.

There were daffodils, too, and some blossoming trees,
All this gorgeousness out on display
In a park near my home with no airport involved –
Just a lovely walk taken today.

Memories of You

Memories of You
You’re more than just a memory tucked deep within my heart
you’re the brilliance of the sunrise that cues the day to start.
You’re the rustle of the wind blowing softly through the trees,
the music of a wind chime dancing on an evening breeze.
You’re a symphony of robins returning in the spring
 the lyrics and the melodies
of the love songs that they sing.
You’re the freshness of a summer rain
on a hot and humid day
cleansing and renewing, washing the heat away.
You’re the colors of the autumn leaves
 magentas, red and gold
that lend a hint of cheerfulness
 before winter claims its’ hold.
You’re the silence of the first snowfall
 the sparkle of snowflakes
the shimmer of the ice that creeps
 across unsuspecting lakes.
You’re the magic in a Christmas tree
 the twinkle of the lights
 the ribbons, bows and holly
 that makes the season bright.
You’re the shadow of the moon,
the luster of the stars
the radiance of the sun telling the day to start
you’re more than just a memory
you’re the soul within my heart.

Ephemera

There’s a box lying somewhere.
Somewhere in a dusty cupboard.
Somewhere behind old paper, older words, and wounds older still.
Somewhere no one can find it.

I think about it, sometimes.

Sometimes, when I breathe.
Sometimes, when I exhale puffs of grey smoke and let those rashes bleed.
Sometimes, when in the dead of night, my lashes are wet.
Sometimes, when I’m looking somewhere, lost and stumble upon a sunset.

Apples and peaches,
Magentas and vermilions,
Pearls and emeralds,
all strewn across a cobalt, teal sky.
The sky you loved.
I drown in it when no one’s looking.
No one would understand, anyway.

I miss them reflected in that shard of glass we held together.

The one that broke, in giggles and hysterics, that very summer.
The one that I, upon a whim, hid in a wooden chest.
The one that I, with trembling hands, unlatched years later.
Long after you had left.

And it’s much too late
to go back
Much too late.

the painting popped like fiber optics
like fluorescents, like neon acrylics
in hot pinks, magentas, turquoise and tangerines
with the precise amount of purples to make the hibiscus glow
I was entranced by this beauty!

Beautiful-'Lavender Love'

Lavender Love

Within sensual seductive skies
Our lasting love flamingly flies
Choral colors of romantic rainbows
Creating canvas’s in melodic meadows

I call on thee cascading colors divine
Soaking in magentas of worldly wine
Dining with angels in frolicking fields
Dancing daffodils as their yellow yields

Lightly lavender surrendering sunrise
Exploding ecstasy thru enchanted eyes
Breathing in breaths of evolving embrace
Our molten melting love in sultry space

Blue-green indigo violet and ready red
Our palette of love is faithfully fed.

Happy Valentines Day...

A Perfect Sunrise

A Perfect Sunrise

If I was appointed the task of creating
The sunrise you see everyday
On the horizon when your eyes first open
I’d prepare the finest display

Every color that makes you feel happy
Would be every one I would place
Neither a cloud nor a rain drop to shadow
Nothing so dark you could trace

I’d take my brush and I’d paint you a picture
So wondrous each day you arise
Then every dawn as the morning did greet you
You’d see a perfect sunrise

Oranges, yellows and pinks and magentas
Placed on a canvas of blue
Softly your eyes they would find in the heavens
This beauty your eyes come to view

So like a garden a’ bloom with its flowers
A bouquet of promises free
Sent with affection so that every morning
Your first thought will always be me

Open your eyes and you’ll see what I offer
There upon magical skies
I send you my love in the light of the morning
A’ flow in a perfect sunrise

Happiness waits, sitting outside your window
As morning so soon it does start
Put on a smile and welcome the sunrise
Sent from the depths of my heart

Good morning Soupers

Spring

As we transcend snowy bright mountains that thrill the adrenaline seekers
Buds spring up around the foothills of these mountains and
populate themselves by way of white bells and other lovely flowers
making themselves well known in summer months by their scent that wafts upon billows of breezes

This is the time of cherry blossom trees that line our street in a symphony
A riotous coloured canvas splashed with magentas, thalo, and cobalt hues
if a symphony were playing it might be Ode to Spring by Benjamin Britten

each season has its beauties
Is gifts for the eye and the body
My favourite is spring
As it sometimes not so meekly melts the snow with vengance.
