A herald announced the joyous news that a king was to visit my hometown!
Jerusalem was abuzz anticipating seeing a royal king wearing a regal crown!
I could visualize his majesty arriving on a prancing Arabian steed,
Or being borne upon a lavishly bespangled camel of exceptional breed!
I'd also heard that kings were borne in magnificent coaches gilt with gold,
And that with great pomp and blaring trumpets their procession was foretold!
This I wanted to see so I joined the milling throng and got a curbside seat.
Thousands of jubilant celebrants lined both sides of the city's dusty street!
"Here He comes!" shouted the crowd! "Hosanna In The Highest!" they cried!
I strained my neck hoping to see a king clad in purple robes, a nations pride!
The crowd spread their cloaks and waved palm fronds along the mews.
Shouting "Hosanna To Christ The King! The promised Messiah of Good News!"
This king wore a simple gown and rode a donkey for His transportation!
(A prophet, Zecharia, said He'd ride one for this triumphal celebration!)
As he passed I fell to my knees! He looked directly at ME, smiled and waved!
From that moment I became His disciple; straight paths for me He has paved!
The man next to me said, "This Man, this King, was born in a stable cave,
And that of His power to heal the ailing, blind and lame He freely gave!"
Unlike earthly kings He even promised eternal life for a sinner like me!
From this day forward I will forever follow that Good Man from Galilee!

She used to think she should have but she did not
Living with regrets from one side of the house to another
They followed her home and built a wall around her world
A friend who never held back, who lived her truth, who said what she meant
Got murdered
This got her to thinking
that life is short
So she began to say what she felt she should say
She began living the life she wanted to live
She turned her life around
Doing and saying what felt right in her heart
Not overthinking how others might take it
As a consequence, she began to like herself more
and others liked her better also.
Inner peace was had
thanks to a sad death of a friend
Have you ever wanted to recapture the child you use to be?
Who would ride a bike out in the rain?
or climb the highest tree?
The child who believed in the magic of Santa Claus
Who never wondered why when you looked up on a moonless night
you saw starfish in the sky.
The child who discovered castles in the clouds,
who for no reason would start to sing,
who was able to find beauty in the tiniest of things?
Who….could sit for hours…upon hours
watching a butterfly
or a bee?
Whose world was one of love
and kindness
and generosity?
Have you ever thought
in a world that’s filled with hatred
with wars
and bigotry
that perhaps now is the time to recapture
that child we use to be.
Last night my tortured mind did wander
Imagined all the Hollywood starlets
Wanted to squeeze me and cover me with kisses
My body was their ultimate target
Now I know I have this amazing physique
Young girlies would really die for
But we all must conduct ourselves with order
There's enough of me to share and more
Long as my heart is able to hold out
My all night stands still apply
The stamina I possess is famous worldwide
Some would love to love like this guy
They're writing books bout my incredible stamina
How I'm able to go on for hours
It all comes down to an oversexed libido
That gives me these extraordinary powers
Seriously thinking of loaning myself out
At five hundred bucks per session
Taking requests by email and by phone
But I must be in bed by eleven
Can't have girlies under my blankets past eleven
Need my beauty sleep every night
Get ready for another day of teaching sex
But whoa, what a great life despite

I transformed Iowa’s meadows and forests overnight
Changing her children’s delight at first snow to fear of the cold
Gloating and laughing, I introduced some to frost bite.
What did I care if their pinky toes fell off?
That’s enough, my husband said.
What did he know? I whirled away, flicking him with ice.
I was not finished for I did not want to merely be a blizzard.
I wanted to be the worst snow blizzard in Iowa’s history.
I slickened their streets with the blackest of invisible ice.
I allowed icicles to drip from the roofs of their houses.
Their snow was piling up now, in five foot snow drifts.
Was I finished? My husband asked me. Ha!
I swirled up my snow and shot a snowball into his eye.
My winds picked up speed; I was on a roll.
I tossed snow so thickly in the air that the drivers could not see.
The freeways and schools were closed.
I waited all day long for the radio to say worst snowstorm in history.
Little did I know it would take about two years before I heard this.
In the meantime I kept things snowy, icy, and impassible.
Reveling in my power. Oh, I took down the power lines too. A fantastic time!
Sleep, dearest angel of peace.
The Lord wanted you home.
We do not why such love from us
was by a gun taken.
We will go on, till God says……
it is our time and turn.
Then we can see Charlie again and
With joy, dance,
Amongst the stars with great joy!
Be of good cheer, till we are in heaven!
By following God’s commands each day,
You shall never, by God be forsaken!

Every day I wake up,
And every day I remember
The way you left me with no warning
Fleeing like a dog off its leash
It was my 13th birthday
I suppose that’s when fear settled in,
abandonment followed
Filling every pore of my body
Though this wasn’t the first time,
Definitely wouldn’t be the last
I only wish I knew,
What made you leave?
Was it me?
Was it because you thought I was better off without you?
Because I wasn’t
I wanted my father to love me, to see me, to hold me
But all I got was your absence
So, I let my imagination fill your role, because what else was I supposed to do?
It worked for a while, until I grew tired
I guess you did too
Now, I know why you didn’t look back
Or try to say goodbye
Gone in a flash
i couldn't find sesame street on my G.P.S
it was somewhere down by electric ave i guess
but every time i put in where i wanted to go
i ended up somewhere in the 91210
i thought that was quite odd
that i keep ending up on holly wood blvd.
i figured it had to be in cali somewhere
so i walked around til i bumped into the fresh prince of bellere
so i ask him to point in the right direction if he could
he said! you must go thru mr rogers nieghborhood
but i must have taken the wrong turn you know
cause i ended up right in the middle of south central
i continued up the shore to the streets of san fransico
and came to find out that no one really knows
cause i posed the question to everyone i came to meet
can you show me how to get --how you get to seseme street
" My mother wanted me to be her wings, to fly as she was unable to. I love the fact that she wanted to give birth to her own wings. " -Erica Jong
Oh, your countenance in dawns graceful light
offers the imagination a lofty throne
an angel? goddess? not meant for human sight
yet, you are here beside me, alone
like rich, translucent cream with a ripe, fuzzy peach
Your face enticing my hands to reach
to gently brush shiny locks of hair away
putting every aspect of your beauty and grace on display
How long will I be allowed to behold my daughter this way?
It's like your world is ending
Everything comes crashing down
Can't catch your breath
Down, down, down you drown
Waking in the morning
To another dreaded day
Going through the hustle
Just to keep the pain at bay
Escaping is what you want
You numb yourself just to survive
Hating the world when you're sober
Hate yourself for getting high
Oh yeah-This hollowed life of lies
Going through the rituals
Crushing up your dreams
Drawing back within yourself
That icy devil makes you scream
The storm rages deep inside
Harboring all your guilt and shame
Fighting a losing battle
You think it's too late to change
You hate the world when you're sober
Hate yourself for getting high
Numbing as a way of living
Living your hollowed life of lies
Then one day you see
Someone who used to use
They were happy
No longer broken and confused
They tell you of a man
Who washed away their sins
They had found peace
Oh yeah- found peace within Him
You were tired of the hatred
You were tired of getting high
You were tired of living
Living your hollowed life of lies
You asked for forgiveness
You were hungry for more
You wanted what they had
They had opened the door
Now you're walking free
Free from the shame and guilt
With Jesus in your heart
You had been rebuilt
No more hating the world
No longer getting high
You laid your pain at His feet
You escaped that hollowed life of lies
