When we met, we were like two peas in a pod
I always thought that love at first sight was odd
Our days of love and laughter slowly faded
In the end we both felt degraded
Many times, we would argue over pure nonsense
It seems we were both a little bit dense
When our children asked for us both to try
All the both of us could do was cry
It was at the point of an unfixable relationship
Time had come; we had to both get a grip
A grip on reality, a grip on our lives
We were just two (together) dull knives
So, the time had come to do what was best
It was time to put "us two" to rest
We gave each other a hug, and we went our separate ways
Now honestly, me, her, and our children- have better days
The
fire within you
devours my hopeful
aspirations…I shiver
with freezing
hopelessness
Give me your heart
and let me fill it
with affectionate
bliss for eternity
Countless déjà vus
unleashes in my
brain
Don’t hang up the
phone – hang out
with me; don’t leave
me hanging in
downright distress
Why do you try to be
bring me down and
lift me up again?
We’re two peas in a
pod…we both yearn
for God’s healing
rain
Don’t let the words
slip out of your
mouth and let there
be light! Envy
becomes serpentine
in my lost soul,
going out of control
– it’s tearing my
heart apart and it’s
making me taste
unfortunate appeal
and despair that's
beyond real - but
it's no big deal
*chorus*
Biting my fingers,
leaving scars of
shame…feeling this
shame without a
name…you hunt me
down like game…I
caught the cold in
my brokenhearted
soul of steel and
stone
I can’t be close to
you…you were the
ghosts of my past…I
loved you the most,
but I learned to
find the light at
the end of tunnel
I know…I can’t stand
living a life
without you by my
side…I live half a
life…you make me
feel whole again –
you’re my other half
and I feel empty
without your
touch…your warm
hands locking with
my own
Who’s waiting at my
front door – two
uninvited strangers
– Regret and
Remorse… I was lost,
but now I’m found –
I crumble
I crumble into sand
– I was once a
strong-willed,
unbreakable rock…but
now Tragedy has
proven me wrong all
the way
Don’t let the words
slip out of your
mouth and let there
be light! Envy
becomes serpentine
in my lost soul,
going out of control
– it’s tearing my
heart apart and it’s
too hard to
comprehend or bear
*chorus*
I hate to say this,
but from the bottom
of my heart, I knew
you were hiding
something from me –
maybe it’s not meant
to be revealed
today…tomorrow, I’m
expecting to have a
word with you if you
would humanely obey
and cooperate with
me without picking a
fight – ruining my
self-esteem

Troubled waters - in my eyes
The rolling caps of those treacherous waves
Like a victim - to the dark black clouds
The thunder - and thus lightening strikes
Bewildered - each day one only tries
One comes to shore - one only concludes
That in those dark clouds may you see light
In the tunnel - and may I wake each day
To an aura of sunshine in my way
And may the sun then warmth my soul
In turn - seeing myself - I am whole
I walked those roads mile after mile
And climbed mountains also to the peak
Crossed bridges even in my mind
Yet what I see - what I then find
Happiness so difficult to partake
And each morning then that I wake
Shall I smell the roses as if to say
That life dreary it be, I want the bouquet
And I pick the petals - I cherish the thought
That's still so true, love can really never be bought
that those special little things mean the most
But I perceive - you love the storm
And I prefer the sun so ever warm
Two peas in a pod? no not true indeed
I cultivate and destroy the weed
Lifting spirits - to brighten my day
The lightening strikes all of our lives
But unless you look for the gift I see
That the sun ! I ponder the sunlight
Mesmerized by the beauteous radiant rays
And life can be treasured in several ways.
We look both the same how could this be
Two peas in a pod that's you and me
When we were babies we both dressed the same
The only thing different I suppose was our name.
I was called Pete and you was called Paul
Time went so fast we grew very tall
We're much older now but still look the same
Two peas in a pod with a different name.
I remember one day when Paul was at school
He did something wrong he broke the school rule
The next day came but Pete got the blame
Two peas in a pod they both look the same.
Paul had a girlfriend she was so very nice
But when she saw Pete she had to look twice
She said Pete are you Paul, he thought and said yes
She gave him a kiss so he had to confess.
I'm sorry Pete said I think your confused
I'm not really Paul, she wasn't amused
You're like two peas in a pod you both look the same
Who am I dating I'm going insane.

No matter communication
betwixt us askew,
spontaneity explains reason I dashed
off this poem for thee and thy beau
pattern ally conscious at obvious clue,
how overjoyed, (though a
self subdued exclude did dude) due
tuff fully feels beholden to
toil let past hateful indiscretions
jackknifing kindred luck,
and quite convenient
for me to eschew
avoidance behaviour (my specialty) etu
Brutus tangled with Popeye ignoring
sailor man turned beastie boy, no foo-
ling, sans spinach (spin age) of my boyhood
fighter, aye linkedin hearty genuine parental
affection culled forth
since your joyous birth,
ah how the years flew
and fierce determination grew
a strong vibrant young lady,
with BOTH brains and brawn, a hue
man... er woman, whose
heart could melt an igloo,
thus thy motive of this
very reformed gentile Jew
nary a whit of genealogy I learned,
hence this schlemiel lets
out eclectic Kathmandu
gestalt steeped, not the
least familiar about Semitic customs,
smidgen much less
than mine parents knew,
which deems yours truly cock eye loo
wee, perhaps this poem
not very a moo
zing to ye, yet
an extemporaneous whim
kindled this papa to write,
especially, when mother came home
exhausted, yet alight
with bubbling ebullience
at dazzling bright
unbridled vibrant warm
yawping zealous delight
displayed between thee,
our eldest daughter,
she (mother) burst with excite
ability, her frothing, gurgling,
and harboring flight
of fancy, thee, and respectable
gentleman from Puerto Rico
fit like a hand glove - and also
approximately the same height
no deterrent for me to gauge insight
and reckon both perfect
as day and knight!
Green peas and all kinds of beans
are split open to release their seeds,
like those peas in a green pod,
that mother cooked in a huge pot!
One of my dad's friends who wore a veteran's brooch,
would shamelessly cheat to get a delicious split-pea soup;
mom didn't know he was a cheater, and surely would have hit him
with the wooden dough roller when he peaked with a grim!
And mom slowly stirred the vegetable soup,
she used to say, " The longer it cooks, the better it tastes! '
And my mouth was drooling to taste those soft peas...
that I took out of the seeds' casings without miscue!
Mother rushed in the kitchen with a roar of an enraged lion,
" That idiot is playing no fair game! He is a menace to all!
And he passes glasses of brandy to get everybody drunk! "
" He wants to win no matter what the cost...oh, clever maven! "
The split-pea soup steams like a hot volcano erupting,
the cover of the pot blows off, " What a mess on my stove! " mom screams...
" It's all his fault that I am in this state! " she continues yelling...
" I still hear his big mouth mocking...wait 'till I have finished cooking these peas! "

I wonder why I feel so bubbly inside...in laughter, I cried, without you though...I feel the need to hide
But...why are you so sad today? Was it my fault possibly? Did I do you wrong? If I did, I'm awfully sorry...
Let the negativity subside...we are going along with life's bumpy ride...oh compassionate companion, stay by my side!
Are you by my side like the dolphin with the wild-and-free sea?
I feel sleepy, yet I'm still awake
I'm falling in love with a peaceful sleep
Don't be teary...you got to hit the brake
Be happy and be not afraid..oh please don't weep
I'm swimming in waters so deep
The benevolent imaginary friends are speaking lullabies to me...every story's beginnings has its ends
Keep your head up above the surface...
Wear a smile for a moment and drink in bliss
Don't wear that grimace...
Rise above the surface...
My marvelous, angelic mermaid
Don't let your unique gladness fade
Don't be weighed down
By a friend's betrayal
Don't be lead astray ...don't let your gaily spirits drown
You must stand tall through it all
There's a wall between us
Yet...we're on the same rowdy bus
Don't fret, dear love of mine
You got to keep trying...you will do fine
On your own
But...you're never, ever alone
If you need me, I'm just a call away
I'll paint your midnight skies the light of day
So, don't be doused in dismay,
Darling...oh friend, we were both born on the month of May
It was meant to be that way
We are two peas in a pod all the way...I'll be there tomorrow's yesterday
No wonder I feel so bubbly inside
Heartbroken lass bereft of eminent beau
papa doth vicariously experience her
(mine daughter's) grievous woe.

Favorable and a faithful young lady indeed! She’s compassionate, bright, positive, confident, easygoing, single-minded and humble (unlike Charity) and she’s the mother of Joy’s niece!
(I won’t tell you all her name…I’ll leave it as an anonymous thing until later on of course)
A pretty, prudent, humble and joyous individual, bearing all of the traits her sisters lack: hope, joy, charity, and so much more! Above all, this is the trait she builds up before she passes away: TRUE, GENUINE, & TREASURABLE LOVE
I believe she evidently found the love in her life…a boy that’s poor in the world’s standards, but rich in heart…he shares most of the traits she has and he has some she doesn’t have…and vise versa! They were like two peas in a pod and they were destined to be with each other for eternity (strangers to best friends to a cute, charming couple)!
Tranquilizing like a violin her voice is! She’s a surprise at every corner! She has a priceless, graceful voice greater than many! She’s unpredictable and untamed with enthusiasm and curiosity (much like her daughter) and takes it on another level!
Has a hilarious side of her, though she’s too bashful about it getting out of control in front of everyone, including some of her family and friends . . . She brushes her hair to try to let go of the embarrassment she feels inside; likewise, she’s grooming away the gloom in her solitary bedroom and wants her sister, Charity, to reflect upon her for one (she feels left out when she’s hanging around her because she’s self-centered and doesn’t notice her, only herself)! She refuses and breaks her heart, once pumping with plenty of effulgent, extra-incredible exuberance – thanks a thousand for your ignorance, Charity! Have a giving heart like Faith, thumping with triumph, thundering wonder and thanksgiving! All 4 of the sisters should gather and preserve faith forevermore!
A few days ago,
I had you in my arms
We were in your Honda car...
We didn't go too far...too far...
We used to make each other laugh
Until one of us falls down and coughs
I'm afraid I lost you long ago...
Losing touch of you reduces me to woe
Maybe someday,
We'll be together again
I would be your tiger on a gold leash
I promise I won't let go
Until you let me know
That you've forgotten about me
Then, I'd leave you be...
Like the waves of the sea
Hmmm mmmm...
Ohhhh ooooh...
Just stay with me for a minute or two
I miss you all the way - this is true
We were two peas in a pod - now, that is true
I got to face the music
I know our time was epic
But, I need to forget about you
Forgive me with no trace of rue
Maybe someday,
We'll be together again
I would be your tiger on a gold leash
I promise I won't let go
Until you let me know
That you've forgotten about me
Then, I'd leave you be...
Like the waves of the sea
Hmmm mmmm...
Ohhhh ooooh...
All this time,
I've grown accostumed to you
Succumbing to the fact that I'd be nothing without you
You are priceless, for you mean so much to me
You are pure happiness, so will you set me free?
Maybe someday,
We'll be together again
I would be your tiger on a gold leash
I promise I won't let go
Until you let me know
That you've forgotten about me
Then, I'd leave you be...
Like the waves of the sea
Hmmm mmmm...
Ohhhh ooooh...
Maybe someday,
We'll be together again
I would be your tiger on a gold leash
I promise I won't let go
Until you let me know
That you've forgotten about me
Then, I'd leave you be...
Like the wicked wind, you'll flee
Hmmm mmmm...
Ohhhh ooooh...
Maybe someday,
We'll be together again
I would be your tiger on a gold leash
I promise I won't let go...
