NOTE:THIS IS AN OPEN(organic) FORM VERSE using spaces&breaks without grammatical symbols ,the ' open' relies upon 'the one breath limitation' & so inherently requires the 'reader' (reciter) to input and responds thus making this enigmatic form a two way interplay & interpretatIon unique to the moment& changing according to mood is inherently variable.

A swinging sixties chick was I dressed head to toe in Biba
Miniskirts my mother loathed and free love too, so I was told
Music of choice was Motown and Soul that played upon my radio
At weekends tuned to Saturday Club a programme never missed
Radio Luxembourg each night, though signal crackled and hissed
Reception was weak as twilight approached, with my radio under my sheet
At the foot of the stairs Mum’s voice could be heard
“Turn that radio off, and go to sleep”
In ‘62 a pirate ship launched off the Essex coast
Radio Caroline was her name, with young DJ’s as programme hosts
Innovators of their time, played songs we loved the most
Enjoying the challenge, but taking a risk each time they went ashore
Deemed illegal ~ no license had they, so were technically breaking the law
Trailblazing times enhancing our lives, playing songs never heard of before
these songs were the soundtracks of my youth
these songs I love and adore...
Tony Blackburn their first DJ; a handsome young fella back in the day
The first DJ to spin his discs whilst bobbing around on the pirate ships
At 77 still playing his songs and boring the nation with corny quips
on ‘Sounds of the Sixties’ every Saturday morn
he plays the tunes
I singalong...
I sent a request for his 'Magic Moments' spot
feeling sure it would end up in his 'magic melting pot'
Our 'Magic Moment' in '63, as we danced the night away
at the Regent Ballroom, Brighton, on a floor made of wooden parquet
was it love at first sight on a midsummer’s night
by the light of the silvery moon...
As we danced to the Chiffons 'He’s so Fine' it became our special tune
When Tony played our 'Magic Moment' on his radio show
I could hardly believe my ears
then my eyes filled up with tears
for my darling he has gone ~ for he died ten years ago
Written on 1st December 2018
after hearing my request played upon the Radio...

HONOURABLE MENTION
A meadow awaits its springtime march
where my feet wander along
like one holy pilgrimage: a nettle drifts
without blame or sense of pity,
leaves lingering on trunks reddened
by the kiss of clay glossy
in a mad desire to wake, wake
dawn flowing with herbage.
I trace how flaming in amber this weed
crawls in wild, unbridled streaks
of lightened mud, part ground, part wind :
Twilight sings the break of newborn day
where this nettle crawls alone, not lonely;
its slithering frame posed to rule over blooms
a nymph perhaps trailblazing in abandon--
that being in this ethereal space rouses
both pleasure and piety within my bones…
while the soil's womb bears more weeds.
“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” – Genesis 6:5, KJV.
We mortals are endowed
with the ability to IMAGINE
both good and evil.
Notwithstanding, you and I
were made for more.
Given power to IMAGINE;
To do good and great things;
To go places;
To touch lives.
It's imperative that we make the best of the journey
as we begin the long quest toward our destiny. One
must learn to navigate whatever waters appear.
Troubled waters are certain with stormy winds,
sometimes more forceful than we would IMAGINE.
Notwithstanding, imagination will often be our
driving force, 'our wheel in the middle of the wheel',
that gets us to our destiny.
To IMAGINE is to believe, to think, to expect.
When the desired reality is light years away,
visualize, have faith, and chose God to be the
center and the root of what we want most in life.
Things unplanned and unimaginable circumstances
will tirelessly seek to inundate our pathway,
and blind our vision of the goals we seek.
We will question our very own hearts and soul.
Doubts and questions will invade our chosen space,
causing us to second-guess our college of choice,
our chosen career, creating fear that floods our
ability to see, focus, IMAGINE, and seek
God's guidance.
Nevertheless, we must not cease to pursue,
to IMAGINE, to wrap our hearts around
the object of our affection. History says
that 'we cannot'. 'Imagination says we can'.
The closer we get to our destiny, we will
watch it unfold with a smile that dries the tears
of the past. We will look back and notice
the pattern that we could not clearly see in
those energetic and trailblazing years.

Since the dawn of time it was illustrating
One was dominating
The other was failing
There was no relating
Only hating
And instigating
All this debating
And complaining
With poor negotiating
To the youth, what are we demonstrating?
So much division and not a lot of aiding
Sure there is some trading
But there is also raiding
And invading
To this day, time has shown and been displaying
It's dismaying
Opportunities seized or are fading
Does no good to just be waiting
People playing
People saying
Strange things
Evil in the making
Homages their paying
As they partake in praying
On the go or staying
Peaceful or always preying
Money continually draining or saving
To the system still slaving
Soon to be caving
And misbehaving
One's own path they're paving
And trailblazing
Or they are just waiving
Never braving
Always giving into cravings
Wasting
Always in last they are placing
Too many people shading
And shaming
Truth is life is fascinating
And entertaining
Yet it is also devastating
And frustrating
With other lifeforms, I am communicating
Continually sailing
Working towards prevailing
As I keep aging
The body slowly degrading
In my heart it's always raining
But I am not complaining
Occasionally stargazing
Still facing any undertaking
Life I'm embracing
B.S. I can no longer be chasing
Look around, life can be beautiful and amazing
I Traversed the Inner Universe Deep Within my Soul
and Slayed the Dragon Oppressor up on it's High Horse,
It seemed Prophetic
To Rise Into the Greater Nature, Balancing Scales for the Cosmic
Destined To Ride
Saddled Up, Ever-Onward through the Fire
Illuminating Attire of Gold, Light and Sapphire
Ascending Ever-Brighter, Ever-Higher
It seemed Fate had found me through Perdition
Reborn into Wings of No Religion,
Trailblazing Cosmic Realms, Blitzing Through the Heavens
Scintillating in Salvation for All Brethren,
Expelling The Darkness, A Revolutionary Exodus
Illumination is the Calling, I Rendezvous with Excellence
I Rise like Lazarus through the Muck and Grime
Lotus Born, I let my Eight Petals Shine
Burning Flames from the Heart, Sparked the Soul to Life
I AM Cosmo Man, I Am Star Bright
And There, in the Abyss where the Great Mystery Dwells
where Time is as Ancient as it's Magic Spell,
Above the Threshold, Beyond the Great Divide
I AM One with The Source, One with the Divine
Trodding towards The Gates Of The Promise land
Through The Valleys Of Shambala, The Sacred Heart Of Man
Where Many are Called, but only a Few Still Ride
The Wild, The Chosen, Crusaders Of Light
Summoned By Destiny, Tribe Of Judah and Jerusalem
Herald The Trumpets, Returns The Spirit Of Bethlehem
Freedom
The world is spinning upside down
Take your beliefs
And toss them outside the window
Let your hair flow free
Raise your hands and shout
It's another day and we're runnin'
Livin' life on the edge
High on life and high on speed
We're a trailblazing people
Take a breath
Can you feel it?
Everything is going black and white
The lights are flashing
Reality is bouncing before your eyes
Let your muscles tense
Everything is going end over end
Livin' life on the edge
High on life and high on speed
We're a path creating people
Take a breath
Can you smell it?
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Feel the wind in your hair
The caress of the wild side
It's quite beautiful
But not as beautiful
As the freedom we allow ourselves
Take a chance, take a swing
Can't get a grand slam without trying
And take a deep breath
We're going again
The world is spinning upside down
The lights are flashing
So toss them outside the window
Let your muscles tense
Raise your hands and shout
Livin' life on the edge
High on life and high on speed
We're a path creating people
Take a breath
Can you go again?
I am fire and rhapsody in my private chambers.
Inside out, I am flourishing, animated, and measured.
My heart pumps owning the same conviction at age 15.
My hormonal sexual splendor surely must be the same
dense river I swam at 20.
In the mirror, I see only my ardor dancing,
my uncontainable flourish advancing.
As usual, I’m a firebird at the supermarket.
Trailblazing each aisle, I come to the dairy section.
The milk I buy is always on the lowest shelf of the frig.
Each gallon I inspect expired 3 days ago.
Swinging the frig door wide, I kneel before the milk.
I inspect gallons until I find one that hasn’t expired.
My rigid wooden kneecaps grind against the floor tile.
I extract the bottle, slowly rising to stand
and my glasses slide off.
I somehow snatch them before they fall on the floor.
I turn to place the bottle in my cart.
“Do you need help?”
She’s a face full of glowing concern.
That’s all I see.
“No, I think I’ve got it.
I’m always dropping my glasses.”
This archangel of milk bottles
vanishes.
My wings of fire are only cinders now.
The reason is plain to see.
From outside in, my expiration date has passed.
To the delight of the sky,
in its little place to abide.
Along side the great expanse,
is a great divide.
As a face to peer expression,
not less.
In a cheerily sheer convection
of infectious activity, not bereft of the virulence
that will be under test, testimony adherence.
The moon beaming, proud, portaled in.
