Somewhere along the way,
I lost my me.
Where did he go?
He must be somewhere inside of me.
I know he’s in there somewhere;
Hiding behind the Dad I became much too early.
Or perhaps behind the façade of the professional
businessman I had to become to meet life’s obligations.
Come on out me.
Where are you?
I heard him crying the other day while I was reading “Old Yellow” to my son.
I heard him chuckling this morning when listening to the “Knock, Knock” song on the
radio I intentionally left on “Kids Place Live” after dropping my son off at school.
I caught just a glimpse of him in the mirror I passed rushing into the family room to
catch the kickoff of the Super Bowl.
But he always scampers and hides from me when my son needs to be tucked in;
Or my wife needs help around the house;
Or the mailman drops off more bills to be paid;
Or my phone dings with another email from work;
Or … whatever “or” happens to be happening.
My me used to be so fun.
My me used to be so spontaneous.
My me used to get up in the morning and be out of the house before anyone else
got up.
I hope my me comes out again sometime soon.
I think I would like to meet him again before it is too late.

Time is winding down
And the Big Game is ready to put a smile on a wintry frown
A Chief represents the A F see
While the 49ers are the National wannabees
Television has all the cameras set
And NFL’s new city are completing their bets
A six pack here and Doritos there
This has become a yankee tradition since people care
San Fran has its pans to handle
And the Chiefs being leaders are carrying the burning candles
Those looking for Callie fornia gold planted a three and the bay city nuggets look good indeed
Saint Patrick did not want any of that
When he added a seven-point end zone sequence before he sat
Then with a little luck St. Patrick was able to get back the ball and a three-point kick was made without a flaw
But those in greed had the need the roll down the field and score a Canadian major
Leveling this championship wager
Tied at ten the first half ended in a fast pace that should have been commended.
After the entertaining half time show
San Francisco came out on the go
First it was an innocent three
Followed by a ten-point lead
St Patrick threw it to the wrong man
And the Chiefs started to feel like they were in a jam
Then with the fourth quarter being played
The Chiefs went on a war path one could say
Putting together two good drives
That showed they were still alive
And then with only a pylon to worry about
The Mo town boys had a lot to shout about
Williams went in for the TD hurrah for Tom, Huck and Bet Key
And after a video review seven points were on the scoreboard
Making Mark Twain laugh and roar
They may not have an arch in the arrowhead
Just the Lombardi Trophy from the Packer guy who I remind you is dead
Congratulations Hunt family on the feat
That kept the Midwest with a stimulating heartbeat
Rural America this one is for you
Hopefully the winner is as true as the red, white and blue.

Super Bowl Halftime Show Fleecing Theme;
"pRINCESS conjures up demons,
for her grammy (Lilith) and plays on your
emotion to not consider what is wrong or evil
or family worthy.
In the midst of the bright lights and cheers
of the crowd,
a princess takes the stage,
casting her hypnotic shroud.
Her words dance like demons,
with eros ascending to the clouds-
playing with our emotioned glands,
with harps, tabarets and cymbals,
drums to chakra your heart
beguiling us with illusion,
and persuasion's dark arts.
We cling to her melody, lost in her spell,
blinded to the darkness that lurks,
wishing us to dwell there with her.
She conjures up emotions, tugging at our core,
but behind the glamour lies a twisted lore.
Beware, dear soul, of the princess so bold,
for her burrowed borrow deceives,
leaving our spirits cold.
Let not her song lead you astray,
but heed the call of truth,
before it's too late and you serpently sway."

THE GAME REQUIRES DETERMINATION.
ALONG WITH LUCK AND SKILL.
YOU PROVE YOURSELF OVER TIME
THAT YOU CAN FULFILL THE BILL.
YOU SAID YOU WANTED
TO PLAY THE GAME.
AND CLAIMED YOU HAD A
REASON.
YOU VOWED TO DO YOUR
VERY BEST.
THROUGH OUT THE ENTIRE
SEASON.
YOU'RE THE CAPTAIN ON THE FIELD.
SELECTED TO LEAD THE TEAM.
COLLECTIVELY FOCUSED ON
THE SUPER BOWL.
YOU MARCH THEM TOWARDS
THEIR DREAM.
THERE WERE BATTLES
IN THE TRENCHES.
PUNISHMENTS WERE DEALT.
ALL THROUGH OUT THE SEASON
INJURIES WERE FELT.
YOU PLEDGED TO PROTECT
THE AIRWAYS.
WITH THE INTERCEPTED PASS.
I SAW YOU HAD YOUR EXTRA
FUN.
WHEN YOU WERE TALKING TRASH
YOU PUT IN MANY HOURS.
YOUR WORKOUTS TOTALED TONS.
WHEN EVERYONE WORKED HARD
TOGETHER , VICTORIES WERE
MUCH MORE FUN.
YOU PUSH YOURSELF AND
TEAM MATES.
TO FOCUSED ON THE GAME
YOU PLAYED AMONG THE CRAZY
CROWDS.
AND YOU'RE STILL CONSIDERED SANE.
HEAD COACH UNDER PRESSURE.
HE MANAGES TO KEEP YOUR COOL.
HE LOOKS INTO HIS PLAYBOOK.
LIKE IT WAS A TOOL.
BACKUPS MADE THEIR DEBUTS.
THEY STEPPED UP AND PLUGGED
THE HOLES.
KICKERS DID WHAT KICKERS DO.
ADDED POINTS WITH THEIR FIELD GOALS.
LINEBACKERS YOU'RE A SPECIAL
BREED.
THEY DEFEND THE PASS AND RUN.
THEY GO OUT THERE PLAY THE GAME
AT THE SAME TIME HAVE SOME FUN.
FOOT RACES UP THE SIDE LINES.
SOMETIMES DOWN AND OUT.
QUARTERBACKS LOVE RECEIVERS
WHO CAN RUN A PERFECT ROUTE.
RUNNING BACKS CAN MAKE A SEASON.
AND PUT ON A FANCY SHOW.
YOUR DEFENCE WILL PRACTICE ALL
YEAR LONG.
TO DEFEND AND SHUT DOWN THE
HOLES.
SUPER BOWL SUNDAY
END OF THE SEASON.
A CHAMPIONSHIP WILL BE WON.
A TROPHY WILL BE HANDED OUT.
MEANING YOUR TEAM IS NUMBER ONE.
BUT IT'S ALL ABOUT THE RING.
WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE.
THE MEMORY FADES
AND YEARS GOES BYE
BUT THE RING IS PROOF
YOU WON.

Mid-Eastern Tales 3
Curtis Johnson
Long, long ago, before the Super Bowl, popcorn, and potato chips;
Yes, long ago, there lived a king in the Middle East.
His name was David, a very God fearing man,
and also a military general of the highest order.
He was loyal to his God, his country, and his soldiers. He also became his nation’s greatest hero of all times.
He was a gifted musician and a psalmist.
He was fearless and strong, but a sexual weakness
changed the course of his entire life and family.
Lastly, one other error in judgment aroused his God’s
displeasure. Because of his mistake, King David was compelled to make a choice of evils. Indeed, none of the choices presented to him were good ones.
Sometimes, we are also placed in situations, either by self, others, or God. In those often complicated and convoluted situations, we are forced to choose. There are no exit signs or ways of escape to take flight. The choice is not one of delight. However, responsibility demands that we choose.
10232016 cj Bible, 1&2 Samuel
I want my 2-year-old to laugh.
I want my stepdaughter to do the dishes.
I want someone else to renew my expired tabs.
I want a new belt,
Maybe new pants.
I want my 3-year-old to do a better job of solving her own problems.
I want to hear my wife laugh.
I want sliced pastrami in the “fridger.”
I want my 2-year-old to call the fridge a “fridger” for the rest of his life.
I want to make more money.
I want more time to write.
I want to take my 5-year-old to Hawaii.
I want the New Orleans Saints to win the Super Bowl.
I want peace on Earth.
I want glasses that don’t smudge.
But what do I need?
I need a little more coffee.
An adventure with a friend in the Fall of 2019 became a celebration in the Winter of 2020. We departed Northern California and headed East beyond the Great Divide, beyond which there lies a city of a Plains State. For him, it was an adventure of a lifetime involving some 3600 miles and being seated among some 70,000 plus fans reported to be the loudest in America. The people there love their game, and there is absolutely nothing tame about the fans.
I am not superstitious and do not believe in magic, but I do believe in timing. I believe in timing because there seems to be times when the coordinates of destiny coinsides with the coordinates of providence. And when they do, it feels like magic. Moreover, I believe in momentum and playing in 'the zone'. These are inexplainable moments when 'I can win' takes over the throne and 'defeat' no longer resides within me.
It's been said that there is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come. My friend's time had come and this adventure with my friend was not a world changer nor a cure for cancer, but to my friend, it was far from trivial.
Edwin officiates soccer games, but his passion is for his favorite football team.
When he was very young my friend became an avid fan of a sports team far across the country from his hometown. Until last fall, he could never go to a live game but followed them on television. He followed them throughout his life, sharing in their thrills of victory and in their agonies of defeat.
His team had its winning ways, but it would often rain on their parades. They would win a lot of games but often fell short at the end of the season. That is, until the end of the season in 2020 when their agonies ended and their greatest thrill in 50 years began. They won the biggest game in football called The Super Bowl. I tell you, it was a magical season for my friend and his team, and I cannot remember when I have been more happier for a friend.

There’s an NFL game on tonight at 9pm.
It’s the playoffs, from Denver to Paris via VPN
The Patriots and the Broncos will galdiate to win
a chance to be in the Super Bowl again.
I used to be a big ‘pats’ fan
back when Tom Brady was ‘the man.’
I’ve read it will be super cold - but these are two cold weather teams.
Go Patriots, Go Seahawks! (the Seahawk game is on too late for me).
“You’re SO excitable” Peter (my bf) teased.
As I set out the popcorn bowls, hours early.
He’s a basketball guy - but no one’s perfect.
Personally speaking, basketball’s hard to watch
with all of those sneakers squeaking.
Speaking of games, Here are some of the best pickup lines
I’ve heard lately - in a cafe across from campus, no less.
(Euro-guys are such schmoozers). Here we go:
You’re in med-school, Ya? Well, I hurt myself falling for you.
Your pants are mirror-like, I can see myself in ‘em.
If I rub you, I bet all of my dreams will come true
You’re like Google, you’re everything I’ve been searching for.
Are we in the same lab? Cause you and I’ve got chemistry.
If you were my homework, I'd do you every night
“I’m pursuing a close relationship,” I say, not making direct eye contact.
“Sorry,” I shrug, “it’s a closed world.”

A song for this:
Walk On By by Jonathan Butler
Walk On By by Lola Young ??
Walk On By by Asleep at the wheel
A SUPER BOWL WIN
I WILL FOREVER REMEMBER
CAPPED OF A SEASON
THAT STARTED SEPTEMBER
FEBRUARY FIVE
TWENTY SEVENTEEN
FOR SOME IT WAS HELL
AND OTHERS A DREAM
7 - NOTHING
THE GAME JUST BEGUN
A LOT MORE GAME
BEFORE THIS GAME IS DONE
14 - ZIP
AIN'T THAT A TRIP
I REFUSE TO BELIEVE
I MADE THE WRONG PICK
21-ZAP
CAN THE PATRIOTS COME BACK
IT MIGHT BE THE FALCONS
ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK
21-3
THE PATRIOTS SCORE
FINALLY THE PATRIOTS
ARE ON THE BOARD
THE SECOND HALF STARTS
FALCONS RECEIVE
TO ME THEY SCORED
TOO EASY IT SEAMED
28-3
WHO COULD BELIEVE
MATT AND THE FALCONS
WOULD BEAT BILL AND BRADY
28-9
A MISSED EXTRA POINT
HE MUST HAVE BEEN DRUNK
OR JUST FINISHED A JOINT
25 POINTS
COULD THIS BE A RECORD
LET ME FINISH THIS PIZZA
AND CALL DR. PEPPER
28-12
LET'S KEEP IT GOING
I HAVE THIS FEELING
MOMENTUM IS GROWING
28-20
HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS
STILL LOTS OF TIME
FOR BRADY AND PATS
28-26
THEY WENT FOR 2 POINTS
PATRIOTS FANS
STARTED ROCKING THE JOINT
LET'S FLIP THIS COIN
START THIS O/T
THIS MIGHT BE A GAME
NO ONE BELIEVES
IT LOOKED LIKE A BLOWOUT
RIGHT FROM THE START
BUT AGAIN TOM BRADY
PICKED THEM APART
AND AGAIN LIKE SO MANY,
MANY TIMES BEFORE
BRADY MARCHED DOWN THE FIELD
FOR THE GAMES FINAL SCORE
