I Am Touching the Sky

Tingles
    down my spine
for me it’s nearly time
my very first performance
in the Parkinson’s choir

Practising the songs
    morning
        noon
            and night
memorising lyrics
ready for tonight
but now my mind is blank
don’t even know my name
     oh golly ~ oh gosh
will they ever want me back again

The music it begins
and the soloist she sings
awaiting for our cue
before we can begin
Our voices sing in harmony
blend beautifully as one
    uplifting ~ euphoric
a joyous sound we make
I am reaching new heights
as my heart starts to race
adrenaline is rising
    I am touching the sky...

Lyrics so poignant
bring tears to my eyes
    voices
        rise to a crescendo
    jubilation
        can't be disguised

Audience is roaring
with rapturous applause
    I am wrecked
        I am crying
            I am smiling
                I'm on fire

    And my soul…
        well really ~ truly
it could not get any higher

This was such an uplifting experience for me and as soon as I arrived home I had to express my utter joy and euphoria felt during and after our performance otherwise I would have burst! It is without doubt one of my favourite poems for it came from deep within my soul and I truly was "Touching the Sky"...

Above and Beyond

Whenever tears roll down
somebody's face,
and whether it brings joy, reward or pain:
it matters to someone
whose life, somehow, has broken him down,
or has lifted him up through grace;
it matters when one rejoices,
and sees in victory
what his bewildered eyes
couldn't ever have imagined it to be...

He chose the path to glory
without harboring suspicions,
or being frightened by unseen woes
and hard-and fast rules;
he made swift choices
and built up his courage from nothing;
and what his fearless mind couldn't perceive,
wasn't so impossible to dream,
but surely achieved
through grit and indisputable duty...

Whatever that solemn oath
relied on a certain promise, he never lost heart,
because his valor never seemed to lessen a bit;
and he was taken above and beyond his fears
by not foreseeing any disheartening defeat:
confidence had given his untiring feet a steady beat...

It matters to someone to be recognized,
and cherish that moment of gladness:
perhaps the only moment to be remembered
and be locked away in his past;
a brave soldier at his best,
never settling for anything less,
always going above and beyond his expectations,
to honor and safeguard the Country that he loves...

HEART OF WORSHIP

I stand in worship to You my Father God..
Every Friday how you shake, stir,
engulf and fill my heart with so much gladness...

Once I stand there...
Uncaring who hears
and sees me,
for all I want in those two hours is just to
sing for You.

allow me to tell,
How I was before..
I stood like a tree just singing..
but now..
I could wholly understand and appreciate
what true worship and giving praise is...

My arms unintentionally..
I lift them high. I wave. I clap.
even my feet I can't
stop their talk.
They have their own beat.
I can't stop the groove.
I can't stop the stomp.
I can't halt the swing.
Sometimes, I even hop
and somehow jump.
How could I not be?
Must I be shy?
Must I be ashamed?

But NO..
no! no! no!
I am not.
For those very few hours,
I am there and I believe You are there watching me.
You alone are my audience.
You alone, I like to please.
You alone, I offer the hymns I utter.

there are times, tears fall from my eyes
as I feel Your presence next to me,
as I experience Your words speaking to me
I experience them serenading, winning me.
They are embracing me.
Your living words gradually restoring me.
They are healing every ache.
They are melting every fear.
They are dissolving every worry.
They are day by day transforming, changing me..
They are day by day reminding me of what to do..
They are in my walk, talk, actions, anything that I do.
They become a rainbow fountain of hope,
encouragement,
strength,
peace
and joy.
I am deeply overwhelmed by
how great!
How great !
How great You are to me!

How I love to sing........
I know I got no golden voice..
Nor am I not so sure that
I am hitting rightly the notes,
But I believe..
I trust my Father God that
You will see my desire..
You will see my longing..
You will see each and every thought running in my mind...
More, You will see my heart,
my heart of worship.

Premium Member Sleep My Lovely Lady, Pd

Sleep my lovely baby/PD/lady
Although I am so far away
Listen to the sweet song I sing
Feel in your heart I’m not leaving

Soft wind cuddles you in my arms of love
My warm embrace never makes you sad
Before you close your diamond eyes
Make a wish I am with you tonight

All dreams that you dream here or afar
Will be answered by those bright stars
As the moon smiles sweetly in your sight
Giving an assurance that you’ll be alright

Sleep my lovely baby/ PD/lady
Sweet lullaby I sing as I fervently pray
May God keep you safe while I’m away
In this world you’re so special in His way

Oct. 25,2012

This can be sung in a tune of a lullaby song which my teacher had taught me when I was still in Grade 4, I remember more vividly but not exactly the tune and the title and lyrics not anymore.

The table set
       just us three
     My wife, my son
       and me

     A masterful meal
       spirits raised high
     How about a song now
       Let's give it a try

     One tune leads to another
       melodies like brothers
     Forty minutes of pure gaiety
laughter, joy, a taste of harmony

     The after-meal grace recited
       with full-throated thanks
Next meal - six hours, guests coming
~ time to refill our tanks

Taking Pictures In the Rain

Would I look insane
If I took pictures in the rain?
My face would be…sponging wet
My camera would be slippery I bet

Would I be in danger
If I took photos of a passerby and a stranger?
My reputation would probably be out of shape
My own skin would turn a odd shade…just like the clouds—covered by a foggy cape

It would be a whole new adventure
If I drive that damp road of cement…what would occur?
My uncertainty leads to a mysterious freeway…we are all along for the ride
We’ll still be together like some married couple—well, I’ll always stay by their side

Would we be in danger
If I took photos of this horrifying recollection?
Will it drive my dad to anger?
My safety is hanging on its last seat belt; I’ll never forget this risky exploration

Would I be the one to blame
If I took pictures of the rain’s appalling flame?
My face is showered with bogging rain and blurred fog
My curiosity increases the rainstorm and I flash the driver to create a direction’s clog

Pop Rock Influence On Me Lately

I used to love Elvis's songs and watched all of his fine concerts;
then the long-haired Beatles came from England
and he was almost swept away in his own land!
Suddenly, new artists names appeared on the Billboard Charts,
I couldn't stick to a specific artist:
I guess they all sang to the heart!

Because of my age, people think I am a square,
I listen to Maroons 5, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry;
I can name more vocalists whom I enjoy on my Galaxy phone,
but what really matters is Pop Rock influence on me lately.

Does it mean that Pavarotti is out of the picture?
No, a great performance is still a delight to hear...
even Bocelli sings pop with a conservative style:
I embrace them all, did I forget fashionable Cher?

Premium Member The Raw Madness

The raw madness waits in my secret garden,
where pretty flowers bloom all year long.
Where the bees and butterflies,
suck the nectar to fill their tiny tummies.
Words fill my mind and heart,
telling me what to write.
Where the red birds stop by to sing,
singing in perfect harmony.
I hear rhymes and then free verse,
as I begin to write.
As I sit here on this old wooden bench,
I have found peace.
My pen and paper join together,
they united and write as one.
Peace covers me about the past,
I have peace about the long lost years.
Thanking peace for this beautiful day,
my hand holds my pen tight.
I leave the raw madness far behind,
as I sing and write in perfect harmony.

Because God Loves Me

He's been the source of my relief
backbone of my spiritual belief
He gives me such a sense of peace
He's been my ladder when I couldn't reach
I'll use His guidance and I'll teach
I'll kneel to Him and I'll beseech
I'm everything you see because God loves me
He's been my strength when I felt weak
I hear His voice It sounds so sweet
I lift my hands to give Him praise
for giving me another day
He comforts me no matter when
I thank Him time and time again
I'm everything you see because God loves me
           {refrain}
God to You I give praise
love You in every way
need You all of my days
just You show me the way

whenever darkness manifests
I turn to Him for He is blessed
He's never ever let me down
lifted me up to higher ground
I come to Him in supplication
for spiritual rejuvenation
I'm everything I am
because I love Him
and when I read the Holy Scriptures
I finally get the full gospel picture
that on His word I do believe
there's nothing I cannot achieve
He is my one and only King
for Him I'll do most anything
I'm everything I am because I love Him
{refrain}
as I go higher and higher on
to reach the Kingdom of Zion
I know that He will meet me there
no need to have any fear
I will eternally reside
in Heaven by His graceful side
I'm all that I can be, because God loves me
my prayers have finally been rejoined
and up to Heaven I rise on
now I can truly see the Light
God's Kingdom is within my sight
with Him I will forever rest
sinless and now forever blessed
I'm all that I can be because God loves me
{refrain}
and now I look upon His face
I bow to Him in all His grace
there's no place I would rather be
right here with God beside of me
there's no more searching around
with Him I truly have been found
I'm where I want to be because God loves me
I'm where I want to be because God loves me
I'm where I need to be because God loves me

Let Him Walk In Your Path

When you think darkness is too eery
and you have the bold faith of Moses,
let Him walk in your path without roses...
and His light will shine so brightly!

You have never seen him, and yet
believe Him to be your Redeemer;
you've heard His message and thought:
He must be the only King and Savior!

Let him walk in your path full of clove,
to guide you through the very end;
more flowers will grow around the bend,
where you planted the seeds of love!

When sunsets fade as smiles do, let your head rest
in His loving arms...He will take care of the tempest;
then you can sleep in serenity while stars gleam...
trust in Him rather than trusting in a vain dream!

Isn't a distant glow the beginning of a shining light?
So is hope that slowly grows and shows its might!
Choose salvation over damnation, glory over power;
let Him walk in your path and He will end every dire!
