I Am Touching the Sky

Tingles
    down my spine
for me it’s nearly time
my very first performance
in the Parkinson’s choir

Practising the songs
    morning
        noon
            and night
memorising lyrics
ready for tonight
but now my mind is blank
don’t even know my name
     oh golly ~ oh gosh
will they ever want me back again

The music it begins
and the soloist she sings
awaiting for our cue
before we can begin
Our voices sing in harmony
blend beautifully as one
    uplifting ~ euphoric
a joyous sound we make
I am reaching new heights
as my heart starts to race
adrenaline is rising
    I am touching the sky...

Lyrics so poignant
bring tears to my eyes
    voices
        rise to a crescendo
    jubilation
        can't be disguised

Audience is roaring
with rapturous applause
    I am wrecked
        I am crying
            I am smiling
                I'm on fire

    And my soul…
        well really ~ truly
it could not get any higher

This was such an uplifting experience for me and as soon as I arrived home I had to express my utter joy and euphoria felt during and after our performance otherwise I would have burst! It is without doubt one of my favourite poems for it came from deep within my soul and I truly was "Touching the Sky"...

Premium Member Come Winter Come Spring

How is it that, come winter come spring,
in the wind and the sorrow, in the light and the dark,
when time passes and all sighs expire,
as the sun rises over all living things,
and the rivers flow into the bed of night,
while the stars splash light around the sky,
and the moon sighs over the sounding dusk,
still in every confluence of music and light,
in each footfall on the recumbent twilight,
the song of you, the song of you
unending, uninterrupted, unquenchable,
fills my heart with such precious memory
of everything and anything at all
that was ever you, that ever moved
through my life and filled my eyes:
always and forever, dear girl,
the miracle and mystery of you,
the song of love
the song of you.

Learn How To Fight Your Blues

Write yourself the silliest song...
when everything seems dark and dull,
and all that can be changed for all;
write and just sing along!

Learn how to fight your blues
with the quickest remedy: think of sunshine,
never of rain; dream of rainbows
over the distant horizon!
For every sad mood that lingerd for too long,
there's a world of surprises waiting in your song!

Most people think that loving themselves
is enough to complete their mission in life,
but I tell you otherwise: love others
more than you love yourself,
and you'll be rewarded in due time:
look at the lives of those great givers!

Learn how to fight your blues,
and there's no way you can lose;
if everything were easy, nobody would complain...
going up-hill is too tough for the weak,
gather your strength and be the first to reap
whatever you deserved and wasn't given!

Write yourself the happiest song,
look up and merrily sing along!

Rise up and communicate
rise up to love not hate
you have the power deep inside
to shine your light far and wide
Come together one and all
share the love, hear the call
the world around needs to heal
rise on up, help others deal

Rise up and recalibrate
rise on up, its not too late
you have the power deep inside
to share your love far and wide
Be the light you wish to see
clear the path for destiny
motivate don't hesitate
tell the past to close the gate

Rock bottom was hard, a real raw deal
but rise on up and take the wheel
strength in numbers helps you heal
so rise on up till love you feel
Yeh rise up and embrace the new
yeh rise up, the world needs you
plant those dreams in a row
be inspired and watch them grow

Rise Rise Rise and mesmerize
Rise Rise Rise lets energize
Rise rise rise
the world needs some healing light
yeh rise on up you'll be alright
Rise Rise Rise.

Use Me Indefinitely,Lord

This heavy heart of wanderer rode
on the unremitting winds of sin...
riding on waves that only lulled
my many unsurmountable fears
and with no wings to hold me up,
I couldn't notice I was drifting past hope;
the distant sun brilliantly shone,
unable to reach those dark places within...

Use me indefinitely,Lord...
and make that bond stronger,
which was lost when I was younger;
use me indefinitely,Lord...
to amend the unkept promises
and the false will to live...
but looking to others for advice,
it all added up to wordly lies!

Why haven't I yet been blessed...
to share my blessings with others,
and be shielded from my enemies
with that invincible sword called,"Faith.";
why haven't I given up all the earthly joys...
to look up and cleanse me of all ugliness?

Use me indefinitely,Lord...
to never go back to those alluring ways:
to appease human behavior and bypass
a peaceful and long life ;
use me indefinetely,Lord...
at least,there is one left
to be redemeed by remorse and guilt,
and proclaim you shamelessly!

Premium Member Sail

Joe Bonamassa sang many uplifting
Blues song like “Drive” that he performed
At Carnegie Hall on an acoustic evening in 2017
Striking deeper level of understanding in many.

My inspiration came from this song
For the lyric “Sail ” that flows as follows.
. . . . . . . . . . . .

Darling, you’re feeling so gloomy
I’m sinking in depression
Come, let’s go to the sea
For some joyful action

And let’s sail
Across the wave line, in the moonshine
Let’s float

Let’s hear the music of the blue sea
From our agony we’ll be free
And sail

My heart has been pulsating
With yearning
So fast I have been running
I’m at rest now for you’re with me

Let’s sail
Across the wave line, in the moonshine
Let’s float

Let’s hear the music of the blue sea
From our agony we’ll be free
Let’s sail
Let’s sail

Far away from the shore
The land I don’t see near
Even though the boat is rocking
I feel no fear

Let’s sail
Across the wave line, in the moonshine
Let’s float

Let’s hear the music of the blue sea
From our agony we’ll be free
Let’s sail
Let’s sail

Premium Member Sleep My Lovely Lady, Pd

Sleep my lovely baby/PD/lady
Although I am so far away
Listen to the sweet song I sing
Feel in your heart I’m not leaving

Soft wind cuddles you in my arms of love
My warm embrace never makes you sad
Before you close your diamond eyes
Make a wish I am with you tonight

All dreams that you dream here or afar
Will be answered by those bright stars
As the moon smiles sweetly in your sight
Giving an assurance that you’ll be alright

Sleep my lovely baby/ PD/lady
Sweet lullaby I sing as I fervently pray
May God keep you safe while I’m away
In this world you’re so special in His way

Oct. 25,2012

This can be sung in a tune of a lullaby song which my teacher had taught me when I was still in Grade 4, I remember more vividly but not exactly the tune and the title and lyrics not anymore.

Words In a Jukebox

I speak words, rawly, but
productively, Poetry Is the
Passion, I compose, with A
gleaming heart, that spins the
souls of others, vibrantly
shinning, among the rainbows,
Colorfully booming, Tenderly In
A jukebox, as my ego, grows
up the beanstalk, like sun-use,
Wisely owl, among expression to,
its knowledgeable ponder, for those
who listen, Do you hear, what I hear?
Do you see, what I see? Do you know,
what I know? Please take A step-
back, and listen chary to it
again, As I compose my lyrics,
down on A sheet of white
paper, for all the world to,
see, Hear, and know, because
We are worthy, in the eyes of
God...

Premium Member The Raw Madness

The raw madness waits in my secret garden,
where pretty flowers bloom all year long.
Where the bees and butterflies,
suck the nectar to fill their tiny tummies.
Words fill my mind and heart,
telling me what to write.
Where the red birds stop by to sing,
singing in perfect harmony.
I hear rhymes and then free verse,
as I begin to write.
As I sit here on this old wooden bench,
I have found peace.
My pen and paper join together,
they united and write as one.
Peace covers me about the past,
I have peace about the long lost years.
Thanking peace for this beautiful day,
my hand holds my pen tight.
I leave the raw madness far behind,
as I sing and write in perfect harmony.

Pop Rock Influence On Me Lately

I used to love Elvis's songs and watched all of his fine concerts;
then the long-haired Beatles came from England
and he was almost swept away in his own land!
Suddenly, new artists names appeared on the Billboard Charts,
I couldn't stick to a specific artist:
I guess they all sang to the heart!

Because of my age, people think I am a square,
I listen to Maroons 5, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry;
I can name more vocalists whom I enjoy on my Galaxy phone,
but what really matters is Pop Rock influence on me lately.

Does it mean that Pavarotti is out of the picture?
No, a great performance is still a delight to hear...
even Bocelli sings pop with a conservative style:
I embrace them all, did I forget fashionable Cher?
