Complicity is easy for the Right,
one single flag to which they all adhere –
“someone might steal my loot”. This primal fear
prompts pistols under pillows, sleepless nights
and riot cops. Who needs a Stagyrite?
But Lefties hold their differences dear.
Each Keeper of the Flame is more sincere
than Cash-Is-Trash-ists, Ogden Nash-ists, quite
apart from Crypto-Fascists, Widow’s Mite
Apologists, Red Guards, or those who steer
by Stalin’s light (Stakhanovites). It’s clear:
you’d never have a play without a wright,
and so each faction finds its Miller Lite:
Kropotkin, Castro, Kopp – who’s cool this year?
I wanted you
You needed me
Together we stayed
It was how it came to be
Some good times
A lot of fights
Worried days
Sleepless nights
To many wrong decisions
Never feeling right
So lonely
As a pair
We stay together
But are never near
Whatever we had
Whatever we do
When was it love
For me or for you
Lying next to each other
Both feeling cold
We never talk
It always showed
I should leave you
And let you go
But you cry
Needing me still shows
It's not a life
I don't know
When was it love
I don't know
Always questions
Answers are unfair
Lying next to me
I want you near...
A little time as in the situation
corporation as the business takes lead
accordingly in disagreements
the nights of the achievements of many work
another destiny fulfilled completely
honors and awards as it appears
goals as planned time lasts
meetings prepared periodically
over a destiny season in coming years
life stress, long hours worked
degrees accomplished success
along the ways in the journey days
as her business growth life's approached
many days of sleepless nights
prepared for the enemies and a fight
standing her grounds independently owned
Blessed and keeping her faith
as all rules enforced stayed in place.
Life
Deep into that darkness learning
Life is for everyone
The incentive seemed happy spurning
Everyone is for life
I crave the unswayed, unimpressed upbringing
My aliveness, I could not awaken
Life is for everyone
Everyone is for life
And the agelessness never debating
Life
I remember I was acquiescing, remembering
I crave the instructional, inviting impermanence, temporary
Ah, distinctly I was condoning, remembering
But in the fact that it was dripping, temporary
It was slipping, ripping, gripping!
Reneging and reneging with my virtuousness
Nowness - nowness - nowness!
That moment my soul grew lonely
Life is for everyone
The abandoned auteurism acquiring
Back into my memories moralizing
All my soul within me inspiring
Life is for everyone
The sleepless school sermonizing
Everyone is for life
Life is for everyone, life

sleepless night
passes many
there's reasons
In deep love
night takes away sleep
romance on
if loved one
suffers from deep pain
tear oozes
for phone call
waiting fades the night
lengths the time
Enemy's
conspiring mind's plan
keeps awake

Does time matter to a sleepless city?
Waiting for the train to come…it'll be here eventually
Most likely it won't even have my stop.
Hop on hop on while others hop off.
This particular track wasnt meant for them.
Next stop Lexington and 125th street
UPTOWN. The voice crackles over the speaker.
5 more stops
5 more stops.
Close but not exact, the train is never exact.
The weak scavenge for a place to sit
while the sturdy stand upright.
Stand clear of the closing doors.
Humans packed tight together,
cause for complete strangers to share conversation
Stand clear of the closing doors.
Open Close
The breaks screech again.
Open Close
On and Off
Still I stand strong keeping seats open for the ones who deserve it.
Does hard work really pay off?
A city worker with a broken back is still broke.
While a Wall Street broker affords to lose enough money
to feed his family for an entire year.
On and off they go
On and off they went
busy bees and worker ants crawling on a ball of dirt.
Silently my mind drifts,
what happen?
only god knows,
I thought I heard a knocking,
then a whisper,
but was too sleepy to answer.
I wander through the busy towns,
viewing man’s midnight secret.
magnificent, gliding with the night,
when your eyes are closed.
Suddenly a knock on the door,
pulling me breathlessly from my cotton quilt,
my neighbor I supposed lost her keys,
hammering loudly, the echoing sounds woke everyone.
The confusion of the night hunts my soul,
I traveled back and forth over this land,
finding dark troubles struggling in my hands.
Exhausted by its power I tried to sleep,
but the night crept slowly away from me.
I slipped into a shallow slumber.
Again my eyes open slowly with the door,
a ghost must have entered,
I am sure,
No, it was my roommate returning from her nightly chores.
She slammed the door inflicting more pain to my sleepless soul.
Sleep is such a gentle thing,
but it is so hard for me.
I could hear every laughter and chatter of the construction men
working in the gutter.
I twist and turn in the bed,
but could not find a comfortable place for my head
as I pulled the cover over my face,
the alarm clock rings.

The hill around me is very large
The universe is getting ready for a ball
The dignitaries are standing in line and the
West wing is moving along to honor the well
Deserved one with a prestigious ceremony on the front lawn
Here I am feeling elated by the built-in surprise and the multitude that descended on the hill, they are standing at attention
The guests are pouring in and desires are
Running high and making its way up to the flabbergasted sky
The shadows are moving quietly along
And my heart is getting ready to sing a new song
We have waited a hundred decades for this moment to come
for when the universe and all that’s in it will
honor the deity from the bottomless pit and those that
Are not around to witness it knows that your struggles were not in vain and because of you the world is not the same
We remember your struggles and your sleepless nights
we remember the fights and the daily sacrifice
the hunger you bore on the field
and how you persevere without zeal
Whether you are above or have sunken below
You are a part of us wherever you go
Open the window of your heart
and get ready for the miracle to start
We share the passion of love
and courage shelter's us from above
Life burst into the cloud
And stares at the benevolent hill
(Wednesday July 10, 2024)
Dogs growl with their eyes.
Kittens, bleat like sleeping lions.
Simplicity says nothing,
the wise listen.
Everything is a conversation,
nothing matters.
The land is for sale,
The dead plant their
alien hearts deep,
spaceships orbit as empty
as long locked museums.
The future conspires
to be a conspiracy,
everyone knows,
yet the hurricanes
keep coming.
Now its winter
that is a problem.
Now it's summer,
millions die complaining.
Rats in labs bathe under
radioactive lamps.
They thrive.
It's science,
its global idiocy,
there is no mercy
for the dissenting.
it's any day, that ends in
a sleepless night
of near extinction.
Come
Come
Come
my hands are cold,
my feet are numb,
I’ve been waiting for you to come.
Listen to the rhythmic sound of the drum,
it is summoning you to come,
come and minster to my blazing soul,
and help me achieve my dancing goal.
Leap beyond the shadows of death,
and purge me with your mystical breath,
tear off my sleepless gown,
and cool me down with your powerful sound.
Follow the sound of the drums and come,
If you don’t come I will be undone,
thousands of them surround the gate,
come before it's too late.
Moan
groan
wiggle and scream,
entrance me in your solitary dreams.
pull out your dangling whistle
stretch my body,
breath upon my throbbing flesh,
and captivate me in your powerful net.
Release your knob and come,
shoot me with your inflated gun,
I have waited for this eternal bliss,
but something stands amiss.
