I was hoping that you could come so that we could pack our bags and run, the plane is on the tarmac and the crew is waiting to close the boarding gate, you have got to get on the tracks before it’s too late. It is the final plane to leave so that the journey can complete, nothing more will be landing here and the island will turn into a mountain of despair. The seas are closing in and the birds have migrated to East and the west, leaving the North and the south to shout and the naked wind to twirl about. That people that are still here they are mountain pioneers, their ancestors survived trough the heat and the cold with firewood bundled together to keep them warm and portion made from bush to heal their raw wounds. The winter is coming and the ground doves are singing, we must leave this place before destiny ties us to the tree and leaves us to face the decree, grab the bags and run with me to the tarmac to board the plane before the heavens announce the final decree.
When a Woman insists that she does all the work
and the man does nothing
what is this condition called.
My Great Grand dad said it
was called "silly Bytch Syndrome"
but I have come to find
it is calle Female Imposter Syndrome.
Is it that she wishes
the maintaince of the home
to be done on system that
doesn't include seasonal fixes.
Or just getting by comes from
his ablity to service and moniter
certain things that need to be done
during times of the year
where it is more favorablly done.
Like cleaning the chimmey in warm weather
so, we don't have to huddle around
a space heater
while the repairs are being done.
or putting the new pipe on the
stove in Summer so that all you
have to do is prepare the areas for
work durning the actual winter season.
having enough wood to
last until seasons end.
But even still when your husband
asks for the extra three hundred dollars
to fix the hot water heater before
the winter comes
but you rather
eatout with the
Sister Gippy
and uiy a new dress to
eat in.
and stay all weekend at
Gipsey's sister's house
who doesn't like me( or you).
And she's the one who tells her
to leave you,
well then we need additional help!
the next big one
might include.
I thought I told you
to fart outside!
Grasshopper moves
Abrupt and jumpy;
Loud sounds irritate
Giant black moths
Fluttering blind;
Crashes on white walls
Alien concerns
Disturb the scene;
Seasonal distress
Guava tree bounty
More fruits to juice;
Potent cocktail
Soursop juice
Drink that fortifies;
Sweet-sour respite
Watermelon red
Pineapple yellow;
Fruit juice concort
Beer guzzling group
After hours resort;
Feeling good gathers
August transitions
Ending with festival;
Harvest of joy
Take time to laugh
Before the end;
Poignant portraits
Make rhymes announce
Path of feelings;
Beyond a price tag
Haiku and senryu
Even free verse;
Labels that fit

Fall feels like the melancholy
Of a crisp, cool dark night
Fall is the whisper of leaves
Dancing to the beat of the wind
Falling soft across my thoughts
Fall is the gray silhouettes
Of naked trees, decaying leaves
In the mist of clear, blue ridges
Fall is the foggy mornings
Dawning in the shade of a bright
Marvelous sunshine
Fall is mystery and music
Faded nights around a fire
Fall is precious promises
Hues of tangerine and scarlet
Laughter on the heart
Fall is light and shadows
Glorious prayers blessed
By a Father who gives this serenity
Fall is grace that brings
Captivating images
Pumpkin patches and scarecrows
Glittery moons with stars glowing
Fall is praise alive with harvest
Gazing across timid pastures
And hills breathing in the freshness
Fall is the death of Summer
And the crumbling of marigolds
Fall is a light in the darkness
The breath of campfire dreams
Sliding through the mind
Moist and shimmering in the rain
Fall is the flavor of joy
Inspiring and sweet
Caressing my soul in feelings
Freedom, silence, harmony
Fall is a season
But it is so much more
It is the beginning
Of a song, a psalm, a idea
That Winter will say
The End, Amen to
F all is almost here.
A corns and pumpkins to roast.
R ed and gold leaves will soon cover the yard.
E ating the last watermelon, oh my.
W ater sports will be tucked away.

L oved learning to swim at camp.
L ong days now turning short.
T ogether next year at the lake.
O n our way home for the winter.
S ay goodbye to the hot days.

I live in a city of a Indian state
where you can discern refreshing greeneries, that accommodate
the kingfishers,Rollers,peacocks,snakes and white cranes
Although rice is the major crop,black lentils,sugar canes
corns,sunflowers and groundnuts are the seasonal crops
Since it is a rainfed area,the agriculture rely on rain drops
Pongal,the three days festival is celebrated in mid-January
for the year harvest,as a thank giving ceremony
The Brihadeeswara temple,inscribed on list of world heritage
along with airavateswara temple,surviving 1000 ages
have convoluted stone carvings and intricate sculptures
reveal our ancient cultures and they are our treasures
I am talking about the beautiful city
Even though it is a city,people's behavior
pretend you to feel like an unrivaled village
The people are more generous and obliging
No religious gap among us,Christians go to mosques
Hindus to churches,Muslims to temples,we are unique
People came from different regions and communities
Nayaks,sauarashtras,marathas savvy the value of unity
and we are living examples of unity in diversity
we follow all the traditions without ambiguity
Tamil is our official language,the name
of city reveals the unvarnished fame
Dusk dawns noticeably earlier each night in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania - yup
Which trend will continue some days before
winter solstice 2021 in Northern Hemisphere,
Tuesday, December 21 10:58 AM.
Yes, interestingly enough earliest sunset date(s)
along eastern United States
will occur December 7 and 8, 2021 at 4:28 pm EST.
Similar respective phenomena
takes place across globe.
Winter solstice constitutes
shortest day of the year in terms of daylight,
but does not have latest sunrise
nor earliest sunset of the year.
This prevails because discrepancy exists
between modern-day timekeeping methods
and how time is measured
using the Sun known as the equation of time.
The equation of time comprises
east or west component of the analemma,
a curve representing angular offset of the Sun
from its mean position on celestial sphere
as viewed from Earth.
I thoroughly enjoy onset of early darkness
unperturbed courtesy
seasonal affective disorder (SAD).
Alas and alack
matter of fact yours truly
optimally thrives when pitch black
skies immerse bookworm as impetus to crack
open a novel and/or read
one of my favorite (MAD) magazines
versus basking in sunshine which doth distract,
thus I while away hours appeasing
sixty plus shades of gray (cerebral) matter
processing criteria at greased lightning speed
considerably faster than once
venerably touted supreme ENIAC,
whereby mine figurative pistons
incalculably subvert additional
superfluous irrelevant flack
spurring me to burrow
deep inside invisible gunnysack
cause ordinary stress I could not hack
conveniently latched onto
ninety sixties counterculture mantra
"turn on, tune in, drop out"
popularized by Timothy Leary in 1966
essentially only in body not spirit
throughout academic foray,
I occupied space and time
paid dear price, cuz
submissive behavior heavily did impact
writer of these words a jejune Jack,
who during formative years
never dated, nor got jilted
cuz he possessed
unquestioned unhealthy uncanny
fealty and deadly eating disorder
body dysmorphia knack
positive image of self I lack,
an existence punctuated
by one after another panic attack.
AUGUST DAYS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Air is heavy with the scent of ripened fruit.
August days, like golden coins, disappear as quickly as a pirate’s loot.
The trees, nature's own cathedral, stand tall and still,
their leaves, a rustling hymn, to the whispers of the wind's will.
August's heat, a fiery passion, ignites the soul,
preparing us for fall, the season of abundance we often extol.
August's nights, a velvet cloak, wrap the world in shade,
a time for dreams and magic, when the stars are magnificently displayed.
The fireflies, like tiny lanterns, light the way,
as crickets serenade, clicking their legs together—their mating cliché.
August, a month of earthy wonder and enchantment,
one that is transformative and transient, filled with seasonal contentment
Xmas Pals
As seasonal passage conjures two friends,
Winter paint faces full of joy and cheers,
St. Nick and Frosty, all children then befriends,
Both are treasures to precious little dears.
Winter paint faces full of joy and cheers,
Gaze the sky for Santa's sleigh o'er the glens,
Both are treasures to precious little dears,
Made Frosty the snowman with odds and ends.
Gaze the sky for Santa's sleigh o'er the glens,
Jolly St. Nick's reindeers were used as gears,
Made Frosty the snowman with odds and ends,
Frosty was packed with snow as Christmas nears.
Jolly St. Nick's reindeers were used as gears,
St. Nick and Frosty, all children then befriends,
Frosty was packed with snow as Christmas nears,
As seasonal passage conjures two friends.
