September 20 Praises to God Bible Meditations Based on Hosea 11-14
Key Verse – Hosea 11:9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
PRAISE BE TO GOD FOR BEING IN OUR MIDST
Praise be to God for being in our midst:
Teaching us His testimonies we should trust
Testing us midst terrible turbulent times
Taking us toward triumphant tasks
Training us through tough trials
Telling us His tenacious truths
Hosea 12:6 Praise be to the Lord
for enabling us to turn unto Him:
Rejoicing along His redemption’s regard
Repenting from rebelliousness’ reign
Resting from reproaches’ retorts
Refreshed in His restoration
Rejuvenated by His revival
Hosea 13:4 Praise be to the Saviour for
asserting that He is our Lord Who:
Calls us by His compassion for consecration
Cleanses us with His chastity toward courage
Cares for us along His comfort and cheerfulness
Commands us with His cause for our commitment
Counsels us to charge and convict us against complacency
Hosea 14:9 Praise be to the Almighty
for leading us to His right ways from:
Destruction’s direction by His declaration
Denial’s despondency along His definite defense
Despair’s distress thru His daring dedicated devotion
Defiant disobedience toward delightful discipleship drive
Discouragement’s damage through His determined deliverance
Devil’s darkness and deceitful detours upon His decisive domination. Amen!

Every time miserable fear grips my heart
torturing each chamber with woeful grief
afflicting harshly, leaving panic-dart
to sorrow, overwhelmed by unbelief…
In moments of crises tormenting my mind
distress-filled, losing assured hope
beleaguered, confused where truth to find
anxiously groping for wisdom’s scope…
Whenever my soul wallows in doubt
questioning God’s omnipotent light
murmuring against His gracious clout
after having proven provident might…
Here am I guilty of faithlessness and unbelief
making my God powerless...
I now repent, cleaving to Christ’s compassion
since He’s my Saviour*, worthy of trust-verity.
*2Samuel 22:3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour...

My Lord Jesus to you I pray
through you to God on high
your father and mine our God
this is always my daily cry
O Lord I thank you in my heart
for your love to die for me
taking my sins on your body
paying for them on Calvary's tree
Thanks for always being near me
wherever I am you are there
this thought makes my heart smile
to know you really do care
You are my Lord and indeed my God
about me, you know just everything
this makes a melody within my soul
bringing out praises to you I sing
Thanks be to you my Lord Jesus
that I can really call you mine
you're the best in all the world
love indeed is God's son shine
(A children's love is to speak to their saviour and friend)
It’s you I call to in my dreams,
To pull me out from the fear I’ve seen.
The ones that hold me in captured fright,
When slow motion kicks in,
And my screams are no more than wheezing murmurs,
When my thoughts are running faster,
But my motions slow to a crawl,
Drawing out the torture of the moment,
But this time you don’t hear my strangled call for help,
Maybe my will isn’t strong enough to transcend,
From this dream state at this time,
God help me if I have to see out this nightmare,
I focus and force my broken earthy plight across the dream dimension,
Desperate to reach the woken world,
But still you don’t save me,
The nightmare encroaches,
The panic builds within me,
I choke,
There's no sound from me,
Which means you won’t know to wake me,
The impending realisation hits me like final last words,
My frightened whisper rasps and splutters,
I hear an old line in my head -
If you die in a dream then you die in real life...
My panic turns to savage rage and I scream,
I scream in defiance for I won’t be broken here,
I scream in the face of all my fears,
I scream so strong and loud,
That I tear a rip in the fabric separating my dream and reality,
It doesn’t slow my impending fate,
It ebbs closer still and I feel the acrid warmth wash over my face,
Just as I release my last defiant scream,
You reach for me,
Like an anchor reaching through the depths,
Pulling me back,
Shaking me awake from behind,
Everything fades in an instant as you pull me out of my slumbered suicide,
You heard me through the hole I made,
I open my eyes to the safety of familiarity,
Back in my bed,
My safe bed in my own room,
Next to you,
My night saviour,
But then,
As familiar reality surrounds me,
I look back and still see my dream,
For a second,
Just a moment,
My fear has followed me into my reality,
Through the tear I made to save myself,
Both worlds momentarily co existing,
Real fear grips me as I realise in that moment ,
The protection from the woken world has faltered.
Everything stops,
My heart stops,
Time stops,
I stare into the abyss for what feels like an eternity,
Then you speak and your words are like silver light,
And just like that,
Fear is gone,
Are you ok you ask,
Everything is normal again,
I’m fine I say,
Go back to sleep,
It was just a night terror.
I worship God, thanking Him for His great graciousness*…
He is the Father Who gives with loving kindness.
I worship God, praising Him for His magnanimous generosity…
He is the Provider Who supplies with abundant bounty.
I worship God, obeying Him according to His instruction…
He is the Lord Who deserves my service with devotion.
I worship God, beseeching Him for His tender mercy.
He is the Saviour Who forgives with compassionate clemency.
I worship God, trusting Him for His assured contentment
He is the Spirit Who encloses me with His presence-settlement.
*Psalm 86:15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
