Seeking Light

golden warmth flows
	glittering crystals receive
shimmering waves dance
	rising into the sky

gliding twists and turns
	effortlessly to go
air does ruffle through
	longing to be free

fluff on gentle breeze
	from the sky descends
moves upon the airs
to where ere it may be

flowing onward downward
	flight unbound be
swooping lightly turning
	ere it may flow

flowing freely onward
yet by walls constrained
seeking ever freedom
	where unto be

flow onto the freedom
	endless choices before
free from all constrictions
	still continues on

sharpness does the air fill
	with ionic tang
calling ever onward
	to a place to find

fills the breeze with crying
	to the heart does call
longing ever aching
	for that unknown

tar and oak a creaking
	on the rising swells
currents pulling outward
	straining to be free

thunder calls me onward
	fabric fills the air
chains rattle loudly
	bindings do break free

far away does call me
	to the place I seek
to find a new tomorrow
	and the place I’ll be

Premium Member The First Love

The first time we had met
in the drizzle of the setting sun,
your flushing face I painted
on the blank canvas of mind.
Your parted lips alluring,
your dove eyes enticing,
flashed in dreams designed for me.

In the tempest of time
these dreams blew away
with the squall on sail.
Rising from the debris of wreckage,
I set sail on a new sea,
the uncharted course guided by
the beacon of flickering memory.

I reached the shore entranced,
the drifted dreams returned
with your face on moonbeam.
Time couldn’t ravage my longing,
for eternal is the first love.

Premium Member The Night's Sands

the evening's breeze moved the curtains slowly
this motion to the world was one of compliance
behind them hid the full moon rising
with its scattering light,
like a flock of birds frightened by thunder

on the table, a candle, its smoke moving upward,
after being snuffed out
with wax still soft and warm
an empty glass sits in front of you,
your fingers motionless on its thin stem
all this, cradled in my mind,
as I reach from my chair for your hand
in the still young night
as we had a date with the ocean sand
where we will leave footprints,
filled in by the dark water of the night,
as each wave merges with the tiny granules
leaving only two sets of prints at the high water mark,
facing each other

Premium Member The Comfort of Love

The comfort of love
Knowing, your loved one is there
Through anything that happens
A team you are and will be
Hello and goodbye,
Always returning home
The comfort of love
Acceptance, consistency,
Even when apart, not alone
When stars sparkle,
In the dark skies at night,
Smiles emerge, with no fears in sight
Moonlit kisses with soft embraces
     - Never Forgotten -
The comfort of love
Lets nothing be stolen
Lets nothing be erased
Returned by the touch of a face
In loving, cupped hands
Where it can never be replaced
Home is not empty anymore
But, filled with the comfort of love
      - For Evermore -
A knowing, that will never be gone
Shared equally in the rising,
      - Of every dawn -

Always

ALWAYS. ********

Understand. I MUST go
On these clearing acts of
Instinct and inspiration, these flashings
As they come. For a blizzard has
Been moving in and the snow is
Piling up by the foot...So the doors
Must be kept cleared. The temperatures are
Not rising. The storm pounds in
From the west, but I part the curtains awaiting
The sun to gleam up from the east. These
Enemies — oppression and fear — have come
Disguised as beautifully rising white drifts,
Satisfied that I will drowse by the window
As snow turns the entire landscape into silence.
Understand! Encroaching dark shadows are easier
To overcome, for they reach forward bringing
A dis-ease that I must fight and know
They will tremble upon my call to Jesus.
But, this massive blizzard is a masked, deceitful
Effort of death to try my will to live
And act upon what remains to me:
Instinct and inspiration, as born within me.
In the ‘70’s, in Chicago I survived a massive dropping
Of snow over days of falling. Snow was
Shoveled and packed into chest-high,
Undulating routes to trudge as a necessary
Innovation for sidewalks. Once, I stood at
A stoplight on a mound higher than my height.
That was practice in preface for now. See!
All things have their meanings. All things.
I am confirmed. I will shovel
Out from this blizzard with prayer and poetry
And love...I must. I must.

Thanks be to God!

Rising Again

Rising again, furnished with a bright dream
That led me to a noble path, graced with loving memories

So, i'm moving away from moment of despair
Looking to continue loving my purpose in life

For I refused to give up my treasured dream
Find meaning from every trial, with hope in my pocket

So, I had faith to keep going on, rising again and again-
-And planting seeds of hope with devoted heart

Making me a sailor with triumphant dream
Ready to move on, withstand other storms

While listening to melodies from deep waters
Charming my spirit, and making me embrace new sense of being

So, I keep rising, and rising again, love waiting on my new path
To carry me through a fulfilling journey

For I always believed, happines is forever in the midst of everything
Anytime, everywhere, it will always come to free me

Loves Emotional Rollercoaster

It is hot warm even cold
Sometimes light or very bold
Going in circles, up or down
Quiet or loud noisy sounds
Happy sad or inbetween
A calm or unhappy scene
Tears of joy or even sorrow
It brings bright or dark tomorrow
Rising above or falling down
Emotions scattered all around
Slamming doors or open ones
Boring or a lot of fun
A welcome heart or closed up tight
Laughter or an awful fight
Going out or staying in
Losing or a great big win
Is it fake or very real
Will it break or try to steal
A piece of your heart as you
Do not see the silent clues
That love is about to be
Part of your future history
Never knowing how each day
Will be when it comes your way

Premium Member The Deep Water of My Soul

I carry a message deep inside my chest,

a quiet storm, a sacred word,

but when I hold it out to others,

they look at the dust on my hands instead.

"Oh ok," they say, with a careless shrug,

or a nod that flattens the sky to rock.

They count the bark on a rotting tree,

while I alone feel the forest breathe.

It hurts to speak into a dynamic light

to eyes that are attuned to the shades of black,

to watch the truths that burn inside my very being

be swept away like dust.

No ear to catch the undertow,

no voice to match the frequency—

a language built for depth and ache,

trapped inside the core of me.

I look to the left, I look to the right,

on a winding road through mountain paths,

with no one to walk beside me

or take this weight from my tired hands.

So I let the surface keep its calm,

I’ll stop trying to make them see.

The ocean doesn't ask the shore

to understand the depth of the blue sea.

The road does not demand a crowd

to prove that it is true,

and though the silence presses in so loud,

the path still carries me.

Let the shallow waters stay behind,

unmindful of the rising tide—

some paths are meant for one,

with all of Heaven by my side.
