Tribute to the Rains
And then it finally came
What was very much sought
And what was most needed
As people even prayed for
Eventually, the rains did arrive
Coming as it did in a flurry
Consuming with it all anxiety,
Uncertainty, the heat and dust
In whatever shape it did land
As speedy drizzle or brazen shower;
Noisy downpour continued all nights,
With lightning and thunder
Hurtling down came the stormy rain
With gale and gusty winds, splashing,
Causing muddy pools and rolling floods;
Hurriedly filling up lakes and reservoirs
Wishes grew, for it to be regular
Each year and round the year; enough,
For that alone would mean, growth
And bring in, wealth and happiness
And thus it raised the hopes of farmers
From communities far and wide; who,
Ever so expectant gazed at the sky:
For rains alone made their crops thrive
For Flora and Fauna to bloom manifold
As pastures and fields spring back to life
Plants and trees turning to refreshing green
As marshy lands all get wet and soaked
At long last the Rain Gods had scampered in
Bringing with it promises of plenty and cheer;
Making the air clean and pollutants free
And ushering in climate for a comfort spree
Children rushed to get drenched for fun
While others chose to cuddle in the bed
A delight that's been quite forgotten
For rains brought thrill to all age brethren
It often inspired families to stick together
And munch crispy snacks chattering together;
With a myriad of thoughts and dreams
And alas life for man got all set to zoom!
It didn't really matter how rains showed up
Through a 'cyclone' or a ‘depression’
All it did was to arrive in style and substance;
To the stupendous amazement of all asunder
Whether in torrents or in spate
Raindrops did charge the water bodies
Making insects and worms come alive
For birds to flutter and butterflies to swarm
The wonder of this refreshing shower
Instantly thrilled my heart with heavenly beat,
And thoughts pleasantly ebbed in my mind
To string words together and sing in praise
Great God indeed; did this resource, bless,
For bereft of it; all life shall be a thing of past
And with it the journey of all living things
May well see the light of millenniums ahead!
As the glistening jewels
of snow cascade like
ballerinas pirouetting
to the crescendo of time,
choreographed from porcelain
keys of your h e a r t,
delicate fingers of the
winter moon stretch,
enveloping forlorn footprints
of poignant memories,
framed with petal-like poems
you've placed in the
gallery of my melancholic mind
where soulless shadows still~
haunt me in holographic
hues through somber nights, but
If I were to rewrite the anatomy
of this romance with~
juxtapositions, should I rescript
your promises in p s y c h e d e l i c ink?
knit silken sonnets from the
tapestry of scintillating
stars in our favour,
letting go of all the
seasonal silhouettes
that seized redolent rhymes,
maybe, it is from pain
we relearn to dream
in periwinkle pigments to
nurture and navigate through
decayed gardens embalmed in
opalescent tears and fluorescent fears
suppressed and
personified within gossamer
tales of sunflower s i l e n c e…
Quilted with questions that your
quintessential quill can~
reveal, in romanticised verses, to wade
through the abstracts of weary woes.
So, set your stones to
architect cobalt grey lanes,
to usher feathered thoughts into the
serenity of your scented sanctuary.
until I find the perfect gateway
adorned with crystals in the
verdant valleys, engrossed in vanilla flakes,
where cosmic yearnings are embroidered
between mauve instruments
harmonised from
xylophone whispers reverberating
in vermilion s t i l l n e s s…
You will always be the
clementine crown of my sun,
the scarlet scrapes in my ink,
zested in zealous dahlias
and no rain can drown
this celestial
c o l l a b o r a t i o n…..
The lady: ” I am getting tired of your jabbering---Wouldn’t it be nice to take you
on a cruise…wouldn’t be nice to live in a beach house.--I am tired
of your empty promises.”
The gentleman: “They are my fantasies. You are always starring in them. I don’t
make rash promises.”
The lady: “My mind is made up. I don’t want you near.”
The gentleman: “That has been my fear.”
“But you must know that you’ve always been my only dear”
The lady: “Please… that does not mean anything.”
The gentleman: “What we had is something. You mean everything.”
The lady: “You just need to comprehend“
The gentleman: “No I can no longer pretend. . .”
The lady: “Don’t sound like you now care.”
The gentleman: “Life without you I cannot bear. What we have is rare.”
The lady: “We have got to make things right.”
The gentleman: “I think about that every night. We have to stop this fight.”
The lady: “I need space. I want to straighten my life.”
The gentleman: “I want you to be my wife.”
The lady: Speechless
It's simple to be happy, but it's hard to be simple,
like a star that ignites in the night sky without knowing its own fire,
for happiness comes like a breeze of wind in the middle of summer,
but simplicity is a deep mystery, like a labyrinth of mirrors where you search for yourself.
In the pursuit of simplicity, my soul transforms into a butterfly,
flying through memories and dreams as through an enchanted forest,
where each leaf whispers stories about hidden desires and forgotten hopes,
but to be simple means to embrace essence, to undress from illusions,
to let yourself be carried by the river of time without fearing the unknown shores.
Happiness is a rainbow that arches over the horizon of the soul,
but simplicity is a sunrise, silent and full of promises,
that illuminates the hidden paths of the heart, where truth rests,
and I, a traveler on this road of self-discovery,
learn to listen to the silent song of the universe, to be one with all that is.
When I surrender to simplicity, I find happiness in small details,
in a stranger's smile, in the rustling of leaves, in the fragrance of a flower,
as if each moment were a note from an endless symphony,
and I, just an instrument that vibrates at life's subtle touch,
discover that in this harmony of existence, happiness and simplicity intertwine,
creating a dance of lights and shadows, of dream and reality,
where my soul finally finds its place, simple and happy.
As we began our ways with Alkaiya in my arms
I knew I was walking towards an awakening reality
And with the undesired reality to come undone
I started to wonder if there ever will be another tranquility?
The paths ahead only promises to be deadlier still
Is destiny to predetermine the succession of either’s supremacy?
Both The Word and The Void, The war between the unreal
Am I really the cause to affect the balance of total ultimacy?
Yet… all that matters now, is the life of Alkaiya
Her infirmly life where only I can perhaps ensave or let die?
And with my unsleeping self, the distance to be is as yet afar
Am I always to despair in reality with a heavy sigh?
Consumed by my own wrath, I see to the day’s passing
Envisioning the impossible, knowing not the unprecedented fate
And of love, uncalled for in any sacrificial asking
Is there a dream… a one earnest dream to rightfully await?
With Alkaiya, its of love to whence outlast
A love pure and unkind, unknown and anew
With Ei-rian, its of love to belong the past
A love impure but kind, a memory left be sealed
It is not of my choosing to unfold the hidden night
I cannot know what seem destined as Knight of the Word
Yet gratefully, my hours of dark is not without light
To have The Askance to aid me through paths unheard

VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH
Death blew his misty breath at me
And I trembled in the cold,
Feelings frozen, I stood affixed,
My heart encrusted with salty crystals...
At that point, the blanket of God's promises
Covered me, empowered me
And warmed my soul from within.
Death placed his heavy hand on me
And I crumbled under the load
Crushed and crestfallen, I staggered,
My being burdened with the deadweight...
At that moment, the strength of God's presence
Secured me, reassured me
And sustained my spirit with hope.

President Trump is well versed in the art
of exaggeration
and procrastination.
He constantly breaks campaign promises
despite obligations
and or demonstrations.
Always begging His financial friends for
generous donations
for favorite foundations.
He brazenly touts alternative truths
luring congregations
feeding aspirations.
He’s transformed lying to a form of art
declared declarations
spurring confrontations.
His juvenile vindictive tweets effect
market fluctuations
and global relations.
Because angry Americans voted
his administration
will harm generations.
Congress must act and pursue impeachment
or his resignation
and rescue their nation.

African Fairy Queen
Waterfalls cascading
on a desert island
of mango moon spoon shine
So glistening hot and spicy
lips meet lips and
serpentine devotion
Rhyming poet trees
in motion adoration
native naïve synchronicity
rivers flowing un-pushed
towards the ocean
in vital essence
in sun-showered lust
breathing moaning love
In us the apple is a peach
and we are still naked
twelve ribs twelve promises
breathing together
in and out inout
scenting moist screaming
conjugation
Loving population of once
deforested loneliness
The cob webs have
melted in fusion
in Africa majestic fairy told
meandering to the stars
and back beyond
Life is alive
Queen Moon Spoon
waters rising
lush and honest
Honestly
Oct 2015
Closing my eyes shut in a pleasant doze
Within the warm arms of mother Anne
Safe from the unsteady and trembling world
Within her arms of stability
Loved and smothered by all, cherished as gold
In a garden of perfect order
Filled with joy, without authentic glory
She always whispered into my ear
Assurances of earthly achievement
Promises of mortal and worldly love
Dreams of a near land of milk and honey
For whenever I shall leave her care
While in her arms, I heard a distant call
A call from outside this cosmos, a Gnostic call
I believed in that call, and set to seek it
After I will inevitably leave her arms
The destined day came; she loosened her hands
Telling me that ahead was a bridge
And assured me of milk and honey lands
So, Anne let me go, and off I went
I kept hearing the call outside this cosmic sea
Far away, a sweet fragrance of life for me
Instead of a bridge, it was a summit
I was casted down to climb back up
And quickly saw the promised land of “joy”
The gleeful land of milk and honey
Was instead a land of smog and pitfalls
Lost and confused, with no guide or map
I trudged along, with no way to go back
Near the very end, my soul gave up
But my body kept going and searching
Blindly I fell into an abyss
Down to Sheol, where I took a short rest
I recollected the arms of Anne
And remembered her arms’ stability
I kept hearing the call outside this cosmic sea
Far away, a sweet fragrance of life for me
Taking a solemn rest, breathing a sigh
The path ahead became much darker
I entered the dark valley of the soul
Where an old phantom waited for me
That slept dormant since my entombing birth
Was now awakened and tortured me
With only me sleeping keeping him back
My soul was blown and tossed for six months
By his unseen, all-consuming presence
Every second of every hour
Trying to deafen the call with wailing
I recollected the arms of Anne
And remembered her enveloping warmth
I kept hearing the call outside this cosmic sea
Far away, a sweet fragrance of life for me
