They say if you don’t use a thing for a year
It’s time to get rid of it, just to be clear
Feel free to sell it or give it away
But to get clutter free, just don’t let it stay
So, I checked my garage for stuff I could lose--
and found hundreds of words I simply don’t use!
Lilliputian and Sprightly stood on a shelf
Elbow-to-elbow with some wry little elf
Bucolic and Bumpkin were squirreled away
Beneath a big bale of bright yellow hay
Garish and Gaudy were in a glittery box
with Trinkets and Baubles set with fake rocks
Surreptitious and Unobtrusive tried to avoid being seen
But I caught 'em sneaking off with Clandestine
Beyond these loose words, which filled many a bin
Lay whole turns of phrase like Much to My Chagrin
I held up to the light a Gossamer Veil
Then dumped it in a Perfidious Betrayal
An Ethereal Cloud, glued to the ceiling
I scraped off with an Ambivalent Feeling
I rolled back the rug to see what I'd missed,
There before me stretched a Yawning Abyss
Into a huge crate, these big words I did toss
Bobbing on top were Flotsam, Jetsam and Dross
Fatigued by these labors, I took a short break
But that little respite may have been my mistake
Soon I was deep in most Pensive Reflection
On how Assiduously I had built this collection
In crept Myriad Doubts about so brash a move
What if I meet some Cad I need to Reprove?
What if some Craven Cur should Incur my Wrath
But words fail me due to this Ill-Chosen Path?
Well, soon that old crate was quite empty once more
And cluttered again were bin, shelf, drawer and floor
But one thing has changed, this is Palpably Clear
My Leviathan Word Horde I now Deeply Revere
Intrepid and Dauntless, I sling without fear
Iota and Mote.. I dust off once a year!

Great were the old times
When we first met eye in eye
Green was the grass everywhere
Sorrows we had not in our minds
For memorial stories we shared
Our hearts beat with entire joy
Now as dreams have evaporated
Life has become acrimonious
Worries have grown in our hearts
Great has been the created distance
Between us yet we are close
Sleepless nights we spend
Nobody knows but siblings think
Our bond is mounting naturally
Yet love is virtual as lies hamper
Now broken are these weak hearts
That no more beat for each other
And so both our feet are wobbling
I feel hugely let down for
Surprisingly that gipsy guy
Has stolen your striking sight
By creating perfidious smiles in you
And his unwise sweet words
That make you feel mine bitter
It is hard to digest that disloyalty
Making me lose my only paradise
My land with a limpid well between
That used to quench my arid thirst
Evaporate the cold in me
To keep my body and soul healthy
Although you no more hug me
But let me die of cold dreams
Fainting to kill your emotions for
Unrealistic promised untrue worlds
I am certain when the day wakes up
The sun will shine for true love to revive

Demagogue not pedagogue
Aghast & agog
Perfidious insidious fog
Reeks of the past
Slog through the smog
Musk seeks to flog
Earth & its serfs
Downed & drowned
In his dystopian bog
Even starry nights
Elon’s neon satellites
Seedier media perch
Utter nutter besmirch
Thriving in the gutter
Conniving depriving church
Vex "X" & Tech T-Rex hex
Or next bogus Rogan
Bogan slogans prevails
Alpha male tales derails
Sod the planet’s scars
Cruise trips to Mars
Odd bod driverless cars
Spawn a fake Tarantino
Remake.."Musk till Dawn"
Devil may care lair..
Loads of lies..skies chock a block
With spies...all eyes on the prize
Everyone Everything Everywhere dies
Let's not parley with gnarly snarly
Musk...takes the mickey & the bicky
In the dock for running amok
Time guys he did finally own up
To being as grown up..
As a Farley’s Rusk (a British biscuit/bicky for a wee kiddy)
they say forgive and forget
remember and hold to account
seems to be frowned upon
and memorable events take a while
to manifest digest and process
narratives change with the core
at every reason and heart
‘everything is wrong and it is all your fault
what exactly you will have to find out yourself
I will put our relationship into a drawer
and possibly open it again once you …’
have changed to her wishes?
relinquished any meaningful part in the drama?
conceded to her perfidious pantomime?
are totally broken?
‘you claimed that one cannot talk to a depressed one
but were you not projecting your discontent?’
years on the metaphorical couch
like a spider in a cobweb of distrust
attempting to just pull one string
breaking at rock bottom
with someone else throwing rocks
from a fortress of a glass house
accusations lies silence pretense of innocence
and turning children against him
he walked a difficult path
many a time running on empty
but eventually it turned out to be
the best thing that could happen
and he found new love
made peace with his offspring
invested in kindness and compassion
now lives with his lover and soulmate
chapters however can only be closed
when the epilogue has been written
when the spine of the book
stands upright in truth
for years he maintained that she
could not have done any better
did not cope with her own crisis
and he absolved her from further critique
the protagonist eventually found his voice
He has become I and I lay to rest
my memories of that evil malignant
and greedy you chose to become
it was you who tore me apart
and watched with satisfaction
when I became vulnerable and depressed
discredit where discredit is you
it is not about settling score
or spread sheets of retribution
simple honesty will do and
I don’t have to be nice
because poems understand
and refrain from judging the writer
but deep in my soul I do not care
that you have turned lonely and bitter
because while I am privy to
exquisite satisfied pleasure
you made your bed
and that is empty for a reason
trying to hack out my eyes and essence
made me spread my wings joyfully
and you are an old haggard crow
merely feeding on crumbs

She was beautiful like the rainbow.
Her fragrant smiling words of luminance. .
Unleashed adrenaline into his mind..
with tactile thoughts of proximal paradise.
His five senses collaborated a screenplay. ..
with billions of brilliant tangled neurons.
He imagined... .the fantasy of being in love.
But deep in the sky of his heart..
Gathered dark chasing clouds.
Storms of rain, snow, sand, fire..
swirled up the grey matter.
The trident crooned,... "Probably","Possibly", "Surely"..
Temperature rises to drop the pressure..
A storm breaks inside the brain.
The folds and crease immerse in chaotic squall.
Pulverises the pernicious clouds.
Thunderstorms rumble loud.
Sparks of lightning flicker.
Perfidious friction is now visible.
Resonance of sight and sound.
In ledger of brain transactions drowned.
A sullen algebra of equations..
with iterations of sixth sense
convolute a restless nexus of unknown variables.
With fearless freedom, the brain breaks and shakes..
A hurricane of frustration. .
A tornado of desperation. .
Yes..He endured the disruptive baritone storm.
It crashed him hard..
He muttered, " It's just a passing crush ".
A thick blanket wraps and obscures the windows of his eyes.
The impending rain peacefully waits for the sun..
for the beautiful rainbow of true love

HIDDEN AGENDA:
It's on record,
Stripping naked in a rainfall.
A prelim lost of freedom,
Heddled by a downfall,
Highlighted with boredom.
The journey is so wrong,
And the prelim wants to hold on.
His soul is crying 'oh Lord'.
Time to time feeling appalled.
The challenge seems so tough.
He wish his life is prolonged,
So he don't demise too young.
The mind is guilty at a cost,
Yes, the prelim is terribly at fault.
But the time is gradually passing out,
And still can't breakout,.
Pressurised by pals,
For him to join their camp,
Indeed he joined them at last.
Later he's realised it's bad,
After the wealth he has amassed,
Can't satisfy his life.
Sacrificed the one he loved,
Only to succeed easily and fast.
Now that the deal is done,
He don't feel so fine.
Surrounded by numerous restrictions,
Gradually getting him diminished.
Always saying he's been foolish.
Figuring out he will soon perish.
Non of his family benefits from his wealth,
As the family's state is not well.
No one understands that tale .
It's a secret that has failed,
Tagged with a notion,
Described as the paramount conclusion.
Surrounded by his cohorts,
Who are also in the same pot.
Hooks up loose ladies,
Uses and troubles them.
Plans carnally to chill at unqualified columns.
Gestures he shows, he ahem,
Anytime questioned about his solemn.
Since he showcases a stealth.
He acts strange,I can tell.
Even his own people,he can't gel.
And their insinuations about him can't be dispelled.
Never doubting words regarding his spell.
This perfidious act proves who he is,
Someone fastened to mortal sin.
Lost from good morals, backslidden.
He didn't get it forbidden.
Buried in devil's riches,
Fifty-fifty sooner die or go mad,
Traded a good soul for vanity, so sad.
Drastic move,Damning not a canard.
A reality to pick a lesson,administered.
How easy it is not to be sought or seen,
hiding from existence,
missing its eloquence...
when feelings resurge
to question the misery of what has been.
Why does one choose
moods of loneliness
and turn into a lurking shadow,
then rest under a solitary willow?
Why be the friend of solitude,
instead of sunshine on spring days?
That's what made me hide,
not living fully and loving happily;
avoiding sunlight, awaiting darkness
and fall asleep on a cold pillow
to emit sighs of painful sorrow.
Did I ever think how beautiful it was
to hold hands and smile while
moonbeams inspired fantasy?
No, I hid from the beautiful moon of midnight
denying myself the sweetness of gentle words
spoken by lips that had the sincerity of a true heart;
how I regret the unwillingness to share those hugs!
Be warned that hiding from existence
is another form of perfidious pretense:
to go unnoticed and not being loved;
are you willing to pay the same price,
or choose to love like the ones who failed twice?
Learn from them and share their joyful world!
Summertime remembered 'twas when we met
By banks of Avon where water runs deep
Burnt into my heart how could I forget
So now your indifference makes me weep.
You ignore me while you flaunt new passion
Why am I discarded so ruthlessly?
False love, you pledged you heartless assassin
I now plead guilty to credulity.
My eyes are dry all my tears have been shed
Was lost for a while but now I am strong
Heart wound not mortal nonetheless I bled
perfidious lover silenced love's song
So, spinster for life is what I will be
No handsome gallant on his bended knee.
This is a very basic sonnet. 10 syllables per line, rhyming scheme 3 stanzas and couplet ending. Iambic Pentameter eludes me at the moment.
“Devoid of decorum and dignity”
Is one of the quotes that I heard.
To know it relates to the POTUS debates
Is as awful as it is absurd.
On one side, a bully whose bluster
Would get him suspended from school;
With no self-control and a hole in his soul,
He’s a pompous, perfidious fool.
On the other side, he who’d replace him
Wants to pacify, help and unite
Yet in making his case, what instead he must face
Is a nasty below-the-belt fight.
In the middle, befuddled and helpless,
Is the person who should be in charge
But when things go off-track, he can’t stop the attack,
Like a substitute teacher writ large.
We watch, feeling sick and despondent,
In shock at how low we have sunk
And that outrage and shame, for which we have no name,
Lingers on in a nightmarish funk.
