Notes About The Poem
An analyst may ease troubled minds
A priest may save our souls
A physician may heal our bodies
We applaud such noble goals
An analyst may add to a mind’s despair
A priest may crush a trusting soul
A doctor may molest a body
Innocence takes a toll—R.G.
“Neither desire nor aversion
Meditation our immersion
Conditioned beliefs discarded
Hymns we hum are our own version”—Unseeking Seeker
You may condemn yourself by judging, as you have sinned the same in error —Anaya

The Rebel
Silence may turn into storms, must I worry?
A lioness soul bends an untamed temperance,
from a peridot palace, this a fierce rage I bury
a populist of pure purpose permanence
so do go gentle on me ‘O judgest condemner
you’ve not seen what is in store for us
I stand with tenets of truth, humanity’s sustainer
not a raging tempest, nor dying light
but an empowering responsive receptor
these spearmint arrows bolt through blight
a polished persona of armor I tour
not the helmet of a hypocrite of bone or ivory
but leather made for a championed goddess,
boots built for the march into Gehenna the Fiery
I don for harrowing heavenly causes
Perfidious, I let you keep the repute given me
the rebel rouser fits me well
The prophet himself, p e r s e c u t e d,
while still he ruffled feathers and raised hell
Social butterfly aficionado
freed from her own platform adrift at bay
with the venerable she’ll find her self-apropos
phased in, time runs away
phased out, booted by biology
Psychologist prescribe me found identity
I’ll do the same for you, if you plummet
Scholarly guru, judge me kindly
though if not of Jainist I don’t see how
There’s an ineffable effigy
to whom I bow, sovereign Lady Liberty
her crown, radiant rays jut like the sun
an aureole flickers of freedom
windows of gems like sacral chakras
I, this blatant believer reverts to rebellion
crusading for campaigns and fair elections
with this, I’ve conquered the storm within
11:59 The doomsday door opening
the clock its tic an AI timer,
a hoax yells his lying tongue
O denier, I mustn’t keep silent
Moksha, can we revisit this later? I admit
give me a bit more time to repent
Amongst autumn’s signature rustling leaves
upon dried maples I walk error-free
our veins spread outward, I roll up my sleeves
alongside rebels alike we fight the king of terrors
Swamiye your sacred motive fills my soul,
with me unseeker are your fragrant prayers
the holy hills call, c o m e, yet I stay
at summit’s foothills with seeker sayers,
raised voices not in praise for the divine, not with joy do we sing,
but with sinful pride we chant harmoniously, no kings!
