Start with sure heart that seeks and finds,
End as you start with peace of mind.

Dare to love cheer with focus right,
Love lives right here within the light.

Lift up your gaze to see the truth,
Walk through life's maze with ample proof.

Dare to dream bold with faith and hope,
Sculpt love that holds the fact you scope.

Rise to the times where change looks strange,
Fate dwells in chimes with tact and range.

Here for a while with road and cares,
Wear your own style and dare swift fare.

Yes you will know just what to do,
Knowing will show the truth of you.

Taste how time speeds upon the way,
Rich textures show how fancy grows;
Ask to meet needs that face each day,
Vouch in deep flow a touch that knows;
Etch a fine dream that moves your heart,
Love laughs a lot when times look tough;
Opt thus to stream life's vivid art,
Gain as wise thought bears all things rough;
Urge cheer to brave life's ups and downs,
End with clear heart that bears each pain.
Keep fool and knave just like a clown,
Ink words that start to bring fond gains;
Note your own style of love that charms,
Dream conjures smiles that love now farms.

Someone

What if I got lost to my direction,
When someone entered,
I did not have your attention.

And now I was called to you again,
A sun that shines after the midnight rain.
My dear someone, a green forest, I must say,
I never hated you, my bitter heart I can’t obey.

Found myself guilty for setting you aside,
But my heart was yours from the start, I shall abide.
My sweet Prince whose eyes do smile,
It makes my day even just for a while.

You must see how I admire you from afar,
You must know I love you, just as you are.
I keep doing things I haven’t done before,
Just for you I’d do it twice, thrice, or more.

A hi for a day is my own style, my way,
A hello from you will keep my lovely day.

Premium Member Numerical Poetry

Start with any number, only numbers 1 to 10. This number represents the number of letters of any one-word that matches the number that you chose. You thought of "5," for example, this should be a five-letter word. Start with this word (any word), but doesn't have to be a personal name or proper noun. You can do it too, but make sure you describe it in a very positive way. It will serve as your poem title and subject or point of interest how you explore this word. ("5" doesn't imply a five line-poem or five stanzas or only 5 five letter-words in each line, however, this can be also be considered as numerical poetry).

Once you started the poem with your given word, end your poem with the same title-word or any word containing the same number of letters of your poem title.

Your poem can be written short or long and it can be presented in any format where you can express it freely.

Describe your emotions from within. Poetry is everyone's life. Yours matters!

              Simple
Simple as driving and flying
Simple as cooking and eating
Reading or writing
Or playing and sharing.
Life is not all about material things.
You may not have much
But you are worth more than a sack of gold
  taken from an empty catch
When you have yourself as You!
Simple...
Dimple!

Simple living is like thriving with a dimple. You are not too great, yet simple in your own ways. Life will bring you down, but don't forget you have an invisible dimple too! No matter how hard life strikes, a single dimple can save your life. Don't forget to smile because dimples can be felt everywhere without physically seeing them from everybody. You can still be attractive and be accepted even without natural dimples that many people have around you. Just think you have at least one... inside of you!

P.S.

If you thought of two or three or four different numbers from 1 to 10 and want to combine them as your poem-title, come up with your own style of writing in any way you can express it. End with the same title or equivalent to each letter-word written in different words

One Little Boy and the Sunny Day

It rained on the parish as steeple bells rang
A loud burst of thunder screamed out with a bang
The doors were all locked which was never the norm
A big crowd of people stood out in the storm
They looked saturated from head down to toe
The rivers were swollen now shone in their flow
With puddles reacting in strangest of ways
This all seemed quite weird on the sunniest day

The leader a man with a full head of hair
He shouted some words that he wanted to share
“This rain will not stop this is what I believe
So I think it’s time that this parish should leave”
The crowd that had listened now said with a frown
“Why is it that rain always seems to fall down.
Whenever we gather, when we congregate
It follows us early and follows us late?”

When then a small child, he came out to say
I don’t feel the rain on this sunniest day
I think that this storm that you all want to hide
Might just now be coming from deep down inside
If only, you’d smile, I know you would see
The bluest of skies that are in front of me
But that is the problem in this sorrowed town
Because you’re not happy, the rains will come down

When one of them smiled and then there were two
A few more then followed, yes that they did do
When suddenly everyone in their own style
Proceeded to wear their most wonderful smile
The next thing that happened, what came to appear
The rainfall it stopped and the skies were so clear
This parish then cheered and rejoiced in such joy
Because they had listened to one little boy

The man with the full head of hair raised the lad
And thanked him for making the parish feel glad
He now was a hero to all who had come
To praise this small child for bringing the sun
But he said “no thank you is needed for me
Because it was in all of you now you see
If you are sad then the rain it will fall
But if you are happy, the sun comes to call”

As fresh and as fragrant, colored hyacinths,
That intoxicates one with heavenly scent.
So may my true, original form of artful poetry,
Bloom and blossom, escaping cells of the past.

To spring into action at each sunrised day!
Not wondering where my poetic desire be.
For truly, as a new child grows free….
And this style takes on its own shape.
I, no longer resist, creating my own fate!

                            ********
Greek Legend has it that Hyacinthus, a young
man from Greece, was beloved by Apollo.
He was teaching him how to throw the discus.
Accidentally, it hit him in the head and killed him.
Instantly!!
Out of his head, the ground soaked with his own
blood, grew the flower, named in his honor of his
Name…. Hyacinthos.
The petals were marked with “Alas”, for sorrow.!

Panagiota Romios.
Romios Poem I
“In My Own Style”

Building

The pillows on our couch inspired
Imaginative play.
My son arranged them carefully
In his creative way.

They formed a fort or hideout
Or a castle or a ship
Or just a group of stepping stones
On which we'd often trip.

That happened many years ago.
Today I watch and smile
As the son of that same pillow boy
Constructs in his own style.

His building blocks are blankets
Used to make his own "hotel,"
With divisions for his parents' room
And sister's space, as well.

He cordoned off the "bathrooms,"
One for girls and one for boys
And when there were no more blankets,
He built walls made out of toys.

I'm glad I got to witness
A new generation's boy
Use his mind and hand to build some walls,
The kind I can enjoy.

Points of View

Looking at the view from the window,
I watch the cars as they pass on buy
The street lamps give a distant glow
Now brightening the darkened sky

Looking at the view from the outside
It has a whole different perspective
Especially if looking from the inside
Things they seem like their reflected

Looking at a view but way out of focus
I ask myself what it is I'm now seeing
Making up my own style of barnacles
But though looks they can be deceiving

A view from a completely different angle
Now that changes the whole dynamics
Different shapes, a square or a triangle
But I don't know much about physics

Premium Member Poetic Power

I believe that the value of a poem lies within the eye of the beholder
Whether you write fact or fiction or maybe a rant about a certain officeholder
It’s the duty of each poet to be true to their own style and follow their heart
Some may deem your work worthy or not worth the powder to blow it apart

Take pride in your work and not what others may think
Write whatever you may feel and trust in the power of the ink
As for me my writing is all over the place depending on how I feel
Somedays are patriotic and some abrasive, but I always try to keep it real

I write to send a message, my style and mine alone
I will always try to be respectful unless you mess with my bone
The bullies know me from the raging in my quill
I’ll always stand up for my friends, no matter how high the bill
