When does the sun rise?
For my four children I've been working Almost every day
There was never enough time to play with you
There were baseball games, dance recitals That you wanted me to come to
But with all the time working There was never enough time for any of you
On weekdays and weekends, I had to do my chores So it left very little time for you four
I may always say maybe the next time Which I might have said so many other times
Sometimes I had to work all night And I wouldn't see you to the next morning light
I know our lives are short, and days go by fast
And all your children grow up in a flash
Then I finally realized that my children Are no longer by my side And now I no longer have to provide
I still have pictures I can still look at Showing me the past and the laughter
I'm retired now and once I was so busy Now all my body and hands are still
And for me, these days are too quiet and hard to kill
I wish I could go back into the past And change all the ways I reacted
And for my four grown children I want to say I'm sorry, and I want to say you are all One in a million and I love you all
It's been like forever since you've gone,
But in my heart you ne'er set like the sun,
For I'm your son in whose heart you live forever,
Till Jannah when we dwell again together;
All my dreams have been about you dad,
Atanda that groomed me to be a happy lad.
I never thought that one day I'll write this letter,
But we say Alhamdulilah because God knows better;
Every human is your family,
For you're a man with compassion and empathy.
How would I have known that you'll be away?
Dad your thoughts are my food everyday;
Things haven't been the same since you've gone,
For it seems my cap is stolen and my garment torn.
Every words I say prays and remember you sir,
For you're one in a million- a shinning star;
How I wish you could read this letter,
You're now in Jannah and God knows better.

Acknowledgments.
My writing teacher who lit the fire,
my broken heart I had to repair,
my muse from the very beginning.
My insane desire to keep climbing,
my ambition that knows no bounds,
my taste that desires one in a million.
My shoes that will never need socks,
my spirit that is never on blocks,
my dreams that roll in with high tide.
My conspirators demanding gold,
my haters that are seething pyrite,
my copycats out doing their worst.
My feelings bubbling and determined,
my words filthy that make me gag.
My inner child that refuses reality.
My resilience and all that built it,
my reckless forcing me forward,
my microphone I share poetry on.

Women are many in the world
Over billions and billions
Dark skinned and light skinned
Beautiful and ugly
Tall and short
Rich and poor
Young and old
But you are one in a million.
I have travelled to all continents
But I have seen none like you
I have gone to Asia
I have gone to Africa all over
I have gone to Europe
I have gone to all continents,
But I have found none like you.
The love you give me
The peace I feel when with you
The care you show m
The promises you always promise me
Possible and impossible
Can take me for the rest of my life

There's always one in a million
There's always a light in the dark
There's always hope for tomorrow
In the beating of the best hearts
And when we're feeling alone
Betrayed by the outside world
There's always that special someone
Who will make us feel like we're home
So look up at the stars
Know you're brighter than them all
See the milky way
Know you're part of her light and glory
See the stars shining like heaven
Angels looking down at you
See the sun rise in the morning
Know your dreams are coming true
For there's always one in a million
There's always a light in the dark
There's always hope for tomorrow
And you can be the brightest of stars

The tiny being is gliding through the air,
swirling, dancing, stretching it's limbs,
" Look at me, watch what I can do.
I am all glittery and shiny.
Look at me float and twirl."
Slowly it is descending lower and lower.
"Where am I going?
What is this place?
It is all white, is it a magic place?"
Finally it comes to a stop on the branch
of a cedar tree.
It settles down and looks around,
filled with curiosity.
"This is a quiet place, peaceful and calm.
I see many more trees like this one.
I see a meadow, white and clean,
shiny and pristine.
I like it here!"
The little snowflake smiles.

Focus attract pain
People whose opinions
Is base on selfish interest
They are good talkers
Yet deceit never leaves
