A hot July evening, and nothing had stirred,
the minutes just ticked slowly past,
too hot for much effort, and even the birds
gave up chirping as long shadows cast.
I savoured the moment and reached for my glass,
cold lager to help quench my thirst,
when I saw something black in the bubbles of gas,
close inspection, and I feared the worst.
A fly had snook down while my back had been turned
lost it's footing and fell in the beer,
and now paddled in vain for the side of the glass
but could not make it out of first gear.
Since it spoiled my enjoyment, a spoon for employment
was acquired and from my drink was scooped
the sad fly in some drops, poured it out where it stopped
with no movement, all out it was pooped.
With it's legs in the air (and I know, I've been there)
it finally righted itself, shook a wing, rubbed it's head
but not flying, instead took a gentle walk on my shed shelf.
Oblivious now to the story of how
I'd just graciously saved it's poor life,
I wondered as it slowly wobbled off home-
what on earth did it say to it's wife?
I think, Flat-earthers are abundant –
those who prefer visible planes,
never taking that leap of faith
at horizons; who would rather
focus on rosy hues out from a radiant
center; seeing sun rising and setting,
oblivious to the fact that they very well
are walking upside down in a weightless
universe...
I think, love can be like that~ walking upside
down in a weightless universe...death may also
have an up-righting twist...the other side of a life-coin,
that a computer generated society refuses to lift and
turn over – willing to rewrite any chance for future
reward, thinking some new program will negate the
old desktop with its often used icons linking with
damnation.
“The rot has sunk in deep
Yet we continue to sleep”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grooves of habit
Becoming reflex instinct
No longer wait
Our originality extinct
Waking from sleep
We expect our body to be there
Is it not a hypnosis deep
Of or true origin now unaware
At a secondary level
In each and every thing we do
Oblivious to Gods miracles
So patterned has become our view
Even in thought rested awareness
In the vibrant void of cessation
Memory imagery stuporousness
Obscures depth of our elation
Energy pulsations toroidal
Beauteous full complete loop
Would it not be tragicomical
If to lower orbits it stoops
So to feel the throb in fullness
To become the bliss fizz
Mindfulness renews emptiness
Then that that is is as it is
In shadows deep, where silence grew,
I fought a battle, none ever knew,
The weight I bare, a heavy chain,
While smiles hid deep, the hidden pain,
They laughed and chatted, lost in the day,
oblivious to the demons in my way,
I wore a mask, crafted so bright,
yet the tears fell, softly into the night,
I cried for help in whispers faint,
But their backs turned, as if by fate,
A gentle plea, a grasping hand,
Yet they missed the signs, the need to understand,
Now the echos linger a haunting sound,
Of moments lost, of love untold
They stand in sorrow, crying when it's late
Wishing they had noticed,
Before it was fate.
h u r t me…
with your deadly devotion,
leave lethal love-bites
across pulsing pages…
I ache to wear the burning blaze
of your rhymes around my neck,
to be choked by poetic desire,
to be punished with personified fire…
but what is a jewel
without your touch?
there is no gold ~ free-falling
from outer space,
deeper than sparks rising higher,
in tune with the mercury madness,
the cosmos of craving ~
taste this undying thirst
for ethereal union,
wrist to wrist, poem to poem,
ink to ink, skin to skin,
lips locked in longing,
as I yearn for eternal rest ~
knowing that when
I return, you’ll still be there,
willingly mine, evermore,
leashed to my Stygian stars,
O beloved blue moon rarity,
my Orpheus of musical silver,
where the throb of Eurydice
echoes like the pain of passion
I cradle within ~ heaven’s roses
bruised by obsession,
throned in an orchard of thorns
where every petal bleeds
the fragrance
of fatal fidelity ~
surrender
to my fixated fantasy,
worship the warmth of want,
as I slip into the
void of this endless black,
swallowing the ambrosia
from your acidic tongue
that drips venom and verses,
hauntingly hypnotizing
with the wet
heat of a rain-soaked lyre,
where we will be reborn
from the underworld ashes
of ghost-glazed diamonds…
I crave to be the cluster of reasons,
the wedded widow,
still gowned in viper’s devouring,
chained in anklets jeweled
with jinxed jade,
dragging me down a realm
of the unspoken
parts of the underworld ~
oblivious to the earthly creatures
crawling through coldness…
I am smoothly strangled
by the symphonic sentiments
of a loyal liaison,
an epic obedience,
that made the angels of life and death
weep and sleep
to the sound of defiant dews
of a reckless romance ~
for love seeps from curling
words into a
floundering bloodstream,
tying fanatic temptation
to the corpse tunes of gothic twilight…
When streams of paper roses,
bleed bitter fragrances,
evil mists of leaves slowly fall,
drifting along autumnal
breeze of yesterdays.
And i question
unseen dirt trapped
between sharpened thorns:
what if the sun,
at the end of your horizon,
seems brighter
than the skies in my mind?
What if days are a little longer
than the spoonful of quiet nights
you’ve fought?
Would you still paint
hollow bones of every skeleton
in your glass closet,
with black and white traces
flickering through
sociopathic holes and into
the windows of your rusted soul?
But what if, all this time,
you’ve been seeing silver linings
through ruby tinted glasses,
whilst steadying
your befogged sight with the core
of the devil’s unspoken mantras?
Maybe, the fault is in what flows
beneath your thick flesh,
that refuses to let redolent air
to rush in,
unless wicked winds
orchestrate songs of your
delusional manifestation.
So unlock the rails of
your iron heart,
follow me to the fields
of fluorescent fuchsias;
for I’ve always dared
to speak invisible visions
of my scarlet desires,
as I run with teal green wildflowers,
where pleasure spells my name
across lawns
in soft lavender dusks.
I fear no mourning monsters
dressed in golden feathers;
virtual vultures
speaking in demonic dialects,
waltzing with energy vampires.
They pretend to be angels
of cyan eden, oblivious
to the burning hell they reek,
exhaling scripted sentiments
of sanctimonious metaphors.
Whilst rhyming with a
cruel conscience,
seeking for meaningless endings.
They craft empty
expressions in
ghostly recitations,
revised to ruin
every starry sphere,
where achromatic ink-sanity,
remains reluctant to
follow me and my moon.
Here's my philosophy for what it's worth
Not the first time I've expressed my outlook on life
The stress of modern every day living
Is showing on the faces of people in the street
All with cell phones plastered to their ears
Oblivious to the world around them
A cold breeze has enveloped our very existence
No longer the friendly greetings we once expressed
We're totally wrapped up in the complexities
That have been thrust upon us
It's an exciting age of amazing technology
The much more simpler days of years gone by
Are gone forever never to return
Each generation longs for their past
A feeling of nostalgia grips us as we age
Wishing to relive the exuberant days of our youth
But time marches on relentlessly
As I sit here at my powerful computer
Messaging faceless people in the four corners of the earth
Like others, I tend to forget this is an amazing age
But it's only the latest chapter
Of countless more chapters to follow
Our minds can't conceive where this will all lead
The only thing that's certain is progress
So be ready to be amazed
The future is filled with untold exciting new adventures
That our minds can't conceive or even imagine
It's a exciting time to be alive
The void is nothing, so nothing to fear,
Try not be afraid when buried in here,
A complete empty desolate place,
Without walls, windows, ceiling, or base.
Darkness reflects back from obsidian,
Just an endless vortex continuum,
Absolute and utter by self definition,
Yet indefinite by its own composition.
Oh voids are stark if not very clear,
Oblivious, blind, possessing no cheer,
Always try and look beyond the black,
Thousand yard stare, uncovers cracks.
Through crevices, now I see the escape,
Voids disappear, if you establish shape,
Never throw your hand, under menace,
for our own demons, love to condemn us.
Time is ticking, where do you stand
Oblivious to who really controls your land
Working class… working fast
While working many perform crafty tasks
Promises for peace, truth and understanding
The undertone requires sacrifice and branding
What will you do on that day?
The bible says many will go astray
What will you think when there’s no order?
And you find out they regulate all your borders
Greed consumes the majority
It’s as if you’re already in their sorority
Fallen into the webs and traps
Inside media, hip hop and rap
So many sink into the lies
Of hypocrisy and compromise
Judgment comes within the church first
Many of Gods people seem to live the worst
You can manipulate people and alternative places
But I pity the day the lord rebukes all those faces
Repent while you can, turn from sinful desires
To save yourselves from the eternal fires
Seek Godly counsel, surrender your will
So your life’s purpose can actually be fulfilled.
THE SILENT LOVER
I knew well, you fell in love with me
Your eyes reflected ardent ardor
But it seemed blunt, not sparkling splendor.
Felt pity yet no weakness.
You were not the right person
Most ordinary version,
not my Mr. Perfect with desired intellect.
My blooming youth with promising present
and aspiring future was the prime truth.
Your eagerness to come close seemed ridiculous to me.
It was oblivious not to reciprocate!
On long journey of life, such trivial happenstances may appear
quite natural, I did not indulge and chose my own way.
Time passed by.
Now still static old age lying supine
on burnt ashes of dynamic youth revealing ruthless truth.
Lamentation of losing your modest lavender love
secreted nectar of amorous flow oozing from abyss of my heart
yielding a pearl of dolor.
Now no way left to adore you with my pearly passion.
