Wondering how fairies obtain dresses?
It's because they have fairy seamstresses
Sewing with pine needles and spidery
Gathered from spiders fine web filigree.
Pretty petals for fabric, leaves for shoes
Smelling of sweet fragrant floral perfume
Flowers to adorn their flowing tresses
Crystal star droplets sown into dresses.
Gossamer to turn into fairy wings
So fairies may fly in sky, revelling
Sprinkles of fairy dust, a wand for luck
When all dressed up, so pretty fairies look.
When you find fairies in a fairy glade
Recall how their lustrous outfits are made.
My Christmas tree in sparkling dress
stands in my window to impress.
She smiles at all the passersby.
She waves hello. She is not shy.
She winks at all the trees she sees
in nearby houses on the street.
She seems to shiver with delight
counting the minutes till midnight.
For one late hour wakened from sleep
through the dark house on slippered feet
I crept, while up, to catch a glance
of tinseled Christmas ambiance.
Outside the window daintily
danced my glittering Christmas tree!
With others down the street and back!
They twirled around the cul-de-sac!
Amazed I gazed quiet and still,
propped against the window sill, till
tired but thrilled I left to resume
much needed rest in my bedroom.
I heard giggling in early light
when she slipped in and stood just right.
But, she leaves needles everywhere
and ornaments dropped here and there.
She’ll have her fun till New Year’s Day,
then take a nap all tucked away.
Next year she’ll dress and dance again
with all her many merry friends.

Poe was always revising his prose between publications. Here are the longest extended versions of sentences he shortened for their final publication in his lifetime:
"We loved each other with a love that was more than love, more love than fit in an empty grotes bag, more than the love of worms if you were a hungry, hungry catfish."
"I became insane, with long intervals of sanity, then more insanity, then sane for a while, then my brain got all twisted up and went mad, then I got better. I've lost track."
"All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream, within another dream, within a rusty tubular tin box of sewing needles made into the handle of a doll's hairbrush."
"Believe only half of what you see, nothing of what you hear, three quarters of what you taste, one-tenth of what you feel, but the entirety of what you smell."
"Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night, as for example bats, yes bats, did you know you could leave the cage door open in the bright of day and your bats will go nowhere."
"Sleep, those little slices of death, how I loathe them, also the neighbor's nippy little dog, egads I hate that dog."
"If you wish to forget anything on the Spot, make a note that this thing is to be remembered, then tie it to Spot's collar, and turn him loose in some terrible neighborhood where people eat dogs."
"To elevate the soul, poetry is necessary, also those little candy root beer barrels."
"I felt that I breathed an atmosphere of sorrow, but it was Catterina that farted."
"I fell violently on my face, rolled to my side, grunted horrible grunts of gruntlyness, then flopped onto my back and waved my arms all about, still grunting."
"Darkness and Decay and the Red Death held illimitable dominion over all, while Catterina licked her paws and I felt around in my pocket for my last dime but all I found was a raggedy little hole."
Winne the poo, had nothing to do, one dank and dismal day, as he sat in his chair rather filled With despair, when he heard a noise just plainly as day, it went kinda like squeek..!
Did his little chair creak? 'prhaps he had eaten too much honey.. ! Got carried away?? he was fond of that Chair, just perfect for a bear, painted a bright emerald green, with scrollwork in blue; he was Afraid it might break, oh..! Just where would he eat cake? & would his feet always ache? His thoughts they were all a to do.!!!
He got up slowly with great care, ( which is harder for bears ) it looked quite strong,
As he gazed at it long..... Then loud again came that squeek.." he followed the sound,
That came from low down.. To a rug right behind his small seat, and there was a mouse."
The first he'd seen in his house, he wondered how-why it was there, he bent down low
Hey.." the mouse didn't go..! It L 00 ked into his eyes, that was such a surprise...!
Then he saw why it squeeked and squeeked so.." Its small tail was trapped,
And yet had not snapped..? It was under the leg of his shiny green chair.." He lifted it clear,
Then continued to peer, at the mouse with two big black ears, now how are you named
Winnie exclaimed..." Mickey it said rather high, and my tail needs a repair, can you help me My bear?? as I don't have a spare, just you wait right there, Winnie said I will share, maybe There's a bandage somewhere, perhaps in my box of repairs..?? with the patches & string, needles and
Things,,! so he quickly ducked under the stairs, and searched it right through, then to mickey he Threw a bandage; to wrap round his tail, for repair, they became such good friends, as the bear made Amends, Mickey said you are fair, a really nice bear.!
For now; this poem has come to the end.)
You know a few years from now
my son is gonna get curious
I know eventually we gotta have that talk
I gotta take that walk back down memory lane
I then been threw so many changes
But I'm from the hood so to him
I gotta speak that real language
And it makes me wonder
not really all that worried
the kinda lifestyle I carried
but that was after I got legal
knowing he gotta walk thru
the same blocks I walked thru
seeing them D-Boyz, Street Thugs,
Dope Fiends, Dark Alleys, & Drug Needles
But I guess all I can do is
pray for better days
while I'm daydreaming in a daze
hoping one day he doesn't
end up in dat same cage or
sittin sideways on the corner
wit his top laid back
but like Jay I had to fade to black
and just stay faithful in God's promise
Yea he'll go threw trials & tribulations
I just pray he wont get overwhelmed
by Satan
Her nature was gentle, and as soft as the rain
A butterfly so fragile, with procelin skin
Fragrant blossom, nectar sweet
Bathed in humbled innocence...
Entrapment came regaled in white
With western charms, this wasp would sting
He picked this budding branch with false intent
His kisses spent, upon her dainty cheeks
So into bliss she flew, caught by wily arms
and promises of love, with no intent to keep
With fickle breath he stole her heart
And played the part without a thought, without a care
He was an actor upon this stage....the cage
a nuptial made as thin as air
He said farewell, with lies and smiles
To sail awhile, across the rolling seas
Leaving needles in her heart
Her frail wings pierced upon the day
And when those falsehoods sailed, her love impaled
While far away, he spent his charms in other arms
Her face would stare upon the tides
Her eyes would cry soliloquies
Her song would yearn...would he return?
Her trust swept into waves...
And then a year or more would pass,
The child she bore, stood by her side...
And still love lasts, and while she waits, the ocean breeze
would carry on, those restless seas, the haunting song ....
Would carry on and on....she calls.........she calls his name...
With futile hopes to ease her pain
Her shame to learn the truth, and then to finally learn
Another shore......another bride!!
Another shore......another bed......to learn such truth...the final dread!
She cannot lift her head...the loss....the pain.....! OH! Hide thy face!
Oh! Such disgrace...an honor black with shame
What cannot be erased.......too much is dead!
Her death will free the fragile wings
Upon her knees, the final bend
By her own hand......her father's knife
Will take the life of Butterfly. BUTTERFLY!! Butterfly! ....butterfly!....

I’ve no front teeth cos when I was twenty four
I lost those teeth to a very slippy floor
I’m nineteen stone and as big as I may be
There ain’t no way you’re sticking needles into me
I lost my leg back in nineteen ninety three
A Great White Shark bit it off below the knee
I bore that pain as I bled into the sea
But there ain’t no way you're sticking needles into me
The gash on my neck which I did when I was shaving
Sure did sting but with no ranting and raving
It took a while to heal up and my blood ran free
But there ain’t no way you’re sticking needles into me
I grew up with my fists up for my neighbourhood was rough
The guns and knives (that’s just the wives) and punch ups made me tough
No shank and no machete made me turn about and flee
But there ain’t no way you’re sticking needles into me
I haven’t any fingers on my left hand anymore
They had an altercation with a spinning power saw
So pain and me, you see, share familiarity
But there ain’t no way you’re sticking needles into me

[Just to clarify… I’m not 19 stone (266 pounds), I do have front teeth, I have two legs, eight fingers, two thumbs and I’m not scared of needles… form an orderly queue ladies…]
Nobody knows the thought that goes through my mind.
Nobody knows the truth of who I am.
See I am what I am, what I'm not I'll never be.
Freedom? I'm far from being free.
Birthday feels like a burden, birth of one of uncertainty.
Death looking over my shoulder in place of a placeholder.
Being pierced by a thousand needles can't be compared to this pain
Needless to say, I'm neither here nor there.
Nobody in my vision, but that one person is vivid
I try not to become heartless so I just use my heart less
Nobody knows me, I'm singing a tune but not in tune.
Trying to paint a picture, but not picture perfect.
Anything gain can be lost, not everything present was in my past.
Everyone moves on to a better cause.
Is it written that I'll never be forgotten? For every good fruit has to get rotten.
A Canadian goose...
Became friends with a Colorado blue spruce.
The former a teacher,
The latter a preacher.
"Why are you sad?", asked the bird.
"It's cause of the world news that I heard!".
The winged creature than began a prayer,
And the branched conifer felt it in the air.
"I pray each of your needles live as one,
As your journey has just begun."
The kind words were so appreciated,
The towering fern joined the educated;
"And you I wish your wings will fly,
With God's blessings in the sky."
Relationships can bud be it cat and dog,
Or of peace and harmony between bug and frog.

Grant me wings so I may fly,
Weightless floating, high in the sky,
Above the ignorance of other people,
No one understands that we're all equal.
Born on this planet earth,
Set in stone at the moment of birth,
People need to realize,
All our truths succumbed to lies,
Dreams of soaring aside eagles,
Just to wake on a bed of needles.
Freedom comes with a price,
Over time, became twice, and thrice.
Sleeping comfort on a cloud,
Problems of the earth endowed,
Upon your shoulders, wrapped with burden,
Atlas shrugged and no one heard him.
If there's anything I've learned in life,
Love your neighbor, love your wife,
Love your family, pray for good health,
Fear no evil , for you have wealth,
Wealth of mind , body , and spirit,
Use these tools, possibilities, infinite.
