Premium Member The Last Organ Grinder

Bedraggled the old man sat, monkey on his lap.
However could he recover from this mishap?
Louts took his organ and attacked him with a bat.
Monkey on his lap, bedraggled the old man sat.

His old heart gutted, his mind totally wrenched.
Rain yesterday had left him quite drenched.
We are OK my darlin, to his monkey he muttered.
His mind totally wrenched, his old heart gutted.

The rooftop a safe haven, for he and his pet.
Not much chance of another organ, he will get.
He was an expert on the organ, a regular Maven.
For he and his pet, the rooftop was a safe haven.

He can still sing, dance and tap the old soft shoe.
He was the best organ grinder New York ever knew.
Shoes are worn, organ gone, his monkey is everything.
Dance and tap the old soft shoe, he can still sing.

Cracked Iceberg

Chubby cream grubby against white ice
Hungry somewhat clumsy polar bear heist
Hopefully loping over to an asylum of seals
Tusked beasts bound to become tasty meals

Damp nose oscillates, catch tongue anticipates
Hook claws extend, jagging his cumbersome gait
Ungainly angle rotates blundering bear ballerina
Jaws roar frustrated, mishap sadly signals dinner

Jolly bodied, barrel stocky well insulated brood
Swivel protruding chests to avoid being food
Fear pulls polar threat away, phew! - Relax
Pack pacify, raft drifts after cold cracks

Snowy blows his nose with hankie huge paws
Lucky that chubby has arms strong as oars
Iceberg dips, whiskers twitch while wishing
Imminent swim success - in frigid fishing

This Just In- Spell Chex Mishap

"we can only
call it a tragedy"
so said principal
(name not to be used
or mention the school)
"the boxes of spell chex
suggests using butter milk
to get the optimum amount

and more
of your daily
fat intake, but
mistakingly soy
milk was actually
used" refusing to say
any more we talked with
some of the faculty, staff and

students of this
highly prestigious
catholic elementary
school who bore witness
to what was already said to
only be called a tragedy but a
tragedy of errs that shakespeare
would make comedic asking one of

the surviving
students what did
happen? shakingly she
said "we were told never
to use the f word so i didn't
know what that means but there
we're a lot of f's floating in my bowl"
stopping she started uncontrollably

crying so we asked
one of the kitchen staff
he said "at first i didn't see
what was being read but when
one of the older nuns passed out
i ran over to see what was up and aboot
so i looked in one of the student's bowls
and he not knowingly was poking the word

it starts with a c and
like the uvula in your
mouth but is between
a woman's i can't say
anymore" so it seems
that spell chex should
not be rated G but as
it's name suggests X

back to
you and
the news
i'll be at
the scene
for any
further
details

Heaven In Hell

All people that on Earth do Dwell
if you have sex you'll go to Hell
unless of course you share a ring
then God will let you do your thing.
But you of course must play the game
that hypocrites shout in his name;
the rules are clear you must not stray,
don't question God, it's just that way!

But who interprets God's true word
the story really is absurd,
his rules of course were set in stone
by Moses looking for a home.
But even he thought they were crap,
his temper led to that mishap
when even stone was forced to break,
the rewrite.... just a second take?

In name of God, from broken stone,
we must not stray from those at home
or you will find without a doubt
that from your home you'll be thrown out.
But was it not another deed
forbid by God let Eve conceive?
For only when he cast both out
did birth of Mankind come about.

All people that on Earth do Dwell
if we have sex we'll go to Hell.
But when we're in that deepest pit,
as long as everyone can fit,
I'm sure we all will have some fun
where with our friends we're joined as one
and maybe when down there we dwell
we'll share the Devil's wife as well!

Premium Member Happy 19th Anniversary

I went on searching since the latest year of 19th century
A place where I can truly share my poetry
A consequence when one of my uncles had inspired me
Sharing his poems at US National Library of Poetry.

I went to a computer rental shop
I paid five hours a day searching, but it was all day’s mishap
The National Library of Poetry won’t accept my work
It required residents- perhaps, only citizens or migrants at work?

I kept going back and forth at the same computer place
Searching sites for my poems, hoping for grace
But only NLP of USA was at google search
To compensate my time, I printed all my uncle’s work.

Then my opportunity knocked on the 20th century
To go abroad, but just a land close to my country
At 2012, a photo of a praying boy and his dog inspired me
To create my first poem while I was away from my family.

Then followed another burning desire to search a poetry site
Gratefully, I’ve finally dug the greatest treasure and light
Poetry Soup was there, so clear, so big and so bright
The very first and only poetry place appearing in my sight.

I read many poets’ poems and they were all very good
I found poets were all friendly, so welcoming in every road
I tried to find my first written name-poem as my intro
Posted after 3 days along with the dog’s prayer and a few.

With the biggest inspiration coming from the best poetry soup
I’ve learned A-Z poems and from all talented poets of this group
It served as my greatest poetry school for 12 years
My best community and 2nd family- feeling all the love, no more tears.

Thank you so much Poetry Soup for accepting me
I’ve learned a lot, with more written poems of mine, I’m so happy
If there’s a graduation here, I beg and make the biggest plea
Let me repeat all your courses, may I stay here. Happy 19th anniversary!

Premium Member All the reasons why

Everyone has a place they are coming from
Don't goad the horse when it won't run.
I detect sorrow in your eyes
Because there were no alibis.

(chorus)
All the reasons why
You gave it your last try
The only way to forgive yourself
is to take the past off the shelf
It's worthwhile when you pause
Trace the roots, trace the cause
Find a peace under God's sky:
When you know the reasons why.

Our mind is a spectator, but we're also on the stage
We adlib the lines, when we can't find the page.
There's a gap between who we are and who we wish to be.
Who we are is how we deal with that discrepancy.

Some blame others for that gap
Some blame it on fortunes mishap
Some say they meant it all along
Convince themselves there's nothing wrong.

You can replay the movie in your mind
Facing facts can feel unkind
Still, tracing causes breaks the chain,
So you won't show that side again.

All the reasons why,
The thoughts we hide, the truths we deny.
And if your heart can heal again,
It starts with seeing where it’s been.
We’re all just travelers on our own
Kicking ourselves for what we should have known.
At least we have to try.
To find out the reasons why.

An Evil Day

Ere some three or four-odd days
Began our nature show some craze.
The people, truly afraid, to say,
Nowhere did find a place to stay.

The initial portension was a fire,
That left a pile of ashes and mire,
But no one knew whose was this ire,
That made our town a devil’s pyre.

Trembled, trembled everything!
And to and fro moved all the things,
That was bound by the earth insane,
Thus on the floor they’re strewn and lain.

I stared at the top of the furniture,
And heaved to find their stately nature,
Then moments fleeted in a quiet,
With farms and huts, being fine and trite.

No longer, though, prevailed this calm;
Crescendoed slowly omen’s hum;
Inaudibly was audible
That faintest screech of the strongest rebel.

On all directions fetish hung
To combat dread that evil flung,
And worshipped Christ’s generous hand,
“O save Thou us, our potent friend!”

But sinner must be most of them,
Or why from God did these trials stem?
Or not Him, but a freak of evil,
Did hurl a woe, so grand and ill?

There blew no air, but still fell down,
Glasses brought from a Chinese town,
A pair of steady dolls, whom loved
My cousin, she them fondly preserved.

That evil day finally came,
No man stayed outside, nor a dame;
The children too did stop their game,
Little children, hard to tame.

They all were scared, and none did dare
To foretell what was in the air,
Uncanny stench was all felt there,
In dense settlement and fields bare.

“See, quiver, quiver all the things!
The church-bell timid itself rings!”
And wandered lonely a frightened man,
Oft he strolled and oft he ran.

My mother prophesied a ghoul
That might again on mankind drool,
Had overwhelmed us with spells of terror,
And in this way our sin did mirror.

But as far as can I recall,
A graceful sphinx of the palace hall,
That burnt and turned into baleful earth,
Wrought a mishap in highest mirth!

Fallen From

I tell you I've no use
mind removed
ideas confuse
compare to
a sports team seen
consecutive relegations
the changing scenes
cause debts and frustration
a one way street
in season repetition

Down one league
Down two
should be the big fish
but at this level new
and unfathomed twist
see us screwed
unsecure

State of the art home ground
3 or 4 times larger than
small clubs going all out making victory harder
They want to win this trophy fixture
we’re a club shouldn’t be in the mixture
unanticipated failure too fall here

Away games on pitches not so well kept
effects ball control then mindset
kind of test we know of less
empty stands and those left stress
as all resources overstretch

Once a giant national name
now a forgotten has been team
slow to adapt mishap lose game
now left are memories and no chance dreams

And though this place has more to offer
it stays potential an idea by logic
theories of gold when here is copper
can’t begin when heads keep dropping

players now have half the fitness
lower standard faults to witness
contract offers unattractive
no one new and the skilled have left
and though all in all collapsed in
I’m still not done
survive no surrender
kill shots in my gun
alive in splendour

Bullets are few can’t fire at will
clip pull by decision not haste
need skill nothing to waste must focus
find vision strong will hope for hocus pocus

but I am not a sports club
I'm a person and this comparison
serves no purpose above
explanation for you so still
I'm half undone half done
making sense of what has come
the road ahead dark and glum

clueless no use and confused
stunned by madness in shock
so stuck I'm amused
tombstone will read
came unglued
and played to lose

Unforgettable Sad Moment In My High School

heart snapped off hearing the news of my friend's unforeseen scarring mishap

Disclaimer: This unpredicted incident happened in the year 2009 when I was in 9th grade. My friend Vivek met with frightening tragedy while he was riding bike along with his cousin sitting behind.Unfortunately,
his brother died on spot and my friend was mercifully rescued.Attaining deep injuries was in a state of coma.
A major shock to his family and us(classmates and teachers).Striken by grief we held him in our faith & prayers every single day for his progress & arrival.
In a month or two we heard he was normal but had required rest for few months.
We were all excited to meet him once he came back to school though felt bitter looking at his scars everyday. Now he is perfectly all right and blissful young man.
Recalling his mishap evokes trembling tears in my eyes even today..!!
