Unseen talon sharp claws...
dig deep into mine
psyche soft underbelly
piercing bedrock of
core (puss) being
akin to butter knife
slicing thru peanut
butter and jelly
unable to preserve
an iota of calm,
which eruption of cataclysmic
agitation analogous to a bomb
going off inside my head,
where a mishmash
of frenzied discombobulated
brainstorming angst doth glom,
whereat the "little boy"
inside this man
called for his mom,
who when this aging
"baby boomer" chap
just a kid and experienced
devastating, jarring,
and paralyzing tom
malt chew hiss in dom
mitt able inexplicable fear,
though NO obvious
danger threatened, NOR
warning signaled "BEWARE,"
nonetheless adrenaline
coursed from head
to toe as if clear
and present harm
lurked quite near,
inducing a host of
physiological fallout symptoms
darkly freighting this
sole son with nightmarish scare,
whereat no escape,
nor exit no matter
how fast a sprinting tear
found me running
mile a minute only
to end up nowhere,
except smackdab right
in the same place
in relation to despair,
which translates to mean...
yours truly could not
run and hide,
as quickly made clear
to me then, and now,
though at present
scores years older, the balm
courtesy of prescription
medication popped inside
mouth from palm
olive smoothed hands,
as if this teetotaler
betook himself prom
men aiding albeit
with tumblerful of liquor
getting feigning noggin all a jam
aware that nothing amiss,
would be evident,
sans lower gastrointestinal exam,
nonetheless diet
restricted to graham
crackers and broth
distilled from ham
hock, once again thwarting
vegetarian ambitions damn!
We are in a crisis
The thoughts and visions inside us
Coming out to play
And making you pray
For all this to go away
I see your desperation
And this broken situation
I see your efforts to battle the demons
I also watch how this strengthens
Your mind running rampant
Your actions show detachment
Not knowing who you are anymore
Nothing is the way it was before
This is not your fault why this happened
No one could of seen or imagined
That malabsorption caused the decline
And your mind to resign
I see the terror when you see the shadow
Your heart beats rapid and your eyes narrow
Palms get clammy
Your eyes go glassy
Dropping into an episode fast
The stress caught up with you at last
A blackout moment to reset your mind
Temporary reprieve from the role assigned
I see your confusion about what you hear
But trust me those voices and people are not near
You are in a place of safety
Where you can express yourself safely
You feel judgement looming
Intensifying thoughts becoming consuming
I wish I could take the pain away
So you can be living your life today
I hear your fears, I hear you wanting to end the pain
It would indeed rest your brain
But cause the ones who love you most
To also become ghosts
Your life is precious to us
Your pain has to be open to discuss
We want to be able to save you
From this life of pain in view
Let’s hope the new little pill
Will make her head go still
Calm the voices and noise
And give her back laughs and joys
The shadows are the enemy
Brutality stealing away your identity
They are haunting your mind in the present
Isolating you and becoming unpleasant
I hope this new medication
Will banish the derealisation
And bring you back whole and unharmed
The only scar is to being alarmed
You and bipolar can live in harmony
Working together on this evolving journey
He isn’t your foe but your friend
A life together you both attend
P.S.
I’m proud of you for hanging on.
A skeleton walks into a bar and says
“Gimme a beer and a mop”
Show me where Joseph Stalin is buried
And I'll show you a communist plot
My masseuse rubbed me the wrong way again
Fired her though she had good skills
A duck in a bar orders a couple of beers
Says, “Just put it on my bill”
About seven million people are overweight
These, of course, are round figures
Where would you find giant snails I ask
On the ends of a giant's fingers
Studied over four years to become a doctor
But I didn't have any patience
A Buddhist refused Novocain from his dentist
To transcend dental medication
Had a job working in an orange juice factory
Got canned 'cause I couldn't concentrate
Also worked for a pool maintenance company
Too draining so getting fired was my fate
Thought I'd try working as a tailor a while back
But the job wasn't suited for me
Can you please tell me the purpose of reindeer
It makes the grass grow, my sweetie
Enough is enough so until next time we meet
Thanks for your indulgence once more
I will definitely want your honest critique
But please be gentle, I implore

Outside of spiritually empowering meditation
is nature's organic liturgy
of creation
more positively enlightening
than degenerative dogma.
Within liturgical ritual
awaits spirited medication
healing win v lose,
left v right,
yang v yin,
inhale v exhale,
ego v eco
inside v outside
below v above
before v after wounds,
Reconnecting our bicameral
bilateral
binomial potential
for win/win resolutions,
resiliently resonant
Natural sacraments
causing effective causes
with spirited
regenerating intent
holy
as holonic
iconically interconnected
Analogous metaphors
inside ecological theologies
outside neurological biology,
polypathic history of regenerators
enlightening empowerment,
once again secular/sacred
resiliently resonant.
it can't always be pretty according to your art
i submit to your thematic presentation and simply play the part
affection is an eraser with allergies in need of medication
how i wish you could clearly see the sincerity of my dedication
as i sit here feeling like a blank without a hint of a jacket
i wonder what the purpose is for your unorthodox racket
my intent is dismissed as imagination with raw burns from worn rope
the contrasts of the both of us has once again rendered us unable to cope
i guess this is the part where one of us will shed a tear
why must we burn unnecessary energy to balance ourselves as one back to Here....
Why did you run?
Trapped in illusion with doctors and pills
Stretched to your mind's limit
searching for God
A daughter abandoned..love set adrift
Consuming books, seeking answers
Finding nothing but pages filled with words
that confused your thoughts as you split in two
You chose a coat of freedom lined with despair
to be worn in an empty house on an empty lot,
praying
Were you heard, when you cried yourself to sleep
after water and apples?
Growing thinner each gray day,
when you talked to your mind as it performed a play
You abandoned yourself as you did a life you gave birth
Where was the lifeline you could hold,
to free yourself from the world sinking around you?
They fed you medication for a crippled soul
and forgot to listen as you screamed
"there's nothing wrong"
while losing your grip on the last cliff of reality
above the valley of the unknown
A life filled with confusion waiting to be heard
No one heard..no one came..no prayer answered
only death
and the lonely pages of scribbled script
that quietly diminished with the hollow feeling
that you should have been saved
by someone

contest God Knows Where I Am
YOU ARE THE PAPER AND I AM THE PEN
Hi Jenn, glad you are writing a poem today,
And ecstatic you are drafting it in a
Happy and mostly pink notebook,
Which of course is me,
What on earth was it that took
You so long, to do this sensible thing,
You have thrown hundreds of sheets away
Screwed them up, and thrown in your bin,
To never see another dawn, or beautiful day.
Lock down WOW, I’m thrilled we must stay at home,
Will the virus lessen, because all will less roam?
Well “Pinkie Book” I couldn’t resist you
You looked so cute and extremely cheeky,
Your pages trimmed with freaky,
Skulls and ghosts, I really wanted this book
And since we have established you talk
Maybe you can go back in time
And find the scribbles that were discarded
That had no meaning, disregarded.
We have unlocked a mystery so profound
From Centuries ago, we will see it through
When this dreadful, horrible virus.
Is no longer a crisis!
As each of the flowers painted on the four
Corners of the paper nod their heads demurely
Makes me feel guilty if my pen is full of fury!
Let’s make a poem together said the pretty note-book.
With pleasure I replied!
There once was some pink paper, and a pen
Who were both owned by a poet called Jenn
She discovered the pink paper could speak,
This for Jenn was such a surprising treat,
Jenn, muse, talking pink pad destined to craft a gem!
Our President Cyril Ramaphosa addressed the nation last night,
The nation goes into lockdown by midnight Thursday night
With the full strength of the law and its might
Allowed a grocery store or get medication
Be quick and back with extreme trepidation
Unabiding Citizens army and police involved in this plight
Thank you dear Pinkie book, you really are so clever,
Stay here as long as you like, you are now a family member!
She wakes up in a padded room
in an asylum on a hill.
A half a mile from civilization,
spirits loom with an ominous chill.
A skilled
professional in a white cape,
draped,
over casual attire.
enters the room.
A well mannered man, smooth
endearing,
compassionate,
or so he seemed to be.
in this chemically induced
dream.
Screams,
trapped in her mind.
the silent kind.
he leans over her mid-section
it is medication time.
Twisting, fighting
to escape her own mind.
Where is that man in the red bow tie?
She lays alone, drugged,
dull,
a lifeless look in her eye.
slightly crying.
Where am I?
Still fighting.
Blurred vision , diminishes.
she walks with a lean.
Headaches, a redundant punishment.
No longer looming in this dream.
To be continued!!!

Name withheld until contest is over
My heart was shattered last Wednesday
It has been a week
How DARE time march on
without my sweet boy?
I still occasionally forget to breath
and feel like I am underwater
until my body automatically grabs
a huge cleansing breath
I am totally lost at times,
I foget to eat, I forget to grab
the medication I picked up and paid for,
yet left at the pharmacy
If people weren't reaching out and
soothing my bleeding heart with
the love of friendship and family,
I wouldn't still be here
But I have to stay strong, because
I have a fight to fight when I recover
a little. There has to be better care
for mental illness and suicidal ideation
I will sound the battle call when I can
remember how to be a human again
and I would love company along
that journey!
BILOCATION
This is a happenstance of early last Century . An Indian saint was renowned
to have power of bilocation . An European was waiting for his wife to visit
India . That time only transport available was ship. The husband was
worried not getting any news and decided to meet the saint.
is it possible
simultaneous presence
in different place ?
The saint closed his eyes and went on medication for few minutes . Then he
assured the husband that his wife is completely safe and will reach India
shortly. Just now he had personally met her and also talked.
that's bilocation !
beyond space time dimension
on self projection.
The wife reached safely and the grateful husband went to meet the saint to pay reverence , accompanied by his wife. The wife immediately acknowledged that the saint had met her in the ship and talked to her.
