In past Decembers, when my cards
Were purchased, sealed and stamped,
I wrote so many that, for sure,
My fingers burned and cramped.
I mailed them out and knew I’d get
As many in return;
It wasn’t always tit for tat,
But that was no concern.
Yet lately, though, the same routine –
My cards stacked up and inked,
Will yield far fewer back to me –
They’re practically extinct.
Perhaps when e-cards made the scene,
The need for real ones ended;
Or possibly, this busy life
Has left me more un-friended.
But either way, I mailed a lot
And so far, got just five.
It seems that this tradition
May be one that won’t survive.
My holiday is Chanukah.
It’s earlier this year;
So maybe as December fades,
More greetings will appear.
This could well be an omen, though.
Of course, I’m just supposing –
But here’s more proof the postal service
Likely will be closing!
They did the same thing to my mother, Eleanor May Dubarry, no provider including Medicare wanted to pay her final medical expenses,
including transportation to and from the Everett's Providence Hospital.
It seems they really wanted either her or me to pay them instead.
But they never did admit to it. After she died, my middle brother Dale, made copies of her death certificate and I mailed them to all the involved parties. Because I did not have Power of Attorney, they really could not hold me accountable. Cathy Mutschuler, DSHS kept telling us, my mom did not have to pay!
There have been other instances. An elders couple in Ferndale, Washington, could not afford to pay for their prescriptions. They had their own final solution. They decided, not Almighty God, when they had the right to die. I am sure many tears were cried and many hearts were broken in to. How many times tragic scenarios like this happen? Even the news media probably does not even know.
What is a woman to do when her medical provider, United Health care does not honor her claim? Her other provider also will not pay her medical bills. She has been to see Governor Jay Inslee and our federal representatives. They promised her they would help, but no affirmative action was taken. And now she is being hounded by bill collectors demanding payment.
Both of us are believers in Jesus Christ. I told her to contact problem solvers, but to pray about it first. Yes, I am a Democrat, who is also a Christian! I am a supporter of our Governor and Federal Representative and Senator. I honestly believe they intended to help her. But failed to do so. This is why the title of this narrative poem is entitled the Medical provider runaround. And yes I am on United Health Care and they have good go me. Delloney will help me apply for Medicare before I turn 65 October 4th of this year.
Share your own stories in your own words and in your own ways. And always remember to pray! I pray to Jesus Christ. And this poem is my prayer for help and guidance.
Love as always,
Love in Christ Jesus!

A Tongue firmly in cheek poem based on soup poetry contests
I can only agree with your sentiment Mister Lawless
Although I enter a few select contests nevertheless!
I know you’re discerning, and don’t show any bias
Yet with some sponsors wins they clearly deny us!
Some claim they judge blind, do they take us for fools
Buddies given top spots, they don’t follow their rules!
Regarding ‘no names’ once a sponsor soup mailed me
Saying ‘I could do better’ so my poem wasn’t top three!
I see crass decisions, syllable counts that are very wrong
A typo and poor rhyming, yet they still win a blinking gong!
What irks me is rhyming forms that have errors in the rhyme
Yet the sponsor declares the winning poem was totally sublime!
I take the risk with this contest, knowing I may get an n/a
If it doesn’t place I’ll put it in a ‘screwed’ contest one day!
For those who aren’t aware n/a stands for ‘not a chance’
Some even pull their losing poem in that circumstance!
I use contests to boost my creativity, I don’t enter every one
as it’s not the Nobel Poetry Prize when all is said and done!
I don’t need to enter every stinking poetry soup contest
Knowing many wins are fixed and MY poem was the best!
Contests! We don’t need no stinking contests

(This is a fictional poem)
Last week I received a letter that said I won a million dollar sweepstake.
I got so mad that I started to shake.
I know that the postal service can be slow.
But this letter was mailed to me twenty years ago.
I went to the post office to complain about this.
But believe it or not, they said it was good service.
They said that because of the postal service's inefficiency, I was lucky to get the
letter at all.
That pissed me off so I kicked the postmaster in the balls.
But that turned out to be a federal offense.
I was arrested and now I'm facing a lengthy prison sentence.
Now I will rot in jail.
All because of the inefficiency of the mail.

Most of your life I may have missed
But I still remember when we first kissed
The first couple years went really well
We we're on top of the world and all could tell
I would fish while you were fast asleep
Now all we have are those few memories to keep
My heart breaks and my eyes quickly swell
Because instead of you I chose a life of living hell
I think of you often every single day
Wondering if our paths will some time go the same way
We haven't talked or e-mailed in so long
The pain of it all is really heavy and way to strong
Knowing that for me it's more then to late
What to do next I think about and wait
Realizing you owe nothing at all to me
I hope , pray, and live that one day again you I will see
Yet as my life comes closer to an end
You are just getting ready for yours to begin
Love for you I always have felt
At the sight of somethings I would simply melt
Didn't take long and I couldn't live without a little crutch
But I let control my life so very much
For big losses there are only a few
That could only be grandpa and all the years lost from you
Maybe my approach will never get through
Still I sit here tear running down my cheek
Because I am a new person no longer weak
Now I ramble on with so much to say
But most of all I Love and Miss you every single day!
The tears I fight and don't want anyone to see
This pain I can not blame on anyone but me!

Good luck
Are you happy today? I hope that you are.
If you are not then I will wish upon a shooting star
And throw your three coins into the fountain.
I wish you good luck
And if you are all out of luck, then I will wish for you to be in.
If you are in need of love, then please have all of mine.
If you are worried about money,
Then I hope you can find a way to put your mind at ease.
I want you to be peaceful and happy
And if you have something you want to find,
Then I am crossing my fingers and hoping you do find all these things;
I hope you do become all that which you want to be.
With this rabbit’s foot, I am sending you my good luck.
Best wishes;
Maybe you will find what you need, if you take another look.
I would give you the world, if I only could.
I have e-mailed you a letter and it is full of love.
I have told them of your story;
I have told them that you are good.
I will continue to tell everybody how much you mean to me,
If there was only enough time and a way that I could,
I would do anything to help you find your way to being happy.
I would make all your dreams come true,
If only I could my friend.
I would do all I could to make you smile at your life,
Because I want you to feel loved,
So to you all my love I will send.

This was my idea originally
then I mailed the idea to Mad TV.
I didn't write the script.
Mad TV did,
but I first noticed the similarity
and S O B Mad TV
never gave any credit to me,
but what do I care. I still think it's funny.

David Berkowitz was tried and convicted as the Son of Sam killer.
He was your average discarded individual suffering with schizophrenia.
Davey & Goliath was an early morning religious show of claymation
promoting morals of a very religious connotation.
Davey was a boy and Goliath his wise dog and friend.
Both would speak to each other quite often
and the show would generally have the same ending.
Goliath teaching Davey a moral, religious lesson.
David Berkowitz also spoke to a dog too.
The dog supposedly told David Berkowitz what to do,
instructing him when exactly to pull the trigger
and continue the havoc of the 44 caliber killer.
So both spoke to and also listened to a dog
and both were named Dave so then I thought
wouldn't it be an ultimate laugh out loud riot
to combine both stories to clamation titled Son of Goliath.

A shade of yesterday resigns.
As an ancient star never aligns.
To shine beyond the path it's given.
And let light in when it's forgiven.
A cosmic trail of never ending.
Lost in the mail forever sending.
An unopened message of love.
That only comes from up above.
Return to sender ever ender.
To never know a warmth so tender.
Compassion's not addressed to some.
A mailed letter that did not come.
Forgiveness lives inside forgivers.
For some, it's cirrhosis of the liver.
Till death do part straight from the heart.
For some, they just can't seem to start.
An endless longing for tomorrow.
To pay for yesterday's we borrow.
In hopes all of our dreams come true.
Before our time on earth is through.
