Premium Member When Evaluating Myself

When evaluating myself
The inclination is to pose
In best light, of course;
You know what I mean-
Shifting in the mirror
Just right; Hum! Which is
My best side today?
And if worse comes to worse,
There is always Photoshop;
The full version
Often needed
In my
Organic case....

How on earth
Did we ever image
Without computers?

I mean, total freedom!
The option to go anywhere--
Be anyone or anything;
Or dissolve
To password obscurity;
My hard-drive-soul
With trillions of bytes
Left, to covet or waste--
Magnetism sunken
To new attractive lows;
Still-light
Only negative
Charges--

Here, voices surface:

Portraits remaining deeply
Obscured
For blurred--

Things I wish I could
(Wanting to share)--
At the end of the day

Garbled by the silence
Of Distance Living
(Untouched, print-less walls
Of my electronic gallery)--
Sights and sounds
Only, perhaps, yet
Clearly heard
By angels
And demons
Now sunken
To man-made hollows,
Those fanned
Cooling spaces
Of a Keyboard Society,
Once coveted warmth
Our worse enemy....

Premium Member A Salt Poem

He was a salty old guy, a farmer for years.
He had a tractor, a trailer, a cow with big ears.
His wife was the salt of the earth, a woman with thighs.
That could crush a combine; they had their lows and their highs.

There was salt on the table; on the popcorn too.
Which they had nightly, watching TV in the dark, a blue hue.
They rose rather early, five o’clock was too late.
Four o’clock was much better for the cow’s full teat state.

They produced corn in their field every other year or two.
Got government subsidies some years to not do what they do.
He was a salty old guy with a family farm he’d inherited.
His wife was one of those red-headed girls down from village of Merrited.

They had six sons and four daughters, for it was the forties you see.
When the dustbowl was happening, and there was scarcity.
On their table they always had potatoes, meat and corn with salt.
Once or twice a year they’d take the kids into town for a chocolate malt.

The kids all wanted to grow up and be farmers too.
Some did of course, but there was only enough land for a few.
Some became teachers, and some became other stuff.
But salt was a staple for all of them, sure enough.

Ginger Shots

Today of all days I am dividing my tears into sections,

With each moment, with each tear drop and snuffle I makes

The paper tissues will always thread,

crumbling signs some mishaps in life

 surely, cannot be mended;

Yesterday was your birthday,

Today it's my revelation, of life, (my life)

It seems lately, that I have taken a new route,

This road definitely is not paved with gold.

God truly bless heroes; he never fails me yet!

But, for sure I have encountered some obstacles,

Empathy, or just plain stupidity,

I am an empath, I never thought I was this kind of person

As we grow older, it's so true that we see life in a different setting

the lows, the in-between and the high moments.

My so intensity, emotions, as they rise,

and as they drop to low frustrations tolerance, I see red

Today, I need my ginger shots: who cares if it is unhealthy?

Today of all days I am dividing my tears into sections,

With each moment, with each tear drop and snuffle I makes

The paper tissues will always thread, crumbling signs of

some mishaps in life that surely cannot be mended.

Does anybody care about the upcoming presidential election this year?

Premium Member You, Me and Jesus C

He is with you in your emotional lows
He is with you in the ebbs and flows
He is with you in each ecstatic spike
He is with each nation and person alike
He is with you in the operating room
He is with you during the morning commute
He is with you in the sleepless nights
He is with you climbing those heights
He is with you in the doctor’s waiting room
He is with us when we wait on Him
He leads us to Mt. Zion (away from Mt. Bashan)
Receive the invitation, and repent while you still can
He is with you in the funeral home
He promised that we don’t mourn as those with no hope
He is with you in the grocery store
(He’s both knocking and is The Door)
He is with you on the bus and the train
       (Blessing all with His rain)
He is with you when you go out and return again
He turns white, what was a crimson stain
He is with you in sadness and grief
He is with you during incarceration and release
He is for you, He is on your side
(They pierced His heart through His side)
He is with you when you’re afraid or alone
(He is found in the pages of The Holy Tome)
He’s the church’s Head
He’s blessed the marriage bed
(And those of that certain slew
He blesses singleness too)
He is with you during every breath
Even when you contemplate an imminent death
He has answers when it’s why, why why?
He came to serve and to lay down His life
He also had that question while on the cross
He’s the Refiner, He brings out our dross
The Father has given, and none will be lost
       (as those who count loss)
He accepts all who call on His name
(From Special Revelation or Natural Revelation the same)
He's the path to eternity
He saves for certainty
He rules the earth below from His perch on High
He sees all that can be seen with His bird’s eye
He looks down on the inhabitants thereof
His eyes are too pure, His law is His love
He considers all sighs and plea’s
He accepts the prayers from those on their knees
(or a heart that is bowed metaphorically)
He knows our frustrations, He knows anxiety
He knows you and me, He is Jesus C.

“Forget injuries,
         never forget kindnesses.”
                             _by Confucius

Life stalls and whirls,
so full of balances;
with rhythmic tides,
it has an ebb and flow.
As they turn full,
all relish in the bliss;
conversely,
most are sad when tides run low.

Confluence helps
to balance changing tides:
while traveling on waves
of those most high-
then resting thoughts
when we are bound to lows;
remembering each peak
that helped us fly.

Most are sad when tides run low;
conversely,
all relish in the bliss
as they turn full.
It has an ebb and flow
with rhythmic tides;
so full of balances-
life stalls and whirls.

Premium Member Time

In the river of eternity, Time flows,
Moments, highs and lows.
It dances with the stars, in cosmic rhyme,
A never-ending, mystic paradigm.

It whispers in the wind, a fleeting breath,
A silent witness to life and death.
It weaves through history, a tangled thread,
A silent symphony, from birth to death.

It marches on, relentless and unkind,
Leaving memories, like footprints behind.
It's a cruel master, yet a gentle friend,
Guiding us towards our own journey's end.

Cherish each moment, embrace the now,
For Time is a gift, a sacred vow.
Let it shape you, mold you, set you free,
For in the end, it's all we'll ever be.

For a Certain Lady Friend

conversations like solutions to storms
reconnection like protection from swarms
though rare are your replies,
i cherish even the lowest lows of your highest highs
so amazing to be blessed with a unique bond of friendship such as yours
in life, it is where a man and a woman is Meant To Be
it will not always be sex and love that will make you be happy and free
sometimes it's the words and the occasional listening ear
that will ease the painful walk of your continuous forward movement and alleviate some, if not all fear
if i had a chance to meet you all over again that way that i did,
i would not change a thing even if inevitable changes flipped the world' s lid
all medicine is not bitter to the tongue
some medicine is soothing and sweet and inspire smiles that help overcome
with this, i say thank you, beautiful woman....precious friend
no matter how rare our connection, the eye of my loyalty is to the very end....

Written: June 16, 2023

In this life's journey, where paths intertwine,
We find solace and joy in friends so divine.
Through laughter and tears, they lift our spirits high.
Above mere companions, their love makes us fly.

As the air we breathe, friends are the breath of life.
With each beat of our hearts, they ease the strife.
In their presence, we find solace and peace.
Their love and support will never cease.

They gratify our souls with their gentle ways.
Guiding us through life's maze.
Their words of solace, are precious advice,
Nurture us navigate through the lows and highs.

In times of darkness, they bestow light.
With their friendship, everything feels right.

Premium Member Turbulence

We cannot calm the turbulence in the open sky.
We must bear with its disharmony as it passes us by ~Quote by poet

Tempestuous moods erupt within, a tumultuous severe agitation
Brings forth undulating vibrations, exploding with a pounding pulsation
Retributions unholy, big blue-sky echoes with conflicting resound
When the balefully coarse maligning words mercilessly expound
Somedays gliding my way high through a stream of consciousness
Taken back by the waves soaring low to a destiny that seems endless
My soul, wrenched and wretched, lets loose from my clutching mind
Over the ocean, tempest-tossed above knotty seas less than kind
Excuse if you will my slashing unabiding, dismissive demeanor
Never shall I find where tides gently flow, and grass that is greener
Clashing and clawing through dark gathering clouds are my fate
Exit you my friend from my world and my presence before it’s too late
