Forged in the fires of tribulation.
Struggling through Hell's retaliation.
Hope is strained beyond belief.
All I seek is solace and relief.
Betrayal is the lonely cry of the outcast.
I strained so hard for the pain not to last.
I embrace my tortured, crying soul.
Seeking to calm its deep, mournful woe.
Chains of my burdens, I drag along.
As my soul yearns for a spring song.
Now, shadows swirl as reality bends.
The nightmare of this torture ends.
Reality dissolves as twilight breaks.
Bringing forth a new dawn in its wake.
For our Father gifted us his son’s light.
To bring in his Power of Love and Life.
The burdens are gone that have shackled me.
Going through Psalm 23, I am refined and free.
There is a party of hate and you are invited
If fact it’s an open invitation
But everyone seems to leaving
Everyone that is tired of hate and death.
The party of hate meanwhile
Revels in the death of others
The death of their own
And the death of those to come.
It makes up policies like soft on crime
And defund the police
Which only leads to more death
Especially of children and minorities,
But that is what the party wants
To further its goal of systemic victimhood.
These are modern day sacrifices
To the gods of change
Made with hate in their heart
But fear in their mind,
Fear that they may be wrong,
May have it all wrong
That hate and death is better than love and life.
Of course they are wrong
And they know this
Because as long as they are alive
There is still a seed of love in their heart.

Humans can know so little,
we can barely hold two things inside,
i choose love and life,
with learning all the time,
always picking up the little things,
i always leave behind.
Such fragile little things we are,
physically, emotionally and spiritually,
just think how easily your bones break,
or how easily another your faith take.
But love, we can be mighty in that,
if we can avoid prides evil trap.
I love to search i love to wonder,
the little things i stare and ponder,
the last butterfly of autumn landed on my arm,
and for ten minutes with its beauty,
it span a yarn.
Beauty is found everywhere!
Just open your eyes and see awe!
The Evolution of Love
by Michael R. Burch
Love among the infinitesimal
flotillas of amoebas is a dance
of transient appendages, wild sails
that gather in warm brine and then express
one headstream as two small, divergent wakes.
Minuscule voyage, love! Upon false feet,
the pseudopods of uprightness, we creep
toward self-immolation: two nee one.
We cannot photosynthesize the sun,
and so we love in darkness, till we come
at last to understand: man’s spineless heart
is alien to any land. We part
to single cells; we rise on buoyant tears,
amoeba-light, to breathe new atmospheres ...
and still we sink.
The night is full of stars
we cannot grasp, though all the World is ours.
Have we such cells within us, bent on love
to ever-changingness, so that to part
is not to be the same, or even one?
Is love our evolution, or a scream
against the thought of separateness: a cry
of strangled recognition? Love, or die,
or love and die a little. Hopeful death!
Come scale these cliffs, lie changing, share this breath.

and so you dust the book that's me
right off the shelf called LOVERS
You have found the others not to
be as enthrallingly intense
caressing the gilded pages,
you take a moment to admire me
through the layer of dust
with eager fingers you try to pry my cover
I will not let you open me again
those lines of love and rhymes of passion
encrypted with your name
will no longer be available to be read
consider this book, archaic
Put me back on the shelf
for I'd rather gather dust
then be poured over
by your careless fingers...
fingers that have traced other lines
eyes that have viewed other plots than mine
Leave me alone
for my mysteries were beyond your understanding
a book not for the novice in love
but for the mature
the secure
read the other volumes
more slender than mine
less complicated
more frivolous
entertaining
devoid of depth of meaning
devoid of passionate climaxes
and intricate subplots
Come back to me
when you hold me as a sacred volume
of love and life
the only sacred writ to fit your needs
then I will open my covers
and let you devour
the secrets of my essence
the mysteries of your universe
you will need no other book
to live by
to learn by
to love by
except this unabridged volume
of poetry
that is
me.

Needed Love
A walker life asks the life, where is my life?
You have no life, you are destroyed, answers life
Walker can not feel love, outcast life, trapped heart
Love was a blurred desire, tears on the window glass
He needed love, poor guy, no money, stay dead life
No money, no honey, says the American saying; Dusty life
I am hopeless, created by foggy psychological monsters
The rats of the soul are my executioner, my blood’s drinker
I needed the love, and hope from my imagined desire
Diamond lady, my dream will never be realized
Living a past vision in my life, this lady loved too far
Oh, a still beating broken heart believes his lost dreamy life
Heavy sigh, weighted breathing, my heart is hammers kind
Remembering the guy who lost love and life, frozen life
Needed Love
Remembered Love
Dropped Desire
Misty Lady
Stopped heart
Mine
Goodbye…
… Life
Pick up your glass, my dear friends
Pour some little red wine
Toast with me, my dear friends
Let's celebrate and cheer to love and life.
Cheers to our undying love,
To the dream that made our love come true
Cheers to the time we've been together, to the distance afar, that will bring us back near again, and to the day we will meet again
Cheers to the lady who brought me love and made my eyes open to love and to be loved
To the nature that binds us together,
To the day we met, that's an unforgettable moment!
Cheers to the love burns that which i see never to die.
Cheers to more laughter and smiles
Cheers to more life!
I see you sitting there with her
Acting the part you've been assigned
A nice little kingdom you've built
With the acceptable "values" you've designed
Something is awry, doesn't match
You're so handsome, she's average, at best
Like a decent treasure box
Just enough for what you're willing to invest
There you sit, alone, with him
What is that running between your eyes
Sparks of interest...a secret
Both of you must carefully devise
He's fighting back tears
Begging you to come along, decide
Your little kingdom, in exchange
For a beautiful, bumpy ride
It's over, just like that
The moment is gone and you fully know
Your heart is divided
Between the one you love and life of lies your committed to grow
Love always requires a sacrifce
You must speak in a very clear voice
"I want love no matter how it comes"
It's obvious....secret silence is your self-serving choice

Note: So many claim love, but the only one they love is the secret, and even then, only as long as it serves self. Love requires complete investment and everything else is valueless in its presence.
To my most Beloved, Lenore: This is Not really Good-Bye.
You are my Heart, Forever More: The salty TEARS, I Cry.
I’ll put you in a Golden Shrine, Deep inside my Heart.
Keeping the Vow I made to You: We shall Never part.
LENORE; your poetry is still with Me, Deep within my Mind.
I found another Poetess, like you Her eyes are Green.
After reading all Her poems; Long lost Feelings I did find.
I envision what SHE looks like, though I have Never Seen.
I read HER works and my Heart starts beating, BEATING FAST.
HER words of LOVE and LIFE;I heard, are words from a Distant PAST.
LENORE: YOU know I’ll love YOU until my Dying Day.
But now I found Another: I will slowly move Away.
I’m moving into Happiness; It’s there I want to Stay.
Until Our souls entwine Again, Upon the Judgment DAY.

Long overdue, been very remiss
It now completes the loop
Joined a little over a year ago
Best way to meet great people
With a similar lust for love and life
Feels like it should be illegal
Providing more than just our share
Of joy and lasting friendships
Allows us all to express ourselves
Although sometimes eccentric
Poetry Soup is the cat's meow
Addictive? You had better believe it
From now until my dying day
To leave, I couldn't conceive of it
