I WOKE UP THIS MORNING
TO A KNOCK ON THE DOOR.
I SAT UP IN BED.
PUT MY FEET ON THE FLOOR.
I LOOKED OUT THE WINDOW.
GUESS WHAT I SAW?
ALL SIGNS SAYING
IT'S THE LAST DAY OF FALL.
I LOOKED THROUGH THE PEEP HOLE
WHO DID I SEE?
OLD MAN WINTER.
JUST SMILING AT ME.
WINTER SHOWS UP
AT TIMES BY SURPRISE.
EXCEPT OR REJECT
YOU JUST CAN'T DENY.
I THOUGHT I WAS READY
FOR WINTERS SURPRISE.
SO I OPENED THE DOOR
AND I OPENED IT WIDE
LETTING ME KNOW
HE'S WELL AND ALIVE.
WITH FROSTY BREATH
AND SNOWFLAKES IN EYES
WITH DROPPING TEMPS
AND FALLING SNOW.
AND FROM THE NORTH
A COLD WIND BLOWS.
A WIZARD OF MAYHEM.
OLD MAN WINTER.
CHILLED ME OUT
WITH A WINTERS BLIZZARD.

Fire for fire
Light up my fire
Let's play truly from the heart
You know how amazing it is
When we jam together with happiness
So keep the fire burning
We can't do better with out our souls alive
We can't touch the broken heart
With a sad life
So keep the fire burning
Till the end of time
Fire for fire
Love for love
Which ever way
Keep living
Love for love
What is love
Just let the world know
Show it with care
Live it with the true reality of humanity
Advertise it like is your last day on earth
Teach it like there is no tomorrow
Sing about it like is your last song on earth
Do it with your heart
Confirm it with your soul
And tell me
How life can be a heaven
If we can truly share
Love for love
Fire for fire
Love for love
Which ever way
Keep living
Millions of decades ago,
ancient humankind had one purpose in life:
to find prey
every day,
a stomach that stayed full
until the next breath,
until the last breath.
Ideas stormed,
things evolved,
brains grew creative,
and eventually, we were called the smartest species on Earth.
Here we are, humans of today’s bin,
seeing the air around us
and wondering:
is this how it has always been?
This very planet once had souls whose purpose was big, yet small.
"Laughter, smiles — that's all we want."
However, today's baby is born with a paper and pen.
They start writing down desires, one after another, until the last day.
And boom — the list has already crossed a thousand before the age of ten.
From one corner of the world come screams for money and hymns,
while from another come cries for love.
This world is now full of deafening screams.
People are becoming breathless, chasing empty dreams.
A smile, evoked by ninety-nine reasons,
vanishes because of one statement.
The heart is weak,
the brain dominates.
It's the new normal.
The 8 billion pockets are getting heavy,
but are we ready?
Jock Gray, Richard, Old Allan, and others told me this over the years but I never felt worthy to tell it for them, not even really now but time is passing - I hope those who were there understand - I hope I have not betrayed their trust or their memory.
I’ve been on these beaches before he said
Left my blood and sweat in the sand
Fought and clawed very inch of the way
From the sea right up to the land
And all the time the screeching pounding
Battering smashing deadly hurting noise
Inextricably mixed with the screeching sobbing
Moaning of wounded and dying boys
I only thought of my survival
Never thought of my living
Beyond that very second
That second I was living
Held no thought for any others
Silently praying for just me
Not wanting life to end
By that moaning cold green sea
Somehow I survived my arrival
In that alien foreign land
On that last day of my boyhood
That first day of being a man.
That longest longest day
That I ever was to live
And now I’m back again
With nothing now to give
Since then I’ve stood erect
Looked every man in the eye
For I lived my vision of hell
And managed not to die
For decades living with the guilt
Of not dying with my friends
But standing in this place
Somehow brings that to an end
I am here again
I have faced my fears
Have finally shed
My healing tears
For the rest I can be at peace
Starting now here on this beach
We are just here for a little while,
why not laugh, jump and smile.
All day planning about the future,
who knows, maybe we'll die sooner.
Are you sure there's a tomorrow,
what if this is the last day of all the sorrow.
Maybe your time on earth finishes today,
maybe tomorrow you won't exist and will go away.
Your pre-planned life till 80 would be a waste.
All the dishes untouched that you wanted to taste.
'Gone too soon' written near your coffin,
pondering from above, 'my life didn't even begin'.
Always waited for tomorrow.
Now wishing for just one day to borrow.
Thinking, I would have done all the things I loved,
wouldn't have wasted energy on those who judged.
Would kiss my parents and my partner,
for in front of them I was never a stranger.
They knew me inside and out, carried me on their shoulders throughout.
Never made me feel alone in any situation,
to make me achieve my goals, they had more determination.
How can I leave them alone now,
me going miles away, you think they'll allow?
Wanted to be my parents' support,
for them I always wanted to create a fort.
Wanted to be my partner's strength,
didn't even reach half a life span's length.
Didn't live a memorable life, maybe I was too focused to survive.
There's no tomorrow,
now I very well know.
Please give me just 24 hours this time, and in that time I'll surely live a lifetime.

Towards Home-Sweet-Home
September last day
While bus on delay
Road's bit so rocky
Blurred air was dusty
Sun has just set
On bus “Marienelle”
Beside window sill
On Sigma somewhere?
A highschool near there
Dumarao coming

Papers to Ma'am Bing
Bought books, inks, CDs
Went to Ma'am Gomez
Somehow busy day.

Honey,I'm home...
I whisper in my mind.
Too long I've been afar,
So long I lost his arms.
Honey, I'm home...
Nobody replies,
The home seems new,
No one hears my sound.
I see my children playing around.
Their voices are music to my heart.
I sit in our sofa,
watch the people around.
They didn't even notice,
They're busy roaming,
things I didn't mind.
I walk along to our garden.
I see a man wearing white.
"I know him! "I sigh.
He's holding a picture on his hand.
I call him,"Honey! I'm home."
I shout aloud...
He's so focus,
I saw him cry.
Tears are falling from his eyes.
I hold his shoulder,
kiss him on eyes.
Hold his hands,
He did not reply.
I hear him whisper,
"Honey! I'm home...
Why you didn't wait me,
Please open your eyes.
Happy anniversary,'hon!
I'm home now...
Please don't die!"
Scene I still recall,
the last day I closed my eyes.

Job indeed was a true man of God
one who always sought God to please
in his early years lost all he had
but kept his integrity always on his knees
Turmoil entered his mind later
but found good advice hard to find
all his advisers were no benefit
for indeed showed an unloving mind
Satan attacked him like no other had
having God's permission to do all but kill
in this turmoil Job couldn't understand
for God's ways mysterious causing ill
But Job knew man as sinful
still he hoped in the eternal one
for one day God would indeed judge
putting all things right His will be done
Job knew truly his redeemer did live
for he indeed would stand on the last day
his miserable comforters would be gone
but he will clearly see God that he may
In his latter days Job was blessed
far more than in all his life
God tried him purifying his very soul
perfecting his servant by divine knife
Life is a gift
Given freely without a price tag
and will be taken back freely of its expire date
So why waste dwelling on the past
When we know our time is unpredictable
Why worry about what tomorrow may be
When all we really know is TODAY and NOW
Why not simply enjoy living the moment...
Because-
Life is short
Time is fast
So let yesterday be gone
Live today as if it's your last day
and love to the max...
Afraid not to explore beyond your self comfort
Life is an adventure
So dare it
Respect it
Love it and
Live it to its fullest...
It's a blessing to wake up each morning
So be grateful
Be humble
Fill your heart with love
And live happily ever after...Amen!

look at me
water shoes on
beach chair buried in the sand
feeling like an overtly energetic six year old again
acting all shy as she grabs my hand as the water freezes our feet unexpectedly
remembering the loneliness
cable off
vhs on
same movie as the last four days
wondering how i got there
not caring about freeing myself
here i am
new swim trunks on
fast food gut rumbling in continuous anticipation
staring in awe at the ocean like she is a celebrity
acting even more shy as she lifts my chin up and brushes her lips against mine
remembering the darkness in the lights
electricity off
heavy blanket consuming me
1988 walkman playing 60s reggae sounds....perfectly blinding me
mental starvation for immediate escape
verbal starvation for immediate escape
wondering when the electricity man was gonna come and turn the electricity back on
imagining a gun and a few bullets....to shoot the dream i am suffering dead
wait a minute
i am totally on vacation
got me a beautiful blessing of a travelling partner....thick in all the right places
on the next to last day....still in complete disbelief that i am actually here
acting yet even more shy as she smiles at me with a look of sincere affection....as she rubs somewhere....she considers absolute, natural fun
