There are a lot of things going on in our world right now that are creating the opposite effect
The cost of living, political unrest, and crazy weather are some of the main suspects
Happiness for me is spending time with family and friends
Listening to my favorite songs is always a positive trend
The best way to prevail in this world is to look after yourself and try to stay in shape
A vacation in winter to a tropical place is a welcome escape
Everybody has something that tends to make them very happy
Think of what you did to turn your thoughts around when you were feeling crappy
Even if it proves to be overcast and windy outside, pull yourself out of your chair and go for a walk, what do you say
Endorphins kick in sending waves of happiness your way
The warmth of the sun tends to bring a smile to most people's faces
Get out and enjoy nature and visit some interesting places
Wee Willie Winkie is a wayward child who's run amok.
He goes galivanting through town with his friend, Chuck
Sneaking out through the window almost every night
He's the leader of a local gang that rumbles for a fight
Willie's not the studious kind. He's flunking out of school
Skipping class, hiding out in the john, thinking he's cool
Chasing cats with baseball bats; that little dude is rude
He's more than a wee bit nasty and needs a new attitude
His poor mother doesn't know what to do with the boy
She sent him to stay with his dad, somewhere in Illinois
But he wound up in juvi and his dad wouldn't bail him out
All he wanted to give Willie was a fist packed with clout
The cops picked him up for threatening puppies with a stick
Willie laughed when his mother cried. Man, that kid is sick.
Someone suggested she should just put him up for adoption
But she just shook her head and said, "That's not an option!"
He spent a week grounded and said it was like school detention
What he needs is a kick in the butt as a means of intervention
Willie was warned that if he got into trouble one more time
He'd never have recess again, taken away would be his playtime
For a child who's eight years old, he never does what he's told
Ignores adult supervision and yells, "I will not be controlled!"
What does the future hold for delinquent, Wee Willie Winkie
Nothing good, that's for sure if he continues to be so stinky
Often I think of him
his sweet quick smile
bright blue eyes
smooth clear skin
I dream of him water skiing
playing ball
hockey with friends
so young and strong
sometimes he is reaching for me
for a goodby hug which hurts the most
because he never did say goodby
the night he died
it was so sudden there was no time
to really know what was happening
my last embrace of shock and pain
so sharp it could have been a knife
piercing my very soul
a vicious kick in the stomach
an agony like no other
none even close since
my boy, my child
my heart ripped out ragged and torn
throbbing in wait of relief
from a constant nightmare
Inspired by and dedicated to
Sara Kendrick and her poem "Chicken"
I once had a chicken
Came out of his egg kick-in'
He was the strangest thing , I've ever seen
This chicken had two necks but he only had one head
I'm guess-in' that's why he was so mean
I wasn't 'till much later
That a Chef asked the waiter
To go buy some chickens, at my farm
So I told him, as far as chickens
HE, should do the pick-in'
So he grabbed-up the fryer, in his arms
Although it was some trouble
He saw his profits double
Figure-in' to buy one and get one free
The Chef was really please
As he took that bird with ease
Then turned-up the stove a few degrees
He gave the bird a whack,
And there was a sudden thwack
As that little fryer's head, hit the floor
He thought he had struck gold
When he started to unfold
Seeing that the bird, had offered more
Two gizzards and three livers
Is what this bird delivered
And the Chef thought this made a darn good start
But further on inspection
There was a sad detection
The poor little Fryer had no heart
So I've learned, Not to be mean
Or you'll end up a cuisine
So, be nice and kind from the very start
Even if you're bless,
Having more than the all rest
Don't be a little Fryer with no heart
Surprise me with a compliment
When I’m feeling down
Surprise me with a funny joke
When you see me wear a frown
Surprise me with agreement
When I am argumentative
Surprise me with a “thank you” smile
When I’ve nothing left to give
Surprise me with a thumbs up sign
Even though I tried and failed
Surprise me with camaraderie
When all my other friends have bailed
Surprise me with a shoulder rub
After a long, hard day at work
Surprise me with a good kick in the tush
When I am being a real jerk
Surprise me with an in depth look
At one of my stupid poems
Surprise me by being there
When at night I stumble home
Surprise me by simply loving me
Although there is no good reason to at all
Surprise me by catching me
Before I even start to fall
Surprise me in any of these ways
And this I promise you
The surprises that I give right back
Will come in multiples of two
~The Evil Fairy And the Vengeful Leprechaun~
Late at Night while the chickadees go quiver
A fairy of the forest has fastened to her heart
A bog-reed arrow, white wash dipped in flint
She dances yes she dances, in a conical red cap
Tithing the sundown, to a leprechauns demise;
Not a stranger to mischief, she steels his golden pot
She stitches up his wishes, and spikes his felted hat
She glues his silver buckles up his nose in, far remote
She sticks him on a clover, stewing mad n’ boiling hot
By; Mystic Rose
Early Morning, under the fogs rainbow, twisting and twisting his nose
Little does she know, Lepree's a madman with his own games
Sitting and brewing with a grin, he awaits the chemicals to kick in
A price to pay for stealing Lepree's gold, in such a golden way
He yells and cries, "I hope you dance, rapid like the river away!"
Fairies don't exist! Fairies don't exist! -----A quiver in the chest
For we all know when speaking them words, somewhere out there
A fairy dies, ----shillings from his silver tongue he spoke
A million times Lepree cried "Fairy don't exist!" suddenly--she drops;

~A Poet Destroyer Collaboration~
When you aid another and leave a migrant to die in the sea
Then you're no better than a killer, read on to learn why, you'll see
"I'm dying! Save me! Save me!"screams a young lad
You're desperate to help, but you're torn between good and bad
Another voice yells! "Please come help! My child is going to die!"
You know this is bad, your heart does not lie
A young kid covered in blood staggers and faints right in front of you
All the stories you heard, they were true
The child's face turns blue
You don't have time to think and your human instincts kick in
And you do what your heart tells you, rescue
Hours later you've saved all three

(This is a fictional poem)
When we go cruising with your girlfriend, I don't like how you drive.
You always watch her big boobs instead of the road and we're lucky to be alive.
Keep your eyes on the damn road and not on her chest!
The cops keep pulling us over for wreckless driving and putting you under arrest.
You had to pay for a hog you hit last week and now we're going to have to eat a lot
of pork.
At first you refused to pay for the hog and that farmer jabbed you in the nuts with a
pitchfork.
I just learned that you've been risking our lives because of kleenex tissue in a
brassiere.
You just blessed out your girlfriend and she gave you a swift kick in the rear.

McCaffrey, a champion golfer in his own mind
All bluster and bull, you know the kind
Like the fisherman who’s big one’s always got away
He will never change, even at the end of the day
One-day last autumn, maybe at the end of the summer
Anyway, for McCaffrey it turned out to be a bummer
Playing eighteen holes in the championship match
Tried to look good playing off scratch
Everything went smoothly out on the first nine
Holed out the thirty six in thirty nine
Out on the tenth all went to pot
He hit a large Kangaroo with his driving shot
Retrieving the ball was a bit of a disaster
The Roo decided to show him who was the master
Up with his legs, catches McCaffrey off balance, and unsteady
When he should have been aware of the danger, been at the ready
A painful kick in the groin had the golfer down for the count
As the Kangaroo hoped off over a nearby grass, mount
McCaffrey now seething got into deep stress
How he finished eighteen holes is anybody’s guess
In the nineteenth hole, consuming drink like it was going out of fashion
Well oiled at closing time a home he went dashing
A cut across the course, striding out nicely, though a dark night
Tripped and fell into a bunker and went out like a light
The Ladies foursome the next morning, teed off at nine
A bright sunny day, everything fine
Arrived at the tenth, driver in hand had she
Mrs Montgomery walked up to the tee
With a good whack from her right hand, the ball was sent aloft
Came down with her ego, it fell in the bunker sand
A loud scream erupted and all heard around the course
A mouthful of expletives greeted the women as McCaffrey crawled out in full force
Mrs Montgomery as bad tempered as he
Took a swipe with a number nine iron right onto his knee
Swearing and cursing McCaffrey sloped away
Fortunately for him to fight another day
Nursing his ego, his groin and his knee
Arrived home hoping to get sympathy, and a nice cup of tee
But Mrs McCaffrey was waiting, and whack, McCaffrey had another bruise
With her frying pan in hand had no time for any excuse
Not impressed at all at her husbands night out
Her heading still aching, then there was the gout
From all the wine consumed the night before
For the rest of the day McCaffrey was ill, and felt rather sore
One soul’s heaven is another soul’s hell
A silver silent scream from jaded jail
The quiet roar underscores mind unwell
Honeymoon of doom from grace I fell
Never been so alone or far from home
Arranged marriage to a person well known
Riches of gold silver money are shared
But what’s lacking lavender love and care
It’s enough irony to make one weep
I understand the truth I’m lucky you see
He is handsome he doesn’t beat me
Kaleidoscope kisses impregnate me
So I am to be a mother in due time
But I love another and that’s my crime
I hope to escape by loosing my life
Standing on the balcony taking a dive
But then I feel a little kick in my side
I am trapped in this cycle of life I cry
My baby does live so I can not die
Madd and sad I must persevere try
It’s enough to make a soul fall apart
Perhaps the child will soothe my heart
A big job for such a small little baby
It’s enough to make a mother crazy
Never again will my life be my own
My mind is splitting I feel so alone
I look up to see blue fluffy clouds
Somehow I can’t jump it’s wrong now
I must forget I am sad my past life memories
Repent pray for strength and healthy baby
Perhaps the child will be my saving grace
And these maddening thoughts will go away
