Premium Member A Ballerina's Eternal Dream

She remembers dancing in purple, satin toe shoes, in front of stage lights.
Ah, her ballet heart, so joyous, tender and light.

Agility plus ability were her most blessed twin mights.
She lived and breathed ballet delights!

              times then changed........

She follows the dark, but it is still her stage light.
The older she is, the stronger her might.

Some will tag this as "memory"~
A hurtful and most unholy slight!

In a ballerina lives, an eternal, musical dream,
Where she's constantly transforming her reality.

Her hopes, roses and tenderest kisses.
For her loving, handsome, forever ballet king.

First May

From the beginning of May,
I had tried to stay away,
That was how I found another place,
Luckily, it has a piano to occupy me.
Then, the incident of breaking in my property,
Tied me and you to repair it,
That was when we did the project
"Putting lipstick on the pig".
It took 6 weeks to complete.
You were quite sick of doing it,
While I enjoyed being with you without excuses.
You stayed the evenings in my place.
The weather freezed us apart,
Your hands were cold and could not get warm,
Despite the oil column heater was on,
I wanted to share with you, my own heater generator,
But, it would too embarass to both of us.
Then you mentioned guacamole,
Which created another food tasting relationship.
I went shopping, preparing and cooking.
You told me about ajvar,
A very different relish dish,
I was crazy to make it,
You became upset when I used plastic.
Quickly I overcame the issue.
Then, mixed salad and Potato salad came on our menu.
That was the end of our three meals.
I travelled around, to ensure
I was not at your second home,
I was crazy about you but I had to let you go,
Came along the 7th month of lunar calendar,
The ghost, devil and spirit month really set us apart.
You found and enjoyed new project,
While making up excuses,
About not wanting to be part of the dirty system.
All these 6 months, you knew I was on a government scheme.
You were with me as part of my own system only.
It was you, who wanted to end the friendship,
But had to make up hurtful excuses.
It was not your projects stood between us,
It was you who isolated yourself from the real world,
Barricaded yourself away from me.
Never mind B66,
Enjoy whatever and however you want your life to be,
I will survive whatever left of me.
We were like two peas in the same pod,
But unfortunately, we had finished in different pots.
Thank you for being friend with me,
However sweet and short, lovely and painfully it could be.
Goodbye B66.
I know you warned me not to call you BB,
But frankly my dear, I loved it.

Never Give Up Life Gets Better

Subjected to torment and teasing
Isn't very fun or pleasing
Every day becomes a chore
Not to end up on the floor
From being shoved and pushed around
Bruises always being found
Being a human punching bag
Mornings it is hard to drag
Yourself out of the house and be
Because you know what's up ahead
Snide remarks and mental anguish
Why must others act so foolish
Picking on those weak and small
Who just want to stand so tall
Being themselves and really proud
They're different from the in crowd
Not giving up or giving in
Knowing it would be a sin
Staying true and always knowing
True self should be there and showing
Even if its hard to be
Yourself through the insanity
But sometimes grief will get you thinking
You can end this hurtful taunting
With one motion of a blade
You will be at peace and laid
Restfully with no more sorrow
But don't give in because tomorrow
Might be brighter than the last
There'll be no more overcast
Of despair that has been
Keeping you alone and then
You look and start to realize
Other victims want to find
Relief, looking for a friend
Your aloneness finally ends

Death’s Dismissal

I have seen death
masquerading in its many faces,
the fear of those holding numbers,
the agony of those not. Stared into
the dimly fading headlights of the
passing vehicle, slowing as the vision
dimmed, the agony increased.

I have seen death
take the unsuspecting in an instant,
snatch the breath of youth, impose its
ugliness upon an empty future,
string barbed wire upon memory.

I have watched death
peering cowardly from non-existent
shadows, haunting our moments without
care, stealing, in hurtful bits and pieces,
the warmth of life’s slowing breath.

I have touched death
in weakness and denial of my life,
pleaded for release without conviction,
felt the loneliness and terror of submission,
saw the saddened eyes of death’s dismissal,
heard a number called, not mine, but death’s.

Premium Member The Cat's Paw

She stares at me still mindless
          of my wantings, handrubs,
          errant fingers traipsing through
          calico fur.

Again, his mindless looks and
and endless nothingness pours
from its mouth, but seems my
stupid purring soothes this
mindless beast.

Ah, she's purring, a sign of
wanting, at last, I see an
          opportunity to fondle her.

Not again! His outstretched
hurtful hands that molest
me so, I must flee to the
safety of yon couch wanting
for touch.

          No, no, no...ouch!

Ah! I knew these retractables
came handy, need to lick
off his stench from my coat
and do the circle dance, to
soften the sofa just a tad.

          No you don't!

He stands, whilst I arches,
for 'tis a fight to the finish.
Paws don't fail me now.

(He stops, sits--paws down
...Calico and sofa are one.)

Premium Member I'M Suppose To Love

The sound of fighting jolts me from sleep,
alone in the darkness of my room.
And tears wash away fragments of dreams,
as angry screams dominate the gloom.

I hide under my blanket in fear
as anguish rips the love from my heart.
And I pray to God, please make it stop,
but it doesn't, and hope falls apart.

Dad flings empty beer bottles at mom,
hollering that he's nobody's fool!
And I wish he would pass out again,
or mom would back off and let things cool.

Muffled rants follow bouts of crying
as hurtful words erupt into tears.
And loud shouts explode into the night
while I curl up and cover my ears.

Punches start inflecting undo pain,
for as always, push morphs into shove.
And hugging my knees, I wet the bed,
I hate this man; I'm supposed to love.

Premium Member Yes, You'Ve Served Your Time

He's happy in his chair
The window over there
Let's him see the blue of sky
Let's him see the green of field
The quiet in his mind
Let's him hear the birdsong live

He's happy in his chair
He doesn't see you standing there
He doesn't see into your eyes
He's in a place he calls 'crow flies'
Where every morning has soft blue skies
Every crow call soothes his mind

He's happy in his chair
He may spend hours looking at the air
He may follow clouds over the fields
To him what you are is not real
Don't try to apologise
You're not even in his cries
You don't exist in his broken mind

He's happy in his chair
He blocks out the pain of being there
He blocks out the reason why you broke his little mind
When you left him in a field, helpless, alone and in such need.

The baby cries they heard then found
A poor little wretch crying on the ground
The crows around who made unusual sounds
To catch the people walking by, they jumped up and down.

He's happy in his chair
He's happy you're not there
He can't understand why wild animals seemed to care that his mother was not there!
A little baby who's hurtful cries made the crows act to save his life!!

They found your boy looking up to the sky,
All cried out with staring eyes, dumb and mute for years - as cold as ice.
We stop his nightmares with recorded crow cries!

They found your note stating your reasons for why?
You gave birth to this innocent young life!

And yes, you've served your time!

Yes.....you've served your time?

And yes....you apologise but that don't heal his mind!
That don't stop his cries, the loneliness of his life
For that what remedies and reasons can you provide?

I'll stand in front of you
I'll not let you get through
I'll use force if you force me too

You will hear why.........
Reasons you ask, you cry?

The reasons why we all despise?
The fact that you're breathing shows us that God doesn't hear our cries

The reason why I could end your life ............................................................................................
.....................................................................?

You left him there to die.

Blindsided By Foolhardiness

“... betrayal begins with trust.” ~ Phish

Nothing is more hurtful than betrayal--
The traits of Cain, Delilah, Judas, Brutus;
In their darkest hours they all led astray
those they vowed to be loyal to and protect,
spawning events that were calamitous.

Trust—
It appears, there’s none anymore
Not here, not now and never ever was;
It’s an ancient fable, a myth
long tucked away in books
in sermons and scriptures
in mythology and fairytales,
Not a treasure rare and precious,
but a mere figment of our imagination;

Trust is a portal through which
a man can manipulates, lies and betrays,
A chimera of the fantasy world
like a mirage to the desert dwellers
a floating straw to a drowning man
a flickering light at the end of
a tunnel to a desperate soul.

Trust but thyself
and to thyself be true,
Yet indulge not in thine own conceit,
Mistrust no man without just cause
Nor be credulous without proof,
Stay neither far from reason
nor close to folly…
Trust is hard to find,
But when found, don’t let go!

Paradoxes of Desire

The strange caricature reminds me of your odd face,
The twinkling roar clings to your tiny lace.
The way you want to lean on my race,
The sacred passion gives me a new space.

The only path I have seen,
One and only desire you could have been,
One and only proportion you own for the time being,
I am no one else until you see me clearly giving.

The endless life is a paradox of gorgeous wings,
You are no longer out of control for the measured pings.
The unholy genuineness gives me no more rare bliss,
The unknown appetites are the reason for my irregular gist.

It is not common or ordinary anymore,
It is not filled with hate at its core.
It is no longer my salient reason,
No reason can ease my aggressive tension.

Why can I not settle for less?
Why are you not something obvious to bless?
Why don't you know my name until I remind you of the same?
Why can't you see me as nothing more than a dice in this game?

Words

words can hurt words can smart words can tear a world apart.now do not get me
wrong not all words are bad.some words can make you happy not sad.now
some of you might think what i say is not true.but just stop and think how words
have changed you.we are all gods children i believe in my heart.and we all have
to leave this world someday.and stand before god.and on that fateful day choose
your words wisely.or my friend you might here god say the words that you used
on his children on earth.and the out come of that cant be good.so remember my
friends god keeps a chart.and for every bad word we all get a mark.and after so
many marks it breaks gods heart.to watch us slip away.to a hot and evil place.to
spend our eternity.but there is another way.say the words you want to here
yourself to others every day. because god sees good in every one.no mater what
we see .we where all created in his image.so now do you see when you say all
those hurtful words you say your not just saying them to me.so speak your
words from the heart and god will take away a mark and then someday we will all
meet in heaven where threes only good words to say about you me and every
one.and brother i am here to say treating people right and saying kind words.is a
small price to pay for eternity with the ones you love...so watch the words you
say...copyright...2006...by GLEN Pugh..
