February 22 Relationship to God Bible Meditations
Based on Deuteronomy 20-24
Key Verse – Deuteronomy 20:1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY BATTLE CONQUEROR
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
taking my soul to Your saving deliverance
Thank You for besieging me from worldly spoil’s alluring appearance
I then fix my sight to Your inheritance along heavenly entrance
In carrying-out Your commandment, subdued of my arrogance.
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
training my will by Your sin-slaying might
Thank You for building me up against pride’s downfall and blight
I then find my strength in Your blood-redeeming power for victorious flight
In calming myself to prevail over guilt’s fright and frustration’s height.
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
terrifying my enemies greatly
Thank You for bracing me up to march on righteously
I then follow Your leading perseveringly
In coming nigh to Your throne so I can share Your peace bravely.
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
turning my heart from stubbornness
Thank You for barring me from disobedience and rebelliousness
I then fear You reverentially with total submissiveness
In committing my life to Your blessed joyfulness.
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
teaching my spirit to trust Your wisdom
Thank You for boosting me against vain quest for earthly stardom
I then fall into Your forgiveness, humbled in seeking first Your kingdom
In calling upon You while discovering Your bliss-filled freedom.
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
trying my conviction against materialistic prosperity
Thank You for burdening me with prayer quests to seeking You with sincerity
I then fence my mind around Your truth’s security
In combatting oppressive discontentment midst grievous futility.
Lord God, You are my battle Conqueror,
triumphing toward my divine cheerful excitement
Thank You for blessing me in my stewardship’s engagement
I then feast in Your presence with Your grace-endowment
In cleaving to You always by Your Word’s assuring bestowment.

Saw an old beggar with cup in hand
Pleading for coins ragged old man
Bald and toothless sight all but gone
Dropped him a coin he told his song
Once I was powerful and ruled the land
Anything I desired was at my command
Gorged on feast wine women and song
I was King of the World to me it belonged
I lived in palaces and ruled the World
Life and death at my finger's twirl
Every decision I utter from my lips
In scrolls great scholars dutifully kept
I wore robes woven of the finest gold
Legends and songs of me were told
Masses adored me treasures piled to the sky
Great statues of me were mountain high
Listening of tales from one ruined and humbled
The arrogance he spoked made truth crumble
He rattled his cup pathetic and sad
Apologizing it was the only coin I had
I left the old soul on the corner street
Never staying to learn of his defeat
But if life leaves you down and awhirl
Why not believe your King of the World.
May 3 Relationship to God Bible Meditations Based on Nehemiah 5-8
Key Verse – Nehemiah 5:9 Also I said, It is not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?
LORD GOD, YOU ARE MY HOLY FEAR INSTILLER
Lord God, You are my holy fear Instiller while meeting my need
Thank You for hearing me, seeing to it that to my earnest plea You heed...
So blessed am I that You help me as from bondage You have me freed
I consult with Your counsel for righteous creed.
Lord God, You are my holy fear Instiller while sustaining my peacefulness
Thank You for restoring me, filling my emptiness...
So grateful am I that You let me walk in Your goodness
I continue in Your work by Your graciousness.
Lord God, You are my holy fear Instiller while checking my heart’s struggle
Thank You for strengthening me, repairing my weakness-wiggle...
So privileged am I that You build me up against carnality-tangle
I cling to Your presence with Your care of compassionate bugle.
Lord God, You are my holy fear Instiller while aiding to my desperation
Thank You for loving me, sending me Your constant protection...
So glad am I that You enlighten me of my cast-down perception
I cleave to Your authority for my direction.
Lord God, You are my holy fear Instiller while upholding my future certainty
Thank You for watching over me, carrying me to Your fortress of security...
So honoured am I that You rule upon me by Your faithful sovereignty
I crave for Your purity from pollution’s iniquity.
Lord God, You are my holy fear Instiller while correcting my disagreement
Thank You for uplifting me, causing me to worship You with commitment…
So humbled am I that You bring me within Your love’s engagement
I claim Your assurance of promise-fulfillment.
Lord God, You are my holy fear Instiller while propelling my faith-venture
Thank You for teaching me with Your truths that spiritually nurture...
So joyous am I that You straighten me along prayerful posture
I call unto You so I can share Your compassionate gesture.

I Am SINNER-
I am a SINNER
I wonder what it will feel like to repent be forgiven then go to heaven
I hear the sound of the angels cheering my name
I see a garden and heaven full of people and angels
I want to wear a pair of wings and stand before the King
I am a SINNER
I pretend I am in God’s holy choir
I feel proud NO I sing loud I am humbled by my clarity
I touch the shiny golden mansion
I worry that my sick brother won't be able to make it to be with me
I cry about my brother's sickness
He to be a SINNER
I understand how much my brother wants to see me again
I say that when I sinned the soul I inhabit doomed to hell, he will be there , unless he repents and changes his will believe in God be thank-full
I dream about my brother standing up and cheering for Christ, Jesus
The one whose redeemed our lives
Hallelujah, alleluia over and over, over again
I try to help him get better every day I pray
I hope my dreams come true my hope is blessed
I rise, I stand in Jesus righteousness
I was once a Sinner

On powdered crystal wings Heaven descends to humbled Earth
Sparkling glimpses of jewelled treasures to some elegant worth
Pure, immaculate white no matter the depth to coming twilight
Billowing through myriads of veils, all fingerprints in first flight
She now dares to fall where she must, from dream in flutter
Dancing delicately...Swirling...Twirling into suddenly crisp hover
Shifted...Swayed...She enthralls my leaping, dizzying fascination
Like no other before, I marvel as she defies hurling gravitation
Intricate kaleidoscope of spirals linked and apart
Glittering feather like you float to repose my heart
Scintillating fragile, beauteous rays, my Dear always
Imparting uniqueness my touch never in time betrays
MY EXISTENCE (AMY)
I walk into the graveyard and see “Amy” on your stone,
And know from family hist’ry you’re not lying there alone.
She was not my mother but I can’t help but know
I owe my whole existence to the mother there below.
Amy was expecting, her first child on its way.
She took a spell as people said away back in that day.
The doctor came by buggy, few autos way back then.
No telephone to call him in the year nineteen and ten.
The doctor came into the room and in a solemn voice,
Said I cannot save them both, you have to make a choice.
“The mother by all means”, my future father said,
Then waited for the verdict, room filled with hope and dread.
But the doctor was unable to rescue either one.
He had no help to save them, surgeon far away in town.
He conveyed the dreadful news, his lack of skill confessed.
Said that he was sorry, he had done his very best.
They laid Amy in her grave for her eternal rest,
Her stillborn child still with her, placed upon her breast.
I can’t imagine father’s pain as they were lowered down,
His wife and child and future disappearing underground.
I’m so sorry for you Amy, you deserved a better fate.
Your whole life lay before you, so many paths to take.
A half built house reminder, still left for him to see.
I’m sorry that you had to die so that there could be me.
All the chapters in my life would not have taken place.
All the people that I knew, others in their space.
A trillion interactions, all the things I’ve done.
The sum of my existence, the sum could have been none.
I walk out of the graveyard, still more for me to give.
Humbled by my fortune in ever having lived.
One sad event occurring, so many years gone by.
The hand of fate deciding who would live and who would die.
Ellis Pringle Craig, 2025.
To humble yourself, I mean, to really take yourself back to zero, open a dictionary but not a student one.
I have been doing this lately, to study the words I do not know. I am using a super doper two volume extravaganza of a dictionary, so I am today as humble as I have ever been or shall ever be again.
I started listing all the words I did not know, but ended up with sixteen pages in an hour, so I am now listing the words I do know – not the ones I have heard and have no idea how to use - but the ones I am confident actually using, not in everyday speech because that would be irritating and seem silly, but in my writings.
When children say there is nothing to do, I wonder what they would say if they could see what I am doing?
When they say I am bored I wonder if they would be bored if they were inspired to keep learning?
I have no idea why I am inspired to keep learning. It must be intrinsic, because there is a voice within me that compels me to learn these words I was never interested in before this week.
It is not the voice of my parents. It is not the voice of my teachers. It is a voice humbled by the knowledge that there is so much I do not know. I sit with a dictionary twice as heavy as a microwave oven full of sausage pies on my lap, lamenting all the days I was sitting around saying how bored I was.
a broken phone in the muddy dirt
a neglected charger hanging on a badly worn clothesline
turned down for another loan
everything has been cut off or repossessed
now all my stuff is baking in the sun in a multilayered line on a very short curb
i am sitting in a raggedy chair wondering where to go with some type of next move
i am still also trying to find a new job after being laid off from the one i have been at for 21 years with no type of announcement or warning
i guess i should have cared more about caring
i guess i should have paid attention more to paying attention
i guess i was stuck in an imaginary waterfront version of vainglory
now here i am......humbled with nowhere to go and not a soul to call
with tears in my eyes and an ego painstakingly crushed, i blame myself
Lament the clumsy stumble bum who bungles his debut
By mumbling his monologue and missing every cue.
He wanders freely off his mark and often flubs his lines.
His timing’s unpredictable. His rhythm bumps and grinds.
He hams it up like Barrymore and eats the scenery whole.
His critics shame him endlessly, then eulogize his soul.
But though the humbled imbecile stands slack-jawed center stage,
He’s chosen best supporting actor this post-modern age.
His talents prove sufficient in the arts of song and dance
To stand him for election and provide him with a chance.
So he shall be the candidate his party comes to choose.
No matter how the voting goes, he knows he just can't lose.
His eyes were humbled
Heart more generous than gold
More than I'll ever be
Yet treated so cold
Man and God alike
His suffering, immense
He forgave like no other
His love was intense
Built in the Good Lord's image
His purpose, refinement
He laid out the path before us
Then perfectly lined it
My love for him, everlasting
He loves me the same
Though centuries apart
He paid for my shame
Unlike most debts
He paid in red
6 HOURS he hung
And steadily bled
When the torture came to close
He was placed in a tomb
To their dismay he left it vacant
Not near enough room
He was meant to reign in Heaven
And rest on a throne
A dark hole wouldn't suffice
They should have known
They didn't see his glory
They refused his grace
Their day came too
He chose their resting place
Atheists don't believe in Jesus
Over him they choose doubt
Sadly for them
They will go without
Jesus doesn't believe in atheists
They will not receive
The one thing he asks
Is that you believe
