Lifelong Hermitage Denizen Enjoys Spiritual Freedom

Neither encumbered with
     material trappings, nor money,
(neither of which I miss)
mine existence approxi-
     moxy mates (to me),
     the state of psychic,
     intrinsic, and bucolic bliss
though far removed

     from civilization distant
as thee (myopic) eye can see,
     a benevolent, redolent,
and verdant pristine premise
bespoken, expressed, and invoked
     to cosmic consciousness, especially
     threats (to life and limb
     courtesy *****sapiens),

     isolated wilderness
absent villagers tsuris,
this monk thank
     fully doth dismiss
homestead of unspoiled habitats
though contact with eldest,
     and youngest sis
plus deux darling daughters,

     the only people, whose absence
     accompanies me to wince
with gentle hug, and air kiss
communing with nature
     faintly conjures Swiss
Family Robinson
similarities, though this
subarctic Siberian wilderness

connotes more drastic
     (ideal to me) solitude perfect
     remote abode tubby remiss,
cuz this loner loathes
     to impress others,
     who don, and
     trumpet an (all self)
     important air of priss

see ness, no thank dear reader,
     I revel as a misanthrope
     glad to isolate myself
breathe deep sigh relief asper,
     not being party to hiss
see fit, nor participate in
     superficial rituals like...Christmas.

Cat sitting

I came to sit for a lovely home
A week of quiet, time alone
When I arrived, all seemed well
A tidy home, as I could tell

Excitement flowing through my veins
I turned the knob and took the reins
But what I found, to my surprise
Ten furry tails and twenty eyes

Trash was strode about the room
Nowhere in sight, was there a broom
2 black cats stared me down
Bowls lie empty on the ground

A Siamese, untied my lace
I met the floor with little grace
Two orange Toms were mocking me
Then a third, if you’ll believe

A tabby wove between my feet
This one, it seemed, rather sweet
A hiss rung out somewhere behind
All claws and teeth, twas eight and nine

The next one, big, but face unclear
While swinging on the chandelier
Unsteady claws flew about my head
“Get down right now! Get down!”, I said

I balled my fist to make him weary
Only then I saw him way more clearly
His golden eyes bore right through me
With sharpened teeth, primed to chew me

My fumbling fingers, found the switch
And lit the room, without a hitch
I must admit, when there was light
My eyes clinched shut and wished for night

As the week came to a close
I felt a tickle attack my nose
A bit choked up, to say farewell
Yet downright glad to exit Hell

Devil's Dance

Weeping voices in a place of rot.
A place of stench where the worm dieth not.

Billowing smoke and banshees scream.
Soon to realize its not a dream.

The devils dungeon the great abyss.
The whispering voices the serpent's hiss.

Coals of fire and cauldrens too.
All deception and nothing true.

A place of limbo and great contempt.
For all eternity where time is spent.

The eternal furnace where flesh is burned.
Where love is absent and hatred's earned.

Metal shoes singed with heat.
To be strapped upon your feet.

You talked the talk now dance the dance.
For your transgressions have been enhanced.

Fragrant Love

My Beloved,

If the Mediterranean waves, could carry me to your arms,
I'd wake up, to your whispers, enchanted by your charms.
If the Wafting Wind could breeze me to the your bed,
Our longing lips would kiss and hiss,In hungry emotions wed.
If this love i feel, could linger in your Heart,If we could live
our dulcet dreams, escape from fantasies, and never be apart.
If "I "could be with "You",and "You" could be with" Me"
We'd watch the the Stars at night twinkling tranquility,
Sparkling in secret splendor, shining Our blissful destiny.
If we could be together, till the day,"Forever",I'd hold on
to your hand,be your sufficient other, the dedicated lover
and even your bestfriend.I'd be your daily listener, your passion,
your romance,I'd love you to infinity, till the Universal ends.
If We could lie together on Gossamer mattressed lands,
on threaded silken sheets made by cobwebs' perfect hands,
If We could walk, laugh and embrace on gold warm Honeyed Sands.
If we could hear the sweetest sound of shells and pebbles play,
If I could call your name and hear your husky voice in answer
everday,If I could turn around to find you, looking my way,
If I could be with you,and live "the promise" of today,
Tomorrow I'd still be there,a Lavender in your grey.

I once had thirty nine brothers and sisters
now I’m all alone in the world
Probing fingers
viciously tore me apart from my twin.

My white dress
is speckled with dark dust…
it’s all that remains of my siblings.
I was tossed back into my carboard box home
and left in solitary confinement

I know my days are numbered
as my captor mercilessly
dips her hand in and grabs me.
I do not struggle as she pulls me out
but I can hear a hiss and see a steaming monster

I’m popped into a pretty bone china container
It’s lovely and warm, I feel quite relieved
Until my captor says to me,
“Gran always said I should warm the teapot first”
Then the stark reality of my fate smacks me in the face

All of a sudden the floral china lid is raised
My captor is standing in front of me
I see the steaming monster towering over me
Now I know the fate of my relations …
they were all boiled alive!

She took my Man

To the other woman,
I am not mad at you.
What you see in him now,
is what he shows me yesteryear,
only one of us will weep upon his grave:
To the All-Woman Who ‘Loses’ Her Mate
When love unravels, and betrayal stings, The all-woman weeps, her heart’s fragile wings. Yet hidden within this tempest of pain, A metamorphosis awaits, a higher gain.
For grief and loss, like chisels, refined, Her mating intelligence, a gift divine. She learns to read the subtle cues that lie, In future mates, revealing truth from the sly.
And so, she emerges, battle-scarred but wise, No longer blinded by love’s sweet disguise. Her heart, a compass, guides her through the storm, detecting low mate value, keeping her warm.
But what of the other woman, entwined? She dances with deception, love’s twisted bind. Her prize, a man who once betrayed with ease, A history of infidelity, a heart ill at ease.
As days pass, the all-woman stands tall, her dress discarded, memories small. She knows her worth, her happiness her own, No charity case, no borrowed throne.
And when malice whispers, its venomous hiss, she invokes Hanlon’s razor, dismissing the abyss: “Never attribute to malice,” she wisely imparts, “That which is adequately explained by stupidity’s arts.”
Human behavior, shaped by traits unseen, A dance of folly, wisdom, and what might have been. To the other woman, no anger, no strife, Just a silent knowing—one weeps upon life’s knife.

Premium Member Og

Located in the country town of Ennis, in the Banner County of Clare
Is the ivy clad Old Ground Hotel, and to enter mice wouldn't dare
Because OG is in residence, who wears a fur coat and has green eyes
And the last little mouse to try his luck there, was taken by surprise.

T'was one cold December night, that this mouse decided that he'd raid
And wasn't until he was in the dining room, realised the error that he'd made
He'd heard a loud hiss and seized with terror, ran all the way to Poets Bar
But he was certainly no match for OG's speed, and alas didn't get very far.

OG put out a statement, via the press office at the Old Ground Hotel
To all the mice in Ennis I'm warning you, stay away and all will be well
I move like a bullet at lighting speed and prisoners I will never take
If you come within one mile of here, you'd better organise your wake.

Word quickly spread in the mousey world, the Old Ground is out of bounds
Because faithful OG is forever vigilant, he's always patrolling the grounds
So if you want a mouse free stay, then I recommend the Old Ground Hotel
And for you it will be like paradise and for our mousey friends living hell.

He will welcome you when purring, as if to say "what have you got a for me"?
But don't fall for for his tricks, because he's treated well with caviar and brie
We have adopted him as our mascot for our family reunion in twenty three
And we all can't wait to meet that friendly feline, that cute bundle they call OG.

Mother Careys Chickens

mother carey’s chickens scream
as they slide just above wave height
following our creaming wake
as we plough forwards on to night.
there is a peculiar type of silence
in that dark not dark out here at sea
more of a reverenced muted hush
as the stars break suddenly free

to pinpoint the arched non darkness
as the waves break and hiss
rolling surely around our hull
like a mother’s all embracing kiss
and the water seem to beckon me
tempt me but mange somehow to fail
night after night calling to me
as I press hard against the rail

and mother carey’s chickens
heel and glide and swerve around
joining their soulful calling
to the other oceanic sounds
and in the enclosure of the night
midway to the approaching morn
I can understand a call to dying
for it seems far too far to dawn

and the orchestra of nature still
plays its solemn unconcerned air
calling always calling
for you to join it there
there is a certain time when
the will to win that fight
seems to want to ebb away
and then suddenly first light

mother carey’s chickens salute
you’ve managed to survive
yet one more night at sea
and come through it alive
but our voyage is just started
maybe it will prove too long
and I or someone like me
will succumb to the siren song

mother carey’s chickens
role and glide and scream
dive through your sleep
to enter into your dream
it’s all part of fascination
of a life spent on the sea
as though I’m a part of nature
and that same nature’s part of me

Tiny Home

Wind outside my tiny home, wreaking chaos on its porch
Wicker chairs and potted plants, stand firmly against its force
Finely tuned chimes sound loudly, sending sweetly toned notes into the night
A candle I’ve lit flickers, with the flow of cool currents through aging wooden panes
As the warm glow from the fire, now comforting, fends off the chill from a cool springtime rain
Tuxedo cats hardly notice a thing, intertwined into something resembling a fine sable
Opening one eye on occasion, then quickly returning to twilight
The fire logs let out a soft sounding hiss, as they shrink into hot glowing embers
Fixing my gaze towards its vibrant colors. Comforting, Hypnotic
Drift off to sleep with sounds of a storm. Who’s sharp pitches and tones
Guiding me gently like binaural beats and theta waves
Into another state, created by conscious choice. A world of making all my own

Premium Member Aggressive Party Loving Geese

Geese have a New Year’s Eve party on roof of my house
Daring me to care but I turn my back on them to talk to Klaus.
So they come closer, and shake their confetti and blow their horns.
I cannot help but think most of these silly geese are middle-borns.

Come join us! A frisky one says, giving me a wink. Blowing me a kiss.
Me and my pet cobra give him a glare and a not-so-gentle hiss.
They are getting ready for dancing now. The caller is outrageous though.
“Swing your partner let’s do-si-do, let her flash where the sun don’t go!”

I run into the house to get my square dancing dress with petticoats too.
There is just so much dancing I am not enticed to do….
