Failure's specter shadows my days,
In dreams, I'm lost in an endless maze.
Less ego, more teamwork, I see,
Could've altered fate's decree.
When projects blaze, then swiftly fall,
Blame lands squarely, at my call.
Seeking help, if ideas stall,
Collaboration, best of all.
Dreams revisit failures old,
Two decades gone, yet still untold.
Changing jobs to hide the pain,
Blame rests solely in my domain.
Dreams won't mend what's gone awry,
The past is past, no need to pry.
From errors made, wisdom glean,
Release the grip of dreams unseen.
A man may stumble, falter, fall,
Yet failure's not his name to call.
When blaming others clouds his view,
He loses sight of what is true.
But when he turns and takes the blame,
He learns to rise, reclaim his aim.
With newfound strength, he charts his course,
Guided by wisdom, driven by force.
Hate me, but for goodness sake
Don’t be indifferent
At least hate is a testament
To my power over you…
A warped and deranged compliment
To my importance…
For it takes passion to hate
And none at all to be
Indifferent
Hate me…but for goodness sake
Don’t be indifferent
Yell at me, spill out your anger
In vehement words
That wound and burn
I will use it as balm for my soul
Instead of being fed
The poison of your indifferent
Silence
Hate me…but for goodness sake
Don’t be indifferent
For what is hate
But a step beyond love?
Rejection's retaliation
Self Preservation's warning call to hide
From a power too great
Too strong
Too deep
Too life threatening
But what is indifference but
The inability to be loved
To care
To hurt
To want
To desire
To feel
It is nothing but the passionless state of
Love’s deadness
Hate me, but for goodness sake
Don’t be indifferent
I will welcome that hate
For I know that it belies
A love in pain….
A love still alive…
Yes, hate me…
And in your hate
I will find the secret
To make you love me again.

"Pissed Off"
by: Eric L. Bodddie
It really saddens me to write these words
The current state of the USA is so absurd
Black Lives do Matter just as all the others do
Candace Owens said George Floyd deserves no sympathy, Candace, shame on you
Your path leads STRAIGHT TO HELL, I wonder what all they will do
And to say you are for the black community, is that the sellout code
There is one in every woman, but at some point, you must exit b**** mode
Then there's Laura Ingraham, proof that racism does exist
She told Lebron to shut up and dribble, but she's cool with what Brees admits
Then she tried to hide behind our Lord, just know God Will Remember that
He Has A Special Place for those trying to implement Him in their false acts
And Trump said Floyd's death was good for both, the USA and him
From here I can smell the bulls*** on the breaths of all of them
The peace has been tried, but the masses won't let this slide
Kap tried to tell them back then, but attention was diverted to the flag
This is the devil's nation, the truth is right before our eyes
Church and state are to be separate, but on the currency is where their god lies
The Word Says the love of money is what lies at the very root
And if you cant see that, you can go to hell with all the f****** loot
Hush, my little one, do not cry,
The sky is blood, the stars run dry.
The bombs will fall, the walls will shake,
But here in my arms, I will not break.
The streets are rivers of ash and flame,
And every step you take bears my shame.
Men with power, hearts turned to stone,
Have left this world for you alone.
The wind it whispers of homes now lost,
Of forests burned, of rivers tossed.
The hunger bites, the fire grows,
The world is crueler than anyone knows.
I wish for you a softer place,
A sun-warmed field, a gentle face.
But all I can give are trembling hands,
To guide you through these shattered lands.
Close your eyes while the sirens scream,
While the night devours every dream.
The bombs will fall, the glass will break,
But you are safe for my own heart’s sake.
I will shield you from every sound,
From shadows that crawl upon the ground.
The cold may bite, the smoke may sting,
But I will guard you through everything.
The men who march with boots of steel,
Cannot undo what we now feel.
But even here, in ruins deep,
I promise, darling, you’ll not weep.
Hush now, child, the night is long,
The world is harsh, the world is wrong.
But in this cradle, hold my hand,
And I will help you understand:
That though the skies rain fire and grief,
And though the nights bring no relief,
There is a spark within your chest,
A fragile flame that will not rest.
Sleep, my darling, hush, and dream,
Though shadows crawl and sirens scream.
The world is dark, the world is wide,
But here, in my arms, you can hide.
And when the dawn breaks weak and grey,
We’ll face the ruins, we’ll find a way.
Though history’s weight bends every knee,
You are the light they cannot see.
So sleep, my little one, sleep tight,
Through endless bombs and endless night.
Though I cannot stop the world’s cruel hand,
I will love you still, and help you stand.
Blasted by these days and hours?
Know thee not alone!
Cursed dog, how ye devours!
Build thy throne of bone!
Dark fire, whistle through each vein!
I am God and Death!
Coming wrath, art thou insane?
Dragon, fire thy breath!
Vampire, hide thy coffin well.
Witch, thy favorite spell.
O for Heaven without Hell!
Hear me, wedding bell!
Thought-spark, sing in me! Bright bold!
I must find more gold!
What to have and when to hold?
How it's getting cold...
Rabid is the ravine? When?
Does it need to be?
Sacred vision, then again!
Prophet, poet. Mead!
Doom and Death, thy coworker.
How I must requite!
Cast, enchantment! Slick and sure!
Erebus means Night!
Volcano above me?
Well, Capacocha's dark.
Say a word for fancy-free!
Covenant, Boy, and Ark!

The world was collapsing, and we ran away
to hide in our homes, both night and day
forsake our friends, and family too
when we were ordered, and told what to do
no choice, or question, just do this when
we were told, not by gods but by men
they have left the field, their banners furled
and we scurried away, and at home we curled
no call to arms, no battle cry,
social distance, or you will die
no talk, no question, just do what your told
and denigrate anyone who acts too bold
to not believe will be a sin
we will open the jails, and throw you in
we know best, and we’ll have our way
but you’re the one who will have to pay
and in the end, when the virus has gone
they will pat their backs, and say “well done”
but what they have accomplished we will see
is a devastated land, once rich and free
this has happened to mankind before
pestilence, famine, destruction and war
but the human spirit has not been cowed
as we are now, just a milling crowd
no one is sure what to do or say
directions changing every day
the old may die, and the young carry on
but the world is still here though we are gone
now when this ends, and we know it will
if I was wrong, and I’m not here still
then sit by my grave, say “I told you so”
but I will not hear you, so I will not know
Hand in hand, we walk along.
Flicker up the sand.
Amidst the soft light of summer's evening silhouette,
The sky stack with images of a beautiful portrait.
Colourful sunset over the sea.
Landscape canvas acrylic and mystique
awakening the degree of intrigue.
Momentarily, listening to the Melancholy waves,
Marching as the multitude of rotation braves,
exploring underground caves.
Summer retreat far out into the deep,
The volume of laugher soaks wet and steep.
come back each year after we sleep in the vale.
Having banished the storms and winter hale.
Sumer portraits bring the neat
sheets racing back towards our feet.
Blend with the syncopating sound of our heartbeat.
A deep yearning of intense, longing for lovers embrace,
Of this nectar taste, a precious gift of grace.
Portray the roaming summer growing warmer,
like the flames of enraptured fire.
Smothering us in the dept of passionate desire.
Beach and ocean, are almost subconscious,
The images of life touching the craving exemplifies.
Expression of exhilaration, primitive passion
And influential decision.
The appetite of feelings we carry for each other,
Make our lips and eyes flutter.
Through a variety of countryside watercolor.
As the current rides with the tide and tries to hide.
We sunk our toes into the sand,
with the strength of dreams held firm in our hands.
The radiant glamour of feelings enticed our emotions,
Temperatures are unable to define their notions.
A pond of hazy summer correlations.
Summer night is like a candlelit lit by flame.
A stellar season, always filled with reasons.
for repeating your name.
When the moment came, I knew it was fate.
I felt my heart melt and anticipate.
The warmth, gentle caring touch participate.
We are nearer today rather than further away.
In my heart, you will always stay.
The sun has been looking for me all day,
But I've chosen to hide under mismatched pajamas and layers of irritation.
I don't know what I'm angry about, I just am.
I wake up at 7:24, glare at the world, and dive back under my pillows.
My dog snuggles next to my hip.
At 9:12 I get up, bathroom, and patter into the kitchen.
I hold the refrigerator door open a long time, settling on biscuits and gravy.
They are delicious, but I focus instead on the sausage with freezer burn.
Crap! Does nothing go right around here?
I am in a bad mood; I am grouchy, and horribly mean to my husband
The dog and I hit the bed again with big plops.
At 11:21 my eyes pop open. My mind gingerly follows, wondering what mood we're in.
I trot into the kitchen, eat two chocolate candies. I am ready to do something.
Word games and crime shows have depressed me lately; they are usually my go-tos.
Am I in the painting mood? I took the day off for a reason, right?
I look at what I'm wearing. Paint cannot hurt my outfit, so I wander into my art studio.
I am always in the midst of three paintings. Today is no different. The first six brushes
I pick up are awful. I throw them into my paint water. I should have ordered new ones,
but I forgot.
Mood is waiting, eagerly, ready, hoping....are we mad? Can we stomp and yell?
I glare at mood. Who is in control here? The dog runs off, after something. I hear her barking.
I smile. Trot into my office. Try to start the computer.
It has not been started for nine months, updates keep her busy all day; sure, the week I re-discovered my words. I take a sketchbook and plop down on the couch. The sun is all over me from three giant windows. I feel warm, happy, loved. Thank god for the Sun.
Year 1488
Daring to hide it in verses and score,
Ursula Shipton predicted her scrolls would not be understood until years after her body’s release.
Read aloud by an educated nephew, almost five decades after they were protected by a family of peace.
She may have been burned at the stake for her predictions of America’s Civil War, simply for being a she.
Her prophesies included horseless carriages, and men’s future unfathomable plans to conquer both the sky and the sea.
Understanding that a metallic monster, would change education, and the menfolk from farms would flee.
Pictures that feel alive – computers, U-tube, I-pads, video and their predecessor – TV?
Mother predicted all this and more. Daring to hide it in verses and score,
Nostradamus had protection of patrons, medical background, sublime.
Ursula Shipton knew her predictions she had best write down in decipherable rhyme.
England’s most famous prophetess, born in Norfolk, England in 1488, she dared not share her fire. Prophesized that women would cut their hair short, and wear trousers, practically three hundred years prior.
When I think of her brilliance at hiding her mystical savvy, hiding psychic self in her moods,
Her declaration that “men will live as hogs” makes me smile, predicting processed foods?
London fire seeing before the fact, she knew of the Catholic Church’s fall, the rise of Elizabeth,
Me thinks a comet is coming that will circle the earth for six days, six nights, causing us instant death.
A homely woman, she may have been, but her ideas were sound, as they came right in.
Daring to hide it in verses and score, Prophetess Ursula Shipton, forevermore!
Aye, the rose stands alone
with subtle powers to atone
solitude and faith, will behold
love between souls unfold
Sadness flees, hands clutch
tears melt away, hearts touch
lips meet, with a tender grace
two people face, lovingly embrace
Silent moonlight, echoes of the waves
a chance to eternity, the moment paves
on a sandy beach, with a heart to soar
beseeching her hand, bliss forever more
Soft cheeks can no longer hide
her emotions are too built up inside
embracing him with the love she's kept
silence now spoke, together they wept
Remembering how the moon paled that endless night
untainted love borne from the depths, burning bright
no longer would sadness endure, no longer to defy
Love found its true nest, never again to say good-bye
