Shed a tear for the stars,
Who’ve fallen blindly,
Like a slow ache,
To the still, dark earth,
Where inklings of grace,
Grow wild as the sands,
Flowing free, like make believe,
In the heavy prison
Of dusty songs,
Warring with the night,
Before life went wrong,
Echoing melancholy
To night’s wounded soul,
One who knows lonely
Never stays alone
Soon, the other will enter
The solitary pain,
Revoking the seclusion
As time colors spirits
In sentimental, gentle
As the glow of fireflies
Glistening silhouettes
Shadow’s regrets
A million miles
Yet, here we are, stumbling
Through the silence, still
As the last breath, gasping
Wandering through promises,
Stirring seasonal freedoms
Flowers, rain, reflections
In the spirit, I hear Him
Singing, singing, singing
Never giving up on me,
Hesitating like afternoon,
Healing, helping, heartening
Comforting every last wound
And I hear Him, His song
Pouring out like a river, rushing
Waters of love – softly flowing
My heart, assured, knowing
Forever is coming soon
Time never forgets
Seasons blessed by psalms,
Heart words, warring with dark
Truth that has a voice well known
For its fire, its depth, its wisdom
Reflecting all the serenity found
By those who know Him, love
Like a sea of eventual
Forming lakes of everlasting
Hopes of God’s perfection
Sunshine images erasing the pain,
Seeking to shine like the grace
That finds the lost, despite the cost
Rescuing, freeing, saving
What was impossible
Is positive of His love,
Love like a sea, splashing
Light all around my spirit
Joy without measure
Wherever I am, whatever comes,
I know One who has made a way
One who shines brighter than I can say
He is the promise that I can’t break
With all my worst sins, all my darkness
I can’t spoil the song that He wrote…
When He came to die
Then come back to life,
Making a way for you and I
Thank God for the words
Poured out in love, true love,
On pages of Holy verses,
He came to save the world
And assure the heart whose heard
What it means to follow His path
Leading to life, everlasting
Life that will never end
Life that is forgiven of sin.
I’m so thankful that I’m His
I’ve been chosen and blessed
So I’ll never stop thanking Him!
Listen to the wind, sighing gently –
Intimate as the moan from an oak,
Crackling, groaning, yet breathing light
From the soul of summer…
As it fades beneath autumn’s breath,
Blowing wonders into the moments,
Quiet dreams and soothing thoughts,
Healing the mind – restoring the heart,
Whispering joy through the dark –
This is the risk of knowing a season,
Like laughter and reason,
Raining down furious waters, soaking
The earth, the dreams, the plans
With liquid news from the heavenly realms,
Where peace reaches beyond the clouds,
Comforting the mountains who remember
Only the beautiful, the blue-gray shimmer, rising
Beyond the moments, where hope smiles
Laughing in colors, whimsical and brisk –
Gold and auburn, scarlet and peach,
Heartening the hills with a brilliance
Far more beautiful, quietly beautiful,
Than the wish who betrays the mystery
In silence, the anonymous dream,
The rising of a heart
From the depths of pain, misery
Defeated by the autumn singing, dancing
With grace, purity promising
To fulfill every yearning, each hope
With a praise that lifts up the One who
Shines brighter than the blazing sun,
Like the brilliance of a love that has won…
Into the blessings, on prayers
When nothing seems quite so lasting
As the wind, the sing song voice
Healing and hoping, hastening to remind
That the secret living just beneath
The wind’s gusts, in the silence
Kissing away the past and releasing
The movement, so full of grace,
Swirling leaves and vibrating, trembling
In the trees … this is the wind’s lullaby –
A serenade from autumn, when
Everywhere, on every street – in every oak,
On the wings of thunder and amid
The sweetness of showers, there is a still
Soothing, a gentling that becomes almost
A song who lingers all night long,
Then sighs on the breathe of dawn,
When all that is left to say is ‘listen’
Just listen to the call of fall… when the wind
Sings its lullaby to the misty mornings,
Like the trembling wings of a freedom who believes
This is the echo of joy on the breathless
Praises poured out from the succulent autumn,
When winds remind me to breath in –
Forever, always, eternity in a sense of Him,
Reflected on the joyous wind’s lullaby
It's hard
What is?
The feigned facade displayed on Caps on my face
The last thing I am is brave
In the dark, I'm everything I want to be
In the light, I'm who they want me to be.
It's hard
What is?
The imposed words gushing from their mouths with the resonance of stamps
Like rules but they are beliefs
Beliefs that I am something more
Define more? I mean great
Inexorable convictions stamped like fulfilled routines of their daily affairs
Oh they think I'm a thing!
It's not fair!
Mother's perfect white dentition spread wide like the gossip of the market women
As I exit the interview room,
As I walk down the stairs
As I walk into the academic hall
As I anticipate their expectations that it should turn out right
Her smiles are bright but not my psych.
Dad says I stand out and I know I do
But not in the way he assumes
I don't hate to disappoint
For that is me, it's what I always do.
But what could be at stake?
The fast growing bubble that may burst
And they get to find out my name, I mean my name
The one weighed by shame
The one I'm afraid to utter
For it may sound familiar to their ears and then go up in flames
With no remains or crumbs for tomorrow
And I'll hear it for the hundredth time, “i told you so”
Though this time from their lips and not my mind.
I wish I could hide behind the closed doors that never opened for me
For somehow the four corner walls of the solitary room is not safe for me
I think I'm scared of me
I'm scared that if I succeed,
I'll be living a fake and not being me
Being accustomed to failure is real.
When others believe it seems they're tryna set their records straight
To have the world praise their good name
for being the saving grace to failures like me
Though there was never grace.
The last thing I am is brave
In the dark, I'm everything I am
Solace in my weakness as imbecilic as it may sound
In the light, I'm everything they want me to be
A sham disguise infants can bet on and win
Not everything can be hidden.
I acknowledge the abyss
The unflinching defeat that at least brings peace from its stability
Even in the midst of piercing heartening
So who's next please?
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
In the quest for answers – she trembles,
Will God accept or reject her?
Her heart doubts, worries, dreads…
Will darkness surround her when she leaves,
This world behind, a carving in time.
Is she headed to the wonder of heaven’s light?
Will the devil come to silence her when God lifts her up?
When time has left her amid the promises…
Peace, assurance, a need for His gifts - priceless grace,
Will faith sustain? Will Jesus send for her?
Will love make a way, even a trail? Can He still her fears?
In the pursuit of God’s response, His reassurance,
Comforting her hesitant heart, her…
Suspicions that she will never make it into that place,
Heaven, where all her hope is hidden,
Beneath shadows of doubt, layers of fear,
Questions that seem to bring her to places – where is He?
Is He near?
Death, a shadow for her heart to travel through,
An echo that erases her past and melts away every distress,
With the promise of His endless rest…
Will she see Jesus, her ultimate Prince – King of Kings,
His light, softly glowing and revealing the secrets,
Love overflowing into her spirit, heartening her soul,
Inviting her to worship the Son, Her life’s greatest joy,
The reason that knowing – He has come for her…
Brings peace that never fades, peace that sings of faith,
Peace that soothes and stays… eternally, forever, always,
Singing to her of His beauty and kindness,
The warmth of His light, bleeding through her night,
Stirring her appreciation for the wonder of God’s blessings.
Will she remember, when she sees Him –
To tell Him she is grateful, because He made a way for her,
Because of His wonderful plan, she is forever saved –
From the fears that bring to life all the reasons that she’s unfit,
For this amazing that is His gift, this perfect…
That only He can give – because it is Jesus that saves us,
From the worst fate there is…
Living throughout time without our magnificent Prince!
Yes, she lives for Him – the One who saved her tortured soul!
sigh ...
there is no shortage
of gloom and doom these days
we are in the midst of something unseen in our time
and the fear and hysteria is palpable
that said, I'm not taking the blue pill ... no way
reality is important, as are fear and caution
those darker things keep us safe
they temper our decisions and guide our courses
still, choice comes down to line-of-site ...
every time I say or do or affect anything
remotely encouraging or positive or optimistic ...
a thick, cold, wet blanket is thrown
the "reality", I am told ...
here's the thing -
I've been in pharmacy and
medicine and science my whole life
and from the beginning of this viral monster
I've been extraordinarily aware of the "reality" of this rabbit hole
odds, numbers, percentages, statistics
trials, results, vaccines, treatments
sobering, to say the least
but HOPE is a reality as well, just as sobering
and while these aged-but-wise
lungs of mine can still push gases
I'll choose to take the hopeful, encouraging, OPTIMISTIC tack
bring on the darkness and gloom
I have been to hell and back a number of times
I know the darkness well
and therein shine the most glorious of suns
oh, I absorb and process and consider all the dark
and cold and discouraging elements of this horrible pandemic
(anyone would be foolish NOT to know the weight of this disease
or understand the deadly seriousness
of all that comes with it)
but sunlight can peep through a wee hole
and it is THOSE rays that will always draw my gaze
life IS hope, from where I sit
and as long as I can type -
as long as I embrace this gift of mine for crafting words
I'll consider it my duty to use that tool
at least in some part
for the promotion of all things shiny
bright, optimistic, encouraging
happy, joyous, hopeful, halcyon, uplifting
heartening, upbeat, inspiring
and absurdly sunny
call me delusional - I've been called MUCH worse
it won't bother me ... much, lol
but ...
this is no fantasy land or careless dream I'm living in
it's simply the brighter reality
that I CHOOSE to see ...
the more hopeful future
I choose to anticipate.
There’s something about dew, glistening,
Wistful and wishing,
Clinging to quiet petals,
Gently hugging…
There’s something about mist, indefinable,
Hazy as a shadow,
Haunting the heart,
Heavy with hope…
There’s something about shafts of light,
Creating a trembling desire,
Coloring the spirit fiery,
Urging reflections, rising…
There’s something about stars, glistening,
Trembling in the skies,
Singing joy through the night,
Falling, smiling, exciting…
There’s something about a song, inspiring,
Drifting through the heart,
Flowing joy into the soul,
Harmony that won’t let go…
There’s something about rain, lightly kissing,
Stirring the soul to a brave,
Beyond the fear,
Aching, daring, audacious…
There’s something about silence, tempting,
Heartening the colors who last,
Sensations of blue, azure,
Like the seas, shores so true…
There’s something about a bible, wisdom,
Poured out on the one who looks,
Between the pages, the ages,
Discovering its truth, so amazing…
There’s something about His presence,
It feels like love overflowing,
Grace that is softly glowing,
Stirring the melody of His calling…
There’s something about this pen,
When it seeks only Him,
Joy falls in inky shimmers,
Reflecting a love that is indispensable…
There’s something about the simple things,
The music, the trees, the heart that believes,
When time ends and life stands still,
There is the promise of eternal peace…
There’s something about living for God,
Hearts are blessed beyond words,
Seeking Him is worth all the hurt,
He is the One who transforms bad to good…
There’s something about knowing Jesus,
Restoring the heart with His reasons,
To live with the hope of eternity,
Beside the One who is so worthy….
There’s something about every living thing,
Wherever I look, I find His creativity,
Signs that He is and He will forever be,
The answer, the light, the love that I need…
I’m so thankful to know the One who lived and died for me!
5...4...3...2......1..GO!
Get ready to release yourself from deep waters
Land on high grounds
Thrills surrounding your awed temptations
3...2...1..
You are ready to take your first flight!!!
To a wondrous
Space of wonders
Good morning to a space glimpse!
Luminous happiness sweltering
From a secure, sincere sunshine
Peeking from scarless sun
Careless of the background
Space of wonders
You'll be always remembered
In my photographing memory
Cherished as my own child
Remain mild...control the ship in a sprinkled space
Space of wonders
How could you mutter those
Floating inspirations?
Tripping on every verse
Keeping track of space life
Full of energy and renewal
The commotion from Earth
Has been on the duelist
It's inspired for awhile
Replaced with a remarkable universe
Space of wonders
How could you burn our hearts with threatening passion?
Hugging us in compassion
How could you mutter those
Floating aspirations?
Cherished as my own
favorite memory
Good morning to space life
Devious and uncontrollable
As slick as many criminals
Working as a one big team
To circulate around
The main sequence of trouble
Glisten as the star-filled sky
Along with warm, heartening rain
Good morning...
To you, oh glorious soul!
Your vision shown in space
Rolling in your circular face
Thrilling and tripping unsteadily
With an unstable way of living
Close the scene for a lightyear moment
Feel our diversity
Watch the stars roam about like syrup rubbing against a soft, puffy
pancake
Take your flight, you sunlit fairy
On a cloudless, scarlet sky
Shining as the sun
Swiftly diving down as a surfing dude
Open as the driven waves,
trusting the possible tasks
Put your task aside for now
Save it for leftovers
We are arriving in our zoo-like cage
Suitable for excitement and ominous worries
Welcome royal destiny!
Arriving on the doorstep of your front door
Along with a letter saying:
"Goodbye to midnight bliss!
Good morning to a kiss of gleaming space of wonder!"
Into my heart, you stirred
Beauty and grace, hope so alive
Breathing in color, inspiring
Music that arises from the flames
Burning with compassion, erasing
Every doubt, disgrace and darkness
With the wonder of a light
Fulfillment in hues of a sigh, a love
Awash in brilliance, rich, uplifting
Kindness that abides on the inside
Inspired by the reflection of you
Mirroring all the love I yearn for
Into my soul, you brightened
The feelings that I cherish, the reasons
Acceptance thrives like my smile
Who is laughing with wishes so pure
Beautiful feelings, sensitive and true
Coloring my dreams in hues of peace
Awakening my courage with plans
To give me the food to feed my hunger
For a wonderful realization, love so inviting
It feels like the answer to a prayer
The intimacy that moves me close
To you and your loving ways, your
Serenity and faith, your giving – your gift
Of offering so much of yourself
Into my spirit, you sparkle, dazzling
Like the dance that swirls joy
Through my promises, my beliefs
Gentling each thought with reprieve
From the loneliness, the darkness
Shadows of doubt lingering to cloud
My greatest pleasure, the relationship
Where I’ve found a part of myself
In the eyes of someone else… You
The one who silences my fears, my tears
With heartening whispers, endearments
That leave me feeling valued, adored
As if I’m someone – love has come for
Into my life, you embraced me
Kissing away every reservation with assurance
That your love was enough to free me
From the solitude, the isolation – the seclusion
Aloneness that was swarming with a quiet
Echoing the need for a best friend, someone
Who I could count on, someone to love
With a love that is inspired by God’s grace
A love that is alive, full of joy and faith
A love that is mine – because I see your face
When I think of how it feels to give away
The parts of me that your love uncovers
Thank you, my special friend – for you
And all the joy, hope and love you bring!
He is the giver of life, the giver of light
The giver of hope, faith and love
The giver that rains down joy from above
He is the giver of grace, the giver of peace
He gives more than we expect, more
Than we can ever give back…
We will never outgive the giver of all givers
The giver of our hearts and souls
The One who lights up the morning with sun
And the evening with the moon and stars
The One who colors our dreams in vibrant hues
Of wonder and joy, silencing every doubt
Assuring us of miracles that will abound
Delighting the imagination, charming the heart
Gratifying the soul with beauty and grace
He is the giver of inspiration, the giver of courage
He brings us through the worst pain and sorrow
Reassures our hearts when they are breaking
Encourages our minds to believe and praise Him
He is the giver of serenity, the sweetest peace
Lives because He is a giver of harmony and tranquility
He erases all the darkest dread and frees us
From the destruction of our past failures and sins
He is the giver of so many things we can’t even list
Because the full pages would fill up massive books
He is the giver, the maker, the gracious Creator
His love dances through our souls, promising
Heartening, inspiring, cheering us on…
So that wherever we go and whatever we do…
His light is always reflected from inside
Where His Holy Spirit stirs our love to life
He is the giver and I can never outgive Him
But I can honestly say… I praise Him
With all of my heart, all of my thoughts
All of the love that I take time to give away
Because He taught me that my love
Was meant to be given without conditions!
With all of my heart… I pray from my soul…
To the giver of life, the giver of hope
The giver of faith and the giver of love
A prayer of sincere gratitude for all the wonder
His light shines across the moments, the days
Across hearts and souls who belong to His Son!
I am so so so Thankful for the Giver of all!
She guides, she smiles, she invites
Hearts to hope, to relish her light
She inspires, she admires, she stirs
Compassion and joy, precious wonders
Unfolding in the spirit of those who listen
To the treasure of her gift, her brilliance
The way she soothes and calms
The wonder of her grace, her mercy
The miracle of her unconditional love
She is creativity, vision, the muse
Flames of passion in hues so beautiful
They motivate the imagination
Free spirits from stagnation, smile
Music into the lives of those who listen
To her brave silence, her invitation
To heavenly stillness, the quiet of moon
The light of truth – as stars shimmer
Rivers tremble, almost spiritual, uplifting
Calming the senses, so reassuring, heartening
She is gifted, like the soul’s sister
Releasing every resentment to the past
Where it fades into the shadows
As healing blends away the doubts
Preparing the spirit for the healing
That comes to those who hear her words
Her life-giving, life-changing verses
Poetry from the spirit, the feelings
Rhythms of grace, so compelling, fulfilling
Awakening the burning sensations, the stirring
Intimacy so amazing, the kiss of affection
Poured into the one who listens to her
She is acquainted with fear and pain
Yet she remains unchanged, a blessing
Wisdom delights in the faithful
Finds strength, even in weakness
Never doubts, but always commends
The one who hears her with a faithful ear
The one who needs her more than their suspicions
The one who knows her as God’s gift, His teacher…
Wisdom is the soul’s preacher!
1 Corinthians 1 (KJV)
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
