Premium Member Catness

It’s a Saturday afternoon worth waiting for. It’s 52°f and the sky is clear except for a scattering of popcorn clouds. I’m eating lunch with Sophy, Lisa, Anna (my roommates) and Peter (a friend) at one of the two residential dining halls that have the best pizza (yeah, you KNOW who you are).

We’re touching base before we scatter, shrapnel like, for the night. I’ll be hemmed-up by circumstance and in my most diligent work-mode. I have a presentation due Monday.

Sophy says, reading from at her laptop, “Research suggests that cat owners are seen as better looking and have more sex.”

“I have two cats,” I say, “at home.” I preen in my double-catness.

“I’m a cat owner!” Anna announces.

“My cat DIED.” Lisa reveals sadly.

“THAT cat did its JOB,” Sophy pronounced saliently, as if proof for the study.

“I grew up in a cat house,” Peter says.

“Ooo! YOU must have learned a LOT!” I say, batting my eyes seductively.

“Maybe we should get a cat HERE!” Sophy suggests.

“To cement our status!” Anna laughs.

The pizza was really good.

Static Water

Morning stands up like giant in front of me, and the dogs are running like wild goose in the street, the sun is out in full force and the trees are waving in the breeze without a doubt, nothing dynamics is happening, and I feel the hunger for a good rhythm; families are torn apart and the children are left scrambling in the dark. I have searched high and low for another song to sing, but I just could not find the right rhythm.

I sat over the keyboard all night, but my imagination puts up a stubborn fight; and so I took a walk in the pitch black night, and alas the universe was asleep, and for the first time I could feel my spirit weep, for the souls trapped in the deep dying to get out, so they roam the open ground and wander around the fountain in the city, trying to make the world happy. But one man in his time must change the plan and go all the way out in the land and when the dialogue won’t do, the bullets and the guns will see you through.

You have one foot in and one foot out, but you must clear away all the doubt; you must storm the earth by surprise and evoke the living and the dead sacrifice. There is no more time to play around, and you must turn the galaxy around; there is no crown or big gowns waiting for you and nice words cannot do. You must change the plan to move along on the land. The British have the best sea men, and you must work with them to get the operation to heaven.

The global economy is feeling the strain, and you must take precise actions to end the naval games. You have to go all the way in and commit an abominable sin. There comes a time when the plates must turn down, so that the universe can move around.

Many more will die and many more will have to cry, many more will live in the street, until the mission is complete. If negotiation doesn't work, you have to get the bulldozer and start digging up dirt. The situation room is waiting for you, and the general will tell you wat to do.

You must end the stalemate and crush the head of the snake that is lurking around the gate. Open the gate and pour out the sour wine and nature will thrust them to their knees, and the mission will abruptly complete.
Open the canal and let the static water flow.

Forgive and Forget

Forgive and forget (Duet)

(She sings)	Verse 1
When we first met,
There were sparks…
I won’t forget…
But lately….
it’s hard to remember...
For years it was miraculous,
Everything we did, was all for us...
But…the chill came in December

Bridge (She sings)

I know we’ve got a lot to learn,
How to stoke the fire, and make it burn
We can make it feel alright,
We’ve got all night

Chorus (They sing)

There are times and seasons,
There are seasons left for us.
Spring, summer and fall,
The winter’s worst of all
Can’t you hear love’s echo call?
We might have to strain to hear,
But, the message’ loud and clear
This is as bad as it gets,
but…let’s forgive and forget
This is as bad as it gets, but…
let’s forgive and forget

(He sings) Verse 2

I too have felt the chilling air,
That’s wedged itself between us...
But…I still cling to hope...
Time may have changed both of us,
But we still have the best of us,
Let’s hold on and not let go!

(He sings) Bridge

I know we’ve got a lot to learn,
How to stoke the fire, and make it burn
We can make it feel alright,
We’ve got all night

Chorus
There are times and seasons,
There are seasons left for us.
Spring, summer and fall,
The winter’s worst of all
Can’t you hear love’s echo call?
We might have to strain to hear,
But, the message’ loud and clear
This is as bad as it gets,
but…let’s forgive and forget
This is as bad as it gets,
but…let’s forgive and forget

Chorus repeat fade

Premium Member The Story of Gentle Wise Woman

Gentle Wise Woman put on her embroidered priestess robes.
It was the evening of the Ulc Cycle Moon.
She carefully laid out her table in the most mystical way she could remember.
Like her grandmother and her grandmother’s grandmother.
Being the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter
Insured even if she did it wrong, she would be right.

She carefully selected the items for her table.
A bowl of spring water, a sprig of violet leaf, amethyst and agate.
A beautiful green luna moth fluttered past, his eyes winking at her.
She felt loved by the forest, more than ever.
Thank you Mother Moon, she said.
The forest was dark, but there was no fear.
She felt joy.

The last item selected was her rune pouch.
She shook three runes out, and studied them.
Her young daughter who had been watching asked “What do they say?”
Her voice was a whisper. She was in awe of her amazingly mystical mother.
“That you will have the best life ever,” her mother assured her.
Laurel was young and innocent at six.
She was not about to give her this kind of prophecy.

She would find out soon enough.
Sadness could begin tomorrow.
This was a night for joy, a night to
Commune with spirit.
She felt her grandmother coming for her.
They would dance under the willows until morning.

Premium Member Be Happy In Your Own Skin

Be so busy counting your blessings,
You haven't got time to count curses;
For it seems the more you notice them,
They tend to get bigger and worsen.

Be happy for the things you've got,
Content within your lot;
For though you may not have the best,
To some you've got a lot.

Don't covet what your neighbor has,
Envy his lot in life,
For we all have our cross to bear,
And everyone has strife.

Greed and lust are demons, my friend,
Urging you to add more to your pot,
And if you listen you'll find in the end,
That they've stolen all that you've got.

Be happy for the way you look.
Be happy from the outside in.
Be grateful for all you call your own.
Be happy in your own skin.

Premium Member SUNSET ON A MOUNTAIN TOP

We think we have the best of both worlds…
we get to watch the sun set over the ocean…
watch as into the water it slowly drops…
And we also get to watch it set…into the horizon
from on a mountain top.

There are many things we love about sunsets…
A few of them I’ll name…
One is how in a lifetime of watching them
no two sunsets are the same.

Another thing we love is how we’re totally aware…
a sunset is not meant for us alone…it is something that we share.

Because the sun we are watching…that announces the day is done…
across the world (accounting for time zones)
that same sun is setting on everyone.

A third thing we love about the sun as in the sky it slowly sets..
is how it has a tendency to bring people together…people who’ve never met.

Who come together wherever they are…as the day is about to end
and who, as they share a sunset, for a moment…become friends.

Yesterday on a mountain top as we watched the sun set
(We chose a spot away from all the excitement and the fuss)
a couple from Wilmington, North Carolina…sat down next to us.

A young couple…and before the sunset was done…
We were sharing stories of our lives and what brought us there to watch the sun.

It was a beautiful moment…shared with two people there and then
Who, in all likelihood, we will never see again.

Yes, there is so much to be gained watching the sunset
which is why we’ll never stop…
whether we’re standing on the shore next to the ocean
or high on a mountain top.

The Temple

The most holy have called out to the Lord
Lord we have assembled the best engineers
We are with our hands gonna build
A temple to the sky
With the strongest walls to withstand any storm
We have the best architects
That will put idols on the outside
Doors and corners to resist evil
It will be as beautiful as a museum inside
Many will come to see and admire with their eyes
Surely you would not have to walk far
To come and dwell with us
We only have one concern
Would you like it if we
Played loud music and danced around
Or be still and sing a hymn
It is by God's
Grace,Mercy, and Love
He has not kicked earth as a soccer ball
For there is nothing with our hands
We can build to satisfy the Lord
Heaven is his throne
And earth is his footstool
God sent his son
And watched him die a criminals death
The only temple that pleases the father
Is his creation man
And those that believe his son came and died
and rose again in 3 days and defeated death
For when we believe and call out
For God to save us
He will clean out the inside
Then the outside will begin to show
Jesus came so that
He might come and dwell in the hearts
And put the laws in our mind
He wants to be revealed
In the temple
He has created without hands
But with the spirit of fire
That circumsizes the flesh from man
And gives a new body
That by his grace
He might make us acceptable
To the Father

Premium Member 'where It All Begun'

We reminisced about years long gone tonight
and one thing became crystal clear,
that even with the hardships
and all the madness
we became adults that can keep our heads high -

We didn't have the best of everything
tough times and mistakes made
didn't keep us down
it never determined who we'd be

All the high school drama of
stay a ways and walk outs
could have made us falter
the guys and their strawberry house
the girls and their adult movies

We can laugh about the madness now
they are all fond memories
all part of what makes us the adults we are today

I salute you guys for never giving up
for being the best you can be
because you came from humbled beginnings
and you never forgot where everything started...

Hence your appreciation for the blessings today!

*Inspired by a get together with some of my high school friends*

Premium Member Come To the Wild Horse Stallion

If you are having trouble conceiving, come down to the Wild Horse
We have a drink guaranteed to loosen you up, which will let you relax.
We cannot guarantee a child within nine months, of course.
But we have six gentlemen who will share their honest facts.

They each had trouble getting their wives in the family way.
Then they came down and had our magic elixir, which cannot be beat.
They now each go home to a family of five at the end of each day.
Some boys, some girls, and a wife who is grateful and sweet.

A secret, so you have to come to the back door and give two knocks.
We only share it with men who can show twenty dollars in the keyhole.
When you get home, amorous attentions will get rid of all sexual blocks.
Attentions will be on you, and your wife will not in any way say “whoa!”

This baby making elixir is fine, and only sold for a limited time.
You will have the best child that money can barely almost buy.
Does this sound worth twenty dollars and one small dime?
Why not come to the Wild Horse and give our magic potion a try?

What is the purpose of your visit young man?

I heard that you have the best marmalade in the world

Well we do import oranges but you look a bit foreign to us

I am a seasoned voyager look at the stickers on my case

That is what we are worried about just making sure you are not a friend of Islam

Just a travelling tourist Sir and I am not a criminal communist either

The usual hassle ensued at the border post and the police enjoyed its authority

It gave them power and a reason to be with nothing better than a bit of control

Made Britain great again and ruling over waves of incomers called for respect

Open your bag we can sniff drugs and destruction because your skin is so dark

It is called mixed complexion blame the Spanish because I am from Peru

I can offer you some tales from my journeys to take home for the kids

Bribery won’t work and now trap your dirty snout while we consider your entry

You must be trafficking something and have come here to infest and destroy us

Don’t like your sort and you are too big for your camouflage Wellington boots

But my papers are in order please look at the stamp in my passport

I have been to the world back and beyond and now you give me grief

If you don’t keep your gob shut we must send you straight back to the jungle

Not before we blessed your pigmented pelt with a firm handout from true justice

I may look a tad scruffy to you but people come in all shapes and sizes

Small I may be and yet I can fill hearts with joy and kind exotic delight

Diversity had died very long ago and the Empire had suffered a solar eclipse

The guard’s hearts had sclerosed from an onslaught of ignorance and regulation

Luckily Paddington had a duffel coat and hat to keep him warm while detained
