The New Year is approaching
But I’m not prepared
Emotions that are torturing me
Have left me in despair
The months are moving forward
But I have not fulfilled
My hopes are frozen solid
The fantasies congealed
Will I acquire happiness
Will I remain the same
And will get the riches
And happiness I claim
The thoughts are battling inside of me
Not granting me reprieve
As days are flying past me
The forsaken wishes that I grieve
And life’s accelerating
But I am getting by
My goals are hopes are waiting
And I am wondering why
So may be the New Year will finally reveal
And manifest my destiny
And my aspirations will not appear surreal
Madness, the Hatter blinks.
Madness, Oz's link.
Repercussions of concussions.
Madness was Portnoy's complaint**,
Madness must reciprocate!
Hallucinations filter by....
Leary* winks at Dali's eye.
A house lands on Dorothy's thighs...
Chicken Little wanders by.
"Madness," Hitler's honcho’s sneer.
Madness splices genes with fear.
"Lobotomize!" becomes the cheer.
Kellogg’s* enema's find waiting rears.
"Are you the ass? Or is it me?
Have I ears and a nose? What do you see?"
"Hehawww," said Pinocchio's friends.
"Heeehaw," said Darwin* back again.
Round and round went Steven Hawkings*.
"Madness," said Lenore's raven* squawking.
"Madness," said Einstein* in a blink.
"Reciprocate!," said the missing link.

I am a broken man without a home*,
My teeth don't feel right... and I sometimes shake.
There is a difference, now that you are gone.
Of all these, only pain keeps me awake:
Sunsets, cold breezes, heat, and pain, and time...
Of all of these, just pain keeps me awake!
I have a scurvy mood, and there's no lime...
And I am dumb and blind and full of ache.
...And yet, I dream, and Live and Love to Sing!
I go outside, am struck! I can't stay numb!
I pray like Joy's my only steadfast thing!
I bleed, and hurt, stumble... my Voice goes dumb...
But none of these can equal your sweet Smile!
And so, I'll stop, and SEE it, for a while!
*NOTE: For Honesty's sake: I am not homeless, AF
My brain is on holiday
Sure wish it would alert me
I'm cruising along having a ball
Then WHAM!!!
“Sorry, I'm on holiday”
Doesn't happen often to me
But when it does, I freak out
What if in my remaining years
I never write another poem
Yikes! What a calamity that would be
Still got lots to write about
I think I have... I know I have... I'm sure I have
But what happened???
Something is short circuiting my thought box
Write the first line, then scrap it
Write the first line, then scrap it
Write the first line, then scrap it
Help!!! Someone please tell me what to do
Have the “thought police” intervened
Have I exceeded yearly the word count already
It's only April!
Please oh great overseer of verboseness
If I have exceeded my limited
Can I buy extra words for the year
I'll pay big dollars...

FRAGRANCE OF LOVE
From deep within my heart
I can’t let myself apart
from you! My Darling,
craving my yearnings!
I am drinking desires of dormant dream
with emerald emotion rushing extreme,
ever flowing in opulence
towards your ecstatic essence.
I always catch the scent:
Whenever you had sent.
I can’t help,
I can’t escape
but restore in my self.
Your love I can never forget
but honor as my best asset.
Lovely life now to allure.
Even if death to face
Happily I will embrace:
Rest assured.
Not to repent
as I have had my achievement.
Those golden days, again I wish to capture,
Still sending romantic aroma in random rapture.
I am bound to follow your fragrance.
Compelled to sink in your deep dense glance
that embowered me absolute in cosy corner not by chance.
To leave that nook, I neither do wish nor do venture.
I am flooded in your ardent amour
sensing your glory and grace yet in glamour.
No way but simply to surrender
and to float in odour of love lavender
settling in abyss of your soul, serene sublime
humming melody of love in style of hymn.

Rhyme Rumi Quote
Third Place
Contest by by Sotto Poet
We were so close to forever
Close enough to believe it was ours,
To speak in tomorrows
Like they were already promised.
I let you become my routine,
My quiet, my constant the one place
I didn't have to hold myself together.
We built something that felt permanent,
and maybe that was the lie
because forever
doesn't unravel this easily.
But you left in pieces,
in slower replies,
in conversations that stopped meaning anything,
until I was the only one
still trying to hold us up.
And the worst part?
You didn't take everything with you.
You left your voice in my head, your absence in my days, and a version of me that still waits for you like you're just late, not gone.
We were so close to forever
and now I have to live
with what it feels like
to be almost chosen.
THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST
What does it mean
to be good? Smile,
serve and love, but
what does it mean
when under your skin
it is raw and meaningless?
Do you hand out benefits…
do they say
“You're as good as gold?”
Do they take your paper,
chew your food? Doesn’t
the bible tell you
not to crave a ruler’s delicacies?
But isn’t it good to be
in the high back chair…?
What does it mean to be good?
Is it to live by today’s standards?
Sin is defined as “missing the mark” -
the arrow can be all around, even close
to the center, but unless it is in the center
you have lost. Even when you do good.
Yes, you can do good to mankind,
but it is meaningless unless
you are covered with the divine -
the Spirit of the living God
gained when you believe
in Jesus Christ and receive
that same Spirit that raised
Christ from the dead. Unless
you do that your good works
are dead. It profits you nothing
to look good to man who perishes
like the morning dew. The good news?
It’s not too late to give
your life to him. By the way -
he owns the whole estate
and his saints will be blessed
for all eternity. Why wait?!
If it was gold, you’d sell all
to seek it. You need to speak it -
believe in your heart,
confess with your tongue
that Jesus Christ is Lord,
carry your cross and follow him.
There is nothing here on earth to lose.
There is everything in eternity to gain.

There is a place called Coragoon,
where the dragonlings, make you swoon;
so cute and cuddly are they,
that you will want to stay and play.
Coragoon has many creatures;
it’s full of fun, abundant leisure;
you can romp with rabbit clans
or eat candy-pizza, from a pan.
The faeries there will do your hair,
all fancy-free, without a care;
a hobbit you may chance to see,
but from you shyly, he may flee.
In the misty moonlight’s beams,
silver threads of magic streams;
cascading down like spider webs,
the light waves there, flow and ebb.
Should you see a yellow fox,
he’ll have to knit you golden socks;
they are rather shy, you see,
unlike the common bumble bees.
Off into the Maltese skies,
on dragonlings, you will fly;
with funnel clouds like tilt-a-whirls,
spewing generous, crystal pearls.
A joyous rain that sprinkles down,
on Coragoon’s little village towns;
go catch the raindrops on your tongue,
Coragoon’s strictly for the young.
Go cross that bridge and play all day,
keeping childhood fears, at bay;
Joyous elation, you will see,
hidden in those emerald trees.
I am from nature therefore I am nature if I destroy nature I destroy myself.
She spins not just for me she lives for the bird and the bee
When spring comes I delight at the folding of the leaves
As summer sets in motion I hardly take the time to catch the delights
Autumn sends me into despair, wait I thought there was plenty light left
As winter approaches I appreciate how birth comes from death
My senses come alive in the forest
I must remember that all connect as one
Don't forget to have some fun
Spring will soon breath again
Lend a hand don't be dragged down by the illusion
She is not all negativity
Believe not all that you hear positivity abounds
Listen to the energy enjoy the silence
Senseless plans will not fruit
Place your trust in a deeper root
To the politicians do not salute
They dance like the pied piper with his golden flute
As I walk bare foot I hear a voice
Come she says follow me I will carry you when evening comes.
Little Kinley Raine warrior of light,
When you came into this world
You came in ready to fight.
Our thoughts were full of Prayers
hoping for you to have a chance,
Although we were on a mental coaster
We held our ground with a positive stance.
After a Month God decided it was to soon
for you to stay with us and bloom,
It's hard for all of us but we understand
other plans were in-store for you.
My little niece meeting you was a pleasure,
I wish we could've spent more time together.
Kinley we love you and miss your adorable
face, When you get a chances to sneak away
come back down here and give us a spiritual
Embrace. R.I.P Kinley Raine.
