Fragrant Promise

Nascent pristine hopes sprout stealthily
from the submerged swamps of anxieties,
     parched earth frets over consequences
to fuel naive hopes into realities of void
burdened with the clutter of aged promises,
fervent wind denies hope to flourish
effervescence of faith sustains the sapling.
I shiver at my failed encounters,
           lost desires from broken promises;
you radiate truth with a divine Aurora
calming my perturbed oceans of scars,
        soothing whispers dissolving delusions.
Your promise of a love that lasts forever
blooms with my infant hope born yet again
in my ancient orchard of disappointments,
perhaps hope is an everlasting promise too.
When my hallucinations overtake my existence
you bridge my fantasies with visible world
and fuse my bliss with your intuition.
     Unfulfilled promises, superfluous allegations
in a world where none volunteers to be a promise.
You erase my hazy visions of torn pages
and color them with your dripping love.
Two parallel waves in unison moving forth
rising with crests and falling with troughs
merging in the tranquility of a shore afar
next to the ocean enchanted by seagulls
guiding my lost spirit in storms with your light.
My hopes have grown into a lush fir tree
  swaying with your glistening smiles.
You become my universe peeking into imaginations
      of my stories, melodies, musings at nights;
and when I return to reality you wait
with my sublime corner by your side,
my book of musings flourishes by your essence.
Perhaps humans should keep their promises,
I believe theirs too get fulfilled someday.
I smile every time the fir tree drenches me
dissolving the fragrance of musk-soaked love
in raindrops and snowflakes of your promise--
To be the love that retains the existence of
everlasting hope in this world-- your promise..

Foreseen

and your young men shall see visions and your
                  old men shall dream dreams.
                                                    —Acts 2:17

She stood unflinching,
a silver figure in the heart of a waterfall.

I gazed in wonder
my frail form shaken by the roar.
A winged lion flew out of the raging rapids
its outstretched claws plucking me off a high ledge.

Carried upon a disappearing sky
I thought of my son
how he foresaw this dream of mine.

Now in my infirmity she returns to me
incased in an argent fire.
I knew then that we had delivered a child
who's spirit would melt this iron kingdom
and I then must dwindle away.

Your mother has grown younger
you are ageless.
Now you look from a shining mirror
seeking an aged
                              long spilled seed.

Premium Member BUTTERFLIES, CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN

We recently purchased and planted milkweed…not only is it pleasing to the eye
but we had the intention, with the milkweed, of attracting monarch butterflies.

We planted them in our back yard because we didn’t want to miss
one day, one moment…once stage…of their metamorphosis.

There is nothing more beautiful in nature than to see with our own eyes
The transformation from egg, to caterpillar to chrysalis…and finally butterfly.

As we watched this wonder of nature…from our front row, ringside view…
we couldn’t help thinking about our own children…and our grandchildren too.

From inside the womb, where they were lovingly carried until they saw the light…
to when they crawled around like caterpillars…eating everything in sight.

From the chrysalis stage they exited grown up and mature…all in the blink of an eye…
to when they finally spread their wings and they began to fly.

Our children and grandchildren went through their own metamorphosis…
and now that they are grown
we see each has developed a unique personality…and a beauty all their own….

Every stage was vital as they transformed right before our eyes…
something they share in common…with the monarch butterflies.

Premium Member Satellites

The planets in our system
We have grown to call our own
Circling in their Orbit
Satellites near our home
Typical of us to assume
That they belong to you and i
But us Humans tend to grab, everything we spy

We have even divided the moon
How do we know its for us to say
There was no Lunar agenda
That i remember to this day
We just made the rules
And divided our Satellite
Just trying to figure it out
Who actually thought, that was right

Maybe our Earths a Stat
To become a Satellite
Are there more intelligent beings
Who may share with us that's right
Until we get that greeting
We are a sleeping Satellite

Still Loving You

The amnesia of you tries
                         to live in me...
                         Erase our splendid memories ...
                         I'm afraid to forget
                         those astonish moments ...
                         I realize that the happiness
i held one day I will not have
                         again ...
                          Life has betrayed us,
and I cry for your absence ...
                          I miss your laugh,
                          even the screams when
                          in disagreements ...
                          We parted without
                          farewell without
                          I love you, without
                         "we will meet again"...
                           I'd love having had known
                           you best...
I would love to have grown
with you ... stay by your side
                           forever ...
                            But we were not allowed.
                            Your presence
                             so fleeting still lives
                              in me and in this
                              unbalanced life... your
                              missing figure still
serves me as a guide ...!

When war mulls over

An illicit child that none who so wants,
Child of incest, if world’s one family—
A truth to no warmongers ever haunts,
And to which all here are reconciled with.

Grown in the wombs of deep-dwelling desires,
I’m nourished by ambition’s burning fire,
Born one day, burst forth from a stubborn maw,
I devour first those that raised me on birth,
As terror, I hit all the watching eyes,
With loud laugh I blow up all ears that hear,
Caught by throat, all talking tongues go speechless,
I feel, I am on way to victory…

And yet I know, truth never is with guns:
When so I see a blood-dipping body,
I feel defeated nigh, forever done,
When see someone hugging a gasping flesh,
I feel defeated again by my gun,
When tender sprouts crop up to soothe land’s wounds
Caused by the enemy’s raging missiles,
I feel defeated in eyes of heaven,
Amidst collapsed buildings’ clear opening,
When see footsteps of innocent children,
I feel defeated then and all but done,
Defeated oh by my very own gun…

And vague, delayed wisdom dawns unto me:
Can I ever defeat immortal life?
Phoenix-like that rises from ash of death
That hath a religion, nor ever creed.

Mrs Hechtman's Roses

Mrs. Hechtman lived next door
And when her roses bloomed,
She always brought us a bouquet
To keep our house perfumed.

The blossoms, of the palest pink,
Were dangerously thorned
Yet in my mother’s crystal vase,
They kept our house adorned.

I sometimes helped as Mrs. Hechtman
Chose which buds to snip,
A grown-up chore that caused my heart
To swell with pride and skip.

Those roses hadn’t crossed my mind
For many, many years
But when a memory’s that deep,
It seldom disappears.

A garden that I passed today
Brought Mrs. Hechtman back,
Her snipping scissor in her hand,
The stems all in a stack.

A sweeter bunch of flowers
Never sat upon my table.
I’d thank dear Mrs. Hechtman –
Ah, if only I were able.

Premium Member Fear

It hides in the dark;
lingers in the unknown.
Ignorance and imagination
are the foods on which it’s grown.

Paralyzing its victims,
right before it strikes;
Causing intelligent people
to do foolish things
when deeply it does bite.

It harbors no prejudice;
it will embrace almost everyone.
Those who say they never feel it -
are sometimes brave,
and sometimes dumb.

It’s inside of the old
and the young, just alike;
Around any corner
it could be lurking -
posing, ready to strike.

A loud noise;
A sudden movement;
Lets you know that it’s inside –
Tragic events
and unwanted outcomes
from which we cannot hide.

Some day you will face it –
some of us,
more than others;
It’ll make even the
strongest of men
cry again for their mothers.

Knowledge can tame it some;
Confidence, keep it down;
But don’t be fooled
into believing
it will never come around.

When it comes,
you can try
to look it in the eye;
But let’s be clear,
when it’s near
you will feel the FEAR.

                     Fear is happily discarded
                 All household doors open, left
                  To bring fragrance of garden

                 Trials and tribulations happen

Freedom's breadth calls me to protect it
Outside doctrine, it's me I trust

The Place Where Dreams Go To Die

I know of a place
it's not very far
just knowing it's there makes me cry

There's a road going in
so heavily traveled
it's the place where dreams go to die

Too many people
have visited there
that graveyard of ideas and hopes

Their last respects paid
they leave broken hearted
and bound by invisible ropes

For they had grown weary
of deep disappointments
and losing the joy they once knew

And battered and bruised
they silently wept
believing their dreams won't come true

The graves are unkempt there
grown over with weeds
and the wreckage of lives gone to waste

What drove those who go
to that sad destination
has such a familiar taste

I wish I had never
found my way here
I've been down this road once or twice

In searching for peace
I've let go of dreams
and that is a costly price

So take it from me
Turn back while you can
You’ve no further need to ask why

Live your life to the full
And never return
To the place where dreams go to die
