Start by warming up daily
with hands lifted in praise.
Running and jumping in
place as the spirit moves.
Drop and give God sixty
Sixty minutes in prayer that is!
This work out is especially good
for the heart as it will strengthen
and bring about eternal life.
Endurance training begins with walking
the straight and narrow.
Mountain climbing after a long walk
in the valley is also highly recommended.
Begin a weight training program by carrying
his cross and increase to carrying burdens for others!
Such training is excellent for preparing for the final
foot race to Glory!
Results will be felt and seen immediately if
soreness or pain are experienced apply a generous
amount of the Balm of Gilead.
Remember to rest often by leaning on Jesus, and
cool off with showers of blessings.
Before beginning an exercise program always
consult with the Great Physician.
The early years of her life seemed riddled with emotional scares;
but in time, though she had no sign of any timelines, she would heal.
She came from a long line of rain forests, forests that had no rain
to enable them to produce balms, salves, and healing medicines.
To her answer to the ever resounding question of, "Is there no balm
in Gilead? Is there no physician there?*; there always came an
answer of seeming hopelessness from the mouth of a big wide-eyed owl,
"No, No, No! Never, never!" Throughout that barren forest were paths
paved with fear, doubt, worry, mistrust, and disbelief. It was such a path of unfairness destined to be navigated by a most innocent one as Angelica;
and she fertilized that unseemly and unfriendly pathway with years of pain and shame. But unlike millions who treaded that same path of hostility
and terror, Angelica refused to succumb to the repeated assaults and reached the Eastern end of the forestry where awaiting her was a beautiful
chirping bird, the likes of which was never seen in life or dream. Every soul soothing chirp drew her closer, as the language of that life saving bird
revealed these words: "This Way My Love, where your every experience will be as harmless as a dove".

*Jeremiah 8:22
The book most influential to me
is one that was divinely sent
written by puritan Thomas Watson
‘the art of divine contentment’
It changed my mind completely overnight
bringing an inward peace so unknown
for before being filled with many fears
never known contentment as heart of stone
This was a real learning curve
getting to grips with my inner heart
receive God’s grace to powerfully effect
just like a sharp piercing dart
This contentment is a blessed thing
holds one together in a settled calm
makes me able to withdraw all
so settled and firm with Gilead like balm
Be content such important lesson
fill the mind with this so true
so thankful for this great book
read it again soon this I must do
(‘the most influential book upon me has been ‘the art of divine contentment’ by the puritan Thomas Watson so this is my thoughts upon its effect’)
The warrior Jephthah was a son of Gilead.
His mother was a prostitute; this was deemed quite bad.
The brothers did not consider Jephthah family.
None of Gilead’s inheritance was he to see.
To the land of Tob, Jephthah and followers would flee.
Some years later, Israel was involved in some fights.
They were encroached upon by neighboring Ammonites.
Elders summoned Jephthah to lead the Israelites.
This is how he responded to the Gileadites:
“Now that you are in trouble, you are calling me back.
You want me to lead to stem the enemy’s attack.
If you let me return, will you make me Head of State?
If I defeat your enemies at a future date?”
The elders of the Gileadites answered this way:
“As the Lord is our witness, we will do as you say.
Lead us in our stand to drive the enemy away”.
Therefore, the new leader of the people was Jephthah.
He repeated his words before the Lord in Mizpah.
It was here the Lord came to appear before Jephthah.
He made this vow with God after passing Manasseh:
“My Lord God, if You deliver Ammon to my hands,
I will make a burnt offering to all your demands.
Whatever passes through the front door of my dwelling
shall be offered to You for the victory you bring.”
Jephthah overwhelmed twenty towns of the enemy.
Ammon would be defeated for a great victory.
However, Jephthah’s return proved not to be so sweet.
Here came his only daughter out of the house to greet.
“Oh my daughter, I have made a pact I cannot break.
My only child, it is your life that I must forsake!”
She replied, “My father, I know it is the Lord’s will.
I am here for the obligation you must fulfill.
However, grant me this request before my life ends,
allow me to weep in the hills with some of my friends.”
For two months, Jephthah’s daughter and friends would go away.
This became a custom among girls up to this day.
From the Book of Judges in the Old Testament
I ran to my garden alone today.
Ignoring the steps of repentance
blast through the temple of grace
As if in no need of perfect acceptance
or compassionate heavenly embrace.
Skipping the small rain of wisdom
without proper instruction in peace.
I pushed open the gate of remembrance in anger
seeking justification, for my rage of blame...
What had I hoped to find in this place?
What was the need for my haste?
Ignoring the promise of assurance and love
I sought respite from my sin and disgrace.
Then I heard the voice of my beloved Lord
Sweetly whisper to my enraged heart.
Biding me to stop and listen again.
"I am the Balm of Gilead,
Walk with me in your garden of faith.
Take my hand my chosen one
peace is made perfect in me."
He led me to another garden
I had not passed through here before.
It was so quiet, the gentle warm wind,
calmed the torrent within.
As the fragrance flowers surrounded me
And floral colors I had never seen
I felt this calm and refreshment
opened my soul to peace again.
“Where is this garden,” I asked my Lord?
Where is this place that I may return
when have I brought disgrace to all around me?
and need to hide again?”
His broad smile reached into my broken heart,
His forgiveness washed my soul clean.
“Run,” said my Lord, “Run as fast as you can.
I will always be waiting for you.
This is the garden I have built
from your love and devotion to me.”
Nevermore
gently tapping
at my chamber door
came this bird
as one word..
the word seemed to say
not your old booklore
not some visitor
not the darkness there
not the whispered name..
but simply perching
and waiting..this word in
my silence..terrified..
I sat on my cushion
with my imaginings
with my memories
some perfumed..
and the word repeated
not these..not these..
a question arose
of biblical import
and in desperation
I implored about the
balm in Gilead..?
the word repeated..
upstarted I demanded
departure..leaving my
loneliness unbroken..
and even to this
the word repeated..
the word still sits
above my chamber door
awaiting my waking
from my life in shadow
floating on the floor...

Jequetha’s Storm
Early one morning, Jequetha, sat listening to naughty by nature lyrics.
She knew that it was a special day, for she saw her sign in the night sky.
She was forlorn by the sounds which she heard around her.
Sad sounds of men and women in pain, inflicting wounds self doubt in retaliation.
And the screams of children crying out for the earth.
And she began to pray, “Mama Mary!! Black Mama who guides my steps! I feel a
storm comin’! Make it right Mama!! Make it right!”
And as the tears ran down her face, she knew she had a place in the beginnings
of things.
And her mother came into her room and said, “Baby, you’s gon’ bring the
whirlwind!!”
“Cause there’s mad men who done gone crazy and they believe that troops can
solve the cracks and sores deep within. But you will be a balm, baby!! For
Gilead shines through you. And because of you the world will know of God’s
mercy. For God’s angry, but God’s love too !! God’s love too!”
And Jequetha rose up and ran out into the night stars begging the forces of day
to force the stars to shine brighter, for lighter days are coming.”
Lighter days are coming, for storms are not always the end, but sometimes the
beginning.
Innocent men dying on crosses are nothing new.
Innocent men on rows of death sentences scream out to the cosmos for a
requiem.
And God smiles, for many think they know the one! But they shun the son, who
built the sun.
Fast and Pray, that’s what the angels say.
Cause a storm is comin’!
For sons and daughters shall prophecy and the birds will fly in formations of war
against black widows weaving webs of deceptions.
For all tyrants will know the heat of honest requiem.
And all valleys will be brought high, through the songs of Yoruba angels shouting
Metakayase.
Buddhist Christian prophets rise from the south and come west.
Bipolar warriors heal with profligate abandon.
And University Deans step into the war zone, to bring the scent of victory.
I tell you a storm is coming!!
And it shall be wondrous!!
And it shall change the face of clone armies of greed, feending for the next nut, to
spew relentless jism over single mothers working 3 jobs.
For sons and daughters shall prophecy and the world will know revolution.
ENDLESS LOVE
Tell me
What burns with a
Great flame that an
Inferno, yet benign
And consumes not?
Tell me
What shines with a
Dazzling brightness than
The glare of the sun
Yet as tender as
The moon and
Divulges no flaw?
Tell me
What shelters more from
The beset of gale of fate
And salves more than
The balm of gilead?
Tell me
What could be more
Tender than
Cosset of myriads
Of lovers?
Roses are beautiful
But wilts.
Tell me what
Could be so beautiful
And wilts not?
A pearl, diamond is.
And forever lasts, but
To theft it subjects
Tell me
What pearl
Forever lasts and
Thieving hands
Defies?
I tell you nothing,
Nothing than mothers
Endless love
It wilts not.
My love, as ointment poured out is your name.
as odors, sweet, and spices, rich and rare,
does its fair sound rejoice the waves of air.
The fragrance filled the house when Mary came
to kneel at Jesus' feet, her love aflame,
the alabaster box spilled out, her hair,
the towel with which she wiped away His care;
so now this room is scented by your name.
The Balm of Gilead alone excels
the mollifying virtue your name gives;
there is no thing about you which repels,
for what you are is all that to me lives;
and, He and you, intertwined, my gospel
are, which two my soul's salvation give.

TEARS OF AN ANGEL (part 1)
Obscurity of a Roman god of love
Painted in clouds with arrows and bows
Brandished baby cherub on a messengers mission
Before the folding off of this sheet
Thought of what a being I envision
Till I transited into this vivid ravishing vision
To shut the world behind this trance-like bars
Over this walls lies envy, hate and mockery
Take the solely route where men are left alone with you
To wrestle with the guard, the palm that bears me
Only to find broken wings, saturated
Tattered screams, not overrated,
That screeched into days,
Tears that heals as the balm in Gilead
And salty droplets like crystals.
She's stuck on earth, unable to levitate
Despair of a divinity. Is this why she cries?
The cherub made of fire and light
To serve me and excel in strengths,
Strengths that once failed me
But here you are; couldn't even go up the sky
To get me water from the clouds
When am soul thirsty and weary.
Your tears is all I drink now
Cascading from the windows of lofty hills
What have you endured
To draw this water upon your cheeks?
The hurting of humanity is disheartening,
The suffering and the anguish
Are like flames that can not be extinguished
You fell out of the height of understanding
Wondering the wayward ways of men:
Why we persecute and execute instead of succor
Why we kill rather than heal,
Why we hate instead of love,
Why we envy rather than appreciate,
Since we are created by Love, for Love and to Love,
Instead we molest and rape (you)
All because of beauty, body and our lust
Rain you drenched in watery shame.
