Robin Redbreast

Spring is here, and the robins appear
With morning and evening song in the air.

A robin redbreast perched in a tree
Sings a song for his lady bird-to-be,
Undeterred, as he awaits her answer,
Crescendoing to drown out the others.
His heart afire, his senses alert,
He preens his feathers between the chirps
And breathes deep as his chest puffs out;
Then, music vocals produced by the syrinx
Flow out from his bill, calling to his sweetheart
In refrains to arouse her curiosity.

And if successful, she’ll fly in his direction
To check out his worthiness and description.

One's head
In the hands
Sailing an ocean
Of dreams
I begin drawing
The perfect picture

Searching the horizon
Waves of emotions
Flow out
to someone
Playing a song
An unsung melody

Plays a tune
From the
deepest organ
If I could
buy you
one world
In giving
to you
My everything

Romeo must bleed
Flowing down
Humbled ink
From the deepest well
on paper
Poor but rich
With love

One soul
See's far beyond
All materials
Drawing
the next chapter
It was never
meant to be

Feeling pain within
Love painless
Without hurt
Death
to the dark side
Breaking heart

Something of beauty
Romeo he bleeds
Juliet never saw
His blood
In the heart
One of a flower
Feelings for love
Motions beautiful

Always is forever
Happier ever after
Emotions
of love
Housed in dreams
Two hearts
Become
one treasure

FLYING ON THE WINGS OF NOSTALGIA

I know the land where the lemon-trees flower,
the flushing meadows in spring are flooded in color,
the waves of morning mist rise from orchid valley floor,
grazing the emerald hill-slope to the azure sky they soar.

Drifting in time from my mooring far away
with the painted memory not yet gray
I want to fly on the wings of nostalgia
to the land raised high in the Himalaya.

The cascading brooks flow out of the snout of glaciers,
the rhythm of their dance mountain’s swirling air shares.
Along the chiseled contour as silver strips they meander
in the lofty and terraced terrain where I used to wander.

Drifting in time from my mooring far away
with the painted memory not yet gray
I want to fly on the wings of nostalgia
to the land raised high in the Himalaya.

Rows of rugged ridges merge in the horizon with the sky
where the charcoal clouds gather, with wild wind they fly
over the ever-green pine forest and melt there in torrent,
the music of rain reaches the crescendo at each moment.

Drifting in time from my mooring far away
with the painted memory not yet gray
I want to fly on the wings of nostalgia
to the land raised high in the Himalaya.

Piercing the rain-washed sky beneath the arc of rainbow
the high peaks glow as the setting sun gleams on snow.
With the moon beams silver dust falls in divine serenity
I know the land where nature blooms in astral beauty.

I want to fly on the wings of nostalgia
to the land raised high in the Himalaya.

How I Wish

How I wish I was a flute
Keep Spreading new notes in the air
Pleasing people with their sweet sounds
Making them happy and out of despair

With my sound I would heal the wounds
Soothe the heart, soothe the ears
Cure not only externally, but also internally
Bring them out of sadness and wipe their tears

Also, help people communicate to their dears
Be a mode of communication
Language of love would flow out of me
Helping people to come out of hibernation

When I am old I would become one with nature
Recycle back and become a flute again
What is life if I am not useful to someone
I would like to be a flute again and again

O, Lord of grace, You hold us in Your arms holy,
and when the time comes for us to finally depart,
show us the light to traverse to eternity safely.

O, Lord of hope, from the tormented heart
flow out these humble words, for I bear
the agony of life from the strength You impart.

O, Lord of faith, You guide us with divine glare
across the tempestuous sea to the serene shore
to reside in the abode of peace in your care.

O, Lord of love You suffered for us to the core,
for the burden of the cross You carried slow,
You give fortitude that in pained minds we store.

O, Lord of joy, in life’s dark nights You glow
like the omnipresent unfading pole star we see,
the discovery of sanctity of soul to You we owe.

O, Lord of all, You escort us on the rough sea
to the gleamed horizon at end of our journey.

Loosing my mind

I used to hear words of pain
I’m used to hearing words of defeat
In this traumatic drama of my life
I realise they no longer need a body
The spill from lips wide open

Stained on my mind
From previous beatings
They easily flow out of my own thoughts now
Barricading me in less self-worth
Spitting toxins, I now imagine in my own mind
They have plastered themselves on my skin
Fighting to sink into my soul

Selling words of anger
Doubt
Fear
Hate, Pain
Frustration
That I keep buying
Even with my last cent

As I become indebted to them
They have made me believe
I owe them now
A slice of my life
A piece of my soul
That without their unjustified torment over me
They haven’t wrung their last piece

Even now as I fight
And stretch like an amoeba
Trying to find my right form
To break free of them
To extend myself out of their reach
They tell me
‘We’…haven’t debited yet
Our fill is yet unmet

The Interlude of Aphradere: One-Of-A-Kind Soul

Give me a chance to gain the will of positive vibes, nestled in happiness and glorified in gladness
You allow me to swim in passionate blissfulness and I'd like to thank you with all of my heart's gratefulness
I truly belong with wings of an elegant eagle that takes flight of fantastic fervor
I must refuse to walk into the darkness and instead, wear His light's armor

We all got our demons
We all got our angels
We are all God's daughters and sons
We all got our issues and failure sells…
We all got our demons
We all got our angels
We are all swimming in the waters of woe
We are all carelessly spiralling in Aphradere's blow

Spiralling insanity strangles our dreams of hope
Spiralling insanity dangles like a thick, heartless rope
Merciless madness brews in our noggin of nostalgic nightfall
Regardless of our words of wisdom and understanding, we all make a grand fall
Through it all..through it all...end it all...
We will be built well like a wall
Defeat depression's hold by giving Him a call
In our helpless, hopeless hall

Make the beginning last longer than our ends
We will be making it beyond the radiant riverbends
Aphradere will steer us out of here…out of here...
Without a single fear and without shedding a tear

Drowning in the waters of Aphradere
What's been lost has been lost for many a year
I want to get out of here…
I want to get out of here…

Drowning in the waters of Aphradere
What's been lost can be found, my darling dear
I want to get out of here…
I want to get out of here…

Take a rest, my lonesome, tiresome dear
As we steer our way out of here...out of here…
Fear rejuvenates my rejected soul for so long
Tears flow out of my eyes because I was in the wrong
I never wanted this…
Inner hopelessness
I was one-of-a-kind, but not anymore
My colorful soul is trapped in Aphradere's core

Poetry Lesson

Take a pinch of boredom
then stir it in your mind,
just like routing in the rubbish
it’s amazing what you find.

Add a splash of fantasy
mixed well with truth or lies
then let it flow out freely
with a hint that it is wise.

Don’t feel that you are cheating
although maybe this is true,
for the beauty of creation
will be sure to shine right through.

Your words penned as a poet
bare your soul for all to find
all the trash or truth or wisdom
you’ve been hiding in your mind.

You must lose your inhibitions
writing everything you feel,
only then when you’re addicted
will your poetry be real.

Your pen’s then drawn to paper
as your muse joins in the fight,
you may even lose perception
of what’s day and what is night.

But it’s worth it for the feeling
that you’ve satisfied your need
to try to plant in others
just a little of your seed!

Free Ivor's Verse

I'd like to write a poem but I must not let it rhyme
So those that favour free verse can cherish every line.
Suspend my natural writing and try to put it down
In the fashion of those poets whose work can make me frown.

I'm really, really trying and the words I'll try to fit
Into my little poem so in comfort they don' sit.
So why am I just finding that in every single line
It ends up like I'm thinking and has to flipping rhyme!

I put my pen to paper with serious intent
Of making perfect poetry the way that it was meant
To forget the rhyme and rhythm and try to please the folk
Who claim that rhyming poets are just a blinking joke.

But my pen, it will not let me and I fear it's in my head
That from mind to pen and paper that the way the ink is bled
Is to flow out very smoothly and I have no say in this,
As my muse insists that free verse is the poetry I should miss.

Now I am not saying that free verse has no place for all of you
But I know it is now never a style that I will do.
For this particular type of poetry I will never understand
And although I tried to write it, it just wouldn't leave my hand.

Please excuse this rhyming poet for his failure to find
Any beauty in a poem where the lines don't please his mind.
I am sure in one man's poison another man will find
Pure beauty in the ramblings of a very different kind!

The Starlings Descend

They flow out of a pocket of sky,
a door in the air no one saw
until dark wings shower
over our heads.

Their plumage has a metallic sheen,
as if they were made in parts,
in some elvish workshop, their wings
hammered on last.
Wings that talk to other wings,

for no starling is a starling alone;
it is ten thousand starling clones
welded into flocks of feathers.
They descend where they please.
a road, a lawn, a parking lot,
they descend, and where they land
that is their land, their acre of lordship.

See them strut like dinosaurs,
eyes as black as an eclipse.
See them stab the light, push it away
until all that litters the ground
is prey.

Owl, eagle and hawk fear to
draw near, for the flock is here,
and it will leave when it wants to.
We avoid the pecking mob,
hurry by, look away,
as another swarm of avian androids
stakes its claim upon the earth.
