Silver spoons, white silk, and china,
Her world of luxury defines her.
So ignorant, and so naive,
Too comfortable, and so she leaves
And comes to rest, though tempest tossed,
Too far away to call her lost.
A wilderness, to her surprise,
Is softened by a strangers eyes.
And so, it starts, a foreign friend
Extends a hand, and starts to mend
Our fragile Jane, whose inner war
Had left her fractured, weaker, raw.
And when he speaks, his voice is deep,
And when she hears, she's willed to sleep.
He's found a peace no-one can reach,
She's much to learn, and he can teach.
He takes her hand, he makes her calm,
They're silenced and they're palm to palm.
A pair of eyes, once so self-sure
Are opened wide and thirst for more.
Jane's changing now, he's made her see
How elegant a life can be,
When fakery is stripped away
And harmony comes into play.
He's nothing like she's ever known,
He's nurtured her, and now she's grown.
He's trusted her, he's changed her world,
He's shown the light to a blinded girl.
And yet, he questions what she sees,
In the one who's put her mind at ease.
In the only way that she knows how,
She spells it out, in rhymes for now.
She sees him as her saving grace,
She sees perfection in his face.
She knows that he's her pride and joy,
She knows that he's her jungle boy.
"True happiness lies not not outside
But is sourced from depth of ourselves." by author

Real Happiness
Like haze that fades away in the wide space
frail, fragile and casual like cotton
earthly, mundane and temporal
subtle, shrewd and sensitive
is outward happiness
that flits off awhile
quite furtively
far away
like the
breeze
but
in realms
where resides
the sincere self
lies the seat of peace
fount of real happiness
the source of eternal bliss
gleaming with faith ever awake
as in lakes of love lies happiness
and shine the sparks of silvery kindness.
And there it is
somewhere along wreath of winds
I am brought to the lightest of ease
Here, under the pour of waterfall,
II begin to lay on glossy tracks
Tending blooms among pebbles,
I marvel. This landscape of my ancestors,
Where ricefields carry their bloodline
In the old town of Tanauan
A place, however far away
From the glitters of Manila
..
The liquid trail lies clear, unblemished;
A sanctuary of my youth
Stretching the bends on innocence
Until the country scene turned
Into the wired labyrinth of city life.

Before I had anxiety
I was active in society
Now it seems sly to me
Hiding's the priority
always up for the social
weather far away or local
making the phone call
at the bar til last call
I was happy and enthusiastic
on the pull without a tactic
always laughing emphatic
living the life most fantastic
as a negative crept in
my social scene leaked thin
in a world of hating
losing everything
at present I cant sense my humour
in tense air thick like armour
will escape this harm unharmed
and my humour will return in the future
so I may seem droopy
with back to the ropes
but I'm actually regrouping
and groping hope
hiding isn't admitting defeat
it's survival through the act of retreat
and survival does not mean beat
just waiting to get back to my feet
after I have anxiety
I'll be active in society
and I'll think it was sly to see
hiding the priority
always then will I be active
a life of scenes most attractive
the black will have retracted
bet your dollar I'll be back kid!!
Why does love always feel like a stick in my eye
When I constantly reach for the sky
Looking for the answers why
It's kicking my butt and leaves
An empty feeling in my gut
Instead of chasing woman like a rutting buck
I always get stuck with the ones
That want to run amuck
I have no luck even sold my truck
Thinking that love has struck
Instead, I got smacked around like a hockey puck
Talk about a man with bad luck
I try to stay as far away
From that kind of women who plays that way
But they always seem to latch on to me
I'm so lonely I just want to be happy and free
Have a life full of mystery
A love that makes life snug as a lug
Not one you can stomp on like a bug
Or one you can just sweep under the rug
I need to change my ways
So I can find a woman who doesn't play that way
It seems like they all know what to say
Before I know it I'm saying goodbye
Because it just feels like another stick in my eye
No matter how hard I try
Oh lord why does this keep happening to me
I pray you bring love my way today
That will make my life as it should be
With a wonderful woman beside me
Lost in thought
(agony of a soldier's wife)
Loneliness like a dark gown
She wore in her mind set
Wondering if he will ever return home
As she sit with a dark cup of coffee
Stairing throw the window
Like he is close to home
Voice Echo's in the room
no one speak but her voice
As she marvel in sight
Not realising she speak just only to herself
But To an unknown reality
Lost in thought
She keep waiting
Far away from her
Was her love on a war front
Battleing to save an unknown curse
Like a battle of
a do or die
Lost in thought
Like an unknown destination
She perceive a tommorow never come true
On and on
The media keep reviewing
Casualties of dead soldiers
on a high scale
Morning after morning
She weak up with a grief of the unknown
Noon after noon
She launch with an astray
Full of aches
From smokes of thoughts
Lots of thoughts on her mind
While she waits
Lost in thought
she miss her love dearly
When will he be home from
War?
Was an answer
she wish to know
Lost in thought
At midnight
With an heavy eyes
She sit close to an open door
Believing he might soon be home
Light after light
Cigar after cigar
Like she sit watching the moon
Counting the stars with a wish
And wondering so deep
As she got
Lost in thought.
Note before you set for war, think about those you leave behind, cos karma is part of nature, guess why war is evil, I rest my case
Your hair sweeps back across your shoulders.
I watch from both close and far away.
It is beautiful, like a wave of honey.
It is an ocean of gold.
Your eyes, dance with light,
and I can barely see your face.
All full of emotions,
that I fear most.
Happy, warm, kind, you are all that is good.
I think of you. I dwell on you. I find I am “taken”.
It happened instantly. No chance of escape,
as if I ever wished to consider?...
No.
A fleeting feeling of euphoria, followed by an endless “need”.
I will walk the earth, seeking to find…
for you…
I will ride winds across the universe, to bring…
to you…
I will lay down my life, to keep you…
safe…
My dearest flower, star of the heavens,
Let me be for you…
All that I can be,
So you will see…
me.
Atop a rock, there sits a girl. A hat
adorns her head as she enjoys a chat
with her young friend beside the pretty bay
on this serene red parasol beach day.
I breathe the salty air in through my nose
and feel the warmth of sand between my toes.
I listen to the squawks of gulls at play
on this serene red parasol beach day.
I walk along the shore and reminisce
about lost love when I see sweethearts kiss
down by the water’s edge not far away
on this serene red parasol beach day.
My parasol is blue, but it will do
when finally I find the perfect view.
A towel I lay right here where I will stay
on this serene red parasol beach day

If I crossed the line
Then I apologize
Almost lost my mind
A lot of times
Mental and physical battles being fought
Still lost
Smoking pot
And drinking lots
Another day and night went by, I forgot
What I wrote and did before the lights went off
(Knock, knock, knock)
Get yo' ass up, I got
A job to do at a far away spot
Never late, always on the dot
To the table a lot
Was brought
I did some teaching and also was taught
In casual wear or while wearing a smock
Gave me a key to the building, so I could lock
It all up, making sure everything was solid as a rock
Often I had to collect my thoughts
And connect the dots
For now I need a Glock
And a yacht
Not to ever watch the clock
Ceasing to stop
Therefore I paid the price
More than twice
At what cost
Otherwise it is all for naught
Continuing to plot
Many quick to squawk
Others partake or just sit and watch
Like a hawk
Because they intend to stalk
By now, it should come as no shock
Wake up, don't scoff
And think you got it all, because you do not
A world that talks
And gawks
Far too oft
Many mock
And quickly flock
Built off of slave labor and sweatshops
It's non-stop
A world obsessed with onslaught
Quick to pull the trigger and fire a shot
Obsessed over symbols like a cross
And any cash crop
Obsessed with hitting the jackpot
Yet some things can not be bought
Was it Wednesday ?
Partly closed, under a hide me peak
of “ Red Bull Inc “ His eyes shaded
cannot see further than his
half day Wednesday dream
expectation sits here ! It must be right.
Her eyes ! they drip the Moon and broken stars
and far, far away now, don’t and shan’t
their playing at it, hidden in shadows
bringing real time uncomfortably close
belief sits here, maybe a distance so near.
The longed for full Moon is half
the stars are hidden behind keyholes
wasted rolling minutes and empty hours
spread into Thursdays first light
it was a half day Wednesday, yes !
Must have been Wednesday.
