An Evil War

They walk the plains of sun-dried grass,
     together in a row;
the mothers, with their young ones, pass
to search for food and go

for miles with thirst to find a drink;
     as dry season appears.
They walk along, each one in sync,
     alert with eyes and ears.

On different paths, the males walk too
     to feed as they patrol,
and somehow they, with inner clue,
     all find a water hole.

And peacefully they live their days,
     adapt to nature's reign
that serves them well to drink and graze
     and procreate their strain.

But space in their domain is less...
     encroached by humankind,
uncaring of the crowding stress
     they leave on them behind.

Still worse, they have become aware
     of threats of crueler kind,
and learned to watch, to hide, beware
     of horrors which they find.

So oft they see a sight disturbed...
     sprawled out along their path;
a member of their precious herd...
     they trumpet loud with wrath.

They stop and mourn like humans do,
   stand vigil, shocked and chilled;
caress the faceless friend they knew...
   who for his tusks...was killed.

BBC News: The War On Elephants: April 28, 2016

"Bloated and eerily upright the large adult elephant was still standing where it had been killed - just next to the stream - its face hacked off....It had been fleeing the carnage in the mud 100m or so away, where the remains of four other adults and one young elephant lay fallen and disfigured, their tusks and trunks all taken for ivory and meat. Like a macabre statue, this faceless animal stood as a landmark to the horrors of poaching, of the ivory trade, and of the mass slaughter of the last remaining elephants in central Africa...
“It's worth so much more than just the animals. It's about trying to stabilise a whole region which has been unstable for decades. It's about trying to basically build peace. And that is why we wake up every morning, why everyone fights this war, and why we try and save the elephants. It's about basically saving Congo. On 23 April 2016, three rangers were killed in a fresh clash with poachers. Park manager Erik Mararv and another ranger were badly injured."

Oh my goodness!

I was just thinking about Erik Erikson,
psychoanalyst and essayist,
and his social analysis thing
about the U.S.
stuck in perpetual competitive
in-grown
culture-ungrown adolescence.

And Erikson suddenly reminded me of one of my dreams last night.

When The Donald
and a few black-suited security robots
visited AllSouls sanctuary.

I was singing in the choir
to the choir
as white-privileged usual.

But, when he slurped in
our ecofeminist minister
invited him to "Grow up!"

"Stop acting like a junior high
military school bully.
Let go of the golf clubs and take up surfing.
Have more fun
without passing your unpaid bill on
to already unhappy
un-privileged
depreciated ungreat over-populations.
Go back to private life.
Learn how to actively love
and healthily entertain
your own family
with Win/Win non-violent communication games
and organic garden planning
and integral Permaculture Design practices,
and cooperative ownership,
and compassionate self-management.
Try appreciating (not depreciating)
some health/wealth organic farming property."

"Go back to school
and learn some basic Win/Win community health-organizing techniques
for non-violent resilient communicating
with what you say
and what you listen to
and what you do
and what you choose not to do
still matters to EarthTribe's future healthy outcomes."

"Stop pretending to be a Win/Lose adolescent
still trying to remember your Win/Win hopes and dreams
when you were just out of your EarthMother
gasping for your first in and out rebalancing breath."

"I am not your disappointing mother!
We are not your emotionally neglectful and inaccessible parents.
Stop punishing us
for not worshiping the ground
your Win/Lose ZeroSum soul walks on."

"Do something that might make us want to worship the ground
we walk on compassionately together."

Then the security robots started snickering
right there in our Green AllSouls Sanctuary.
And then Donald did too
as he turned around to actually blush
(who knew!)
and a bit less slurpily exit,
just like a teenager
slouching out
almost the way he came in,

Except smiling through his blushing Win/Lose eyes
not just his Loseconomic/Losecologic
health-depreciating
critical-noneventful fake-smile mouth.

Erik's Birthday

The day you were born you are mother and father's miracle,
You were a very calm baby boy.

Walter brought baby Erik and mom home from the hospital,
Mom could stay at home with you for a few months.

You learned to walk and talk,
Loved to read storybooks with mom and dad.

Liked the Fischer Price toys,
Playtime was your favorite,

Then you went to school,
Learned to read and write.

Enjoyed sports, like soccer,
When we lived with grandma and grandpa and mom.

Went to Lorne Park Elementary School with your brother Kirk,
Received good results at school.

I would drive you Erik, Kirk, and Antje to school and back.

Then you went onto graduate from school,
I remember you winning the jelly bean contest and won a jar pf jelly beans,
when you went to Ellwood.

You went to Humberview Collegiate,
I am sure there are many good memories there.

Graduated with your favorite female escort,
I remember the holiday we had in Collingwood where we enjoyed skiiing.

We stayed over the weekend, dinned.
The miracle, that took us two hours to get there. I was still driving in those days.

Your mother's handsome escort to the Federation of Teachers twenty-five year dinner.
Where mother was photographed with the Director of Education, we had a nice dinner.

The nice picnic at Wittchurch with all our relatives,
We bought a bucket of Kentucky Fried chicken and had lunch.

Then there were the days at University where he studied to be a Chartered Account.
Got married to his childhood sweetheart Lisette.

Had a beautiful wedding in Costa Rica.
Sent mom the pictures of the wedding, very beautiful.

Went to live there because the climate was warmer,
Lived in a nice apartment with his beautiful wife.

I remember the days when we shared a Christmas holiday at the Limetree.
Upon arrival we received a Santa and a bag of oranges.

That was such an excellent vacation with Antje, grandma and grandpa and mom.
We met the Thornes, Regina, Eric, Cliff and Tina.

These are beautiful memories,
God has blessed us with them.

Memories of Our Father and Mother

I have such good memories of our beautiful mother and handsome father,
Days and nights of growing up with them.

We lived in beautiful houses, the Magnolia house, the Chopin house and the Lorne Park house,

Grandma Elfrieda our very virtuous and good grandmother came to live with us,
She was a beautiful woman with silver white hair styled in a french role.

She cooked and sewed for us, styled and sewed my grade eight graduation dress, my secondary school dress,

I always had a selection of beautiful clothes, she knitted me a beautiful nordic sweater.
For my birthday one year she knitted me a sailor like sweater and sewed a beautiful flared skirt.

Father brought mother and I a coat, sweater and skirt one year, quite beautiful and a navy blue dress with a rainbow collar.
He was the director of a fashion company in the city of Toronto

Mother was an executive controller for a handsome builder of subdivision houses,

Summers we would go to the cottage together, our brother Tom would stay at his friend Eric's place,

When I married my husband Walter and had two beautiful children Kirk and Erik,
We went to the Limetree Beach resort in Sarasota, Florida with my sister Antje and my parents.

MY divorced years I lived in our parents' beautiful spacious house with my
children and sister,
They were such beautiful and handsome parents and kind to us all,

I will always remember them with love and friendship,
Their friendship continued and we went to visit my sister Antje and her children and husband at their beautiful house.

We visited my brother Tom his children and wife Gail at their house,
They got married at Pioneer village. i was a bridesmaid,
They drove in a horse drawn carriage, Tom wore a tuxedo and Gail wore a very
beautiful wedding gown.

My sister Antje was a pretty bridesmaid at their wedding,
She is very happily married now to Michael and has two beautiful and handsome children Esme and Evan.

Our parents blessed us with friendship and kindness,
We are all truly thankful to the Lord , our God.

Father's Birthday

Today is our father's birthday,
Hip hip hooray, what a beautiful day.

Mother would have a birthday cake and candles,
Thoughtful presents from father's relatives.

I like to send father a handsome tie each year,
And maybe a shirt to go with his suit.

I remember his guidance through the years,
When he adopted me, i was from mother's first marriage.

This is very kind and good of him,
That allowed me to enrol in Teacher's College.

I graduated with an A with my friends,
My friend and I taught in a country school.

Each row was a different grade, complex,
I did like this experience.

Then I was hired to teach, I am retired now.
The Ministry of Education sent me a certificate thanking me for contributing to the Excellence in Education.

Father would drive me to the Go Train that I could get to my teaching Job,
I enjoyed teaching very much.

When i was a teenager he bought our mother and I a beautiful coat, sweater, skirt set and a navy dress with a rainbow on the collair.

He was a Drector of Tip Top Tailor and Leah Posluns.
They sponsored him to study for his Doctorate of Philosophy , which he received.

When we went to the cottage father would pack the Volkswagon with our clothing,
Then he would drive us to the cottage on the island.

When we caught a cold, he went out to buy ice cream.
When I married my husband Walter, we had a Christmas wedding at our parent's house in Lorne Park.

We have had many beautiful years with father,
He became grandfather to our beautiful and handsome children Kirk and Erik

Great grandfather to Kirk and Jenn's children, Maya and Merrick,

I am blessed to be at the Senior's Residence with our father for two years,
He clapped after I gave my piano performance.

What beautiful memories, we dined together with friends for breakfast and brunch,
Many beautiful memories including reunions with our relative.

Happy Birthday father, loved by your relatives forever,
God bless you in heaven.

Happy Birthday To a Dear Son

Happy Birthday to a dear son,
I think of all the good memories we shared.

The beautiful picnic at Whit church,
With our relatives , there was a pond, very scenic.

The years growing up and going to school,
The university graduation and the many happy years with our grandparents.

Our parents big old house where we lived together with your mom and aunt Antje.
The picnics at Jack Darling park, skipping stones in the water.

The frisbee days where we would drive from our grandparent's house ,
We'd get a bucket of Kentucky fried chicken and have a picnic.

Then we were off to the Dairy queen for an ice cream,
I used to drive in those days, I don't drive anymore.

We were off to Dietrich Bonhoeffer church where i taught Sunday school,
I had my young children with me in our Sunday school class.

That was quite a distance for us to travel,
With God's help we travelled safely.

The beautiful Poinsetta Erik brought his mother at Christmas,
I remember the hug was very nice.

Erik's exquisite wedding to Lisette,
I couldn't be there but he sent me pictures,.

That was a beautiful Hawaiin wedding on the beach,
He wore a white papal suit with a hawaiin lei and his wife wore a white bridal gown.

Many good memories, I am very thankful for my sons Kirk and Erik and my miracle wedding to my husband Walter of twenty years,
 We are still friends today.

The long drives to our A frame cottage at North Bay when the children were young,
I cooked and Walter got the fireplace going,to keep us warm.

Summers we would go swimming in the shallow water,
rowing in our rowboat.
Then we would drive back to our beautiful house , the children loved games.

Monopoly was our favorite and of course chess.
We would spend hours with these games, we also liked gin rummy.

I remember the rubix cube years, the children were good at solving them,
Many good memories and I will always be thankful.

Chop Up a Chicken

Anti-social at its finest
I'm Johnny Unitas
Nobody’s highness
I hate drugs
I hate when people rely on highness
Yes weed heads turn into junkies
My crush when I was 16 is now a flunky
Lord please lay your grace on Paul and Chunky
Chopin chickens
Using Noonie's kitchen
No the chicken isn't baked, fried, or rotisserie
It's the chicken for the vixens
My brothers missing
To be real with you my brother died
Heroin left his brain fried
Heroin left me without an Erik
Oh he's in a better place
That response is generic
Do you see what I see?
Maybe you need a dosage of carrots
Thank god for friends Jade and Jalyn
They deserve a merit
Slangin chickens makes more money
Than my 2 jobs put together
Rashadtnae changed my view on heffers
I'm clutch but clever
I can't stand to lose another person to drugs
So ties will be severed
It's not whatever
I take it serious
The only way I can talk to my brother again
Is in spirit
Choppin chickens
Piano flippin
Everybody is either selling or doing drugs
But I wanna be different
21
21
I hate the sun
But I'm Angie's son
Rocky couldn't handle the responsibility of being a mom
So the state took her kids and let her run
Having my name in your mouth must be fun
Having my name in your mouth must be tasty entertainment
I love when people hate me
It’s anti-love so how could I hate it
Anti-social
21 forever
I am hopeful
Anywhere But Here
But Louisville is all know
I love the locals
I love Sharleeta
Love wouldn't love without hoes and cheaters
Lord Jesus this world
It's so drug ridden
Chop me up before I chop a chicken
Does it look like I'm playing?
Does it look like I'm kidddin?
Kidding around with heroin
Is how I lost my older sibling

Father Knows Best

My father is a very good memory in my mind,
He was very handsome and tall.

Always very kind and understanding,
He mentored our love of God and the church.

Educated my brother Tom and I to become teachers,
My brother is a secondary school teacher .

I am an elementary school teacher,
Received my twenty-five year award.

My youngest son Erik was my escort for the dinner,
My oldest son Kirk was at university.

Father married my beautiful mother Dr. Erika,
He became Dr. Wolf at the University of Toronto at Mississauga.

When Walter and my son, Kirk married the beautiful Jenn at a Muskoka Resort,
Father placed the sacred scarf on Kirk and Jenn.

What an exquisite wedding that was and they are blessed with two
beautiful children Maya and Merrick.
I wish Kirk a very Happy Father's Day with his children Maya and Merrick and his wife jenn,

Good wishes to my divorced husband Walter,
The good years living with our sons Kirk and Erik.

We wish my brother Tom a Happy Father's Day with his children Patrick and
Frieda and his wife Gail,
Happy Father's Day to Michael, Esme, Evan and his beautiful wife Antje.

We remember the beautiful years with father,
The years at the cottage in the summer.

Swims at the fitness institute,
Living in the big house with my relatives.

Good of father to make room for us,
We remember the children's father, Walter.

The responsibilities of father are usually many,
We thank him with love and gratitude.

The good years at the cottage with our parents,
These are God's kind many blessings.

Memories of the Cottage

When we were young our parents used to rent a cottage,
These were my favorite summer days.

My favorite cottage was the North Bay cottage,
This was a rustic cottage on the bay.

You could swim in the knee deep water,
Walk for miles, our parents always made sure we were supervised.

You could cook your own food,
Our mother was an excellent cook.

Another time my parents rented an island,
Among the Thousand Islands.

I remember my brother Tom and I swimming in the water,
He had been lying on a mattress and fell in the water. and recuperated.

Father went out to get groceries for us,
He made sure we were all well fed.

Father packed the Volkswagen with our clothes and belongings,
He always did everything very carefully.

The memories of the days of holidaying with our parents,
Very dear and precious to us.

When I married and had two beautiful sons Kirk and Erik with Walter,
We would go to the North Bay cottage,

A beautiful A -frame-cottage where you could cook and prepare your own food.
Father Walter would start up the wood stove.

We would go rowing in the rowboat together and view the beautiful scenery,
Swimming was also a favorite activity.

The A-frame cottage had an upper loft where you could sleep,
The living-room was a place where we played board games.

We would dine in the living-room for all our food,
Father and sons might catch a fish.

They are good and beautiful memories ,
Blessed by our benevolent God.
