Saviour of the Butterfly

On a dark, melancholic night,
she sat completely still.
Earnest.
Head up,
eyes frozen,
lips sealed,
breath silenced,
hands crossed,
ankles shackled,
heart blindfolded,
brain screaming nonsense,
occupied with millions of thoughts
Loud and monotonous.

Everybody had told her
to stop listening to her heart;
that emotion,
though fluid, has to be caged;
though wild, has to be tamed.
Her skin cracked in protest,
and a white butterfly
with a damaged wing
fell at her feet,
voiceless,
almost invisible.

She didn't notice
the fluttering butterfly,
for her brain was screaming:
"Run!"
Her brain was racing,
chasing time,
anxious and out of breath,
blurring her vision with illusions.

"Run!"
Her brain screamed again,
and, thus, she stood up
so abruptly she lost herself in vertigo;
and, moving her foot,
she heard
a voice.

"Mind the butterfly!"
the voice echoed,
yet her head was frozen,
her skin was breaking
under the pressure of
heavy, anticipating stares,
twisted and eager to judge;
their lips were, slowly,
breaking into crooked,
predatory smiles:
ready to devour her,
to feed on her innocent mistakes.

"Save the butterfly!"
The muffled voice repeated,
rushed through the air,
to shield the blurred butterfly,
and she almost took a blind step
when his arm spread in time
to shelter the broken butterfly.

She gazed in awe
into his eyes.
His eyes were, cloudless, untamed;
free to flow all over the space,
to submerge the world with
lucid cleansing emotion.
His hands, warm and open,
ready to inhale the universe,
were guarding the delicate butterfly
with the greatest care.

Within the skies of his boundless palms,
the butterfly exhaled the dust of pain.
Elixir of life rushed through its wings,
spreading them to embrace the sky,
and yet he was a king
with a million things to do.

He was a king,
real, adored, and prosperous:
never has he ever
stepped on a broken butterfly.

Acquainted ! Attracted ! I adore you, Hello Miss !
Beautiful bud of love bloomed in bliss.

Cheered ! Charmed ! Caring craving on your charisma.
Dedicated ! Drank dreamy desires drowning in dilemma.

Ecstatic emerald emotion in exciting endeavour.
Fantastic feelings flew in fervent fervour.

Grace and glamour in amour glowed on slat glance.
Humble holy happy heart hiding hesitance.

  Intensive impulsive illusive instinct instantaneous,
Just making me jubilant jocund jolly joyous.

Knot of allure knitted in neat plait
Loyal liberal lavender love though not in plaint.

  Mellifluous marvellous mysterious.
Noble nice neither shaky nor nervous.

  Overwhelmed oblate on oblivious obsession
Pure pristine pride piercing pearly passion.

Quivering and quavering heart to quench thirst !
Romance in rapture rolls, ready to outburst.

Serene sublime simple sentiment, no sanctimony.
Thrilling, tempting togetherness ! Typical testimony.

Urge to unravel , unleash even being unconscious.
Vigorous in voice ! Veneration for my Valentine! Venus !

Whirling heart with weary eyes watched you to walk away.
‘X ‘ : The unknown ‘love’ left unsolved in 'Xtreme dismay .

Yearnings of youth yelled yielding yucky heart break.
Zone of love in zest and zing was closed on abrupt ACHE.

“The feeling of emotion, the beginning,
the meaning of emotion, the end.
When these entwine at the edge of twilight zone
the muse sinks in contemplation.” – By Poet

The stream cascades in swirling spate of sparkle,
the shadows of trees sway submerged across plateau
where topaz dew makes diadem on glinting grass,
weaves lilting lattice for me as I’m lost inside my mind.

The drizzling sequins of moon dust
in silken sapphire night of argentine ambiance,
adorn the cobalt sea waves with rolling rapture
where I find my solemn muse saunter.

I travel through the torrent of turmoil,
forgetting all the bridges I’ve burnt.
I choose the road of deep rumination
I construct for the musing me, unpossessed.

Life’s story written in tome of time continuum,
at the end of the cheerless chapter challenges me
to choose if I’ll turn the page or close the book;
I decide to read on till the end.

At the crossroads of crowded compromises,
and after the silent crumbling in loneliness,
following the moonlit path the dreams tread on,
I rise from the dust and become a reflective poet.

When the floating fleet of gloomy clouds drifts away,
the sky spreads the spectrum of dreams
for me on the rainbow arched horizon
where I trace my innate contemplation concealed.

The scarlet sun rises with splendor in dulcet dawn,
lifts the miasma from the masked facet of remorse.
The lyrical winds blow across melancholic mindscape,
sweeps away the dust from swathed senses to revive.

Turning the buoyant emotions into a surging storm
of creative craving blowing with essence of expression,
I fly on its fantasy wings to the realm of reflection
where I wander as a pensive poet.

A book is just a book unless it’s opened…
’til then we know not on what adventure it will take us.
Will it make us laugh…
or cry…
or shudder with emotion?
Will it reach into our souls…
Will it awake us?

There is one truth about a book that I can offer,
one certainty…
one fact I now propose:
a book has no capacity to stir our imagination…
no power to inspire…
when it is closed.

A mind is just a mind unless it’s opened…
‘till then we know not on what adventure it will take us.
Will it show us how to love
to hope…
to dream?
Will it reach into our heart
Will it awake us?

There is one truth about a mind that I can offer,
one certainty…one fact I now propose…
a mind has no capacity for compassion
no power to inspire…
when it is closed.

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

A hasty glance shook my heart to leap up
Brought tempest and I was swept away.
Crept and crawled in depth of your gaze.
A glimpse of you haply happened sharp.

Encompassed with charm in every breath
Devastated drowned and flown in craze.
      Glory of emotion reached perfection.
Fascination urged even to embrace death.

Your hurried look tumbled my heart into soul.
     Thrilled to sense heart-piercing expectation.
Lightening of love flashed: I swallowed my hiccup.
Heartbeats skipped: Passion to rock and roll.

Sweetheart! You are my first love at first sight.
You smiled lending your hand to hold tight.
Amour in glamour, ardent ardor in sprite.
Dear! Let us unite making life full bright.

Disappointment

Somewhere out there among the sea gulls and marine critters
Is where some of us want to be with little else than peace and love
Not always being sure exactly where long as we’re afloat on a sturdy boat
Like stories that are read in good books- although some never get read

With the barely visible mountains of sight way behind them in the distance
And the clouds of sense hovering above, as they attempt to hide the bright sun
Along with the blue sky, which is some time paler than it seems at other times
The sea roars as the waves of emotion flow and peacefully break on the sands
                  Of time

We glance further out and wonder what is out there, beyond our view
And sometimes ask ourselves why here and not somewhere out there
Where there is not only peace and freedom but also happiness-some of the
                    Things that we deserve

Tomorrow always comes and it’s never late like fire relief
But what does it bring other than stress and disappointment?
Perhaps sometimes love and occasionally relief of some kind
But seldom new chapters in life that include changes- It has been said
“There are many fish in the sea”, but I have yet to catch one.

Premium Member Journey From Exile

The journey to rescue my soul began in your eyes
where I traveled for hours
in a warm wondrous afterglow of emotion
trying to find the unguarded gate of your heart's invitation
to come in from a cold world
where you found me a hungry, thirsty, traveler
in self-imposed exile, drifting on dark winds
like a flower with broken petals tumbling away
to leave an empty brown stem, burning away in the sunlight
where the tearful cry of a heartbeat is heard
in the solitary sound of loneliness,
  along with emotions of misery
that endures my lingering death of echos

from this...you have given me a reason
to hear the lost melody of my soul
as I lay in your eyes, a prisoner of your kindness
  held by your tender embrace
where my long nightmarish journey has ended

as I search through the distance between our eyes
I find an unmeasurable treasure
where my long road disappeared
and my soul began to reach out
to be tethered to the west winds of your heart
as the stillness of time smoldered
in the dewy mist of my traveled yearning

Premium Member Wondrous Words

Words forming stories on my mind-canvas…
The written words, letters drawn upon a page are, power;
a force to be celebrated and dreaded.

The images of the artist;
words paint profound stories within paintings.
Communication illustrated to teach;
from these seeds we all grow.

Words sketched with pen and brush can move mountains, change a life or heal; the Cadillac of tools for those who see and
know how to utilize them in any situation.
They are universally, multilingual.

Words initiate communication,
interaction is vital to the survival of all species.
Symbols, images, a glance or gesture are
all forms of word-art; cosmic graffiti.

Words bond and obliterate,
evoke emotion and soothe the soul.
Words are invaluable allies and formidable enemies;
both the life-of-the-party and a safe place to hide.

Memoirs, adventures, challenges,
hopes and dreams are all shared by words.
Stories and tales experienced by
writer and reader alike.
The ultimate superheroes
enabling their creators with the power to
change the world or an entire universe.

These inter-dimensional characters
tumble from pen and brush to the page.
When read out loud or spoken they serve as
transformational powers.

This transformative cosmic dust,
a sacred gift used by rich and poor, alike.
Uniform cuneiforms, precious petro glyphs and
hybrid hieroglyphs paint eons of growth and wisdom.
The human condition at-a-glance,
making a vibrantly painted record of life.

Premium Member Principles of legitimacy

Is there an eternal metaphor for love?
Is forever a sinful oath abandoned in
an archive of poems with alienated alliteration.
Hidden behind simile and ironic verses?

Why does human interference place
an unwanted label on romance and dignity,
like a social butterfly and the tramp.
These oxymorons become lost in translation,
to simple minds with misinformed ideologies.

Emotions are felt through a balance that
define the impact of words and actions.

Principles of legitimacy have no eyes.

Lust is an internal bonfire,
a fragile candle dripping in wax,
burning the beginning of an end,
a cursed chalice emanating feelings long dead.

Carnal desire is a luscious psycho,
trying to balance splitting paranoia.

Trust is a double edged dagger,
when an asylum of triggers are resurfaced
through crimson, clementine and chalk flashbacks.

We all suffer from immemorial ghosts.

Life gives no refund for regret,
It knows our destiny is death.
Loss leads to a motionless existence,

where bloodstained ivory feathers of the fallen
float in the air from wounded warriors,
whose hearts have crumbled from betrayal.

We never forget the sound of heartbreak.

There is only one immortal emotion.

Love is a silent saviour,
reality in a world of virtual insanity.
Where petals and pearls paint hues of pastel peaches,
creating a psychedelic poetic heaven.

An enchanted melody with waves of serenity,
reflecting ivory shades from
the last phase of the blood moon.

Because some things last beyond time.

BEING HUMAN

Brave she was and searched for light in blinding darkness
Encouraged by intense desire she illuminated odds and evens
Intuitively she knew how madness was insanely normal
Not straying from the path of love and kindness empathy she
Gallivanted meandered in everlasting human passion for the truth

Humble modest and embracing she cast comfort and compassion
Unsurpassed inquisitive kindness and belonging and she ventured
Manifold on many pathways star charts pedalled mutual attraction
At many crossroads halted listened reflected glistened followed heart’s emotion
Never ending moon spoons scooping longing souls embodied Universe

Bestowed upon with gravitation sense and sensual sensation he
Entered entertained a new realm of depth enlightenment and feeling
Intertwined his wings her roots their flights of fancy grounded elevation
Nurtured natured danced nubile naked dreamscapes fantastic fantasy
Gave rise with her together to birth to freedom liberation new beginnings

He liberated consciousness from iron cages of defence rationalization
Unwound some endless loops of gloomy thoughts and doom and
Mastered majestic miracles of letting go releasing gathering complete
And unbelievably mosaic canvass stretching poetry in motion tapestry
Near fairy tale community of clarity togetherness gratitude and joy

Being lost and found in each and other in each other in enterprise
Enchantment and the aura of unexpected unchartered magnitude
Intense illuminated rainbow spectrum’s crimson violet orange indigo
New found mindful mind and minds affection intellectual pheromones
Glowed panoramic mounts and para-mounts aphrodisiac amour took shine

“Human-amour’ being two in one and one in two human humane and beautiful
Untold stories history projections narration twine of lover’s union fashioned
Multiple layers dimensions soul mates and twinned and mingled twinkling eyes
And trusted in trusted holding hands and holding him and her and them and with
No other words expressing human being’s beauty than love and love and love
