The Poetry of Exile—James Joyce, Rumi & Adrian Rice — Steemit

I have spent my life in tormenting pain, from activities I must just refrain; oh, the aching, throbbing, and agony, but, I endure, I cope and don't complain. I find tranquility in fantasy, in the penning of divine rhapsody; in the harmony of spirit and soul, and I find peace . . . at the art gallery. Courage and the strength of me is my goal, I ignore aching and pain's rigmarole; with resolve I control my emotion, my spirit- with mind and body console. I let my words soar over the ocean, on white paper I pour my life broken; I have spent my life in tormenting pain, like a bird I rise, drift- never frozen.

I can resonate with the line about finding comfort in fantasy etc: to push down the pain etc. you are truly a strong soul and you’ve written so well for this prompt. I love the form used here. One id like to try too. Congratulations on winning. Well deserved.
