Little People

With water can I hurried to my garden by the pond.
Warm sunshine told me thirsty flowers sought my magic wand,
to give them water which they crave to soon become refreshed...
when then I saw an ant hill mound so thoroughly enmeshed.

Like little people at a party, they all seemed to play
as fairies, pixies, gnomes among the flowers on display.
My mind envisioned them with fairy wings and ballet shoes,
and gnomes with small green hats, in awe of their great flower views.

Strange world for them with flower stems that look like lofty trees,
to dance around these giant stalks neath petal canopies.
And leaf umbrellas shadow them, create a perfect shade
as in and out they march within a fairyland parade.

The petals look so bright in varied hues of nature's glow
perhaps this looks like Disney World to tiny eyes below.
Much like our galaxies in space can dwarf our tiny world;
to fairies, pixies, gnomes, my garden is a netherworld.

Okay, back to my job to water flowers here today!
From insect world to fairyland, enough of this I say!

Premium Member Brice - Flash Fiction

(a flash fiction piece)

My brother (Brice) left university, 6 months ago, like millions of other students, to shelter from COVID. After years away Mr. Annoying was back in MY world, bickeringly close and way too frequently in my business - like some half-assed adult (he just turned 22).

As school planning recently started though, I awoke one night, unnerved at the thought that he might be leaving. It was a shocking awakening to how much I need him, draw strength from him and shelter in his lee. The heart-wrenching realization of how much I would miss him was breathtaking, like that Disney ride where they suddenly drop you seven stories. I bit off half my fingernails before I finally fell asleep. =/

In the clear light of morning, it's obvious that he’ll leave again at some point and I'm dreading it now that it's flagged my awareness - and I face him with a whole new, creepy appreciation.

Yesterday afternoon...
Brice is on the sectional, with a bowl of pretzels, watching some BORING documentary.
I sneak up behind him and take his drink off the side table.
I plop down next to him - very close, I squeeze next to him, hard, like there’s no other room on the huge sectional. He gives me the side eye.
Me: “What??”
After a few minutes he reaches for his drink to find it missing - he looks around, then at me.
Me: With a mouth full of pretzels, “What??”
He gets up to find his drink (which I put in the kitchen) and that takes about 20 seconds.
While he’s gone, I change the channel to “Miraculous Ladybug”, my favorite cartoon.
When he comes back we wrestle for the remote - it takes him a couple of minutes but he’s too strong and as he begins winning, I yelled, “MOM, Brice is hurting me!” (which was cruelly ignored).
He finally gets the remote and back to his show - I straighten my hair, out of breath, and wonder how long it will take him to realize the pretzels are missing.

I am bilaterally symmetrical

on my mum and dads side
If women could hear men’s thoughts
would the hear it in a man or woman’s voice

If Thanos doubled the resources nobody needed to die

I always tell the truth
No matter where I lie

IF we all stopped talking would everyone be listening

If I put off tomorrow what I should have done today
It will probably keep till after the weekend

Had a party no one came
So I guess it wasn’t

The art of start is it starts with star
and ends in tart
between the universe
Baked cakes
Heaven somehow stands

Is a single string a strand
Afraid not

Hearing a shows music announce its end
Hiding my face in plain sight
That face is not mine
Not being me just for two knights walk in to an inn

A pirate plays piano
Someone shrieks a song

See 20, 000 is that it’s maximum depth
Like 20, 001 would the turn tin can
Not unless

Disney is really good at making stories written by other people

Off topic-why isn’t Andrew in jail
Prince is glad he changed his name

Does snoop know he’s smoking weed
Could you slip him a plain cigarette once in a while
Do planes get higher over him

I think I would be great at golf
I am alway looking in grass for my dogs ball

Penfold-my English teacher taught me how to hate words sorry doing this bit where I share

Gormandise

Is flying walking for flies

What do blind people visualise internally

Shaking my spear at will
Poor will
Always told to fire at him

Wright write right rite(which ever you choose)
Am outtie

Good morning, good morning, girls and boys
I hope you brought your Disney toys

Gather round in a circle close
Lets sing about the ones we love the most

Mickey, Mickey, your so cute and small
We love you the best of all

Donald Duck with his ducklings three
Dressed the same are his family

     Children, children wave your hands
Close you eyes we're in Disney Land

Pluto, Pluto your silly and daft
You sure do make us laugh

It's time to count, lets have some fun
The Seven Dwarfs, seven back to one

     Children, children wave your hands
Close you eyes we're in Disney Land

Dumbo flaps his ears and flies
Pinocchio's nose grows telling silly lies

Let all skip to Wonderland
Holding Alice's hands, going hand in hand

     Children, children wave your hands
Close you eyes we're in Disney Land

     Children, children wave your hands
Close you eyes we're in Disney Land

Days of Disney Fun

Minnies bow and mickeys ears
A land of joy and never tears
Little children having fun
Rising early with the sun
Adults are acting young not old
Warm sunshine, not freezing cold
Pin trading and big parades
Fancy rooms and friendly maids
Yummy food to eat and share
No fighting-- just fun everywhere
Crowns and dresses
Gifts to send
Never wanting it to end
Entertaining plays and shows
Fireworks that shine and glow
Characters that come to life
A honeymooning man and wife
So much fun that always lasts
As days and nights go by too fast
Leaving is the toughest part
As memories will fill your heart
Of the good times you have shared
With loved ones and friends who care

A Shade of Human

so this poem is based solely on the title and its interpretations

so the obvious one is racism
do the blind only see the sound

if you take it like colour
as in shades of pink
is shade just a lesser human
like a lesser red
deeper tones have stronger faith love hate

what if shade is the shadow
we blight on nature

What if it was a shade actually made of skin
sorry thats the serial killer coming out of me

or maybe just a lampshade owned by all humanity
dont listen to him hes a nutter

what if theres a lettet missing
maybe its
an shade of human
naw that disney sound right

A shoop of sheep
a faith of leaps

maybe Christian takes on humanity
the first of 50

maybe its that darkness
that blobs and muds
and splutters
from the pits abyss
that pulls inside

what if it has no meaning
until you give it one

The Legendary Kingdom of Florida

You can almost swim across large parts of Florida, swim and
walk a few steps and then plunge again into the cool sexual
embrace of yet another blue swimming pool.
You can almost cross the peninsular of Florida by using the
fairways, the greens, and the links of the many golf courses.
In the everglades and other swampy parts a dragonfly can flit
from one half-submerged alligator head to another flying
miles in that hopping-stones way.
Florida has backwoods cracker-holdouts where native
Floridians sit on lawn chairs where there are no lawns. They
rest and watch the snowbirds arriving on passenger jets that
never cease coming. The folks that live out there may often
pull a 'cold one' from a cooler and spit in resigned disgust,
that copious spittle seeps into the the earth to nourish
earthworms that delve and wriggle creating minor upheavals
that occasionally weaken the subsoil forming sink holes
elsewhere. You can travel from one sink hole to another;
navigate a way around sunken cars and homes by following
the ever breaking news and ‘road-out’ police reports.
All these observations are a mighty huge exaggeration and
a rather shaky hypothesis for sure but so is the notion of
Florida.
Florida exists in the heat of the moment where all things
merge into a Disney Fantasy one often displayed upon front
yards, where ubiquitous flamingos preen; plastic garden
adornments that in Florida are a protected species.

A Cautionary Tale

Maybe Walt Disney and his writers new a thing or two
As some of their Uncle Scrooge stories could be about to come true,
And put us in a stew.

In one story Uncle scrooge found out the hard way,
There comes a time, if you don't put some jobs and money our way,
You will be the only one with enough to pay,
For the goods you throw our way?

Does that sound like,
Our current situation with few jobs in sight,
And Robots to the left, and right?

Does that not sound like?
Today's situation where most can't afford a bike,
With the bank's still putting out a hidden interest hike.

Does that still sound like?
A comic fantasy,
Or could it really become a reality?

If I was bold enough to make my own comic prediction,
I would write about a slump in production,
With robots no longer in motion,
Which is not such a silly notion.
As without oil their joints would cease to function.

Premium Member Faerie Tale Heroines Are Blonde

When I was a child all of the faerie tale heroines were blonde.
Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Gretel, Tinkerbelle and Goldie Locks.
Being brunette does not make sense to a five-year-old.
The prince is not coming for me.
My hair is too dark.
I do not have blue eyes either.
The Anderson Brothers and the Brothers Grimm loved blue eyes.
All of their heroines had them.
I had hazel green eyes.
Until Snow White came upon the scene, there was no hope.
Now there was a teensy bit of hope.
A sliver of a spark of a slip of a teensy tiny bit of a hope.
I was thrilled when Disney brought out Mulan.
Now I knew it was okay to not only save myself, but to also save the prince.
Then Princess and the Frog arrived.
Now it is okay to have black hair, darker skin, hazel green eyes!
You can be a heroine without blonde hair and blue eyes now! Thank goodness!

Premium Member His Beautiful Answer To Her Proposal

Hold on. Stop a second before you do the deed.
I have to have a mouse house, and I have to have a steed.
I have to feel important, and I have to be called Minnie.
There are other rules, in case this is not plenty.

You must build the house to my exact specifications.
Our house will be open six months a year to all my relations.
You will be on probation from the first minute I say "I do".
We can have some freedom in dating, but this does not include you.

The pink and purple house must have shutters with cut out hearts.
If Mickey comes along, I can guarantee a heartache in all your parts.
My heart is pledged to Disney - his pretty cartoons and his songs.
Where are you going? I have not given you a list of all your wrongs.
