Premium Member Love Knows Not Age

My dad fell head over heels in love with my mom during their college years. Mom was a petite, a dark haired, dark skinned little angel would could warble a song like none other, with a smile that earned her the name, Sunshine! Her real name? Angel! He was a tall, handsome, fair-skinned, bearded man from a far off land named Persia. He spoke no Arabic. She spoke no Farsi or Armenian, though her father was Armenian. The very first words she ever said to him were, “Are you alright?” when he was thrown off the maintenance truck, probably because he was staring at her and not holding on. They fell madly in love…..Only later….later did they discover that she was 10 years his senior. She looked much younger. He looked much older, and this was the Middle East where age MATTERS.

A strange twist of fate
My love not defined by years
Why should it matter?

She broke up with him and she broke her own heart in so doing. He tried to stay away. Not only was she older, she was part Arab, and his mother would NEVER approve. Armenians married Armenians. If they did not do so, the race would die out. She threatened him in a letter. “If you marry that Arab, you are no longer my son!”

Forbidden…your love
My heart in state of turmoil
Family demands

The age difference was a chasm that was impossible to cross….but he loved her. He adored her…her smile…her tender heart...her beautiful voice. He begged her to come back to him. “I cannot live without you.” She had been longing to hear those words. They married, and everyone named them….the love birds. When Mom got sick with MS, it was Dad who cared for her, who wouldn't put her in a home, who shed tears for the woman who had borne him three children and had been a support to him during his years of administrative and pastoral work in Iran. He bathed her, brushed her teeth, combed her hair, changed her soiled clothes, took her for rides…the only time she felt free! He carried her down three flights of stars on his back when he had to rush to the bomb shelter….Don’t tell me love is bound to age! NONSENSE! I've seen with my own eyes…a love that defies all odds…and remains strong…to the gates of death.

My Angel is gone
The sweetest joy of my life
When you were my wife

Lonly Life

What more can you do?
Where would you go?
How wold you live
Without no one near?

i once lived in a peaceful home
the one where love is always fair

no one fights
no one screams
but that all changed when daddy screamed
'i hate you'

mommy cried
sissy cry
Johnny whimpered
i survived

daddy left two days from then
mommy cry so much more
sitting home
waiting for his return

and then a thought can to mind
'where would he go?
what would he do?
how would he live without mommy so near?

two weeks have passed and daddy's back
but nothing now is like back then

daddy yells and mommy cries
sissy cries and Johnny dies

and at his funeral my mommy weeps
she came to see dear Johnny sleep

'never again to see your face
never again to hold you close
now i know how bad you felt
when daddy came and beat you dead'

mommy cry herself to bed that night
sissy wept in the quiet night
daddy sits and wonders why
why he killed poor Johnny that night

a year has passed and nothing changed
mommy still with teary eyes
walks around sis's bed at night
'if you die i will not live
without you near i wont forgive'

mommy cried
sissy cried
Johnny died
daddy byed

two weeks after
daddy left
he comes back at take a rest

mommy weeps so much more
sissy with startled eyes
cries now cause mommy yelled

that night my mommy yelled
i wept for the first night yet
daddy ran away
and never did i even pray

for all i knew daddy lied
told us once he'd be forever
now i know that daddy's mean

because that night mommy died

sis and i
we packed our things
sneaking out to not be seen

the once good daddy drunk again
you never know if you fight for life

and as we walk around the block we hear his voice calling out

'COME BACK. YOU CAN ONT HIDE
I'M YOUR DADDY FOR ALL TIMES
COME ON BACK
YOU'LL DIE OUT THERE
COME OR ELSE I'LL KILL YOU THERE'

and with great fear we start to run
never knowing what may come

and now today
sis and i
we live together
and never lie

but at some times we walked in fear
for we still know daddy's near

it doesn't matter anymore
as long and i have my sister near

Pouring Raindrops By Majid Dodeen

Pouring Raindrops by Majid Dodeen

Oh, my fate and soulmate in every trip and travel
Oh, my beloved and dearest companion in the journey of a lifetime.
Oh, my sweetheart, lifelines, and oxygen when I breathe in and out.
Oh, my intimate friend here and in the hereafter
I pray that you will be my queen in paradise
In the house of eternity and immortality
The dwelling of Heaven, by Allah’s mercy, forever.
(In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability.)
“On gold-encrusted couches;
Reclining on them, arrayed face to face”
You are the chastity and purity, even purer
Listen to me and hear the glad news attentively
Raindrops commence pouring heavily
Rain showers of spiritual pearls and jewels
Touching the surface of the earth with love and tenderness
Convey the sweetest, wisest, and best lessons
Instilling loyalty and closeness to every contemplating figure
Every intelligent and significant mind
Bountiful Rain and fruitful life for every grateful
Get closer sweetie; let us walk hand in hand in the rain.
Brings and unites us together with our best and wisest destiny.
Do you hear the pitter-patter of falling rain?
Do you smell the petrichor of rain showers?
It flows and seeps deeply into our souls.
Dribbles and drops whisper deep down.
With them, the light of the dawn breaks and shines
Dew sprays like perfume fragrance.
Come closer! Hands entwine and breaths embraced together.
And along with the spaces, large swaths and paths
We watch the flowers bloom and blossom.
Roses flourish quietly and emerge like suns and moons.
We hear whispers of melodies played by the sound of rain.
Fresh from balanced strings spread
Come closer, there is no fear of a roaring wind.
With you, every sadness vanishes.
Every tension is defeated.
All worries die out and commit suicide
Smile! Oh, Lady of the Rose.
The face of the joy
Glory lover.
Handle my pains, agonies and treat my sleeplessness
How it is delicious to pass away between your neck and torso
Isn't he a martyr who drowns in the pretty river?
Isn't he a martyr who is swallowed up by the waves of the sea?

My Ego

My Ego.

One of those days when everybody was outside my ego heard
the music crying for help by playing the same tune over and over
those tunes were trying to send a message towards the loud
voices saying live today as life is worth fighting for no matter what
do not give up.

My ego felt the message and lit that light inside my darkness it felt
confident and disregarded that heavy fog from outside which was
trying to close up and suffocate me.

That same moment I who had lived in the dark was ready to accept
That life is not a game, life exists and it should not burn away
My nights.

Teary eyes from happiness were ready to look for a new life, a life
that will offer hope to my youth and live my coming years as a new
day watch the rising sun while feeling alive urge my ego to keep me
in that same place to die out of love in my lovers arms.

Forget the whole world with there own problems there horrors,
and set myself free to feed my greed with whatever it takes
As a necessity to remain in control as I am not a looser.

Now I felt my soul living inside of me a happy soul aware that
Fear is far away aware that living today is a blessing aware
To want to listen to see awake my profound passion that was
hidden in me take a decision of running towards a new beginning.

A path that knows no darkness a path where i can run so fast
that no obstacles can exist nor an accident can occur keep running
towards the beyond which always existed except my ego was blind
Afraid sad and deaf at the time.

I have always believed in the power of forgiveness never hate anybody
Not even my enemies that kindness in my heart will want to learn to
progress and lead my soul to believe I am who i am.

I must feel special as i have something special my roses always blossom
In my yard since my ego gave me back my life that was when i decided
never to let go suddenly i felt years younger and remembered not to
Forget to smile that smile which I inherited from my ancestors.

As I sit wandering about the south
side of Chicago captured effortlessly
by the tall dandelions watching the
lightening bugs rest on sunken cattails
we often lit them just before the sun
sets over George Washington Carver
campus deep within the forest preserve
over looking the Dan Ryan expressway

just to keep the mosquitoes at bay there
are always so many not even the
swarming dragon flies feasting could
truly silence them I sit pondering away
with my thoughts on the Pullman strike
and the hay market projects writing poetry
in my journal as quiet as a mouse an yet I
always had something to say the orange sky

began to drift as a blanket of stars started
twinkling in a distant over the railroad
tracks I can here the loco motive rolling
down the broken planks-cotton belt
screeching down the steal beams fresh
bread will be served tonight with my
grandmothers famous Sicilian soup
right about now I here her calling my

name Cocoa cocoa put that book
down and get in here for supper it’s
getting dark you know I stuck my
pencil inside my braid and begin
skipping towards the gardens homes
that were actually built 1945 name after
Congressman John Altgeld for war
veterans returning from WWll and their

families there simply was no greater
peace right away I got to roll the lemons
cutting them for fresh lemonade and
begin asking all kinds of questions about
where do the bugs go at night how
do they sleep and why do lightning
bugs come out just before dust then
die out after we catch them and put

them in a jar the rest just vanish my
dad answered all my questions as I
began to drift off to sleep he carries
me upstairs to bed tucks me in removed
my pencil from my braid and
places my journal on my nightstand
dims the light as my mind starts to
dream of my tomorrows adventures

Trite Is the Truth

The truth starts,
the truth begins,
the truth frees.
The truth does these,
the truth never ends.

The truth is love,
the truth is the key,
the truth is deep.
The truth is absolute,
the truth is beauty.

The truth is contagious,
the truth can hurt,
the truth can be hidden.
The truth can be elusive,
the truth at end of earth.

The truth is universal,
the truth will understand,
the truth truth is a language.
The truth sheds light,
the truth can make a stand.

The truth will always be,
the truth can be perverted,
the truth can be distorted.
The truth cannot be stopped,
the truth can be misinterpreted.

The truth will prevail,
the truth always will live,
the truth can be jailed.
The truth can provide amnesty,
the truth can forgive.

The truth can be a mirror,
the truth is the great need,
the truth has no color.
The truth recognizes itself,
the truth is its own creed.

The truth can be painful,
the truth can be found,
the truth can be joyous.
The truth will not die out,
The truth is always sound.

The truth is not a contest,
the truth cannot be made,
the truth is solely pure.
The truth is born,
the truth should not be weighed.

The truth can be stated,
the truth can be told,
the truth can be heard.
The truth can be written,
the truth should not be sold.

The truth can be spoken,
the truth can even sing,
the truth can be a burden.
The truth can be a yoke,
the truth will give one wings.

The truth can be hung,
the truth can stand trial,
the truth can be buried.
The truth cannot perish,
the truth can be vile.

The truth can be forgotten,
the truth can be found later,
the truth can find affection.
The truth can be hated,
the truth is not a traitor.

The truth is in ones eyes,
the truth found in the heart,
the truth is in the soul.
The truth upon the lips,
the truth from the start.

Understand, Reflect and Respond
Stand up on principles
Respond on action
Movement
Turn injustice to equal justice
Dr. King fought hard and travelled far
Journey’s beyond
His dream to look upon
We must believe we can
Our hearts must transcend
Turn the pave of Racism into togetherness as one
Remember Dr. Kings struggles
Never tire
We must gain access
Prosecution unseen
Dr. King’s voice shouted anguished
The movement that was determined
His vision of Civil Rights
Dr. King is our inspiration
Our former President Obama words, “Yes we can and shall”
We must maintain our fight in always exercising our rights
The powers that be want all races to go back into time of then
The world needs to understand, we went forward, and can’t go back
Dr. King wasn’t about separation, but bringing all races together in harmony
The light seems to keep dimming, and we can’t let it diminish
Once in darkness, always in darkness
Washington seems to have closed its eyes
We the American people must realize
Stand up for the cause
We still have work to do that Dr. King couldn’t finish
He sits high and is looking down
What happened to the people I fought for
We must rule Racism out
It wasn’t easy for Dr. King and it won’t be easy again
It’s a purpose and demand
We are all one on America’s land
Like I said earlier, Dr. King’s message for us is UNDERSTAND, REFLECT and RESPOND
Don’t let Dr. King’s dream die out
We are his dream, and we must fulfill
Continue to prevail without fail
Follow Dr. King’s trail
It is more important than ever before
We can’t go backwards
Together, we need to overcome and shall be determined
Dr. King saw the dream
We must embrace his efforts
We need to see a better tomorrow
Reflect back, but only for the moment
We shall overcome, one day
Through God’s help, we will fulfill.

Premium Member The Final Frontier

From the beginning of time there has been exploration
To undiscovered places by every rich nation
Mans great love for exploring has moved up a gear
He has accepted a new challenge; the final frontier.

Nineteen fifty seven saw the launch of sputnik one
Followed by sputnik two, the space race had begun
Russia was the first off the starting block
America was busy working around the clock.

The following year America entered the race
By sending explorer one up into space
Russia then sent up their first cosmonaut
America then followed with an astronaut.

America was now leading in the race for space
President Kennedy’s wanted a man, on the moons surface
The whole world was watching, they were eager to see
Eagle Landers touchdown in the sea of tranquillity.

Research and development is now taking place
To establish planet Mars as a forwarding base
Future missions will refuel and take on supplies
So astronauts can venture out into darker skies.

Look up on a clear night and look for the space station
Manned by astronauts from more than one nation
Mankind has shown that he has the capability
By developing spacecraft that was once fantasy.

There have been many celebrations and even some tears
Accidents have caused deaths of some brave pioneers
Two NASA space shuttles, Colombia and Challenger
Both exploded above the earth a tragic disaster.

Our sun will die out and mankind needs to survive
A new home is needed so humans can thrive
Mankind will colonise planets that’s a certainty
Using great minds to develop new technology.

Space exploration is new and is painfully slow
In the big scheme of things, we’ve a long way to go
But one day these dreams will become reality
As man ventures further out, beyond our own galaxy.

Pure African Soil

He walked the streets of Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and Nazareth

one hundred percent pure African soil

he was borne and raised on pure African soil

both parents given to raise him here on earth

walked and traveled on pure African soil

he journeyed acrossed the Nile river, Rea sea, and the Jordan river

all rivers of Africa the texture of his hair was as course as wool

his eyes red like fire his skin was bronze brown representing the many

African tribes his feet the same feet that walked across African soil

his story has been myth however, the bible reveals Jesus Christ yes Jesus Christ

is African No one really understands his life's story

so society changed his skin color and hair texture so people would

feel comfortable praising him in our new generation a "white world"

they will not praise a black Jesus having a black president proves that the white world

is in outrage and doesn't want to acknowledge black leaders or prophets

they either want them dead or in jail so no one

can hear the truth about Jesus race and background

alot of black men help found this country from pure African soil

even my lord and savior Jesus Christ

Its very sad but very true today's society would rather praise a statue, plant, or figurine than

to praise Jesus name that's why we have so many religions
I guess God understands that's why he said"you can blaspheme against Jesus name, but if you blaspheme

against God or the holy ghost you will never be

forgiven". Even though he said that, that doesn't mean its ok to blaspheme against Jesus

Always be mindful of what you say because it could be your own destruction

everybody will see Jesus before they all die out

then the mystery will be revealed
