SEEDS OF THE GAMBIA

Beneath crystal clear skies
A beacon of hope lies
Trunks that stand so high
And anchor as time flies.

From its fronds, artifacts of beauty made,
Its trunks forge bridges, strong and staid,
An architecture of nature’s grand design
A testament to resilience, in every line.

Its produce, a rich blessing, pure and sweet
A bounty from roots to leaves, none can compete.
From the roots that delve deep in the earth’s embrace
To the leaves that reach up, in the sun’s warm grace.

Sheltering beneath its shade, life flourishes
In its presence, the spirit nourishes.
A symbol of endurance, through seasons and strife
The palm tree stands, a testament to life.

In every breeze that rustles through its fronds
Echoes of the land, its timeless bonds.
A sentinel of the soil, steadfast and free
The heart and soul of Gambia, the noble palm tree.

Confronted with conflicting self-forces
my flesh groans in adversities’ braces
gripped by haughty human nature that reigns
over flawed sinful carnality strains.

Granted with grace of redemption by Christ
my soul owns His eternal life, blood-priced
along imputed righteousness divine
changing me from iniquities’ design.

Quickened toward God-consciousness delight
my spirit yields to Almighty light
striving to win own personal battles
smiting selfishness, pride and greed rattles.

Settling to choose best in dilemmas’ test
my faith seeks truth from Scripture wisdom nest
believing immutable verities
learned well from discipleship certainties.

Created in God’s image: wondrous deed
my essence is complete through Him indeed
made functional through ministerial acts
living for Him, reaching-out midst peace-pacts.

Staying in the center of the Lord’s will
my heart contented, with love He does fill
while satisfied by His faithfulness’ bliss
prospered in glad service I cannot miss.

Blest with uniqueness of distinct beauty
my being finds worth in Jesus’ bounty
He values me through His compassion wealth
enriching* personhood by divine health.

*2Corinthians 9:11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

In and Out

Rippling through reality,

Breath experiencing gravity.

IN and OUT of it's cavity,

Sweet flavors of your grace.

Savoring the taste,

Leaving nothing to waste.

inhaling,

Entering the space,

Stillness,

A Sacred Embrace.

As molecules play chase,

Since your inception.

Tracing it's direction,

Feeling it flowing in.

That loving Oxygen,

Bringing good Intentions.

Witness the Intervention,

Letting the LOVE enter in.

An expansion happening,

Two energies interacting.

New Chemicals reacting,

Impacting every Cell,

Connecting, and Directing,

Your perfect design.

Resign.

Realign.

Letting go,

Exhaling smooth and slow.

Release the pain,

Blow out the sorrow,

A new element ,

Released from the bellow.

Energy shared with all below,

Helping your environment Grow.

A Relationship I HOPE you know,

And the Importance of our Role,

A ripple of The Whole,

IN and OUT,

Since you first cried out.

Love

Love is a blessing,
Love is a miracle,
Love heals,
Love resurrects,
Oh, what a grace!

To humans,
Love is magic.
Yeah!
Love drives
Love invigorates
Love sustains
Oh, love protects
Love guides
Love, love, love

A magic current,
A palpable feeling,
Almost tangible,
An invisible glory,
Conspicuously hidden
An inaudible melody
Sweet to the soul,
Nearly testable,
The lingua can attest
Love

It fills the air
We know its odourless scent
It warms the mind
And gladden the heart
Calms the nerves
Even the skin knows about it.

A universal language,
For the unborn, young and dotard
An unlimited force,
Knowing no boundaries

Across human races,
Brown, black, white or yellow,
All perceive this precious grace

The beasts and fowls comprehend it
The birds of the air can reciprocate
What an unfathomable currency
For the fauna and flora of the world
That each can transact with!
Love!

Glorified and honoured,
Sung and spoken,
What an invention
What a design and creation
In the likeness of the Creator,
To be created,
Only Love could create love.
Love, love, love.

Dithering With Hesitation On Brink of Abysmal Precipice

Infinite pitch black void zooms,
I vacillate to pitch headlong (head over heels)
where freedom looms
large (think) cosmic size grand canyon grooms
espouses, and cloisters unbridled wedded bliss
structured sound of silence booms.

Dawdling against inevitable fate
temporarily holds in check (mate)
eternal salvation woebegone
grievance to ameliorate
repurposed conscious being (me)

sanguine reunion ridding travesty
once for all ascending soul asylum gilded gate
consanguinity amidst deceased brethren
impossible mission to discern,
thus I equivocate.

At long last doomed existence
finally fancy free and footloose
Earthly afflictions divine creator
severe trials and tribulations let loose
promise body, mind and spirit triage
damn physical, mental, and

spiritual afflictions permanent vamoose
yoked Sisyphean and mephistophelean woe
summoning herculean strength
(mine) to vanquish
courtesy (halloo) gibbet welcome noose
necks stop outer limits analogous cooked goose.

Neither family nor scant friends twill mourn
severance outlook linkedin inextricably forlorn
accursed psychological agony since I got born
incessantly pilloried courtesy bullies hood scorn
yours truly convenient scapegoat raked over hot coals

preferable versus insidious,
nefarious, and opprobrious
suffering post traumatic stress disorder wartorn
invisible battle scars branded me, yet well worn
shell shocked comfortably numbed skull
jimmied heavily inebriated distilled, cracked corn
trumpet silenced (think) muted horn.

Anger at self wells up
regarding passive stance (mine)
convenient akin to jellyfish,
and/or crustaceans without spine
essentially a dorky nerdy wimpy kid
i.e. faulty genetic design
unsure if attributable to Capricorn zodiac sign
essentially allowed, enabled and provided
easy excellent access akin to scavengers to dine

bitter draughts synonymous quaffing quinine
figuratively forced down gullet - nein
letup liberally heaped upon
bobble headed, I opine
courtesy 20/20 hindsight, a tangential pact
with Sue S. Side, promising starvation diet
package deal plus absent I,
(now a tan gent) unwittingly did cosign.

Conflicted Worship

What cruel-hearted fiend would fashion a soul,
only so it could bow and sing empty praise,
pretending that love is some worthwhile goal,
expecting satisfaction from meaningless days?

Not I! Tis not me who is blind and absurd;
I will not subscribe to such wretched design-
Infinite power in the breath of one Word,
What need of me could have the divine?

O Lord, spurn me not for rebellion and doubt,
You are mine, I am yours, allegiance I swear.
These fears that I harbor are death; drive them out!
And take me softly into your loving care.

A lover must question his love day to day,
And questions I keep, but with joy I obey.

Premium Member Geranium

In gardens kissed by morning dew,
Geraniums rise like fine painting on the canvas of earth,
Their petals an articulate design in scarlet hue,
Each bloom radiates a joyous story of rebirth.

Their leaves, like emerald shields,
stand strong, Guarding secrets whispered in the wind,
In sunlight's embrace, they sing their song,
A symphony of colors, unconfined.

With stems that reach for azure skies,
They dance with grace in summer's breeze,
Their fragrance, a whispered lullaby,
Carried by the wings of bees.

Like sentinels in nature's grand design,
Geraniums bloom, a living art,
Their beauty, a beacon that ever shines,
A testament to nature's heart.

Premium Member Monamore Mill

"Sliddery via Ross" the signpost says,
at Monamore, where once there stood a mill.
A rustic bridge, a burn, the scene conveys
but little of the travails of the few
from whose imaginings and dreams so long ago
an edifice uniquely beautiful they grew.
Of elegant design, so grand and tall,
admired it was, and loved, by one and all.

So proud it stood, o'erlooking Lamlash Bay.
Its backdrop was the Ross, a bonny hill.
Close by, the smoky clachan known as Croc,
adjacent to the burn which powered the mill.
Idyllic was its setting, pride of place,
famed artists did this lovely scene embrace.
But so-called progress was a contradiction,
leading to neglect and dereliction.

Its sculpted sandstone walls now grim outlines,
a home to dripping moss and grassy ferns,
the roof collapsed, its sorry shell exposed
to all the elements, the mill returned
to nature, and the earth from which it came.
A hazard now, and who must take the blame?
Its demolition caused much muttering.
That lovely mill is now road bottoming.

Psalm 151

Bless the work of my hands Oh! Lord
Bring forth your divine design
And dress me with a garment of light
And leave my old robes behind
Redeem me Oh Lord!
Return my glory!
So that I can give praises to the Father
Holy! Holy! Holy!
Bless the work of my hands Oh Lord!
Let me prosper in the light
Give me wisdom and wealth
And an obedient wife
So that my seeds may multiply
And dominate this earth
When you are close to the bosom of the Creator
You can never lose
Because the Lord does as he pleases
And blesses whom he choose
Show pity on your servant Oh Lord!
Because your mercy is great
The ruler of the Heaven and universe
The architect of men’s’ fate
By Your word it was created
And by your spirit you sent life
The Lord will save you from the sea of tribulation and strife
But we are poor and needy Oh my God!
Please do not cast us off
And even though the road may be rough
I will not lose God’s love
The Lord is the keeper of my soul
He is the Shepherd who keeps his sheep from going astray
And protects his chosen ones every night and day
The Lord is wonderful in every way
And he shows mercy to those who fear him
So I will abstain from sin
As I draw myself closer to him
Heathens wallow in a sea of mud
Until their iniquities be found to be evil
Because they disobeyed His word
In the eyes of the world they prosper
But they soon fade away and suffer
The righteous will never lack because the Lord will provide
I am shielded by the Lord
So why should I hide?
My enemies like a potsherd
And are smashed by His rod
He will protect those who obey his word
And make the meek strong
And the little one powerful
I will praise your name in the presence of the throng
I will praise your name because it is right
And never wrong
I will praise your name and make it my favourite song
From everlasting to everlasting
Amen! Amen!
