When we are young, we need to follow something, someone.
Perhaps like me, you have heard the advice, "follow your heart".
Growing up, you too have felt confined, conflicted, and confused.
Who are we to question the good, the best, and the smartest?
So we revered their great wisdom and bowed to their sacred cows.
But after a thorough investigation, I discovered weaknesses of my heart,
Whereupon I took a second look and decided to follow it no more.
And in due time, I refused such advice and began to LEAD my heart.
My heart has not earned the right nor the reputation to be followed.
My heart is less schooled in the universities of passion, power, and purity.
My heart is prone to deceitfulness and is sometimes proud and secretive.
"Put not your trust in man", says the Scriptures, and am I not also a man?
So I am learning to lean on and trust The Lord, and with God, LEAD my heart.
That is why, like David, I want my Lord to lay me down in green pastures
beside still waters. I tell you my friend that on several occasions, my heart has failed, leaving me with displeasures and disappointments on the roller
coaster rides of romance, in multifaceted fields of religion, and in dead end pursuits of success. It's ever true that the heart would prefer to be in
control. Oh, but to be true to yourself, to be wiser than most, to finish
this race unworried and rested, LEAD thine heart.

We can know the Saviour, Jesus Christ*, along His granted salvation
Through the Bible declaring His persistent love’s compassion
With His gracious mercy of full justification

Thus, sealing our redemption’s completion.

Through His Word exposing His perfect will’s authority
With His divine purpose of immutable certainty

Through His provisions of bounty’s abundance
With His satisfying wellness of healthy performance
Likewise His constant care showing timely deliverance
Thus, beautifying our contentment’s countenance.
We can know the Saviour along His revealed servanthood-stature
Through His obedience to God the Father proclaimed by the Scripture
With His instructing precepts of stewardship’s fruitful posture
Likewise His precious statutes teaching faithfulness’ gesture
Thus, directing our faith’s venture.
We can know the Saviour while yielding to His holiness
Through His tenacity against temptations' deceitfulness
With His mighty power of unfailing goodness
Likewise His heavenly standards for righteousness
Thus, uplifting our prayerful steadfastness.
We can know the Saviour with His promised security-settlement
Through His clear and holy plan’s fulfillment
With His wise guidance of prosperous advancement
Likewise His ready help flowing with generous endowment
Thus, blessing our church ministry-involvement.

Unbearable thoughts barreling through my head
Decaying in this silent chamber...
Where I desperately cry for help
Words come out useless...I have no capability to yelp
They haven't collapsed in the hands of the unforgiving jail-keeper
This pain grows in my bones...making me weaker
No one bothers to consider me
Circulated by envious glory
That snicker at my carrion body as it drops in dripping failures
Dragged by the sickening thought of living with jailers
As if i had no outlook to life...
I'm still placed in this cold-heartened chamber
Because I'm drenched in silence...
haunted by the deafening atmosphere
sensing a load of terrorized fear
Shame embraced me, never leaving my presence
Cautious of the hovering thoughts,
transforming itself into my dreadful, panicky past
This hopelessness doesn't seem to matter
In this chamber of deceitfulness
Someday...hopefully Someday...
This silent chamber will shatter
For now, I'll abide in this loathsome,
silent chamber
Until God, My Savior, will shatter this wretched place
Into smithereens
I never knew that I could hurt
So bad till I saw you flirt
With a girl behind the bar
Smiling brightly like a star
I was gonna get a drink
After work so I could think
About problems in my life
Till you stabbed with with a knife
Of betrayal I would see
At the door--It couldn't be
You were gonna be at work
At a meeting--what a jerk
Your back turned--You didn't know
How my heart sunk down below
All the sadness at the door
Where I almost hit the floor
From the sight before my eyes
How did I not recognize
The signs I refused to see
That was in your history
My friends warned me about you
But I tried to see it through
Thinking it would not get worse
Hoping I could just reverse
Your bad habits but I guess
You never tried to really bless
Me with a one woman man
I tried to do the best I can
Now I see your old ways
Hasn't changed through out the days
Your deceitfulness has led
You to another woman's bed
I walk away--you didn't notice
Now I'm frozen from the coldness
That I have to live with now
I do not even know how
My poor heart is still beating
When did your love start fleeting
From my heart to other girls
Wrecking my entire world
