Premium Member Those Were The Days

Back in the eighties, wild and free..
A golden time for you and me.
We'd ride our bikes through streets unknown..
No screens, no apps.. just flesh and bone.

Vinyl spun and cassettes played loud..
Walkmans made us feel so proud.
Sunday sessions, pub lights dim..
Happy hour.. middies brimmed.

Beaches burned with summer’s glow..
Boardies, sunburn, sand in tow.
Bonfires crackled, smoke rose high..
Underneath the star-lit sky.

Dating boys with puffy hair..
Lipstick smudged but didn’t care.
Waiting by the phone each night..
Waiting for a call, he said he might.

No ATMs—our cash was king..
Hard-earned dollars, ching ching ching.
Weekend drives to hunt for fuel..
Breaking our parents curfew rule.

Holden Kingswoods, Toranas too..
Panel vans with wicked crews.
Number Three Carpark.. burnouts spun..
Late-night laughs and endless fun.

Roller & Ice skating, ice so slick..
WAFL games and goal-side kicks.
Live bands shook the pubs at night..
Fake IDs for the bouncer to sight.

Ravenswood drags and bogans galore..
No respect for the rules or law.
Chiko rolls and Fast Eddys feeds..
Hangover cures.. a friend in need.

Fireworks lit the sky so bright..
Parties raged through endless nights.
Australia Day, we stood so proud..
Singing anthems strong and loud.

Sunday roasts with family near..
Good mates laughing, ice-cold beer.
Life was simple, bold, and fast..
A time we knew would never last.

Now we look back, hearts so full..
The eighties had that magic pull.
No likes, no texts.. just love and grace..
Those were the days, our golden place.

The ants and the beetles were all celebrating
As I wed the spider that I had been dating
And soon sixteen legs would be consolidating
I could say eighteen but that’s exaggerating

But all of a sudden the ground was vibrating
We tried to get clear but the plants were gyrating
We made for a drain with a safe metal grating
To hide from the beast and it’s red armour plating

We froze at the passage the beast was creating
By severing grass with its twin blades rotating
In fear of our lives we then started debating
To run off together or try separating

A not so near miss meant I’ll never be mating
Sometimes the obvious doesn't need stating
At least while my wife finds that rather frustrating
I won’t be her lunch when we’re done consummating

We tried to escape with some skilful pond skating
It helped that the air machine wasn't aerating
But there was a fountain that was agitating
The surface too much which was infuriating

I turned to the man and began contemplating
If spiders could ever do human castrating
But soon he was done and he started inflating
A pool with a puncture, he found that deflating

Reward and his effort were not correlating
And that made him mad, made him start salivating
And just when we thought that he might be fixating
His face went all blank and his eyes were dilating

He glared at us spiders, his ire not abating
So we thought it best to be reciprocating
But he had a brick in his hand elevating
I’ll tell you right now, that was not constipating

Perhaps it’s now time for some quick relocating
This isn’t the fate I was anticip.....

Premium Member Dating In Socks and Crocs

I decide to take the plunge, internet dating is all the rage
My loneliness grows, I decide it’s time I try to engage
I join several dating sites, cynical of what I may find
Hoping it’s someone sweet, who’s honest and kind

I write my profile and describe myself as stylish and chic
Smiling with a chuckle, right now I am not dressed for my pic
I go to my closet; the fancy date dresses are way in the back
I move all the comfy clothes as I take the sexy ones off the rack

I narrow it down to two dresses, one glittery red and one slinky black
I grab a pair of heels, spiked red leather and with sexy strappy backs
My face is now make-up, red lipstick, blue liner and false fake lashes
I set up my camera and tripod, hoping it takes my pic and flashes

A week goes by and I have several hits and messages on my profile page
I find one I like, he seems nice and honest, or it could all be staged
We chat awhile and then he invites me to talk to him over zoom
I agree to video chat in a few hours, as I stare at the dresses in my room

I get all made up, wearing my red dress, spiked heels, flashy fake rocks
As I try to walk, I take the heels off and put on my fuzzy socks and crocs
We video chat, really hitting it off, until he asks to see my sexy shoes
I panic, as drop my tablet, it crashes, lands at my feet, I am not amused

I grab my tablet, my face is red with embarrassment, maybe he didn’t see?
He laughs as he tells me, he now knows I am the one, it was meant to be
He's holding up his foot, below his suit, he’s wearing shorts and fuzzy socks
and says he loves that I can be glamorous while wearing socks and crocs

The End

I wish I could say it wasn't that time of year again like the story finally stopped repeating but sadly not all love stories are happy.....

I wonder if you think how about I feel
If im okay or if im crying....
I wonder if you think man does she hate me
If I wish I never met u
If I regret our marriage
I wonder if you feel bad
That you've hurt me again....
That you put me second again
That again you made me feel unwanted...I wonder...
How do you sleep if u even sleep at all...
Does the drugs numb the pain you feel from hurting me....
Do you even care u hurt me....
Can u feel me slipping away...
Does it scare u..
Are u worried...
Maybe you should be...
Years of disloyalty, lies, secrets...do u care how its destroyed me...
I wonder if u regret it..
The kids, the marriage, the engagement hell even dating me again...I wonder....
Have you fallen out of love?
Has me constantly fighting for us for these past years not been enough....
Maybe...I wonder
If I would give in..give money for the drugs, the alcohol, your constant wants...would it be enough...
If I let you have sex with others would I be enough...

WHEN WILL I BE ENOUGH

our love story used to be once upon a time now its here we go again...
If fairytales happen why did ours become tragic...
Will you miss me
When im gone
When im no longer referred to as your wife
When the papers are finalized...
When I finally stop fighting for us..
Will you miss me?
I made mistakes i live with everyday but how does what I did twice compare to you 10 plus times...
I could say im sorry but ive done that constantly and nothing changes....
Do they make you happy?
Does them letting you do whatever you want make you feel free...
Maybe...maybe you'll always be chasing the drugs and the girls who buy or give it to you....

As sad as it may be our story is coming to an end where Harley leaves her Joker and never looks back.
Love is hard to find they say if you got someone worth fighting for fight but they never talk about what to do when the heartbreak is worse than the love they give....

I bid you farewell and best wishes...my new chapter starts..
Once upon a time but only with the children this time...
So long and farewell my friend
Let our love die like Romeo and Juliet

For Zoila On Her 80th Birthday

For Zoila
on Her 80th Birthday

What a Special Day for Birthdays
They are like mile stones in flight,
Marchers along the highways of life.

Baby, child, teenager, young adult
Never stationary, ever on the go
With decisions made, futures
yet to know.

Dating, courtship, love and marriage.,
every step a monumental overture on fire
full of possibilities, hopes, desires.

Time progresses, ever moving forward
full of joy, laughter, happiness, sadness and tears
with aching loss and memory that elude the years.

We never truly know what is to be,
there is no looking glass in which to see
just the thoughts of love and memory.

We age, turning more slowly life’s page,
We reminisce and ponder what we might have missed
Of all the blessings, good and sadly kissed.

Children now grown, slipping into lives on their own,
Daughters, granddaughter and grandsons,
As we look back satisfied, content with our run.

We live, we love
With all the trials and the blessings from above
May you be at peace as those days are done
Accepting with gratitude the days to come.

Premium Member True Love Exists, Right

I want so desperately to find someone and fall in love,
But I’m beginning to think that my time has passed.
I keep hoping for a sign from someone up above
To let me know that my loneliness won’t last.

I walk down the street and see couples holding hands.
That’s when I think to myself, “Maybe I’m too late.”
There’s a perfect love for everyone, or so I understand.
I just wonder if mine passed me by when I was eight.

I think of the times over the years I’ve been dating,
And I start to realize that I have yet to feel a spark.
The hardest part about getting older is the waiting,
Hoping, that someday, I won’t end up alone in the park.

It’s the realization that true love exists for everyone
And that one day fate will bring someone to my side,
That keeps me looking for love where there’s been none,
Through the ups and downs of my life like the ocean tide.

Lady In Waiting

A tale of a lady in waiting.....
Emily did speed dating,
For her swain she is waiting,
Emily, anticipating,
Hopes fantasising,
Are her nuptials nearing?
Is today that diamond appearing?
Shall she have a solitaire ring?
Preceding her white wedding?
Now her swain is appearing,
He has a burning question,
She waits for his suggestion,
She's the lady in waiting,
Is her swain proposing?
"Emily, Emily, Emily,"
He sighs heavily,
"Here is my question burning,
I ask my soul's deep yearning."
Emily waits for a diamond ring,
"Emily, Emily, Emily,"
Swain whispers breathily,
The lady is waiting.....
"Can you marinate chicken wings?"
He yells angrily,
"That's rude, that's crude!
That's the last time I see you!"
Now her own wings she is marinading,
Does she resume speed dating?
Does Emily ever stop dreaming?
Solitaire ring anticipating,
The lady is waiting....
The lady is waiting....
And waiting, and waiting, and waiting.......

Woo Me

ask me a riddle
one that's not hard
and with it i'd fiddle
and tear it apart
search for the words
in meticulous ways
looking for clues
to remove me from the maze

tell me a story
one that's not long
and i'd listen with interest
and follow along
and try to learn your yearnings
if your stories have morals
would they have happy endings
are there parts where the story curls

write me a song
with words of love
sing my name take me above
convince the world
melt my heart
make me believe in your art
hypnotize me with harmony
and sing to me until sadness leaves

paint my portrait
nothing fancy mind you
features are important
so don't spare the youth
paint me as you see me
I want to know the truth
if you paint my picture
can you see me loving you

show me your expression
look at me and smile
is your smiling laughter
let it linger for a while
can your eye's tell me
what you feel right now
is the feeling sexy
or can you show me how

am i asking to much
for this one time meeting
maybe you can come again
and we can call this dating

No Promise of Tomorrow

P- “Poets have been mysteriously silent
O- On the subject of cheese.” I quote
E- Essayist G. K. Chesterton's thoughts.
M- Molded from Thomas Carlyle, these words:
S- "Speech is silver; silence is golden."

A- Arise, to your pens, ye poets of today,
R- Re-write like there's no tomorrow.
E- Eventually thoughts will match up with words.

H- Harold Camping wrote the world will end;
A- And dating it brought him much sorrow.
R- Ripening of thought is like cheese and wine,
D- Distilling the words takes time to age.

Permante Fixtures

We heard that she and he were
together.
If this man knew what we know.
Maybe he'd stop to think things over.
Now he nelived that she was married with children.
Wrong! She never married
and had no children.
She told him this to gain
attention and to have words to negocate
her being with him.
To allow him to speak words of
marrage
to elimante the dating process.
Now since we have told you
of her trickery, might
you tell him
that we can stop acting odd around him.
we whisper about this amonst one another.
It has made even the angerest peoples
in our fair community stop and speak on this.
Comparing there own dumbness with women to
this one. Terll this man what has transpired
that he can bring some normality to these peoplez!
She wishes him to tend to her animals
and build her house. They might marry
if he does we will speak him a fool!
