What is love my dear love?
When you cry, my heart weeps,
when you laugh, my heart rejoices,
when you have pain, my heart aches.
How much do I love you?
I am the bee, you are the honey,
I seek the fragrance, you are the jasmine,
I stare at the dark skies; you are there with silvery soothing light.
How deep is my love?
I am the heart, you are its beat,
I am the ocean, you are its waves,
I am the body; you are its soul.
How do I make you feel secure?
To survive, we all need dough,
We will share, all we will have,
Smart phone contents, may be too private to share,
Our own separate spaces, will help to dispel the fear,
Occasionally we will agree, to disagree on few issues,
Discussing the issues amicably, will solve the problems,
How strong is my love?
We may or may not be there life long,
But be assured,
I will be ever yours and you will be mine.

If I Were Your Love Poetry Contest

In an empty room sits a figure
A shadow of one’s self
A young boy beaten and ashamed
Over shadowed by the narcissist
His cruel and unrelenting anger boils over
The chosen target in his sights
The boy sat alone in a blank room
Stripped of its contents in the name of love
The heavy footsteps coming up the stairs
Counting the steps, the creak of number 8
The lock unbolted, the door swings open
And there he stands, my father
A lunge forward, he grabs my wrist
The tight grip of his hand, cold and moist
Forcefully dragging me down the stairs, the boys legs hitting every step
Anticipation heightened, a shoe, a belt, a cane, a hand
The terrified boy crumbles
Tears fall, legs tremble
Fury evident on his face
Forced to my feet
Pulled down my shorts, bare skin on show
Fear on show as this man draws his hand back
The instant sting
A burning hot hand print
As this man towers over my small stature
He draws back his arm
BANG! Again and again
The boys body collapses
The boy whales in pain
Sensations reverberating on my skin
The burning begins to prickle
Tingling and sharp
He’s not satisfied with his work
The peripheral sees a boot heading my way
A connection in my ribs
Instantly gasping for every breath
A boy so weak used to give his abuser strength
His actions keep me quiet, keep me small and afraid
A choice to humiliate a defenceless boy
Left feeling disorientated, no anger in his voice, no emotion
He sees my pain, my tears
His hand reaches for mine
Just to drag me back to the quiet room where I’m his captive
4 walls, a bottle of water and a bucket, click goes the door
Heavy footsteps disappear from earshot
Silence feels heavy, feels safe and temporary
Left with my own thoughts
Naked and beaten
Body turning from red to purple
Physical pain fades to a dull pain
Freedom to shed tears, to share my pain with my own thoughts
Permission to breathe in the silence
The next time could be worse
No excuses or reasons required
A child knows no different
I’m to blame for being born
bizarre stuff
in fact, she'd never visited a golf course before
in fact, as i took my daughter to the clubhouse toilet
i held the door open for her
the contents of the coffee was
all over the floor
i hit my tee shot against the trees
and the ball ricocheted back onto the fairway
'Good shot!' my mother yelled
there was a lot of top of the lungs stuff
MASHED POTATOES
i shanked it
mammy chops and bunkers like thunder thighs
my daughter wants to sleep in a bunker
i want to throw my clubs in the lake
worm burners
and municipal memories
this was meant to be a love sonnet
i'll be your caddy
i love you flagstick
Social Justice
Social justice is the fair and just relation between the individual and society.
I am an American
I just want fair and just treatment
wanting my fellow man and government
to represent, me
fairly
A measured explicit and tacit terms
for the distribution of wealth, opportunities
for personal activity and social privileges
this is social justice
fairly
I am black-African American
I just want fair and just treatment
wanting my fellow man and government
to represent, me
fairly
I profess Christ in my life
I am not ashamed to tell my boss or my job
religious discrimination
retail and governmental confinements work on required days
Or your fired
just want a right to be respected
fairly
There are four types of justice
Distributive, procedural, restorative and retributive.
I just want to be equally representative
child labor, miss-cradled
Racism, still hating for the color of our skins
education, teach the same have the same contents of books
Shelter/housing, all should have a descent place affordable place to live
Bullying, corruption jealous ashamed people sorrowful wanting power over you
Medicine, disabled people I must miss some meals sell my used car to afford
poverty I control but yet my governmental task masters really control
I am a Christian
Not ashamed to tell you or the government
I just want fair and just treatment
wanting my fellow man and government
to represent, me
fairly
Economic justice is a component of social justice
It's a set of moral principles
I need equal opportunity created for a sufficient
material foundation upon which to have a dignified, productive, and creative life beyond economics.
to represent, me
fairly
Racism, violence in schools, drug abuse
Unemployment,
Hunger and unfair labor conditions
Main reason we're in this
Is because of individual free-choice process
rarely
I am human caught in this mess
Called social justice?

Leota stacked her new books in a fabulous little pile.
She was thrilled with their freshness, it made her smile.
Finally at university, she could figure out the Minnesota charm.
It was reputed to invisible-ize people, so what could be the harm?
She flipped through the table of contents, wanting to find the page.
Minnesota charm is no longer viable. She stared at this in rage.
Surely one of these professors could teach it to her though, right?
She asked every one of them; begging with all her might.
It is forbidden, Professor Doolittle said. Do not ask again.
Leota witch went on a starvation diet, and got rather thin.
Why didn’t you ask me? Her mother said, when she got hospitalized.
I did not think you would know it, Leota said, totally surprised.
Her mother taught her the charm and she uses it all the time.
So if someone says they did not see you, please never mind.
A storm is afoot for those walking
thin lines whether they
know it or not
Plots conceived in the dark never
really go as planned
as divine hands will eventually
bring things to light
Everything has its reason & the plight
of those that answer the call
ring true
even if the contents of the call
isn't immediately viewed
Sometimes the message is chopped
& screwed proving
unintelligible to a few
but all will eventually get it
before it's all said
& done
I've come to the realization that we
live in a nation of followers
all borrowing excuses
& looking to place blame
Some will do anything for fortune
& fame
including losing a soul that isn't
really theirs
The lame excuses & borrowing gets
deeper than you know
likewise the hole for those
refusing to grow
We're all seeds growing toward
some thing or another
but it's best to
reach for the sky toward
the sun
All good things come in due time
& even you will
shine when appointed
The power is within you as
you've been anointed with energy
& the choice to choose
to ascend
The problem is many are just too
lazy to bring forth
what they have within
This is a sin greater than most
as you've also been given
breath to be a gracious host
of the most high
I sigh at the thought before
remembering that we
all get what we pay for even
if we aren't looking to
buy or be bought
They found it profitable.

meaning red pigment is added
to create a rich dark red color.

Or blowing the contents into ravines, holes or
on the ground to create usable stones for construction.

When the reporter came to do the interview, the Jolly Ole fat guy was
standing in the doorway in a three piece suit, smiling. He told me smiling to the point where his eyes appeared closed: " oh hell a reporter:: that ole secretary of mine she never tells me anything on time: I didn't even know you where coming." " don't think I'm half assed or some kooky ole fart: y'all come in here and
sit down lunch is to be served in moments: that why that ole gal made so much food!' Ha, haee-hee ha: he laughed.
Upon leaves of gold, orange and brunette,
I lay with backpack as my pillow asset.
As air touches me, smooth as any duvet,
cascading songs sing from a drowsy sunset:
Mountain sleep-persuasion strong
sways treetops in cradlesong.
Lay down contents of your daylong -
wake the morn to sweet birdsong.
Rest in mountain’s majestic lure,
in pure sunset breezes demure
touchingly tucking you secure
while stars twinkle sleeps allure.
Rest as night sounds of content
wrap you in natures melodic intent.
Trees give loft to cares ascent
as sunset grabs peace’s descent.
Rest easy under night’s canopy
vocalized in sunset’s rhapsody,
and trilled in twilight’s pageantry,
to bring dreams of prime fantasy.
Sleep sweet in sunset’s essence
under the galaxy’s guard presence.
Feel sunset’s alluring radiance
rock you soft thru night’s cadence.
Mountain sleep-persuasion strong
sways treetops in cradlesong.
Lay down contents of your daylong -
wake the morn to sweet birdsong.

How looks thou love
That i see not, but desire
And never can hear or
Reach to touch and taste
As does Helen eludes me?
Why feign thy presence
As though the cool air
We can see and we do
Care to know of what
Substance it's composed
Or the waters of what
Contents made it so?
Where is thy abode
Then? Within the heart
Or strayed outside of it?
Who drives whose wits
And disguise itself?
Who is to be responsible
If thou hath Helen
And Helen is thee?
Show thyself now
If thou hath genuine that
I may know thee for real
But not without Helen
As with the wind and
Water we bother less
Of what they are but our
Breath and nourishment!
What do you do when duct tape won’t fix it?
Y’know, when that “I got this” attitude is shattered
When it’s not things, or stuff, or “errors”
That require the questionable solutions of the “fixer”.
Souls are hard to comprehend and come without service manuals
No graphics or guidelines, no “call this number” bailout.
And yet they fail, suffer breakage, weaken with time
Outlive their expiration dates, idly linger.
Daybreak’s sun rises dimmer and fades to futility
As darkness intrudes into a vacant emptiness.
My tool box is useless, its contents befuddled
By an invisible break, an un-noticed fissure,
The silent slide into a dreaded abyss
Of distance, doubt, disconnection.
I am the duct tape and I cannot fix it
Save to cover my eyes and deny its presence.
