You Look Sideways and I Set Sail

You look sideways at me
I look straight on at you
You glance towards me
I stare at you
memorize the stiches of your coat
they are uneven
 it must have been handmade
You look up at the sky
I look at your shoes
They are slim and obviously Italian
You've been traveling in Europe

I look at your cheekbones
You stare off at a tree
 It is a beautiful tree
though I cant see why it has captured you

I' look at your hands
they're nice hands
 expressive hands
strong enough
big enough but not too big
 kind hands
You turn to the left to look out over the gray blank sea

I know we're not going to see each other again

Even the stark greyness of the Cape in late November is more compelling to you in this moment than I am

I am dancing colors
 I am a fragrance
of clean smells
I am sauce and sassiness and ideas and concepts
and wants

God how I want you

But you would rather look at greyness

I will never see you again

Thank you for the kiss on the dock
Thank you for the dinner and the dance
Thank you for the moment in the library when you looked into my eyes for one very long minute and I felt alive

Just before you asked me to the dinner dance
But you seem to have lost your moorings
You are like a boat
A buoy
or a wooden raft
floating
you don't know North from South
East from West

Now your sails are not catching the wind
You are sort of flapping
 carelessly
aimlessly
I watch you like watching a crab scuttle up the beach
Fascinated

I will never lose my way
( That's a lie)

Tonight
You were simply a dock
that I pulled up to ...tied off

Tomorrow the sun will rise
and I will feel full and excited
 I'll move on fast

throw off your bow

You were like the wild north wind for me tonight
 for about 5 minutes

The wind is fickle
When the wind changes I tact

While you were in my sails I did love you

Like any sailor is impassioned by the beautiful wind
 that suddenly drives him forward
the exquisite unbelievable .... unspeakable
tarp full sail pulling hard

I will miss you
But only like I always miss the wind when it dies
No more and no less

my sails will be full and my beautiful ship will be headed out to God knows where
But you my questioning friend will not know enough to follow
You will be still looking left and seeing only the gray of Cape Cod in Winter and

Premium Member Life Without Horizons

Wife's job vanished
Bank account diminishing
Future uncertain
Wolves are nosing at the door again.

My children smile at me,
Dance for joy when I come home;
Suddenly, no more fear, no worries for awhile

Funny how it takes all my concentration,
Such an effort of will,
To acheive, now and again,
The state of mind they take for granted.

The background noise of the big world is so high
One can barely think.

So I strive to rise above it,
To lift up and out of my little self
     Climbing higher and higher
     'Til the horizon's edges

                                                                Fall Away

     And everything is Present:

     No Future No Past
     No Necessities
     Only the one Conscious Moment
     Shining here unbounded.

I see once more that I shall suffer for awhile,
But can this really touch my joys, my freedom?

     - Only by my own permission.

No Joy without Pain
No Light without Dark
No Life without Death

Where are the sufferings of yesterday, of the years before?
Memories now, fading into the distance.

Troubles roll in, break over our lives
Then go, then come again
Sliding forwards and back on the tides of tomorrows.

I feel my pain, and close behind it
The world's far greater pain screaming
From its thousand daily wounds

Yet every day we go on, regardless

Fight the strain and it strengthens,
Let it break, then it recedes.

     Do something, or nothing
The Wheel turns just the same.

Easily said, yet hard to do;
Nothing's more difficult
Than doing nothing.

My love runs deep, my senses alive and vibrant with her,
Countless small delights lay near to hand.

I've two children more beautiful than the stars
To gaze on as they sleep; drunken with love of them

- What matters some struggle, next to this?

Yesterday is lost to time, and tomorrow yet to be;
All I can hold is this One Moment - I must not let it fall!

     I look within the Moment

     Horizons Fall Away.

Reach for It - It slides away
Listen for It - no sound will come

     - But glance away, be still awhile and wait
     - It steals up in the wind and blows right though you, Singing.

          It is like deep water.
On the surface everything changes, flows
But down below abides a Great Stillness.

               Horizons Fall Away.

When Life Spits You Out a Big Surprise

As we all go through life we want to believe
That we are all so wise
Until life spits you out a big surprise
As everything changes right before your eyes
When life slows down and we drift inside
We find ourselves fixed to a great slide
Just hoping to get to the other side

Oh God
Where are you taking me on this ride
Before I knew it we were in a full glide
I realize this is no ordinary ride
For on the way I could see clear as day
If I don't pay attention then this ride will sway
And I will never make it back to that day
When my life caught me by surprise
In such a big way

It took me to a place I am not ready to stay
This journey I must say helps me understand God has a plan
It's in his presence that we reach
For some kind of reference
Life is very short so you better be a good sport
Only God knows how wide the slide may be
I'm just glad that he wasn't ready for me

I learned so much as it all went by
I knew I was in the right place
Though I was very high
As I opened my eyes I thought everything
Was in disguise
For I knew that nobody was going to believe
What lays way up beyond the skies
What a wonderful surprise to find out
God loves me enough to send me back
To you guys

My life was altered in so many ways
I was gone for forty-five days
And some of it is still in a haze
My life will never be the same
Only the good Lord knows
How close I came that day

But one thing is for sure
I would never feel any shame
Or forget his mighty name
This is how I became a Soldier in Christ
To help him reclaim
What Satan has taken away
So we must all fight for what is right
We must banish Satan way out of sight
The bible is God's promise to all that believe
It's our faith that sets us free

I will stand against evil to help God to victory
For God had picked me
To see what most of us never get to see
Until we transition this position
And we leave these bodies
You can imagine that look on my face
When I actually made it back to that day
I am a witness to all of his glory
I will spend the rest of my life
Sharing his story

You will not hear any fear
When I know my time is near
He revealed it all to me
It has set me free to go be with thee
Without any mystery in what
God Promised you and me

Are we into a recession ?

Ladies and gentlemen,

Let’s take a moment to reflect on what happened in Venezuela. In the blink of an eye, everyone became a **multimillionaire**—not because the economy was thriving, but because hyperinflation piled up so much worthless money, people could barely carry it. Piles of cash with no real value. It’s a harsh reminder that money itself is not an asset if it can be manipulated to the point of collapse.

So, **where do you put your money?** This is the burning question in today’s uncertain economic climate. We’ve seen trillions wiped out of the stock market, and people are starting to worry. With central banks printing money and stock markets artificially inflated, where do you go to preserve your wealth? What is truly an **asset**?

An asset is something that holds value over time. But to understand how long your asset will last, you need to know two things: its value and the cost to maintain it. The reality is, if you’re holding onto an asset that requires too much upkeep, or worse—its value is tied to a depreciating currency—its lifespan will be cut short.

**Look at what’s happening right now.** The stock market, once soaring, is starting to falter. The markets are high, but we all know the **Feds** are coming. The next **FOMC** meeting will likely bring changes, and many are anticipating interest rates to be cut. We’ve already seen **50 bps points** pinned from previous CPI data, but the big question remains—what’s going to happen with rising geopolitical tensions in the **Middle East**, upcoming elections, and Japan’s interest rates, which have been low for so long?

This brings me to a crucial point: the **acquisition of the right assets.** In uncertain times like these, it’s not about following the herd into the stock market or real estate. It’s about finding assets that will **survive and thrive**. And I believe we’re going to start seeing a shift. We might witness **America considering Bitcoin** as a part of its reserve. Think about it: decentralized, free from the manipulation of central banks, and capped in supply.

Ladies and gentlemen, as we navigate this economic landscape, remember: **it’s not about chasing inflated markets or relying on printed money**. It’s about securing assets that have true value and can withstand the tests of time and turmoil. The future belongs to those who understand this fundamental truth.

The Ultimate Makeover

A woman one day had a total makeover
she completely altered her body and face
But only one week after all the surgery she had
she found herself standing before God's pearly gates
She said Lord, "what's going on around here
You told me I had twenty more years?"
The Lord replied," I didn't even recognize you
and that could be the reason why you are now here"

What is the ultimate makeover? What is it that we feel we must change?
What are we really reaching for? What do we hope to attain?
Botox injections, breast augmentations, changes that require a surgical team
We sometimes take an extreme approach to obtain the American dream
Pimped out, tricked out the ultimate fantasy car
But without God in your life you won't get very far
The ultimate makeover what you really need in your life
Is to accept as your Savior the Lord Jesus Christ

We all have a God shaped hole in our hearts that only He can fulfill
And no makeover of your fleshly self can completely satisfy that bill
To live your life to the fullest extent you must makeover your inner being
For your soul is the essence of who you are the core that God will be seeing
Neither bulking up nor becoming slim and trim will to God make much of a difference
It's the grace, peace and serenity inside you that will change your outward appearance

So confess that Jesus is your Lord and Savior
and believe His Father raised Him from the dead
For your faith in the Lord Christ should not occur only inside your head
It's not just the consciousness of your thoughts It's how your soul accepts God
So drink of the blood of the new covenant of Christ a makeover transforming your heart
For true belief involves your whole being it's not just cerebral and intellectual perceptions
It's the heart , mind and Spirit of God that should be your personal inceptions

The ultimate makeover the ultimate transformation
Will occur when you accept Jesus Christ's resurrection and salvation
So be recreated with a clean heart renewed and born again
the ultimate makeover that comes from within
But if you continue to hold sin in your heart there's not much that God can do
And you'll have a harder time finding forgivingness if your heart's not contrite and true
So ask the Lord for peace and grace and let the Holy Spirit inside you take over
Be revived, renewed and born again the ultimate Godly makeover

Premium Member The Glitter of Life

This is being newly dedicated to my Aunt Jane who reminded me to keep shining God’s light brightly.

THE GLITTER OF LIFE

A tiny sparkle of hope
Hidden within the gloom
We only see muddy water
Occupying all of our room

There is a pretty flower
Beneath those tall weeds
Buried far out of sight
We look not that deep

We seek bad news
So eagerly caught
We forget good news
Should be what is sought

Let us take a quick peek
Of the descriptionalization
It is what life is all about
To reach full realization

The hovering dark cloud
Brings depression and woe
Feeling trapped in sadness
Pulling with an evil tow

You become a hard rock
Or it seems like one of them
Now the trials before you only
Sand and polish you to a gem

Your eye catches a twinkle
To tap your vision per say
It travels far within to spark
Happy thoughts your way

Those clouds of gloom
Cover up the shiny light
The glitter inside of you
That wants to shine bright

All those weeds can hide you
Even from your very own face
So it is time to pull those weeds
To clear the area of your space

A crushed spirit as written
Will only dry up the bones
Whereas is your joyful heart
A good medicine to own

Our strength is from within
The joy of the Lord in each one
Our individual glitter of life
To shine with strong emotion

When you do shine your light
To see your pathway grounds
The glitter of life will be seen
That most abundantly surrounds

There will be a glow of beauty
Like nature covered in sequins
The flowers bursting through
Even the tallest weeds of grim

You will see the difference
You will finally get the hint
Even if you only shine a bit
With a brief flashing glint

To shine your light is simple
Though it seems hard to do
Hum a merry tune, or whistle
Even a smile changes attitudes

Clear the air with a breeze of hope
Thus letting the light inside glisten
A new wind of change on a good note
Chiming a beautiful tune – just listen

Lean not on our own understandings
To form opinions of what appears to seem
It is the faith within that holds the victory
To overcome the world and conquer our dreams

We are all sprinkles of the glitter of life
Scattered through dark clouds of gloom
Fighting our way through evil and such
Brightening the path for happiness to bloom

A Rift In Time Part 1

A Rift in Time

By Elton Camp

Henry Higgins, B.A., M.A. Ph.D., graduate in physics from the Massachusetts Institution of Technology, is missing. Born August 8, 1950, he was thought of as a genius by some, but as a crackpot by others. Revolutionary theories on the possibility of time travel that he presented at scientific gatherings received a mixture of applause and ridicule. None of his articles have seen publication in peer-reviewed journals.

How his machine works is of a technical nature, thus certain to be of insignificant interest to the readers of this account. Suffice it to say that it works very well. Henry had seen his device disappear and reappear multiple times after being programmed to slide both forward and backward in time.

Finally came the day to test it in person. Surprisingly athletic for a man of his years, Henry strapped himself into place before the control panel, adjusted his eyeglasses and pulled a protective helmet over his thick, gray hair. He set the chronometer to early August of 2040 to determine if he was still living at that advanced age and what honors had been accorded him by the scientific community.

With a barely-discernable jerk, the time machine began its slide into the future, the red cancel button prominently alongside the digital display of the date. The world outside the device became a blur and Henry heard only a low hum from the engine. All seemed to be well as the years rolled by on the chronometer. At first, that is.

Henry noted with surprise the muscle atrophy and skin changes associated with extreme age. A slight looseness of his helmet caused him to discover that he was now as bald as his father had been in his late eighties. Henry’s eyeglasses no longer allowed him to read the control panel clearly. The truth hit him--he was aging along with the passing years. The inanimate time machine had shown no such effect, but it was different with a biological organism. He desperately punched the cancel button, realizing that, if his future self was not still living, his death was impending.

To his relief, the chronometer slowed and stopped. Without input from Henry, the time device began to move backward in time, slowly at first, and then at a brisk clip. By the time the read-out showed Henry’s present, his physical deterioration had been reversed and all was as before.

Red Eyes and Sinister Looks

Chains, hay forks, knives, and a hollow whisper,
become more true and sinister.
Halt in the middle of the moon light,
and a waver image soon is no delight.
Voices run a muck in the head,
so not calming you wish you were dead.
Gushing blood through the eye
not an image that you would rely.
Nails stuck on your neck with such pain
so your paralyze just little life sustain.
Hoodlums terrorizing people running a muck
did not really know they are in luck.
More dangerous beings are out their
to commit such act and with sinister stare.
Laughing with haunting echo's through
is an aspect of fear can imbue.
The wind changes direction to smother
the echoing sound of laughter.
The panicking state that you are in
soon drives a knife within.
Blood rushing out of your vain
a crucial part of your life dropping like rain.
Running without a destination
you will never reach anyone of your relation.
Sliding your body on a wall
keeping your fall in a stall.
Red eyes you can see it at night
is soon devouring you with little bite.
Changing your belief with tonics of relief
and it is to late to turn a new leaf.
Ears start to deceive the animals sound
eating limbs are chewing around.
Slowly your red eyes steadily getting heavy
is starting to take your life with a levy.
Dropping down with no attitude
and your life force slowly loses altitude.
Breathing comes not so easy
smelling flesh seems so beastly.
The change comes a desire
with frightening red eyes of fire.
Comes more lethal than the hoodlums
your heart beating like drums.
Your hand becomes all fury
claws come out and your howl with furry.
Trance your in with no one to blame
a rage thats hundreds of centuries of flame.
Rising from a slumber of long lust
a animal instinct that you can trust.
Tearing things apart with no meaning
is a trait that is so deceiving.
Red eyes at night you see in a window
like a poisonous black widow.
Keeps you in attack mode of insanity
that takes all your vanity.
Ferocious emotions eating away
the soul that you had once betray.
The echoing sounds of loud thunder
breaks away the armor with sunder.
You fall once again to torturous agony
the feeling of one self is so lonely.
Shaking in the corner you are found
with blood soaked skin you drowned.
The night becomes day cruel in some way
your memories go in disarray.
The hunters with torches and sinister look
had parted way their hands shook.

Come O Rain Come

Come O rain come, throw your showers
On this part of earth and do not run
All the simple inhabitants of our villages, towns and cities
Are waiting for you with tears in their eyes
Come O rain come, throw your showers sublime
On fields, soil, animals, trees and birds flying

Even the trees and birds, animals and herds, Human and insects
All are gloomy and sad, with rankles on foreheads
With worries on their faces, as their hopes are getting buried
Without a shower to wipe their rolling tears from eyes
Come O rain come, throw your showers
On this part of earth and do not run

I know, why you are offended and not listening our prayer
But the animals and birds, our simple villagers, animal herds
Even fields drying up in excessive heat do not know
Why you are offended and not listening their prayers
Oh pardon them as they do not know
The misdeeds of those, who are spreading cities
And are cutting trees, forest and are eliminating fields
In the name of modern living
They go on spreading cities after cities
And industries after industries
These less blessed species of humans, do not want to know
The priceless value of mother earth
And the value of each drop of water and rain
Which comes due to green mountains and glaciers
Trees and plants, fields and ponds,
Lakes and rivers, they all are the
Darling children of the God of Rains.

To appease you O God of Rains
We are making our prayers with folded hands
You are and you were always our dearest
O God of Rains, on you we have offered our prayers
And have offered since ages our songs and lyrics
And even our heart and souls
Come O rain come, throw your showers
On this part of earth and do not run
The soil of earth and air also is boiling with heat
The birds and animals and all living creatures
Are waiting with their tired eyes on sky
To search a piece of clouds, which can extinguish their fire
With showers on their fields, plants and trees
Bless them O God of Rains, with your sublime drops of rains

Premium Member I Reach For Pink Mask

Open up the Mask Drawer Please

I cackled delight as I opened up my mask drawer.
Naughty Wednesday mask was on top. It had a permanent stamp on it that said “Call in sick.”
Wednesday is the longest day at work, an extra hour every Wednesday.
In the back of my mind, I felt Purple. Purple I kept thinking. I know Sunday’s mask is purple.
I glared at yellow-green mask; distorted, ugly, hideously angry. I tried never to wear my
Angry mask. Nothing shuts children down faster or harder than Angry mask.
Being a school counselor, I know that it’d be better for me to stay home than wear Angry mask.
On a whim I throw it on the floor and began stamping it into the carpet.
My husband comes around the corner and says “Boo.”
So glad I had that can of vegetable soup in my hand. I am in such a rare form mood when I’m
Anywhere near Angry mask. Husband yelps, and wisely retreats,
In a small scared voice I hear him ask, “Where is pink mask?”
“Probably in the washer, because I’ll bet you forgot to DRY it TODAY!” Angry mask and I yell, angrily.
I can hear the pitter patter of a husband’s feet. Hear the dryer open. Happy mask is flung inside the room with us.
Angry mask and I glower at it.
“Come on,” My muse says. “You could try to change your mood.”
You’d think me being a school counselor and teaching children they are in charge of their own moods – changes, swings, etc. I could do this. I struggle to think of my best lesson for changing attitude. Aha!
Now I remember. I pull out stop sign. Hold it up to the mirror where a mean angry woman is glaring at me. God, she’s old! Much older than I ever think I am.
“STOP!” the reflection and I yell. “STOP! Your mood is up to you. You can be mad for a week, a day, an hour, or….” A buzzer goes off. Time to get up. I run over and slam the alarm clock into the floor hard,
Breaking off every piece I can.
“STOP!” the stop sign in my head yells. “STOP! STOP! STOP!”
I am taking a hammer to it now.
I really have to get off the steroids.
Too bad my choice is between breathing or sleeping.
And yes, Mom, I have NOT slept in 5 days, and do you want to fight me, really?
You are 84 years old, and I know you can take me out as well as you put me in….
Damn steroids.
I’d best go back to the doctor today.
I love my job, and I certainly
Don’t want medication to
Make me lose it.
I reach for Pink Mask.
